Say Yes by L.K. Shaw

Blurb:
Friends make the best lovers. Or so Casey Santiago thinks.

For ten years, she’s lived with the memories of an abusive childhood. Now, she’s ready to make new ones. Who better to help her than her best friend, Philip Maxwell?

When she approaches him with her shocking proposal, he hesitates. Sex complicates things.

Can Casey convince Philip that their friendship is strong enough to withstand anything, including falling in love?

My review:
Say Yes is a sweet and sexy friends to lovers story that will leave you with happy tears. Casey Santiago has been through hell and come out the other side she is ready to start living again and she thinks her best friend hunky Philip Maxwell is just the guy to help her. Watching Casey crawl then walk away from her past and forge a new future was totally heartwarming. Every girl should have a friend like Philip.

Close to the Edge (Unbroken Heroes #5) by Dawn Ryder

Blurb:
The Unbroken Heroes are back! Agent Dare Servant is aghast at this fellow Ops members settling down. He knows without doubt that the domestic life will never be for him - the thrill of the chase and the high of danger to strong to ever give up. But when a quirky and charming caterer ends up smack dab in the middle of a criminal mastermind's plot, Dare will uphold his honor and protect her. Even though she pushes all his buttons. Even though her beauty drives him to distraction. Even though he's in danger of losing his heart to her and hanging up his Shadow Ops life for good…

My review:
Shadow Ops Agent Dare Servant is focused and determined to do what he can to make the world a little safer. He can’t believe that some of his fellow badass agents have taken desk jobs for love. It will never happen to him. Never say never because despite his best efforts he finds himself falling for Jenna the feisty caterer in his protective custody. This story is filled with action and attraction. A hot, steamy runaway train that kept me up reading past my bedtime.
Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.

Blurb:
Wereraccoon Nicole Taylor, a recent Quantico graduate, is eager to prove herself. She’s been assigned to work with oh-so-yummy field agent and werebear Dominic Tartan to catch the serial therianthrope kidnapper Little Piggy.

Dom doesn't know what to make of the sexy recruit he's been tasked to train. Half the time he wants to ditch her, the other half of the time he wants to kiss her. Nicole struggles with the urge to sock him one, or jump his bones.

The case gets personal when Little Piggy takes a citizen from Nicole’s hometown of Peculiar, Missouri. Dom and Nicole must catch the supernatural criminal—before his latest kidnap victim ends up dead.

Peculiar Mysteries series from USA Today bestselling author Renee George are laugh-out-loud, grip the edge of your seat, and swoon as you fall in love tales of mystery, humor, and romance that take place in the small (fictional) Ozark shifter town of Peculiar, Missouri.

My review:
Want something a little different? Read this fun paranormal mystery and I guarantee a chuckle or two, a couple of sighs and a darned good mystery. Though this is part of a series each book can be read stand alone. I love that the author has original therianthrope pairings and love Dom (bear) and Nic (raccoon). I can’t wait to revisit Peculiar.

Tales of the Djinn: Sultan's Choice by Emma Holly

Blurb:
Handsome Sultan Iksander feared he’d never be loved again. Already a couple, human Georgie and angel Connor proved him wrong by risking their lives for him. Now, if he wants to keep his new partners, he must make a hard decision.

My review:
m/m/f
This one is for the fans and not a place to start the series. This is a short erotic telling of Iksander’s return home and taking the next step in his relationship with Georgie and Connor. The sex is smoking hot but there isn’t a whole lot more.

Shot on Gold (Play-by-Play #14) by Jaci Burton

Blurb:

In the new Play-by-Play novel by the New York Times bestselling author of The Final Score, opposites attract when a figure skater and hockey player lace up their skates--and go for the gold...

Will "Mad Dog" Madigan is making his second trip to the Winter Games, and he couldn't be happier. Hockey is his life and playing for the U.S. team is a privilege. Then he meets U.S. figure skater Amber Sloane. She's beautiful, ambitious and driven--everything Will desires in a woman. He would love to show Amber how hot life off the ice can be.

Amber has skated her entire life, sacrificing everything in the hopes of one day winning gold. Now she's competing for the third and final time. She intends to win, and nothing's going to get in her way--until she meets Will. He's an irresistible charmer, and before long Amber is wondering if this sexy hockey player is the perfect guy to show her some moves outside the rink.

But after all the medals have been awarded, Will and Amber will have to decide if what they have together is just a fling or a real shot at true love.

My review:
Shot on Gold by Jaci Burton has just the right amount of sweet and sex going on. This book can be read stand alone.
Will "Mad Dog" Madigan is an outgoing hail well met fellow except for on the ice. As a hockey player he is focused and determined.
U.S. figure skater Amber Sloane is determined to get the gold. She knows this will be her last shot. She is shy having been kept apart by her micro managing mother. Hell at 24 she is still a technical virgin. She is going to change that and she thinks Will is the right man for the job.
Set among the Olympics these two get together and may get more out of it than just a medal.
I really enjoyed this book. You don’t have to be a sports fanatic to enjoy but when you are done you may want to check out your local team.

Wicked Alchemy (Deadly Alchemy series Book 3) by Julie Morgan

Blurb:
Love might be magical, but hate has an alchemy all its own…

Adam Quinn dies and the unthinkable happens. A vampire rescues him. Turns him. Remakes the dying werewolf in the image of his mortal enemy. Lost in a sea of grief and rage, Adam struggles to accept that everything he has ever known and loved has been ripped away from him, including his beloved Sophie. It's too much to ask of one man, yet his vampiric sire does just that. Adam discovers there is one thing that remains to him, one thing no one can take. Vengeance.

Sophie Benally only ever wanted to be happy and free to run through the whispering forest and sing to the silvery moon…as a wolf. Adam's 'death' put an end to those dreams forever. Now, she is caught in a rising tide of blood as rival wolf packs begin to attack and vampire covens creep closer, all too eager for war. She must fight to protect her pack, even if it means betraying her old lover, her alpha, and anyone else who stands in her way.

When wolves begin to disappear and the vampire covens clamor ever louder for battle, Adam must fool friends and enemies alike to get to the bottom of this deadly mystery. But, he risks more than just his heart and life by embracing the change from pack to coven, life to everlasting death-in-life, and the warmth of Sophie's smile to the cool touch of Elena's touch.

The wicked alchemy of hate and revenge could destroy his very soul.

My review:
Vampires and werewolves oh my! In this third installment we see Adam and Sophia gets resolution. Adam is a werewolf forcibly turned into a vampire and he needs to let go of Sophia and the past. Sophia has taken Adams former position as Beta in the pack.  But now there is someone out there trying to force the vampires and werewolves into a full-fledged take no prisoner war. It may be that only Adam and Sophia can save both their species from extinction and find out who is setting them up. This is a bittersweet PNR and a terrific addition to the series.

Daughter of Death (Bad Girls #2) by Lexi C. Foss

Blurb:
A dead body.

A missing daughter.

A silver blade.

All the clues point to one person: Me.

My name is Evangeline, and I’m a retired assassin who wants nothing to do with the underworld. But an edict from a Demonic Lord forces me to return to the man and the life I left behind.

I have seven days to prove my innocence.

Whoever set me up is going to die.

---

Daughter of Death is part of the Bad Girls collection for 2018, and also serves as the first book in the Dark Provenance series.

Please note that this is a standalone paranormal romance with dark elements, demons, angels, a sadistic alpha male, blood, and a lot of dead bodies. What can I say? Eve likes her knives, and Xai enjoys watching her play.

My review:
I really enjoyed this book. Every time I thought I knew where the author was going she threw in something new. Angels, demons, good guys and bad guys you never know who is going to be the hero/heroine. Terrific world building. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Rock King (Nothing But Trouble #1) by Tara Leigh

Blurb:
Fans of Kristen Callihan and Kylie Scott will scream for this sizzling bad boy rock star romance!

I'm not who you think I am.

Shane Hawthorne has it all. At least, that's what the headlines say about me. I have millions of fans, awards, more money - and women - than I know what to do with. But what you don't see is the wreckage I've caused. The memories and pain I can't escape, even when I pour them into music and spin them into gold.

I tried to forget. To lose myself in booze and groupies. It didn't work. It hurt me and - worse - it hurt my band. That's the last thing I want to do, so I'm cleaning up my act... starting with Delaney Fraser.

Gorgeous, smart, drama-free, and even nice - Delaney is the perfect "girlfriend." When I'm with her I don't have to pretend. It's like she sees the real me. And I can see a future with her. But that's dangerous. Because the truth is, Shane Hawthorne doesn't actually exist. He's a shield to hide who I really am. Fraud. Runaway. Addict. Murderer.

And it's impossible to love a lie, right?

The Nothing but Trouble series:
Rock King
Rock Legend
Rock Rebel

My review:
Rock King is an angsty, sweet rock and roll romance. Shane Hawthorne is at the top of his game professionally but personally he is carrying around a butt ton of grief. He tried self-medicating but was fortunately pulled out of that spiral by his agent. One of the ways he copes is by hiring a pretend girlfriend for each tour. She will stand between him and the booze and drugs and groupies. He picks waitress for this tours “girlfriend” and despite her better judgement she takes the job because she needs the money and Shanes agent makes her an offer she can’t refuse. They didn’t plan to fall in love but Shane isn’t the only one with secrets and Delany’s may just cost them everything.
I liked these perfectly imperfect characters. I enjoyed tagging along with them as they each discovered more about themselves and each other.

Love in the Spotlight (The Hollywood Showmance Chronicles Book 4) by Olivia Jaymes

Blurb:
It’s a simple request…

Sam's mother needs him to pretend to date a pretty kindergarten teacher named Riley who has been dumped by her jerk of a boyfriend.  The one thing he cannot do is say no to his mom so of course he agrees.  He’s on vacation after all and it’s only a few nights.  He’ll make the other guy jealous and then head back home.

But it has become way more complicated…

Sam discovers he really likes Riley.  A whole hell of a lot.  She’s the kind of woman he could get serious about.  If he was the kind of guy who got serious.  But he’s not.  They’ll have one week of unforgettable romance and passion but in the end he’ll have to walk away.   No matter how much he wants to stay.

My review:
A pretend date with a kindergarten teacher turns into so much more for movie star Sam Collins. Sam is in his mid-forties and has a failed marriage under his belt and no plans to repeat. That is until kindergarten teacher Riley Bridges comes up pregnant from their one night stand.
Sam is a protector and wants to do the right thing. Riley doesn’t want him if he isn’t all in. He is going to have to come to terms with the past in order to have a future.
I really enjoyed this story. Riley doesn’t let Sam get away with less than his best and his best is pretty darn great.

Dragon's Curvy Concierge (Dragon's Curvy Romance #3) by Mychal Daniels

Blurb:
“I don’t know what you heard about me, but I’m not in that sort of business. I’m a concierge, not a concubine!”
To her retreating back, he lobbed, “And, I want neither of those. I want you.”
When Bronwyn Scott finds herself way over her head as the first time business owner of a personal concierge service, she’s not about to fall for a rich mystery man trying to test her professionalism at every turn.

***
When Bronwyn Scott finds herself way over her head as the first time business owner of a personal concierge service, she’s not about to fall for a rich mystery man trying to test her professionalism at every turn.
Determined to make her business a great success to find and show the mother who left her at birth that she made something of herself, Bronwyn has no time for games or entitled, gorgeous rich dudes.

MacMillan “Mac” Kelnar is at that time in his life where his business can run itself, he’s successful, powerful, and a mature Dragon who’s paid his dues.
When he sees his mate across the parking lot of a Home Improvement Center parking lot as she suffers a hit and run, he’ll stop at nothing to have her, even if that means pretending to hire her as his personal concierge.
Determined to have his mate, this Dragon will stop at nothing until his mate realizes that the only services he's interested in are having all of her.

My review:
Dragon's Curvy Concierge answers the question what happens when a dragon finds his mate and assumes she wants him back.
MacMillan “Mac” Kelnar spots Bronwyn Scott across the parking lot and knows she is the one for him. Now all he has to do is convince the spunky small business owner that they were meant to be.
I loved Bronwyn. She is smart, energetic, sweet and determined to succeed. Mac is wildly successful, hunky, and determined to win his mate. He is also male and destined to screw up. We have the fun watching him work for it.
This is a sweet, sexy, fun escape.

Bound in Ashes (Drachen Mates Book 4) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

COMPLETELY STANDALONE
Check out the conclusion of the Drachen Mates Series in this sexy novel.

Tiana Jonas’s life is unexciting. Nothing happens. Except her technical support calls with Ker Drachen. He’s got the sexiest voice if her wet panties are any sign. Boring goes out the window when her house is burglarized and an undiscovered body bleeds out on her kitchen floor. Ker comes to her rescue with a place to hide away. She just needs to keep her clothes on. That’s proving a lot harder than she thought.

Ker Drachen is obsessed with the sweet school teacher, Tiana. Her voice alone gives him wet dreams. When she gets into trouble, every protective instinct in him demands he guard his woman. Except, she’s not his. Not by dragon mark. But that won’t get in his way. Someone trying to kill her might be a problem, though. Then again, so might the fact she’s the most innocent, and desirous woman he’s ever met.

Romancing Tiana isn’t easy when danger follows her like a shadow, but Ker is determined to prove to her he’s the man for her in every hot, slick, and dirty way possible. He’s going to win her love and keep her. That’s all good, but he might have to die to show her how much he cares. Unless she gives up her life for him first.

My review:
Tiana Jonas is a school teacher who knows her worth. Until now she hasn’t found anyone worthy of her. Not even her stalker ex. But (dragon shifter) Ker Drachen can melt her with his voice alone. When danger threatens Tiana Ker comes to the rescue and they become closer. Tiana’s past hides a lot of secrets that may just get them both killed.
Acton, adventure, love and steamy sex this book has it all. I loved Tiana and kept imagining Ker with a late night DJ’s voice.  A satisfying conclusion to the Drachen Mates.

Knight Nostalgia: A Knights of the Board Room Anthology by Joey W. Hill

Blurb:

A whole new anthology featuring the beloved Knights of the Board Room characters…

Conqueror's Fantasy – When Matt Kensington takes Savannah to The Resort as an anniversary gift, they will explore their Dominant and submissive relationship to untold new depths. But on their last day there, Matt plans one more special surprise for his wife. He will bring to life a fantasy she’s held since the unforgettable night he made his feelings clear to her in his board room. A role-playing fantasy Savannah never expected to share with her practical husband. But Matt refuses to let even one of her fantasies go unfulfilled.

Girls' Day Out – Ben O’Callahan considers himself a brave man. But he ponders putting in for extreme hazard pay when he volunteers to take the wives of the K&A men out for a day of shopping and girl talk. There’s already some serious compensation, however. He has the chance to spend the day with Marcie, and prove to her sister Cass he can be the man Marcie needs him to be.

The Card Game – For the past several years, Rachel has learned what it means to be loved, as a wife and cherished submissive. Yet some shadows of the past continue to cling. Then the K&A men plan an after-hours poker game, and offer Rachel and Dana the opportunity to be the jackpot, required to do whatever the man who wins each hand commands. With the chance to serve the “Knights of the Board Room” in a way she’s always dreamed about, Rachel will dispel the shadows once and for all, and finally believe in the unshakable love of her Master.

My review:

m/f, f/f, m/f/f/m

For fans of the Knights of the Board Room this book will melt your socks. All of these stories take place before Ben & Marcie marry in Hostile Takeover.

Conqueror's Fantasy – We get a better understanding of Matt and Savannah’s relationship as they vacation on a fantasy island where Matt attempts to give his wife the fantasy of her dreams. Like their relationship this is a cerebral trip that will inspire fantasies for me for a long time to come.

Girls' Day Out – Ben takes the girls out shopping while and we get to see the caring side of him that isn’t as obvious in some of the other books. It made me like him better. I really enjoyed watching him interact with Dana and Cass and of course his very own bad girl Marcie. This may have been my favorite story in the book even though it has the least amount of sex.

The Card Game – Break out the fan and a cold drink it’s about to get sizzling hot. This story is multidimensional. This story is mostly Rachels. She has a f/f fantasy that Jon wants to fulfill for her but he also wants to build up her self-esteem that was so damaged by her ex. The guys are more than happy to help as is Dana. I really liked how Jon and the guys used this occasion to help out Rachel. There is a scene where usually stoic Matt had me close to tears.

All in all a fantastic read that I will read over and over again.

But when the hookup turns serious, Micah has to compromise to protect Queen’s secrets from his beloved grandmother. With everything against them, can two hearts rise above the flour?

Second Edition
First Edition published by Etopia Press, January 2013

My review:
m/m
Hearts and Flour by Tara Lain is a sweet m/m that is perfect for Valentines Day. Micah and Queen meet at an anti-Valentine’s Day bash. Micah was hurting after he found his live in lover of the past year in bed with another guy the day before. Queen is new to town and saw it as a way to meet some of the gay community. The attraction is instantaneous and the chemistry is off the charts. That is until Micah the health food nut finds out that Queen is the owner of Charismatic Cupcakes the place that is luring his health conscious customers to the dark side.
I loved everything about Queen but his accent. I live in the south and well… I felt for Micah but he too has issues. But by the end I liked them both a whole lot more. Mostly I liked Nee Nee. A fun sweet read.

Eternal Mourning (Talon Pack #7) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:
In the seventh book of the Talon Pack series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan, a Healer is forced to come to grips with the idea that he can’t save everyone…including the woman he loves.

Walker Brentwood vowed to the moon goddess that he’d protect his Pack and Heal with every last ounce of his power. He’s watched his siblings and cousin battle the worst circumstances to find love and is now afraid that the one woman who could be his might not have much time left. The rules of mating have changed, and Walker will do what he has to in order to protect the bonds that have eluded him for so long.

Aimee Reagan knows there’s something wrong with her. She’s known since the first time she found out shifters were real and magic existed. When the Talon Pack’s enemy sets his sights on her, her battle to survive becomes even harder.

Walker and Aimee must turn to each other when the powers around them change and the paths that had been laid before them are no longer clear. But when their passion threatens a curse far older than anyone dreamed, they’ll only have one chance to save something worth more than a mating bond. Their future.

My review:
Walker finds his mate! Life in the pack since the unveiling has been a challenge. They have rules put in place to appease the humans that won’t allow them to change someone unless they are a mate. Blade, the Alpha of the Aspen pack continues to create problems for the Talons. And Walker thinks he may have finally found his mate. When he finally finds the woman he thinks may be his mate (darned screwed up mating call) she is dying from something he can’t cure as she is human and not of the pack. Walker has always wanted what his brothers and cousins have. A mate. But Aimee is dying and human doctors can’t find anything wrong with her. Walker will do whatever is necessary to save her and convince her she is his.
Eternal Mourning is an emotional rollercoaster that will have you rooting out loud for the good guys and booing the bad guys. Bring on Kameron.

Tooth and Nail by Sara Lunsford

Blurb:

“The Vigilante” was my case. He killed killers. Rapists. Drug-dealing scum. All the ugly crumbs that fell through the cracks of willfully blind justice. I spent five years hunting him until I realized I didn’t really want to catch him. So I walked away—from the case, from my failure, from my big-city life in Detroit to start over with my husband in Merryn, Kansas.

My devils came with me. Bodies matching his M.O. were found in a cold storage unit wrapped up in macabre tribute—each victim with some tie to me. He won’t let me go, won’t let me run. There’s part of me that doesn’t want him to. It’s the same part that wonders if his way might be the only way. At least as far as my husband is concerned. I found Jacob’s Altoids tin in our fire pit—it was full of human teeth. Trophies from the women he raped. He’s a special investigator for the KBI, assigned to the task force that’s supposed to be hunting this master predator. He’ll never be caught unless someone takes matters into their own hands. When he’s sleeping soundly, so trusting next to me in the dark, I tell myself I’m a good cop. I’m no Vigilante.

But I’ve been wrong before.

My review:

AMAZING! Tooth and Nail by Sara Lunsford is a warped and twisted road that will suck you in and make you question everything. This is a crime drama/psycho thriller that will keep you up at night.
Shannon is a terrific detective. In Detroit she solved 6 of 7 serial killer cases. Then she and her husband moved to small town Merryn, Kansas. The problem is the 7th unsolved has followed her and is leaving her gifts. And how good a detective can she be when she finds herself married to a serial rapist, liar and more.
This one left me sleeping with the lights on.

A Dungeon, a Vampire, and an Infatuation: Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mysteries Book 6 by C.C. Dragon

A Dungeon, a Vampire, and an Infatuation: Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mysteries Book 6 (Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mystery) by C.C. Dragon

Blurb:
Who can have a personal life when an infatuated and possibly demon infested man is luring a dear friend to the dark side? Deanna has to try but she does have a team of angels on her side to help!

Problems with a creepy little church that belongs in the 1800s converge with an evil bar that keeps changing hands and names but the darkness never fades. The vamps need to go!

Mary Lou is out to prove her independence or is she rebelling when she plays with the bad boys? A crazy ex and a murder hit way too close to home and have the gang spinning in different directions.

Everyone is off their game and looking to establish their own alibis while chasing down all the bad guys and uncovering the murderer. Just another tale of Deanna Oscar and the gang out to fight evil and save the innocent people of New Orleans.

My review:
I love this series and I adored this book. Poor Deanna her life has become a circus. She has six living housemates some angels and a few ghosts living with her. The vampire bar has closed and reopened even darker. There is a church right out of “The Handmaidens Tale” and Mary Lou and Lance are fighting from worse than when they were together. To top it off and what may be freaking Deanna most of all is there is a guy who likes her and isn’t totally freaked out by what she can do. This book answers some questions asks some new ones and will keep you entertained throughout.

This is a standalone, women's adventure, Dragon-shifter, BWWM, Alien Warrior romance novel from Mychal Daniels Dragon's Curvy Romance Series with a HEA.

My review:

Dragon's Curvy Invader is a sweet, sexy, smart read and a great addition to the series.
Dr. Amber Chastain is a smart, driven and curious woman who has been dealing with the stigma of being a black woman in a highly competitive tech world. Now she is on her own and with tech of her own design has discovered dragons among us.
Noran is a dragon warrior determined to keep his people safe. Amber is messing with his head because she doesn’t react like others who have searched for them.
When Noran is struck by lightning Amber nurses him back to health. When a panic attack steals Ambers memory Noran should be home free but he can’t seem to let this fascinating human go.

Thanks Fur Last Night (Fur #1) by Eve Langlais, Milly Taiden and Kate Baxter

Blurb:
Enter a world of smoldering shifters in this scintillating anthology headlined by New York Times bestselling authors Eve Langlais and Milly Taiden with brand-new, never published novellas!

Bearing His Sin
Cole should have killed Anja the moment he realized she was his mate. Instead, he let her live and now they’re on the hunt, chasing the morons who think they can force her to marry another man. Like hell. And while this shapeshifting bear might have his share of sins, he’s not going to let little things like murder and mayhem prevent him from having the woman meant to be the keeper of his heart.

Bought by the Bear
Josilyn Martinez just needed the money to help raise her nephew. That's it. There's no other reason she would take a job posing as a shifter's mate so he can assure his grandmother he's settled down. There's no reason to stay at his place so they learn "more about each other." And there's definitely no good reason she should get involved with the hard, hot, and handsome shifter that's hired her.

Xander just needs a fake mate for a week to get his grandmother off his back. But what's a bear shifter to do when the impostor mate he hired turns out to be his actual mate? All sweet, luscious curves and a heart of gold, Xander's not going to let his mate get away. Now all he has to do is show her that they belong together, one kiss and touch at a time...

The Alpha and I
Devon Kincaid is happy with her new life in Lowman, Idaho. Her little bar on the outskirts of the tiny, isolated town is doing well, and she’s not even interested in finding a man. But when she finds a bleeding man—a hot, hard, handsome, naked bleeding man—in the snow one night, Devon brings him home to care for him. He’s definitely not like any man she’s ever met before, but what she doesn’t realize is that he’s not just a man…

Liam Murphy isn't simply a werewolf. He's the Alpha. In a heated battle with a deadly bear shifter, he's moved his pack to the Sawtooth Wilderness in order to draw danger from them. He was hoping to escape his problems—but the last thing he expects to find in the isolated Idaho wilderness was his mate. Fragile and unfamiliar with the violent supernatural world, the only way he can protect Devon is to make her what he is: a werewolf. He only hopes that in the process convincing her to enter fully into his world, that he doesn’t drive away the one woman he can’t live without.

My review:
Three fabulous shifter stories that will keep you warm this winter.
Bearing His Sin
Big, brawny, bad-boy bear shifter Cole is an assassin pining for the canceled job next door to Anja doesn’t realize she is his mate until she knocks him on his butt literally and figuratively. He isn’t sure if he wants to kiss her or kill her. Okay, he kinda wants to do both. His lifestyle doesn’t lend itself to having a mate but fate has other plans for him. I roared with laughter at this one.
Bought by the Bear
This story would be just a regular “fake fiancé” by any other author. But Milly Taiden never does what you think she will. I fell for Josilyn along with Xander. This story left me with a smile on my lips and in my heart.
The Alpha and I
Devon is on the run from a stalker and has settled down in a tiny town. She is wary but happy. When she finds a naked man bleeding and passed out in the snow she hauls him home against her better judgement. Alpha werewolf Liam wakes naked in a strange bed which wouldn’t be so bad but he has no memory of how he got there and thus begins the tale of Liam and Devon. I enjoyed the story.

In The Line Of Fire (Pytheon Security #3) by Joss Wood

Blurb:
It just got personal…

As the Delta Force legend at Pytheon International, security expert Jett Smith-Jones has run out of leads in his effort to capture criminal mastermind, The Recruiter, the head of a notorious, international human trafficking and recruitment ring. The Recruiter remains one step ahead but when he threatens the principal players at Pytheon, including Dr Samantha Stone, the game is back on. Jett, while valiantly trying to ignore his visceral attraction to the fiery red head, is determined that she have the best protective detail Pytheon can provide. He is the best they have.

PhD Samantha Stone has been tasked to profile The Recruiter’s next move as a consultant of the psychology of criminal behavior. Too bad she can’t discern her attraction to the hard-eyed Delta Force legend. She avoids men who chase danger, but she can’t stop dreaming of falling into Jett’s very muscular arms. Unfortunately for Sam, The Recruiter isn’t the only criminal wanting a piece of her…

As they tighten the net around The Recruiter, the risk to Sam increases. Jett vows he will keep her safe, but who will protect his heart? And will Jett prove to pose the biggest danger to Sam of all?

My review:
In The Line Of Fire is an action packed bodyguard romance. Former military bad a$$ Jett Smith-Jones now works for Pytheon International. PhD Samantha Stone is a petite redhead with a temper to match. She is smart and sassy and takes no crap. She also doesn’t want to be attracted to Jett but she is. He knows she is a bad idea but the chemistry is combustible. Sam has not one but two bad guys after her and it is up to Jett to keep her safe.
This is the third in the series but can be read stand alone. The author does a good job of catching you up. This book is packed with hot guys, surprises, action, love and humor.
