Badger to the Bone (Honey Badger Chronicles #3) by Shelly Laurenston

Blurb:
She’s the woman he’s been hired to kidnap. But ZeZé Vargas has other ideas . . . like getting them both out of this nightmare alive. Just one problem. She’s crazy. Certifiably. Because while he’s plotting their escape, the petite Asian beauty is plotting something much more deadly . . .

Max “Kill It Again” MacKilligan has no idea what one of her own is doing with all these criminal humans until she realizes that Zé has no idea who or what he is. Or exactly how much power he truly has.

But Max is more than happy to bring this handsome jaguar shifter into her world and show him everything he’s been missing out on. A move that might be the dumbest thing she’s ever done once she realizes how far her enemies will go to wipe her out. Too bad for them Zé is willing to do whatever it takes to keep her alive . . . and honey badgers are just so damn hard to kill!

My review:
Badger to the Bone is just as manic and complicated as Max “Kill It Again” MacKilligan. Max has depths we haven’t plumbed to date. She is much more than a crazy killing machine. I really enjoyed seeing the multifaceted sides of Max and I think its poetic she falls for a cat. This book much like Max will leave you dizzy and wondering what hit you. I LOVED IT!

Bound to Them (Witches of Rose Lake #4) by Lia Davis

Blurb:
I’ve been on the run and underground for too long.

I’m Brooke Walker, witch/wolf hybrid and tracker for Sunshine Lives.

I've been off of Harrison's radar since I mated with the twins: Reid and Raven. The bond between us gives me a false sense of protection. However, I’m still looking over my shoulder. Because one day my past will catch up to me.

When I learn my father has control of the council and Harrison is the one being hunted, a new fear rises within me. The evil ex-councilman is desperately looking for the relics to complete a spell that could save all paras or curse them.

I contact my Source to confirm the information that could send me on the run, again. He wants to meet in person. He’s always been an informant. No name. No face. When we finally meet, he reveals secrets I’m not ready for.

Including the fact that he’s my third mate.

Bound to Them is the fourth installment of the action-packed paranormal, reverse harem series, Witches of Rose Lake by USA Today Bestselling Author Lia Davis.

Reading Order

Marked for Them

Fighting for Them

Hunted by Them

Bound to Them

Sacrifice for Them

My review:
Bound to Them is a terrific addition to this series. This is basically Brooke’s story but involves a lot of intrigue revolving around Harrison and the council. Like the others in this series it is smoking hot with lots of action and adventure. It can be read standalone but I believe you’ll enjoy it more if you’ve read the others first.

Dementor (Rolling Thunder MC Birmingham #1) by Candace Blevins

Blurb:
Dementor's a grizzly bear shifter. In human form, he's a huge mountain of a man who works as a bouncer for the MC’s strip club. The decimated Birmingham RTMC is struggling after most of their members died during the battle between good and evil, but the small group of brothers who survived form a tight group.

Ember is a swan shifter who was owned by the Owl King for years — a princess given in tribute, but she grew to love him despite the fact it wasn’t a healthy relationship. When he was killed in the battle, she found herself alone and adrift.

Worlds collide when a grizzly bear and a swan from opposite worlds find common ground. This is about more than princess and biker, it’s about a monogamous creature in a relationship with one who isn’t, it’s about a protective personality versus a woman who hasn’t been free to be herself for years. Is she even capable of having a normal relationship? Because now, anything short of total freedom feels a bit like having her wings clipped all over again.

But she’s going to transition to a dragon soon, and clipping a swan’s wings is one thing, while clipping a dragon’s wings is an entirely different matter.

My review:
Dementor is the first book in a spin-off of the Rolling Thunder MC Chattanooga series. This tells of the brutal rebuilding of a swan shifter’s life. It is going to take a bit of what she suffered to bring her to a point where she knows what and who she wants. I liked Ember and ached for what she’d been through but rejoiced with every step she took to reclaiming her life. This story requires a strong stomach and a willingness to go through hell and come out the other side.

Shameless With Him (Less Than #3) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Carrie Ann Ryan completes a sexy contemporary series with an unrequited crush on the bad boy next door.

Caleb Carr might have once been ready for commitment, but when the unexpected slams into him with the force of a two-ton truck, he knows he has to run away from anything that might be important. Zoey might well be his final temptation, but to keep her whole, he’ll walk away.

Zoey Wager has loved Caleb since they were eight. And has had her heart broken from afar repeatedly ever since. It doesn’t help that every time she sees him—even when she’s running away halfway across the world—he’s with another woman. She's watched him fall in lust her entire life. Now, she's ready to watch him fall in love. With her.

My review:
Shameless With Him is a sweet and sad story of unrequited love.  Caleb is such a man, I wanted to Gibbs slap him more than once. Zoey was too sweet for her own good. But when they finally get together it makes your heart sing.

Attracting Aubrey (Gone Wild #3) by Avery Flynn

Blurb:
I never dreamed I’d meet my celebrity crush while stealing every single pair of my best friend’s pants.

Trust me, my life is not that wild. In fact, the most excitement I usually get is running my fan-favorite Insta thirst account featuring butt-tastic pics of Hollywood superhero Carter Hayes. So, imagine my shock when, in the middle of the cruise ship hallway, I realize the guy whose shirt I'm stuffing slacks inside of is Carter disguised as a tourist. How I manage not to faint dead away, I've got no clue.

When word leaks that Carter might be on board, he asks me to help him maintain his cover. There’s no way I’m gonna say no to that. I just don't share that I’m the anonymous woman behind the fan account that reported sighting him onboard. No biggie. Right?

However, when things between us go from friendly to hot to OMG-I-can’t-keep-my-clothes-on-around-him, all I can do is hope he never discovers my secret. You see, somewhere along the way, Carter went from an untouchable movie star to the man I’m falling for.

Five friends. One singles cruise. So many sexy shenanigans.

Blurb:
All work and no play is no way to enjoy this cruise.

Executive Director Grace Kim figures this reunion with her college friends is the perfect excuse to prove that she knows how to keep work/life balance and enjoy the Caribbean, preferably with her pants intact.

Rich, sexy, brilliant Bryan Wu has an app for that, and he charms Grace into helping him test it. He offers seven days of the best vacation of her life (bonus, sizzling chemistry) before they return to reality, but he didn't anticipate just how much of his heart he'd give her.

When an accidental error results in a humiliating video of her online, Grace must salvage her career and decide whether to erase Bryan from her memory forever or admit they brought out the best in each other.

Alex Jeffries is on his first vacation in over ten years, and he hates every second of it. He can’t stop thinking about what could be going wrong with the bar he owns back home, at least until he meets Kendall and forgets about everything but kissing her. Maybe a party cruise wasn’t the worst idea after all…

Blurb:

At Arcantaria, the other students treat Dash like dirt until he manages to join the exclusive Olympus Club… a group with an agenda. A scary one.

No one—not even the students—knows where Arcantaria is located, so Jazz is desperate when he picks up danger vibes from Dash. He and his friends set out to find the school and break in. When they realize what the club is training Dash to do—and the dire consequences if he succeeds—they know the human race is in danger, and they’ll have to step up and save it.

But first they have to save themselves.

My review:
I am loving this adventure. This fast paced story is filled with angst and intrigue. Dash and the gang have been split up by attending their various secondary education locations. When Dash finds himself being swept up by a group with an agenda he knows they are going to have to get the gang back together to once again save the day. I love that they all realize that it takes working together to make things happen. This story wraps some things up and leaves us with some intriguing questions, This story will be better if you’ve read Hidden Powers (Superordinary Society #1) but can be read standalone as well.

Edge of Darkness: Episode Three "Detour" - A Serialized Paranormal Romance (Paranormal Investigations Unlimited #3) by Paige Tyler

Blurb:
Ghosts, Ghouls, and Spirits…
Oh, my!

As Logan Malone and Presley Kincaid try to piece together reasons how Carson Del Vecchio’s ghost is able to kill in the real world, Logan gets a call from a priest who needs help. Ghouls are wreaking havoc on the church grounds. Once they arrive, Presley stays inside with the injured padre while Logan goes hunting the ghouls. Unfortunately they find Presley first, but thankfully, Logan shows up in the nick of time. When he wraps her in his arms, she realizes the feelings she has for him scare her as much as the ghouls!

Later at Logan’s, they discuss Presley’s ability to see ghosts when no one else can. She tells him that she died the night Del Vecchio attacked her and paramedics brought her back to life. Logan’s convinced that’s when she got her power. On the other hand, he doesn’t want to think about the power she’s got over him. Each day he’s more attracted to her and the thought of having her in his bed is downright haunting his dreams.

But he can’t afford to let his attention wander. She was nearly killed at the church. One way or another, he’ll need to ignore his attraction while keeping her closer than ever.

This is Episode 3 of 5 in Edge of Darkness from the Paranormal Investigations Unlimited Series.

My review:
This installment brings Logan and Presley closer but frustratingly no closer to finding Del Vecchio’s ghost. Logan and Presley reveal new sides of their personalities to each other and things get hot.  Bring on the next installment.

Dr. Diana Lutz is the Were Wolf sent by the Were leaders to stop him, and to find and hopefully free Justin, her twin. CW: Violence against the captured Were by the government

My review:
Lab Rats tells us the story of Dr. Diana Lutz a werewolf who’s brother outed werewolves on television. Diana is determined to find and save her brother from being tested and tortured by the government. This is a battle against time. She never expected to find her mate along the way. Blurb:
A homicide detective’s violent family history repeats itself in #1 Amazon Charts and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh’s novel of murder, secrets, and retribution.

For more than twenty-five years, Philadelphia homicide detective Bree Taggert has tucked away the nightmarish childhood memories of her parents’ murder-suicide…Until her younger sister, Erin, is killed in a crime that echoes that tragic night: innocent witnesses and a stormy marriage that ended in gunfire. There’s just one chilling difference. Erin’s husband, Justin, has vanished.

Teaming up with Justin’s old friend, former sheriff’s investigator and K-9 handler Matt Flynn, Bree vows to uncover the secrets of her sister’s life and death, as she promised Erin’s children. But as her investigation unfolds, the danger hits close to home. Once again, Bree’s family is caught in a death grip. And this time, it could be fatal for her.

My review:
Cross Her Heart is the first in what looks to be an exciting new series. Bree Taggert is a homicide cop who left the town of her birth and rarely if ever goes back. When her sister calls for help Bree is forced back home and to deal with the issues she left behind. Bree is smart, driven and flawed. This mystery gives us several suspects and motives. Bree is used to that but family not so much. This book will suck you in and not let you go till long after the last page,

Matzah Ball Surprise by Laura Brown

Blurb:
This Passover is starting to feel like the ten plagues might be coming back to haunt them before the weekend is over...one hilarious misstep after the next.

Gaby Fineberg just wants to get through Passover Seder without her “well meaning” family playing matchmaker. She needs a date, just for one simple meal—that includes singing, the history of her forefathers, and not one bit of yeast. The hot guy at her gym would be perfect. He probably hates bread, anyway, with a body like that. But when she finally works up the nerve to ask him...he doesn’t hear a word she said.

Levi Miller is deaf and happily single. Initially, he doesn’t know why this beautiful woman is talking to him, but it’s clear she needs help—and suddenly so does he. In a very complicated situation, Levi finds a simple solution. Gaby will pretend to be his new girlfriend to bail him out, and he’ll return the favor. But he didn’t bargain for a family dinner quite like this one...

My review:
Matzah Ball Surprise by Laura Brown is a delightfully sweet fake boyfriend tale that takes place during the Passover holiday. Gaby needs someone to distract her family and the hot guy from the gym she’s been ogling for months might just be the thing. Levi has issues of his own. But they may each be just what the other needs. These two are funny, bright and adorable together. I loved that the author featured a deaf hero. You don’t have to be Jewish to enjoy this story.

Alexander Colton isn’t who everyone thinks he is—a drunk, abrasive headhunter for some of the nastiest individuals in the city. The truth is, he’s a unicorn. Oh, and he’s an undercover agent for the Federal Paranormal Unit, hot on the trails of a vicious serial killer.

SHE CAN'T ESCAPE FATE…

TIME IS RUNNING OUT…
Colton knows Sybrina is his mate, but he pushes her away to keep her safe. Then he thwarts an attempt to kidnap her, and they’re thrust into a hiding together. Someone is after Sybrina. Colton knows who, but only Sybrina knows why—and she’s not telling. In order to save her life and end a vicious pattern of murders, they’ll have to work together and stop keeping secrets.

My review:
This is a well written, well thought out tale of a unicorn shifter and a virginal mate. The author could have gone any number of ways with this story but what she gave us was a heck of a story. Drama, angst, danger and love.  Agent Colton isn’t your light and fluffy unicorn shifter and Sybrina may be a virgin but the chemistry between the two builds fast.  I really enjoyed this story.

A Valentine’s Book Coupling by Lia Violet & Trinity Blacio

Blurb:
Two Paranormal Valentine’s Day Novellas!

The Cupid Crush by Lia Violet

Librarian Lucy’s teen volunteer group does not want anything red or pink with cute sayings to celebrate love, and she is in total agreement. At their Un-Valentine party, they crush candy hearts with a hammer even while making cards and nice decorations for the Cupid's Dance veteran fundraiser.

Mack is helping remodel the local VFW hall after a fire before a big Valentine’s Day fundraiser, but this is the busy season for him and his Cupid shifter siblings. When he goes to the library to ask for help for the veterans’ event, Mack is surprised to find that even Cupid can be struck by the arrow.

Cupid Hits the Local VFW by Trinity Blacio

Red Riding had heard it all. At 58, been married with kids and was now widowed. She wasn’t done with life, but she also wanted to make a difference. However, the little weasel at the Volunteer agency’s sick sense of humor really pissed her off, sending her into the local Wolf VFW to help organize a Cupid’s Dance for a bunch of Veteran Wolves.

General Zack Danger had done his duty to his country for over 20 years, trying to forget his mate that had been killed so long ago. Their kids were all grown now, so he spent most of his time at the club, trying to help others after stepping down as Alpha of the pack, now Alpha for the VFW-Wolves International.

What he wasn’t expecting was the gorgeous redhead stepping into the club setting off every protective bone in his body when the other wolves started to sniff around her. His wolf was bound and determined to mate with the curvy woman.

My review:
Two sweet and spicy shorts in one book.
The Cupid Crush by Lia Violet pairs a sassy librarian and a cupid shifter. Lucy has a heart of gold and a smile that lights up the room. Mack is supposed to fiind others but when he sees Lucy he is smitten. It is a lot of fun watching them get together.
Cupid Hits the Local VFW by Trinity Blacio is a wonderful tale of older lovers finding that love is lovelier the second time around. I loved Zack & Red. They are playful and sweet. Smoking hot too.
