Night Shift by Nalini Singh, Ilona Andrews , Lisa Shearin and Milla Vane

Blurb:

Four masters of urban fantasy and paranormal romance plunge readers into the dangerous, captivating world unearthed beyond the dark...

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh delivers a smoldering story with Secrets at Midnight , as the scent of Bastien Smith’s elusive lover ignites a possessiveness in him that’s as feral as it is ecstatic. And now that he’s found his mate, he’ll do anything to keep her.

In #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews’ novella,Magic Steals , when people start going missing, shapeshifting tigress Dali Harimau and jaguar shifter Jim Shrapshire must uncover the truth about the mysterious creatures responsible.

From Milla Vane—a warrior princess must tame The Beast of Blackmoor to earn a place among her people. But she quickly discovers that the beast isn't a monster, but a barbarian warrior who intends to do some taming himself.

It’s seer Makenna Frazier's first day on the job at Supernatural Protection and Investigations, and her first assignment is more than she bargained for when bodyguard duty for a leprechaun prince’s bachelor party goes every which way but right in national bestselling author Lisa Shearin’s Lucky Charms .

My review:

SQUEE!!! Stories from two of my absolute favorite authors Nalini Singh and Ilona Andrews in the same book.  I love it!

Secrets at Midnight by Nalini Singh – Oh what fun!  If you’ve read Branded by Fire (Psy-Changeling #6) you know that Mercy has three brothers who delight in teasing her. Now it is footloose and fancy free cat about town Bastien’s turn to fall and Ms. Singh takes this opportunity to get a little payback for all that he put Mercy through.  A fun sweet tale that will set Bastien on his tail.
Magic Steals (Kate Daniels #7.5) by Ilona Andrews – Adventure with my second favorite couple Jim & Dali from the world of Kate Daniels.  In Magic Dreams (a story that appeared in the Hexed anthology) we discovered Jim’s attraction to Dali the half-blind vegetarian were-tiger with the huge brain and even bigger heart with a penchant for crashing cars.  It had been hinted at in several Kate books but now we get to see what their relationship is really like and watch the one cat who can get one over on Big Bad Jim.

Lucky Charms by Lisa Shearin - Lisa Shearin is a “new to me” author but I absolutely loved this story so much so that after finishing this story I immediately put down this book and bought The Grendel Affair (SPI Files #1). Lucky Charms introduces you to Makenna Frazier and friends who work at Supernatural Protection and Investigations.  Hers is a world filled with magic and supernatural creatures.  She has an extremely valuable gift now she just has to stay alive to use it.

The Beast of Blackmoor by Milla Vane – I haven’t gotten to this story yet as I was distracted by Lisa Shearins Lucky Charms but I do plan to read this soon.

Wolf At Law by Heather Long

Blurb:
Long before Mason left Willow Bend, Ryan met his mate and brought her home...this is the prequel to the Wolves of Willow Bend and the story of Ryan and Tiffany.

Ryan Huston serves the pack in all their public financial dealings. Connected politically and personally, he possesses a unique ability to segue into and out of human life. He’s never been afraid to use his animal’s dominance to his advantage and, though he and Toman—the Alpha of Willow Bend—are often at odds, his loyalty to the pack has never truly been tested. Not until he meets Tiffany.

Tiffany Anderson grew up hard in a world defined by its uncertainties. Meeting Giles Taglioni seemed like a happy accident turned fairy tale. Five years into the abusive marriage, Tiffany wants out. Tiffany knows Taglioni will never let go of his daughter—he’d kill her before he lets her take Alexis away from him. A desperate woman with no options until a chance encounter changes everything.

Ryan is like no one Tiffany’s ever met, but she doesn’t dare believe him when he offers to help her. Long ago made familiar with the monsters in the dark, she doesn’t dream of princes on white horses sweeping her away. She also never imagined a big, bad wolf was exactly what she needed.

My review:

This is a prequel of sorts and can be read stand alone. This book explains the back history of one of the most enigmatic secondary characters of the Wolves of Willow Bend and the story of Ryan and Tiffany and how he came to be the father of Alexis who we met in the first book Wolf Bite.  If you’ve not read this series I’d start with this and then go on to devour the rest.
Heather long brings to life some of the most incredible characters on the page.  These are folks that you would love to meet and hang out with or maybe just drool over and yet none of them are “perfect”. They each have flaws whether personality, physical, or circumstance but by the end of each book you feel like you know them or want to know them better. Ryan was already in an established relationship when we first met him in Wolf Bite and you just had to love him in Caged Wolf so I really wasn’t expecting his story but I am so glad we got it.  This story fills in the backstory of each of the books to date and after having read it I am sure it sets up Margo’s story coming up in Rogue Wolf.  If you like strong, smart, honorable types who care and protect without smothering (for the most part) you will love this series and this book.

A Royal Christmas Proposal by Leanne Banks

Blurb:
A DADDY FOR HER LITTLE PRINCE

Fredericka Devereaux is no pushover princess. She's determined to provide the best life possible for her infant son, Leo. So when her brother, the ruler of Chantaine, insists that she and her hearing-disabled son need a protector, Ericka objects. But her new bodyguard, handsome Treat Walker, warms her heart as he cares for her baby and proves himself deserving of his name.

Treat keeps telling himself that he's not into Ericka and her little family. She's stuck-up and a royal hardly his type! Despite his best efforts, the former football player finds himself charmed by the sexy single mom and her adorable infant. This Christmas, all Treat wants in his stocking is the royal twosome he's sworn to protect!

My review:

Princess Fredericka “Ericka” Devereaux has made some mistakes in the past from wild child teen to marrying a cheating film director.  But when she got pregnant she divorced the fool and grew up.  Now she has moved back home to Chantaine but refuses to be a burden on anyone.  Her new independence is important to her and all she wants to do is raise her baby.  Being a royal means she needs a bodyguard.  Enter Treat an American security expert who is trying to enter the European market.
This bodyguard romance is as sweet as they come.  Baby Leo steals the show.  Ericka’s story could have gone either way when she discovered that Leo was deaf.  She could have left him to others to raise or she could do as she has and thrown herself into making life as full as possible and focusing on giving him the tools he needs to succeed. I like that this story shows how much work is involved when dealing with a special needs child and acknowledges that moms need love too.
I was lucky enough to receive an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

Tempting her Tiger (ROAR) by Virginia Cavanaugh

Blurb:
As a young girl, Stacia Carter had a crush on her brother’s best friend, Jordan Bayne. Grown and independent, she heads off to college and her destiny—to make him notice her as more than just the girl next door. After all these years, there’s no way she’ll take no for an answer.

Seeing Stacia again rocks Jordan’s world. She’s gorgeous, feisty, and hot…and also his best bud’s sister. No way can he have her for his own. But resisting the temptress proves harder than he thought.

When a male from a rival pride attempts to steal Stacia affections, Jordan sees red. No one is good enough for her…not even himself. But the feline temptress stars in his every fantasy. Maybe one more kiss will satisfy his hunger for her.

My review:
No many how many times it is done I still love the “I can’t be with you because your brother is my best friend…” story.  There comes a point where you have to question what is more important my happiness or that of my best friend.  I love watching the struggle especially when it comes in the form of a smoking hot golden tiger shifter.  This was such a fast read, and by that I mean I didn’t want it to end, I sat down and read it again.

Light My Fire (Dragon Kin #7) by G.A. Aiken

Blurb:
The trouble with humans is that they're far too sensitive. Forget you put a woman in the local jail for a few months--and she takes it so personally! And yet she is the one trying to assassinate the queen. And now I'm trapped with Elina Shestakova of the Black Bear Riders of the Midnight…gods! That endless name!
But what am I to do? I am Celyn the Charming with direct orders from my queen to protect this unforgiving female.
Even more shocking, this unforgiving female is completely unimpressed by me. How is that even possible? But I know what I want and, for the moment, I want her. And I'm sure that she, like all females, will learn to adore me. How could she not when I am just so damn charming?

My review:
Have you read the previous books in this series? No? STOP!  Do not read this book.  Go back and read the others. You’ll be glad you did.  If you’ve read the others in this series; sit down, strap in and get ready for another rip roaring laugh out ride with Annwyl and company.  This is nominally Celyn’s story but there is a lot going on and we get to check in with a bunch of old friends as they are facing a new and terrifying enemy.  Light My Fire was well worth the wait and leaves me wanting more.

Inked in the Steel City Series Box Set #1 by Ranae Rose

Blurb:

Ink is forever. So is love.

This box set includes Books 1-3 of the best-selling Inked in the Steel City Series. Follow the artists and staff of Pittsburgh's Hot Ink Tattoo Studio as they find true love and scorching passion.

HOT INK (Book 1)

Mina never meant to fall for her sexy tattoo artist, Eric, or to become a model. But when she's asked to pose in a photo shoot for the Hot Ink tattoo studio, she can't say no. She finally gets a look at Eric's tattoos when they're cajoled into posing together, and in a few breathtaking moments, an on-camera kiss turns the passion they're asked to fake into something very real, leaving them both wanting more. The only problem is that Mina's not the glamour girl she looks like on the Hot Ink posters, or even in a tattoo magazine. She's only twenty-four, but being the sole guardian of her disabled younger sister has left her feeling much older. Will Eric still be interested when he gets to know the girl behind the ink and the make-up and finds out that she and her little sister are a package deal?

INNOCENT INK (Book 2)

Photographing exceptional tattoos for the Hot Ink Tattoo Studio turns into much more than just a job when Karen meets Jed, the sexy-as-sin owner. With attraction sizzling between them, each photo shoot is a labor of love ... and a chance to get closer to the man of her increasingly naughty dreams.

Curvy, vivacious Karen is everything Jed would want in a woman, if he wanted one at all. But a relationship seems like too dangerous a gamble for someone who's loved before and suffered the ultimate loss. So why can't he resist when he discovers the attraction is mutual? Even if he were willing to risk everything again, Karen's too young, too full of life to be burdened with someone whose heart bears scars as permanent as the ink in his skin.

When the two finally face what lies between them, the passion is undeniably real, but will the unexpected extinguish the spark of their love, or fan the flames?

DEDICATED INK (Book 3)

A one night stand has never gone so wrong ... or so right. Two months after one scorchingly hot July night, tattoo artist Abby is pregnant and the man who showed her everything she'd been missing is nowhere in sight. When he walks into the Hot Ink Tattoo Studio looking for much more than some new ink, she risks their rekindled connection by confessing that she's pregnant ... with his twins.

Sworn to serve and protect, Pittsburgh police officer Sam isn't one to back down from responsibility, and he's definitely not going to let the woman who's been haunting his dreams all summer get away again. But two babies on the way means a reunion that's anything but what he imagined. Can unforgettable chemistry evolve into real love before her due date arrives?

My review:

The place to go in Pittsburgh to get your ink done is at the Hot Ink Studio.  The men and women of Hot Ink are so much more than their art.  Read these fast hot sweet reads and you will see what I mean.

HOT INK (Book 1)
Bank teller Mina feels 24 going on 40.  As guardian for her wheelchair bound 14 year old sister she doesn't get out much and can’t identify with her peers.  She meets sexy tattoo artist Eric when she decides to get a rather intricate tattoo.  He is nothing but professional while giving her the tattoo but when Mina's best friend rising photographer offers to take pictures of some of the ink work as advertisement for the shop Mina and Eric end up in close quarters and the chemistry between them is obvious.  With some pushing from her bff Mina agrees to a date with Eric.  But will he still want to go out with her when he finds out that he can't be her first priority?
I love that these characters are so real.  Mina is so strong but riddled with insecurity.  Eric is strong and sexy but not perfect either.  They are perfect for each other.  Hot Ink is a short book but it is filled with a terrific story with multiple sub plots.  It is well worth the read.  I do have one problem with it though.  The plot device to introduce the two is improbable given Mina’s character.  She wouldn’t spend the money necessary for a tattoo especially one that involved.  But once you get past that…

INNOCENT INK (Book 2)
Karen has a gift. Her photography is art. The photograph she took of her friend Mina’s tattoo got her noticed and Karen is now a full time photographer. She is still doing tattoo shots for the clientele of the Hot Ink tattoo studio where Mina and her fiancé work. Ever since she met Jed, the owner of Hot Ink, she has had a mad crush. Jed and Karen share a birthday and their friends throw them a joint party. When Jed drives her home the kiss they share has Karen thinking they could share more than a birthday.
You know you are invested in the characters when you want to reach out and smack them on the back of the head as I was want to do to Jed on several occasions. I really liked Karen when we met her in Hot Ink and was thrilled that she was going to get a story. Oh what a story. Jed is hot but he has issues. Karen is the best thing that could have happened to him. She drags him kicking and screaming back to life and love.

DEDICATED INK (Book 3)
Two months after a one night stand Abby discovers she is pregnant. She doesn't expect to ever see the guy again. When he shows up in Hot Ink for a tattoo it isn't by accident. He can’t stop thinking about the night they shared. But is he ready to be a father?
This story was by turns sweet, scary, funny, sad and oh so sexy. These two veritable strangers brought together by a night of passion and its consequence working together to make the best of things.

Love at First Roar (Grayslake #4) by Celia Kyle

Blurb:

What happens when a half-blind weremole girl falls for a scarred werebear guy? A match made in furry, dirt-caked heaven. Mostly.

Weremole Kira Kolanowski has spent twenty-nine-ish years of her life half-blind and occasionally half-dead. (Her family isn’t exactly loving.) In an effort to remain fully alive, she moves to Grayslake, Georgia, with her poor excuse for a guide dog—a guide dog who decides to lift his leg and relieve himself on sexy-smelling werebear Isaac Abrams’ belongings. And when he roars…well, it makes her heart go pitter-patter and other parts go “ooh baby, ooh baby.” Just when she thinks she might have found happiness, a raving she-bitch werebear chick tries to kill her with the same poison that scarred Isaac to hell and back. The poison that Kira’s family happens to manufacture…

Isaac Abrams is leaving Grayslake. He’s tried, lord how he’s tried, to settle into life in Grayslake after the birth of his niece, but it’s not happening. He’s been home for a year, and it’s been 365 plus days of women looking past him and flat-out pretending he doesn’t exist. The battle with the hyenas didn’t just ruin his face, it ruined his chances at finding a mate in his hometown. So, he’s leaving. Or he was leaving until one day a lush, curvaceous weremole wanders into his half-packed house with that damned peeing dog of hers…it’s a good thing she’s so gorgeous.

Maybe he will stay—stay and keep Kira Kolanowski all to himself. Well, once he kills everyone who’s trying to kill her.

My review:

This is the best of the Grayslake books in my humble opinion.  I really like Kira and Isaac.  Kira is a weremole (picture it) and new neighbor to wearbear Isaac.  She has escaped horrors untold living with her father & brothers pack.  Isaac is leaving Grayslake soon as he feels that no female will look past his scars and he wants a mate like his brothers have.  Kira as a weremole has inherited her animals’ weak eyesight so she is mostly blind.  It’s a match made in heaven if only Isaac can’t get his head out of his pity party long enough to see her and if she can stay alive long enough they might just be perfect for each other.
I really think you should read the first three books in order to get the most out of this book but it can be read standalone.  This book runs the full gamut of emotions.  Happy, sad, horrified, angry, amazed and horny.  If you love shifters this is a must read.

Taken (Shadow Creek Shifters #2) by Madison Johns

Blurb:
Katlyn settles into life at the Wyoming ranch of Shadow Creek, but now that she’s pregnant with the twins of her mates, mountain lion shifters Brendan and Chase, she’s more than a little nervous. How will her mates handle it when they learn she’s pregnant with twins, and will it change their intimate encounters? She hopes not, since she prefers to be taken any way possible.

Tessa’s transition to vampire has not been easy. The blood bank supply doesn’t suit her tastes and the medication that helps with the cravings has more side effects than it’s worth. Forced to feed her hunger on her own, Tessa goes searching away from Shadow Creek. Instead of hunting a wayward wild animal, she mistakenly attacks the new werewolf alpha, Raphael, who easily fends her off and hauls her back to Shadow Creek with his friend, Seth, along.

The arrival of the alpha and the mystery man sets Katlyn’s mind spinning as Brendan clams up and it’s clear that he and Seth have a history—one that her mate is not willing to discuss with her. Will Katlyn be able to help Tessa and sort out the mystery surrounding Seth’s appearance in Creeksboro, or does he pose a real danger to them all?

My review:
Taken takes up where Katlyn (Shadow Creek Shifters #1) leaves off.  Katlyn is happy, pregnant and in love with her two shifters.  Tessa is trying to adjust to her transformation to vampire.  I didn’t like this book as much as the first.  The dialogue was stilted and the story wasn’t as full.  This book could have been split between the end of the first one and the beginning of the next.  I like Katlyn and am intrigued by Tessa but this book just didn’t do it for me.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Mrs. Kaplan and the Matzoh Ball of Death by Mark Reutlinger

Blurb:

Move over, Miss Marple—Mark Reutlinger’s charming cozy debut introduces readers to the unforgettable amateur sleuth Rose Kaplan and her loyal sidekick, Ida.

Everyone knows that Rose Kaplan makes the best matzoh ball soup around—she’s a regular matzoh ball maven—so it’s no surprise at the Julius and Rebecca Cohen Home for Jewish Seniors when, once again, Mrs. K wins the honor of preparing the beloved dish for the Home’s seder on the first night of Passover.

But when Bertha Finkelstein is discovered facedown in her bowl of soup, her death puts a bit of a pall on the rest of the seder. And things go really meshugge when it comes out that Bertha choked on a diamond earring earlier stolen from resident Daisy Goldfarb. Suddenly Mrs. K is the prime suspect in the police investigation of both theft and murder. Oy vey—it’s a recipe for disaster, unless Rose and her dear friend Ida can summon up the chutzpah to face down the police and solve the mystery themselves.

My review:
I received a copy of the book via NetGalley for an honest review. I’ll admit I asked to review this book because I loved the title.  This is a cute cozy mystery with charming characters and a good storyline.  But OY! The Yiddish. I was reminded of visiting my Bubbe in Florida and her friends.  Ida as the narrator can get off track sometimes and that can be distracting but if you can get by that this is an enjoyable read.

Rocky Mountain Miracle by Christine Feehan

Blurb:

No Christmas will ever be the same after Cole and Maia meet on a snowy western ranch… Find out why in #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan’s romantic holiday e-novella!

When Cole Steele, a womanizer rumored to have killed his father, meets Maia Armstrong, a veterinarian rumored to practice magic, the sizzling romance could melt all the snow on his Wyoming ranch. And when an injured horse brings them together, Cole can’t help but believe that Maia casts spells on animals—and men. What else could explain the burning passion he feels for her and the thawing of his heart just in time for Christmas?

Blurb:
Magical! I know that is said about a lot of holiday books but it is definitely true about this one.  This book is perfectly balanced part dark, part light, a pinch of paranormal; mix in Christine Feehan’s magic touch and you have a heck of a holiday read without all the saccharine.  Fans of Christine Feehan’s Drake Sisters will adore this.

The Job (Fox and O'Hare #3) by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg and The Shell Game (Fox and O'Hare 0.25)

Blurb:
He’s a charming con man and she’s a dedicated FBI agent, and they’re about to drive each other crazy . . . again!

The FBI had one demand when they secretly teamed up Special Agent Kate O’Hare with charming con man Nicolas Fox—bring down the world’s most-wanted and untouchable felons. This time it’s the brutal leader of a global drug-smuggling empire. The FBI doesn’t know what their target looks like, where he is, or how to find him, but Nick Fox has a few tricks up his sleeve to roust this particular Knipschildt chocolate–loving drug lord.

From the streets of Nashville to the back alleys of Lisbon, from the rooftops of Istanbul to the middle of the Thames, Nick and Kate chase their mark. When they find themselves pitted against a psychopathic bodyguard and a Portuguese enforcer who gets advice from a pickled head, they decide it’s time to enlist some special talent—talent like a machete-wielding Somali pirate, a self-absorbed actor, an Oscar-winning special effects artist, and Kate’s father Jake, a retired Special Forces operative. Together they could help make this Fox and O’Hare’s biggest win yet . . . if they survive.

My review:
Another exciting adventure with Kate and Nick.  If you mix:

 It Takes a Thief

 or White Collar

and Mission Impossible

with Janet Evanovich’s sense of humor and Lee Goldberg’s mystery and adventure you get Fox and O'Hare.  This series just keeps getting better and better.  This is a fast paced, easy to read, mind bender that will leave you tired but smiling.  There are some genuine laugh out loud moments that will keep you going through the tense times.  I like that Kate and Nick seem to be loosening up a little.  I think I am a little bit in love with Kate’s dad.  I truly hope this ensemble cast continues to entertain us for a good many books to come.

Want to know how Nick & Kate first met?
Read the e-short

Blurb:
Con man Nick Fox is after Garson Klepper’s golden Peruvian relics. For Fox, convincing Klepper to hire him as security for the relocation of the relics to the Getty museum in L.A. was easy. Problem is, Fox wasn’t planning on Klepper also enlisting the help of the FBI. Fox also wasn’t planning on being paired up with rookie special agent Kate O’Hare. She’s smart, she’s tenacious, and when she’s conned, she holds a grudge. Life for Fox and O’Hare will never be the same again.

My review:
This is a prequel to the Fox and O’Hare series. It tells how Nick & Kate first met and like the rest of the series is loads of fun.

Take a Chance: Erotic Romance Boxed Set by Caridad Piñeiro

Blurb:

Three sexy novellas about risking it all for a chance at love and passion . . .

JUST ONE NIGHT

Jason Hart has just one night to prove to his best friend's older sister that anything is possible . . .

Nicole de Salvo has been in love – and lust – for her little brother’s best friend for years. For years she’s watched from afar and done nothing about her attraction for Jason Hart only now their time together is almost at an end. On their last night together will she find the courage to do something about her feelings, or will she live with regret for the rest of her life?

ONE SPECIAL NIGHT

It's been nearly six months since Tommy de Salvo’s fiancée cheated and left him in the midst of wedding preparations because up-and-coming businessman Tommy was all work and no play. The last thing Tommy wants or needs is to be attracted to another woman who won’t be around for too long. A woman just like Navy Corpsman Jasmine Reyes. She’s rough, tough, and determined to go it alone, but Tommy knows that if he passes up this opportunity, he may regret it more than the loss of his fiancée ...

Jasmine “Doc” Reyes is both emotionally and physically scarred after her tour of duty. Wounded in battle, all she can think about is rebuilding her life and continuing with the career that she’s dreamed about since she was a young child. She has no time for rich sexy men who’ve never had a care in the world and wouldn’t understand her determination. But Tommy’s charm is seductive and she knows that she has to explore the attraction, even if it’s only for this one special night.

ONE LAST NIGHT

It's been over a year since Marine Lieutenant Trevor Mason and his father have spoken. After nearly losing his life during a Taliban attack in Afghanistan, Trevor wants to end the rift between them so he can return to active duty with some peace of mind. But a visit to his father’s office only serves to show Trevor that his father isn’t as eager to reunite. If not for the intervention of Samuel Mason’s spunky and very sexy intern, Trevor would probably be returning to Afghanistan with his one wish unfulfilled.

Trevor Mason had used to do all kinds of things to Maggie Sullivan’s insides when she worked at the country club his family used to attend. Five years later, there is little left of the teen she knew in the stoic Marine who only wants some time with his father. When Trevor’s father backs out of his son’s dinner invitation at the last minute, Maggie does the only thing she can: she goes to Trevor’s apartment to deliver the news, but she can’t leave him alone on his one last night before returning to duty.

Thrown together, Trevor and Maggie can’t ignore the sexual heat between them. As they satisfy one set of needs, another slowly develops as passion breathes life into other emotions. Will Trevor and Maggie’s one last night together possibly lead to many other nights in the future?

My review:

How long does it take to fall in love?  How long do you need to know that they are for you?  You will never know unless you take a chance.  These three loosely connected steamy novellas give the opportunity for a military hero to find their happily ever after but only if they put it all on the line.  Facing enemy fire might just be easier than risking their hearts.

JUST ONE NIGHT – Jase has loved his best friend Tommy’s sister Nicole, for what seems all his life but the “bro code” and his own fear of screwing it up has kept him from making his move.  When Tommy tells him “Go big or go home.” Jase has one night to convince Nicole of his feelings.  He uses his body, heart and soul to give her a night to convince her to give them a chance at a future together.  Woulda worked for me. J

ONE SPECIAL NIGHT This is a case of love finding you when you least expect it.  Sexy Tommy de Salvo is the Best Man at Jase & Nicole’s (from Just One Night) wedding.  He is single and not looking.  Navy medic Jasmine “Doc” Reyes is attending the wedding because she served with Jase and was injured in the same event that sent him home for medical leave and allowed him to marry the love of his life.  She doesn’t need a man in her life right now as she is leaving the military and making major life changes.  But the chemistry between her and Tommy is off the charts so maybe a wedding hook up will take the edge off.  What they don’t expect is the conflagration between them and oh my goodness you will need a towel after this one.

ONE LAST NIGHT Marine Lieutenant Trevor Mason is about to rejoin his unit in Afghanistan after being home on medical leave. His experience has made him want to repair his relationship with his father who was not thrilled with his choice to serve in the military rather than go into business with him.  Maggie was the cute girl who waited on them at the country club but now she is all grown up and working as an intern for Trevor’s dad.  Getting to his father means going through her.  He has never had a more delightful mission.  This story was a sweet second chance story between father and son. I was disappointed with how fast Maggie fell into the sack with Trevor but the rest of the story more than made up for it.

I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas (Half Moon Hollow #2.7) by Molly Harper

Blurb:
It's Christmas in Half-Moon Hollow and newly turned vampire Iris Scanlon-Calix wants to make Gigi's first visit home from college as normal and special as possible. It's taken months for Iris to work up the nerve to spend time around her baby sister after her vampire transition, so she enlists help from Jane Jameson and Company to keep her blood-thirst under control and assure Gigi's safety.

Gigi, on the other hand, has problems of her own, including the demise of her relationship with high school sweetheart, Ben, and a looming job interview with Ophelia Lambert, the scariest potential employer in the Hollow. And then there's the small matter of the handsome, frustrating vampire who keeps appearing in Gigi's peripheral vision, then disappearing before she can talk to him.

Can the Scanlon sisters negotiate romantic problems, vampire politics, and Christmas cookie disasters and enjoy a relatively normal holiday?

My Review:
Another laugh out loud installment in the world of Half Moon Hollow. This Christmas tale brings together all of our friends from Half Moon Hollow to welcome Gigi home from college and to celebrate the season together. As anybody who has read any of the Jane Jameson or Half Moon Hollow books knows there is hilarity to be had any time you get two or more of the gang together so when they are all together you can just imagine. When regular folks get together for the holidays there is plenty of fodder for fun but add in vampires and werewolves and you can take up a notch or two. I do hope we will get to find out more about Gigi and her mysterious admirer soon. And the recipes at the end sound yummy too.
