Esteemed Vampire Cat (Colt Harper #1) by Tyrolin Puxty

Blurb:
Colt Harper hates it when you pat a cat the wrong way, or when you upload their faux pas to YouTube. In fact, he'll probably kill you for it.

As a self-proclaimed master vampire cat, Colt never imagined he'd be sent to community service at a revolting community theater. And for what? Killing humans who don't buy the expensive brand of cat food? Talk about unfair.

Still, working with a nervous werewolf and a monster addicted to tickling wasn't on his to-do list.

What's worse, is he's falling for a human. Sure, she has green eyes. Sure, she fosters stray cats. But she's still a disgusting human.

So why is he risking his own life to save her from the chasers?

My review:
Colt Harper: Esteemed Vampire Cat is a quirky, tongue in cheek paranormal work of art. Take a conflicted werewolf, Jax, a tickle fairy with control issues, Lexie, and an Esteemed Vampire Cat, Colt, who enjoys being evil and throw them together for community service and you are asking for trouble. Now add in some Chasers (humans who protect the world from the monsters) and a newbie vampire cat and you have a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and rollicking with laughter. If you are looking for something different give Colt and the gang a try.

The Legend (Sons of Texas #3) by Donna Grant

Blurb:
A LONE STAR LOVER
Callie Reed doesn’t need a man to protect her. An expert sharpshooter and renegade hacker, this Texas-born spitfire’s got the skills and the courage to stand up to any danger―no matter how deadly. But when she becomes the target of a shadowy organization known as the Saints, Callie is forced to team up with the one man she can’t outshoot: the gorgeous, and infuriating, Lone Star legend named Wyatt Loughman…
A Delta Force Colonel with a rock-hard body and stone-cold heart, Wyatt has been teasing and tormenting Callie since they were playmates on his family’s ranch. Of course, he’s wildly attracted to the fiery, strong-willed Callie. But he’s always hidden his feelings behind a wall of Texas tough and military cool, even as he’s burning up with desire. Can Wyatt save Callie’s life―without putting her love in the line of fire?

My review:
This book will tear your heart out and then put things right. Callie Reed has pulled herself up and out of more than one bad situation in life and kept moving forward. Even when Wyatt Loughman stomped on her heart. She kept going. Now he is back and old feelings are making themselves known. She will keep on going.
Wyatt Loughman has forced himself not to feel. Ever since his mother’s murder he has put emotion to the side except when it came to Callie Reed. But he knew he had things to do so he put her aside as well but the feelings never did manage to go away. Now there are folks wanting to kill them can he face that without telling her how he feels?
This story drops you into the middle of a war zone with conspiracies and unknowns everywhere. The only thing you can trust is your heart.
Even though this is part of a series you can read it stand-alone. Fair warning it will have you reaching for the previous books while anxiously awaiting the next.

Murder at the Puppy Fest (Melanie Travis #20) by Laurien Berenson

Blurb:

Frolicking with dogs is Melanie Travis's idea of heaven. So when she's invited to be a "puppy wrangler" at a benefit for a local dog rescue, the last thing she expects is to be chasing after a tricky killer...

As a busy mom and pedigree Poodle owner, Melanie has little time to spare. Still, she doesn't mind helping out at Puppy Fest, an annual fundraiser to benefit Puppy Posse, a local dog rescue organization. Considering the venue--Belle Haven mansion, owned by wealthy philanthropist Leo Brody--it's shaping up to be the can't-miss charity event of the summer. Unfortunately, when Melanie's breeding background lands her in the doghouse with Jane, Leo's snappy daughter who runs the rescue, Melanie finds herself simultaneously managing Puppy Fest and the millionaire's hopelessly fractious family.

But once Puppy Fest kicks off, Leo is nowhere to be found--until Melanie discovers his current mistress crouching over his dead body. According to police, the father of nine's severe nut allergy went into overdrive after he accidentally consumed a contaminated cookie. However, Libby, one of Leo's children and a friend of Melanie's Aunt Peg, believes someone deliberately put him down for good. And now, she's begging a reluctant Melanie to unearth the secrets hidden by the Brody pack. But the closer Melanie gets to fetching answers, the higher the stakes become--and the more she realizes that she's chasing a criminal who's been groomed to win...

My review:

How could I not have known about this series? I saw the cover and read the blurb and never realized it was part of a series. And you know what? It didn’t matter. I read this cozy mystery and enjoyed every page. The author knows and is comfortable with her characters and you will be too. The mystery kept me guessing and the characters kept me laughing. I learned a whole lot about poodles and you can be sure I will be checking out the previous books.

Who’s the culprit and who’s the victim? Can Megan and Brigit sniff out the truth. . .before somebody ends up dead?

Enforcing the Paw is part of Diane Kelly's fun and smart Paw Enforcement series.

My review:

Enforcing the Paw is the newest addition to one of my favorite mystery series. Officer Megan Luz and her pawed partner Brigit are back and while this may not be the most dangerous case they’ve had it may be the most perplexing. This case will keep you along with Megan trying to figure out who done it.
I LOVE this series! There is a great cast of characters and enough humor to keep you chuckling throughout. I love that Megan isn’t perfect but she keeps on trying.

Semper Fi Cowboy (Lone Star Leathernecks #1) by Heather Long

Blurb:
A Leatherneck by any other name can still kick ass, which is just what retired United States Marine Corps Captain Tanner Wilks plans to do when he returns to his Texas family ranch to care for his ailing father. And nothing will stop him from achieving his mission—not even a lithe, brown-eyed town veterinarian who seems hell-bent on driving him wild.

Captain Tanner Wilks, honorably discharged from the U.S. Marine Corps, returns home to find his father struggling after his latest heart attack. Worse yet, Julia Heller—the sexy new girl in town that he once spent a hot night with—is the resident veterinarian who’s made a home for herself at Round Top ranch, and doesn’t seem to be in a rush to repeat their time together.

It falls on Tanner’s shoulders to take on the ranch and keep an eye on his father before he falls victim to another heart attack. But Julia doesn’t appreciate Tanner coming in or pursuing her. Even if he’s hot as hell and can make her quiver with just a look. Ousting her may give Tanner the leverage he needs to corral his father, but first he has to wrestle with his own heart.

My review:
“He can be taught” echoed through my mind several times as I laughed and sighed my way through Semper Fi Cowboy by Heather Long.
Tanner Wilks is hero material through and through. He is sexy, strong and he knows how to dance. But like any other man he comes with issues.
Veterinarian Julia Heller is smart, sexy and strong enough to put Tanner in his place and teach him a thing or two.
When these two meet it is pure story time magic. Their interaction will keep you flipping pages and longing to spend more time with them.

Wedding Bells at Butterfly Cove (Butterfly Cove #2) by Sarah Bennett

Blurb:

A second chance by the sea?
When Kiki Jackson’s marriage falls to pieces, there’s only one place that she knows she can escape to – her sister’s little guesthouse in Butterfly Cove.

But she’s worried that turning up on bride-to-be Mia’s doorstep, especially with her two adorable children in tow, will spoil her sister’s imminent wedding plans!

Luckily, handsome neighbour Aaron Spenser offers to share his new cottage with Kiki until she’s back on her feet. And as the wedding draws closer, Kiki realises that Butterfly Cove may be offering her little family more than just a new home…

Maybe this is where her new life begins…?

An uplifting and heartwarming read, perfect for fans of Trisha Ashley, Rachael Lucas and Hilary Boyd.

My review:

Wedding Bells at Butterfly Cove is the sweet follow up to Sunrise at Butterfly Cove (Butterfly Cove #1).
This time it’s Kiki’s story. Kiki has been living in a physical and emotionally abusive marriage and the final straw is when she finds out that her husband has been cheating on her. She takes the kids and escapes to Butterfly Cove. There she is surrounded by her sister and the cast of characters she has collected. They allow her the time and support she needs to forgive herself and heal.

Aaron Spenser is Daniels best friend and is not without some emotional baggage. When he meets Kiki and her kids he is determined not to fall but the best laid plans of mice and men…
I really enjoyed this visit to Butterfly Cove and its inhabitants. This is a sweet, feel good, clean love story that will get you in the awwws.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this copy of the book which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Tempting Levi (Cade Brothers Book 1) by Jules Barnard

Blurb:

Cade men are known for two things: arrogance and competitiveness. I grew up in one of the wealthiest, most dysfunctional families in Lake Tahoe, and all I wanted was to get the hell out. I thought I'd succeeded. Until an accident burned up my firefighter ambitions. Then Dad died and left me in charge of the family's luxury resort.

If it were only my inheritance on the line, I'd walk and never look back, but I've always taken care of my four younger brothers.

Now I've got financially uptight advisors telling me what to do, and I need someone I can trust working at my side. The perfect candidate walks through the door in her pencil skirt, fitted white blouse, and that mass of wavy blond hair she tries to contain.

The only problem? She's my cheating ex's younger sister.

Hell no. The last thing I need is another Wright female in my life.

But Emily's good at the job, and she seems trustworthy. I should ignore the desire I have for her. But after all I've lost, I'm tempted by what I can't have and ready to stoke the flame that smolders between us. As long as this Wright sister doesn't betray me the way the last one did.

Then again, I always liked playing with fire.

*Each book in the Cade Brothers series is a standalone story that can be read in any order.*

Tempting Levi (Cade Brothers, Book 1)
Daring Wes (Cade Brothers, Book 2)
Seducing Bran (Cade Brothers, Book 3)
Reforming Hunt (Cade Brothers, Book 4)

My review:

I picked this up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. A bit of romance, a bit of angst and a whole lot of fun. And while there were times I wanted to put Levi and his brothers through a wall Emily made it worth the read. This is a twist on the best friends little sister trope. This is a my big sisters ex-boyfriend and oh the issues that provides. Fans of Jill Shalvis and early Lori Foster will love this. This is the first I’ve read by this author but I assure you it won’t be the last.

Sorority Row (Turnskin University Book 2) by TL Reeve, Michele Ryan

Blurb:
The Greek Shifter Games have come to a close, and Bell must focus on gaining enough pledges to keep her house. Sigma Epsilon Xi doesn’t have tons of money. Nor do they have tons of sisters. They need ten pledges in thirty days or they’ll lose their ramshackle house. Add to it, their house is on the verge of being condemned. And, as if her life isn’t hard enough already, she has two dominant males hot on her tail—Christoph and Jackson.

Things take a turn for the worst, when she has to make a good impression for Christoph’s parents. She has to deal with the questions from her father and her uncles, as well. At every turn, however, one situation or another arises, threatening the progress she’s making.

Christoph and Jackson don’t see eye to eye on a lot of things, but mating Bell—claiming her for their own—drives their every action. But both men have secrets. Can they put their differences aside and team up to be who she needs?

With the help of 555-ROAR, can these mates find their way, or will the stresses of Greek life, keep them apart?

My review:
m/f/m
Sorority Row is a paranormal, YA, ménage complete with mean girls, haters and misfits.  It would help if you’ve read Unrequited Mate (Turnskin University #1) but it stands well on its own.
Bell is smart, sweet and growing stronger every day. Campus life is forcing her to make decisions that will affect not only her but those that count on her. She should be getting more help from the men who call her their mate but they have problems of their own. This book is high energy from the first page to the last. It has to be because there is a lot going on. Still it is well worth it to see Bell come into her own.

Protecting His Interests (Hot Heroes In Blue #1) by Suzanne Rock

Blurb:
What if the roles in the movie Pretty Woman got switched?

After spending months undercover at a high-end escort service, Special Agent Gabriel Ferreira hits a dead end in his case. Then a gorgeous art restorer picks him as her date, and his luck changes in more ways than one.
Gabe won’t let Scarlett Bishop come between him and his goal of taking down Miami’s newest serial killer, no matter how great she is in bed. Unfortunately, the more he tries to distance himself from the sexy redhead, the more tangled up she becomes in his investigation. Now she has a target on her back, and he must figure out her connection to the killer and keep her safe at the same time. Every second he spends with the sarcastic beauty, he becomes more infatuated. Now if only he can keep his hands off of Scarlett’s gorgeous body and concentrate on his mission before they both become pawns in the killer’s dangerous game.

My review:
Protecting His Interests is a second chance romance/romantic suspense with a fun hook. The problem is that despite being loaded with smoking hot sex scenes I wasn’t feeling the love until the very end. It took way too long for the heroine to wise up. The mystery was predictable but enjoyable. I’d chalk this one up as check your brain at the door and enjoy.

Cover Fire (Valiant Knox #3) by Jess Anastasi

Blurb:

He'll protect her with his life...but who will protect his heart?

If the assignment is crazy, dangerous, or a little of both, Sub-Lieutenant Sebastian Rayne can’t help but take on the challenge. So when Command Intelligence tags him to fly one of their agents behind enemy lines, it seems like just another routine death-defying mission. Crash landing on the planet was a piece of cake, but the gorgeous agent he delivered safely to her meeting is now believed dead and he must return to retrieve her body.

After Agent Jenna Maxwell realizes her own people attempted to have her killed, she enlists the hot stick jockey’s help. His new mission? Sneak her back onto his ship to ferret out who wanted to get rid of her and why. But she fears her growing feelings for Seb have blinded her to his reckless insistence on helping her stay alive, and his rash behavior will cause them both to lose their lives.

My review:

Cover Fire may be the best in this series to date. Seb is not a total Alpha but he is kind, funny and troubled. CI Agent Jenna Maxwell has been in the game too long. She has lost touch with the girl she used to be and is in danger of becoming a cold unfeeling weapon the Command Intelligence folks throw at whatever they want dead. This is not a case of insta-love it will take almost getting killed to bring these two together but once they fall nothing and no one is going to break them apart. I enjoy this series and can’t wait to see what is brewing between Brenn and Cam.

Bite Somebody Else (Bite Somebody, #2) by Sara Dobie Bauer

Blurb:
Imogene helped her newbie vampire friend Celia hook up with an adorable human, but now Celia has dropped an atomic bomb of surprise: she has a possibly blood-sucking baby on the way. Imogene is not pleased, especially when a mysterious, ancient, and annoyingly gorgeous vampire historian shows up to monitor Celia's unprecedented pregnancy.
Lord Nicholas Christopher Cuthbert III is everything Imogene hates: posh, mannerly, and totally uninterested in her. Plus, she thinks he's hiding something. So what if he smells like a fresh garden and looks like a rich boarding school kid just begging to be debauched? Imogene has self-control. Or something.
As Celia's pregnancy progresses at a freakishly fast pace, Imogene and Nicholas play an ever-escalating game of will they or won't they, until his sexy maker shows up on Admiral Key, forcing Nicholas to reveal his true intentions toward Celia's soon-to-arrive infant.

My review:
Imogene has a heart of gold and a filthy mouth. She is hopelessly lost in the 80’s. But if it wasn’t for her newbie vampire Celia wouldn’t have been able to fall in love with her hunky human, Ian. Now Celia and Ian are expecting the unexpected and it has attracted the attention of the Vampire council and they’ve sent Lord Nicholas Christopher Cuthbert III to investigate. Imogene has found the one guy immune to her charms. She is going to have to protect her friend the old fashioned way. Work for it.
The back and forth between Imogene and Nicholas is laugh out loud hysterical. The interplay between them was like watching Maddie and David from Moonlighting. The story is fairly predictable but well worth the read. If you haven’t read the first book in this series Bite Somebody I would recommend reading it first.

New Moon (Moon #8) by Lisa Kessler

Blurb:
Sometimes Fate plays dirty...

Jaguar shifter Sebastian Severino is an enigma. He lives alone, works alone, and will die alone. But the night he’s attacked by a female werewolf, nothing will ever be the same. And when his young niece is kidnapped, Sebastian, the deadliest assassin Nero has ever produced, will be forced to choose a side...

Isabelle Wood has never taken the easy path. As a bounty hunter and now a bitten werewolf without a mate, she’s searching for answers to her father’s disappearance while helping to lead an Alphaless Pack. The night she gets the opportunity to take out their enemy, with her blade at his throat, her wolf discovers her mate in the last person she can be with.

My review:
I LOVE a good redemption story. Jaguar shifter Sebastian Severino has always been chaotic neutral. Doing what is best for him at the time and let the chips fall where they may. But for the last few books, since he discovered his half sister, he has become conflicted. New Moon may be the last book in this series (pout) but it is a whole new beginning for Sebastian and a large part of that has to do with wolf shifter Isabelle Wood. Secrets come out and justice is done. A really enjoyable read.

Run to Ground (Rocky Mountain K9 Unit #1) by Katie Ruggle

Blurb:

He lost his mentor.
He lost his K9 partner.
He almost lost his will to live.
But when a ruthless killer targets a woman on the run, Theo and his new K9 companion will do whatever it takes to survive—and save the woman neither can live without.

Grieving the death of his partner, Theo Bosco has no room in his life for distractions. Though his instincts scream that he should avoid Juliet 'Jules' Jackson, he can't seem to stay away. It doesn't help that Theo's new K9 companion has fallen head over paws with Jules's rambunctious family.

Or that when he's with her, Theo finally knows peace.

When Jules rescued her siblings, whisking them away to the safety of the beautifully rugged Colorado Rockies, she never expected to catch the eye—or the heart—of a cop. Yet as Jules struggles to fight her growing attraction to the brooding K9 officer, another threat lurks much closer to home...

And this time, there's no escape.

My review:

Run to Ground is a tale that will have you rooting for the hero and heroine, reaching for the tissues, shouting out loud and leave you with a happy heart.
Jules grabbed me from the start. She is stuck in an untenable position where she does the wrong thing for the right reasons. She is risking her future for the happiness and well being of her younger brothers and half-sister.
K9 cop Theo Bosco has been hit with several losses in a row. His K9 partner passed from cancer then his human partner swallowed a bullet. He is hurting and angry and depressed. Then he meets the new waitress in town.
Jules never meant to fall for a cop and Theo knows Jules is hiding something but they are good for each other and we get to go along for the ride.
Action, adventure and romance this book has it all.

A Wolf in Bear's Clothing (Paranormal Dating Agency Universe) by Renee George

Blurb:

Quinn would willingly let go of her father’s title, wealth, and property—after all, she’s a doctor and lives independent from the clan, but if she doesn’t find a suitable mate in the next two weeks, her mom and younger sisters will suffer the harsh consequences. Quinn wants to save her family's legacy--she just doesn't want to marry some hairy beast to keep it.

Desperate, Quinn seeks the help of the Paranormal Dating Agency. When she meets sexy security specialist Luke Dashwood, their instant attraction makes him the perfect hubby candidate. After all, if he smells like a bear and acts like a bear … then he’s a bear, right? Um

Werewolf Luke Dashwood wants Quinn Orson, the voluptuous emergency room doctor whose beauty and smarts make his inner beast howl. When he learns she’s gone to the PDA to find a mate—he’s determined to show her that he can be her one and only. Two problems. 1. She’s the target of a maniac hellbent on killing her before she can reclaim her birthright.

Now, Luke’s wolf is ready to bear-up and do whatever it takes to keep the woman he loves safe—even if it means losing her forever.

Reader Note: This book is based in Milly Taiden's Paranormal Dating Agency world, and in that spirit, there is plenty of hot sex, a smart and sexy plus-sized heroine, a hot, hunky alpha who will do anything to make her his own, and enough nail-biting action to keep you on the edge of your seats until the very end!

My review:

Dr. Quinn Orson is a smart accomplished woman who is also a bear shifter and heir to her clan but she needs to marry to keep her family and clan safe. There is trouble from within the clan in the form of her fathers second who wants Quinn so he can take over the clan and run it as he likes which won’t be good for Quinn or her sisters. She is hoping that Gerri Wilder can find her a mate her bear can live with.
Werewolf Luke Dashwood wants Quinn but she needs a bear. There doesn’t seem to be a way through for them but Gerri is never wrong and we get to go along for the ride.
A Wolf in Bear's Clothing is a fast paced, sexy romp that will keep you flipping pages to the very end.

Jupiter's Shadow (Smoky Mountain Wolves #1) by TL Reeve

Blurb:

Jupiter “Pip” Baldwin, isn’t ready to settle down and produce heirs for the Sequatchie Pack. As the Alpha’s daughter and only child, she is destined to continue his bloodline, while allowing her mate to lead the pack—an archaic rule of the collective Smoky Mountain Wolves packs.
On her thirty-second birthday, five men will be presented to her for choosing. It’s not about love in her pack. It’s about power. When each man reveals who they are, and what they’re capable, Jupiter finds herself in over her head.
Will she be able to narrow down her choices, to the perfect “match,” or will Jupiter find she can’t let any of them go?
Change is coming to the Sequatchie pack, and Jupiter must blaze the trail…

My review:

Jupiter's Shadow is the first in a new series. This is a reverse harem shifters story that has a lot of smoking hot sex but it is all part of the story. I liked Pip and her guys. I had a bit of a problem figuring out her father’s motivations but eventually all worked out. This is a fun story with a bit of angst but mostly a strong woman coming into her own.
Warning there is a m/m scene but it is important to the story (it is also sizzling hot)

The Wolf's Royal Baby (Howls Romance #11) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

Harper Burns was just abducted from her house by four big, bad shifters. When she finds out her father traded her for his life to a wolf king, she’s ready to escape. Even more confusing is the fact Sebastian tells her she must have his baby. The craziest part is she’s actually considering it. Clearly, she lost her mind on the car ride to the castle.

Sebastian Roarhart is shifter royalty. He’s been cursed and needs to have a child or die. Now, he has to convince Harper to see him as more than some man holding her hostage. He needs her to fall for him. But it’s harder than he realizes when someone in his castle keeps trying to kill her.

Sebastian has secrets he’s keeping to save Harper from heartache. Harper knows one thing for sure: she can’t let him die. Not when he’s the first man in her life to show her how special she is. Time’s running out. When truths come to light about her family and past, only the man she’s come to love will be able to keep her safe.

Reader's Note: This is a dirty, sexy, romantic story meant to make you fall in love with a scarred alpha king. Enjoy

My review:

Werewolves, curses, murder and love this story has it all. Sebastian Roarhart is shifter royalty. He’s been cursed and needs to have a child or die. He has known since her high school prom that Harper Burns is his fated mate. Time is running short and Sebastian has no choice but to kidnap Harper and find a way to convince to have his child. He will try nice first but isn’t opposed to playing dirty.
This is a fun sometimes silly, sometimes sad and always sexy story. It started a little slow but picked up speed quickly. Stick with it and you too will fall for Sebastian and Harper.

Magic Burn (Shifting Magic #2) by Catherine Vale

Blurb:
Just survive. That's been Kaye's goal since discovering that a murderous Warlock sent a gargoyle to kill her. Now forced into the shadows in search of a powerful dragon clan, as a ruthless army of darkness hunts them down, she must form uneasy alliances, and unravel the secrets of her true identity.
Magic Burn is the second book in the urban fantasy Shifting Magic series. Don't miss this thrilling world of magic, mayhem and sacrifice, in the battle against dark forces.

Shifting Magic Series:
Magic Fire: Book 1
Magic Burn: Book 2
Magic Blaze: Book 3 (available July 2017)

This book contains explicit language, violence, and content suitable for adults. It also features a fierce heroine, powerful dragon shifter and tons of colorful, otherworldly characters.

My review:
In this second installment of this terrific series Fae/Dragon shifter hybrid Kaye, her Fae half brother Zayne and Dragon shifter Darius are off to war. The wicked Warlock Abramelin is determined to wipe out shifters of any kind and thinks that Kaye is an abomination. Zayne is the leader of the resistance and sends Darius and Kaye to rally shifters to the defense. Along the way Darius and Kaye grow closer and we find out a whole lot more about each of them. I love that the author is not rushing their relationship. This story rocked from the first page to the last. But I have to say Spiders ewww.

Middleman by Jayne Rylon

Blurb:

A standalone novel from NYT and USA Today bestselling author Jayne Rylon.

I don’t kneel for any man. Not anymore.
I had the perfect dominant boyfriend. Then Cortez left me to save the world.
After two and a half years lost drowning my misery in bad decisions, one man changed everything.
Rogan is the perfect submissive, who puts me back in control of both him and my life.
Until Cortez comes home.
Who am I? Cortez’s bottom or Rogan’s top?
Maybe I’m both.
Maybe I was made to be their middleman.

My review:

m/m/m
You can always count on Jayne Rylon for a smoking hot story and this is no different. The problems come in when they are out of bed. I felt the angst and pain but I think forgiveness came too fast. Not the authors best but overall a steamy read and well worth it.

Missing Mate (O'Neil Pack Series) by Roxanne Witherell

Blurb:

Missing Mate

Jessica Salone had a one night stand that resulted in twins. Years later, a hereditary issue arises. The only way to help her son is to get in touch with his father, who doesn’t even know the twins exist. Facing her regrets head on, she takes her twins to the resort where it all started. Will Alexander reject them? Will Jessica find the answers she needs? Or will she be thrown into a world of the unknown.
Alexander Jamison is trying to find information as to why unknown shifters have been in the area. When he hears that a woman called asking questions, he is suspicious. Is something in his past catching up to him? Could the timing be a coincidence or is there something more sinister going on?

My review:

When a one night stand ends up with Jessica pregnant with twins and the father oblivious it could have been worse. Now, it just got worse as the babies are now three years old and they turn into wolf puppies! Jessica never knew shifters existed but has now become a believer. She needs help. She has to go back to the resort and find the twins dad, explain why she didn’t tell him sooner and find out what she needs to know about raising shifters.

One of the things I like best about finding new authors is watching them improve with each book. This is Roxanne Witherells’ fourth book and each gets successively better. The writing is a little stiff in this book but the story is so exciting you don’t really mind. I think that this author is well worth growing with. I should mention I drooled a little bit on this cover.

For a different type of tale you need to read Missing Mate

A dragon shifter, a curse, a rare book, and the woman who is the key to setting him free…
Finding the love of a lifetime won’t happen between the dusty pages of old books, but for researcher Camille Forester, it’s her job. She’s hopeful a call to Gerri Wilder and the Paranormal Dating Agency will fix the lack of romance in her quiet librarian’s life and put her between the sheets instead of just between the pages. What she didn’t expect was the fantasy hero who appeared in her living room, naked and ready to please. Talk about a book boyfriend come to life! A sex-slave cursed into the book Gerri gave her, his story is too fanciful to believe, yet somehow Camille knows he’s telling the truth. Now all she wants is him and to break the curse so they can have their own happily ever after.

My review:
INCREDIBLE! In this addition to the PDA universe, Marianne Morea, has given us a sexy adventure and new information about the enigmatic Gerri Wilder.  Dragon My Heart Around is a sexy dragon shifter romantic fantasy that I will re-read often. I heartily recommend it!

His Twisted Tail (Paranormal Dating Agency Universe) by Melanie James

Blurb:
Calder Lorenson inherits one hell of a mess when he’s thrust into the limelight to fill the role of Alpha at Twisted Tail Pack. With treachery in the ranks, Calder quickly finds himself in over his head. If that wasn’t enough to deal with, pack law decrees that he must be mated.
With no time to spare, Calder does the only thing he can think of—asks for a little help from a famous matchmaker, Gerri Wilder. Will Gerri be able to locate his mate before the looming deadline? Or will Calder have to face the consequences set by pack law?

My review:
Melanie James hits another out of the park! One of the reasons I read Melanie James’s books is because she manages to inject humor into the most difficult of situations. New Alpha Calder Lorenson is being forced to find a mate to satisfy some archaic law dug up by his enemies. In an effort to find a mate he can be happy with he calls Gerri Wilder’s PDA.
Dr. Daisy Parks is an ER doctor with no life outside work to speak of.  When she literally bumps into Gerri Wilder she doesn’t yet know that she is about to enter the adventure of a lifetime. Now all they have to do is survive it.
A fun twist with action, adventure and love wrapped up in one sweet tale.

Love Unleashed (A Paw Enforcement Novel) by Diane Kelly

Blurb:
Bestselling author Diane Kelly brings the heat to her popular Paw Enforcement series when sparks fly between a teacher and a firefighter in Love Unleashed.
Between wrangling her rambunctious kindergarten class and trying to catch an elusive Dalmatian pup who’s been hanging around the playground, teacher Jessica Bellingham can hardly seem to catch her breath. And when hot, hunky fireman Louie DeLuca arrives to teach the children about fire safety, she just might need mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Who’d have thought a yellow slicker could be so sexy?
Things heat up quickly, igniting a passion the two would gladly allow to consume them. But will their romance become a four-alarm blaze, or will a dark secret from Jesse’s past threaten to cool things off for good? And what will become of the playful puppy who seems to stay just out of reach?

My review:
Love Unleashed is a sweet spinoff into the firefighter side of the Paw Enforcement series.

Fireman Lieutenant Louie DeLuca works out of the same house as Seth, Frankie and Blaze. He is tired of women hitting on him just because he has a hot bod. Being in shape is part of the job it isn’t who he is.

Jessica Bellingham is a cute kindergarten teacher with more curls than she knows what to do with. She loves her job and her life and she would love to share it with someone. The attraction between the two is instant and super hot but they both have secrets. Will those secrets keep them apart?

Yes, the whole thing is terribly predictable but these characters are so lovable and real you just have to find out how they are going to overcome and get together. It may take a little Stinker of a pup. I really enjoyed this quick, sweet read.

You don’t have to have read any of the Paw Enforcement stories to enjoy this one but if you enjoy this one you may want to check them out. I love them.

Inked Expressions (Montgomery Ink #7) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:
The Montgomery Ink Series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with the brother who keeps his secret and the one woman he shouldn’t want.

Everly Law married the love of her life and on the eve of giving birth to their twins, lost him in a tragic accident. Now she’s a single mother working overtime at her bookstore trying to make sure her boys have the life they deserve. Her life is busy enough without her adding dating a Montgomery. As past secrets come to light, she’ll need Storm more than ever—even if she doesn’t realize it.

Storm Montgomery has spent his life atoning for sins that only few know he’s committed. When he lost his best friend, he promised his widow that he’d always be there for her—even when she wanted nothing to do with him. But when a single touch ignites passions they’ve both buried deep inside, he’ll have to remember exactly who is in his arms and that taking chances might be far more dangerous than they bargained for.

My review:
Author Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again!  Storm Montgomery has been sitting quietly among his boisterous siblings just waiting for his turn to break our hearts. And oh how his story tore me up. When he finds himself falling for his best friends widow, Everly, I thought things would pick up for them but nooo the author had to put them through even more stuff before they could get their happy. This book will take you on an emotional ride you won’t soon forget.

Wolf Hunt (SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #6) by Paige Tyler

Blurb:
A STORM IS BREWING...
Remy Boudreaux is back in his hometown, New Orleans. He's there with three of his fellow Dallas SWAT officers for a week of training with the NOLA PD. On the eve of a tropical storm, Remy and his buddies prowl the French Quarter. One tantalizing scent captures Remy's senses, forcing him to follow until he is face to face with Triana Bellamy—his beautiful high school crush.

After reconnecting, Remy and Triana are close—very. Remy struggles to keep things casual. Ever since his partner—and first love—was killed on the job, he's kept women at a distance.

But when a mysterious wolf pendant ropes them both into danger, Remy's protective instincts kick in. He may have to reveal his true self...and hope Triana accepts him.

My review:
Anything can happen in NOLA and for Dallas SWAT werewolf, Remy Boudreaux, that would mean forgiving himself and letting himself love again. It is going to take his nerdy high school crush, Triana Bellamy, now all grown up mother to crack through the shell around his heart to help him learn to love again. This is a high energy, fast paced sweet and sexy addition to the series and I thoroughly enjoyed every page. This book also hints at a danger to the wolves much bigger than any perp they’ve encountered to date. Bring it!

A Grave Calling (Bodies of Evidence #1) by Wendy Roberts

Blurb:
There had been no attempt to bury the dead girl, naked except for the white ribbon tied to her wrist
Twenty-five-year-old Julie Hall has a unique ability: when she takes up a dowsing rod, she finds not water but bodies. To Julie, it's a curse, not a gift, and one she rarely uses—she prefers her quiet life in a trailer, with her grandfather and her dog for company. But when FBI agent Garrett Pierce shows up at her door seeking help with a case, she has no choice but to assist with their search.
Three girls are still missing. The killer is still out there. As bodies are discovered and more girls disappear, the case becomes almost more than Julie can bear. And when the killer turns his sights toward her, even her growing relationship with the protective Agent Garrett may not be enough to save her.

My review:
WOW! This book kept me riveted. I could not put it down. This story takes you on twists and turns you don’t see coming. Fans of the Harper Connelly stories by Charlaine Harris will love this story. This is the first I’ve read by this author but I assure you it won’t be the last.

White Hot (Hidden Legacy #2) by Ilona Andrews

Blurb:
The Hidden Legacy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews continues as Nevada and Rogan navigate a world where magic is the norm…and their relationship burns hot

Nevada Baylor has a unique and secret skill—she knows when people are lying—and she's used that magic (along with plain, hard work) to keep her colorful and close-knit family's detective agency afloat. But her new case pits her against the shadowy forces that almost destroyed the city of Houston once before, bringing Nevada back into contact with Connor "Mad" Rogan.

Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada’s “talent.” But there’s no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice …

My review:
I feel like I have been waiting forever for this book. It was well worth the wait.
Nevada Baylor is a young woman with strong magic. She is pretty much self-taught and probably wouldn’t be as far along as she is if it hadn’t been for a push from the incredibly gifted and totally sexy Connor "Mad" Rogan. At the end of the first book Nevada pushed aside Connors advances because despite being attracted to him she feels he lacks empathy and would only be using her. Now two months after the ending of the first book she and Connor are once again thrown together to solve a convoluted case that will test their gifts and force them to confront their feelings for each other. Nevada is just what Connor needs to keep him grounded and Connor can help keep Nevada’s family safe.
This book takes you on a fantastic ride and keeps you flipping pages. I am really glad I won’t have to wait quite so long for the next installment.
