Succubus Blessed (Shackled Souls Trilogy #3) by Heather Long and Giveaway

Blurb:

If I told you, that would be spoiling the last book. I know, I know. Not everyone likes secrets, but that's half of the fun of telling my story. I'll tell you when the time is right. Promise.

The following blurb might contain spoilers for Succubus Unchained. Be warned before you scroll down.

There might be something to this new life of mine.

Being mated to Maddox and bonded to Alfred isn’t so bad. Rogue is stealing his way into my heart and Fin already had part of it. If I were to be totally honest, I think they’ve all taken pieces of my soul.

Choosing them was the scariest thing I’d ever done, until now.

Someone has stolen my dragon and my druid. They’re locked in the last place I’d ever want to see again.
But I’ll do it.
Ill walk right into the belly of the beast, confront the warden and anyone else who gets in my way.
Yeah, sounds a lot braver than I am. But they wouldn’t leave me there and I won’t leave them.

Even if Rogue and Alfred forbade me from going.

Pfft.

What’s the worst that could happen?

*Please note this is a paranormal prison reverse harem and will feature aggressively snarky characters, a bit of twisted humor and a lot of passion. So come join an amazing group of authors in Nightmare Penitentiary, a place you’ll never want to escape from. The author suggests you should always read the forward in her books. This is the third in a trilogy.

My review:

Succubus Blessed is the exciting climax to a thrilling trilogy. In this we find out (mostly) what the prophecy was all about. Fiona becomes even more as her transition continues and so does her relationship with her guys. This is a kick a$$ book that is really all about love. I loved this series and hope that we might get to revisit sometime in the future.

Present Tense (Out of the Fire #3) by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Kelsey is a baby vampire. She was turned at twenty-five and she’s thirty-seven. She was born, raised, and turned in Australia, and managed to keep her original identity after she became a vampire, but now it’s time for her first new identity. She’s a hacker, and a security company in Tennessee has hired her under her new name.

The Fabulosa trio — Fabio, Eunice, and Collosa — have been asked to house the new uber-hacker Drake Security recently hired. They’ve been warned she’s agoraphobic and terrified of her own shadow. Most twelve-year-old vampires haven’t figured out their powers yet, and this one is no different. However, she’s figured out how to hack brains as easily as she can hack a computer, so it isn’t as if she’s completely helpless.

Grizzly, leopard, mongoose, and vampire. Join this kinky foursome as they learn each other’s foibles and quirks, and figure out how to live together in the present tense.

My review:

Present Tense is an intense, sexy and sharp tale of an incredibly gifted young vampire. Kelsey never failed to impress. Watching Kelsey and the Fabulosa trio grow ever closer was intriguing and brutally sexy. I enjoyed this story and didn’t want it to end.

Dragons are Forever: Casino Witch Mysteries 6 by Nikki Haverstock

Blurb:

Newbie witch-turned-private investigator Ella has three things on her wish list:
_That the remodel to her loft can give her a bit of privacy
_That she can finish one more case so she can take a vacation
_That an official investigation doesn't discover she is the person hiding a forbidden dragon
While working a pet store robbery case, Ella is questioned by investigators who suspect she’s hiding a dragon. The smart thing to do is get out of town immediately, dragon in tow, but as soon as she arrives in Vegas for some easy money on a simple case, there’s more going on than meets the eye. She discovers an interesting connection that uncovers a major multi-city heist in the works, but solving the crime while dodging the black hat mages’ investigation of her illicit roommate is a challenge—and her job is on the line.

My review:

Confidence is beautiful. Watching Ella grow more confident in her abilities and her learning to enjoy in being herself is amazing. Dragons are Forever is an interesting mystery but the joy of this story for me is Ella’s growth and the delight she takes in her loved ones.

The Princess Knight (The Scarred Earth Saga #2) by G.A. Aiken

Blurb:

In New York Times bestselling author G.A. Aiken’s gripping new fantasy romance series, the Blacksmith Queen must confront armies and pretenders desperate to take her new-won crown. But with the Princess Knight at her side and a centaur warrior clan at her back, she’ll risk everything for victory . . .

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN

Gemma Smythe dedicated her life to the glory of battle. With her fellow War Monks, she worshipped the war gods, rained destruction on her enemies, and raised the dead when the fancy took her. Until her sister Keeley became the prophesied Blacksmith Queen, and Gemma broke faith with her order to journey to the Amichai Mountain and fight by Keeley’s side.

The Amichai warriors are an unruly, never-to-be-tamed lot, especially their leader-in-waiting, Quinn. But when the War Monks declare support for Gemma’s ruthless younger sister Beatrix, the immaturity of her key ally is the least of Gemma’s problems. She has to get to the grand masters, dispel their grudge against her, and persuade them to fight for Keeley and justice. If her conviction can’t sway them, perhaps Quinn’s irritating, irreverent, clearly unhinged, ferocity will win the day . . .

My review:

I loved this laugh out loud fantasy romp. Gemma Smythe is a war monk and sister to not one but two queens. When things go south this is more than a family squabble. Gemma and Quinn kept me laughing through all the troubles and strife. I can’t recommend this series enough.

Wolf Untamed (SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #11) by Paige Tyler

Blurb:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Paige Tyler brings you the latest in her sexy, pulse-pounding SWAT series

SWAT werewolf Diego Martinez has always had a protective side, so when he meets a newly turned teenage werewolf, and the kid's intriguing mother, he readily offers to help Brandon learn what it means to be a werewolf. But as SWAT's biggest case starts to converge with Bree's family, Diego and Bree find themselves in danger they could never have imagined. It'll take everything they've got to discover the truth and keep each other safe.

My review:

Wolf Untamed is a sweet single mom romance. SWAT werewolf Diego Martinez may be an alpha but he is clueless when it comes to love and a newly turned teenage werewolf. Give him a hostage negotiation any day. I loved watching him fall for Bree and her son. This is an exciting tale of love and intrigue. This is part of a series but can be read standalone.

One Corpse Open Slay (Marshmallow Hollow Mysteries Book 3) by Dakota Cassidy

Blurb:

Welcome to Marshmallow Hollow, Maine, a holiday mystery, where it's all Christmas all the time and murder is hung by the chimney with care...

Halliday Valentine here! It’s a week before Christmas, and my quaint holiday town, Marshmallow Hollow, is chock-a-block with seasonal activities. Some less fun than others…like the ice sculpting competition my bestie, Stiles, has talked me into. Let’s just say, as a pair, Michelangelo we ain’t. I’m secretly relieved when our epically awful ice display gets damaged. It gives me a chance to watch my new beau, Hobbs, compete in the sled race.

But not five seconds in, and Hobbs’s sled-loving dog, Stephen King, escapes my grip to get in on the action—and boy, does he. He even manages to find himself a sled to ride. Too bad it’s already occupied. With the corpse of a renowned ice sculpting judge.

True-crime lovers that we are, Hobbs and I jump right into the investigation. It’s not nosiness, I swear. A little kitten’s fate is on the line, after all (long story)!

Only problem? A bajillion suspects. The victim was nothing if not an equal-opportunity jerk, universally hated by everyone he’d ever met. And every suspect has an air-tight alibi. Not to mention, the murder weapon is a giant mystery the police can’t solve.

All this sleuthing would be a heck of a lot easier if I could just use my magic. But can I trust Hobbs with that reveal? Or more accurately, is he ready for that reveal?

My review:

One Corpse Open Slay is the third in the bewitching Marshmallow Hollow Mysteries series. The mysteries are challenging but what make this series special is the cast of characters. Halliday Valentine is a witch whose spells go slightly wonky if she works under pressure. Her familiar is a hummingbird with a deep voice and an attitude. Hal’s grandmother is a talking reindeer (not Hal’s fault). Her best friend is a gay cop. And then there is her developing relationship with Dainty Hobbs the hunky Texan that lives on her property and his dog Stephan King.

Marshmallow Hollow is a charming town and Hal owns a factory that makes everything Christmas. That factory is closed for the entire month of December leaving Hal too much time on her hands.

In this installment Hal rescues a kitten (and names it Barbara after Streisand whom I adore) and solves a murder by almost becoming a victim herself. This adorable mystery will have you laughing and sighing and will leave you with a little bit of hope.

Mated To The Werewolf Next Door (Maccon City Shifters #1) by C.D. Gorri

Blurb:

She's on the run from her ex-husband to protect her half-Shifter daughter. He's trying to clear his name after being falsely convicted of a crime. Fate has brought them to the same seaside town, but the rest is up to them.

Find out in this classic romance tale with a furry twist!

My review:

Love sees through different eyes. In this single mom romance Lydia is on the run from her ex a nasty piece of work and ends up living next door to an ex con. She has a little girl to protect but the heart wants what the heart wants. I love that these two come from very different backgrounds and yet they meet on common ground. This is a sweet feel good story.

Chimera's Edge (Crimson Moon Hideaway) by Renee Hewitt

Blurb:

When a chimera meets a dragon, sparks will fly... but will someone get burned?

Effie Follett is on a business trip to Crimson Moon Hideaway… but she has some extra time to enjoy some rest and relaxation at the newest hot spot for paranormals. But unlike the other guests, she won’t be letting her shifter side out. Chimeras tend to scare people, and she doesn’t want to make anyone’s vacation unpleasant.

Jace Argyros is a silver dragon shifter, prince of a Greek island and heir to his clan, but all he wants to do is escape his duty and have some fun for a weekend. When he runs across Effie, he’s instantly drawn to her.

But both are keeping secrets that could get the other one singed.

Can chimera and dragon find their happily ever after? Or will Jianna regret conspiring to bring these two together?

My review:

Chimera's Edge is an enthralling tale by new to me author Renee Hewitt. This is a thoughtful tale of love and self-esteem. Effie has been raised to think of her chimera as a freak and it affects the way she thinks of herself. Jace is a prince among dragons but he wants to be wanted for himself. The magic of  Crimson Moon Hideaway may be the start to these two healing and finding love. I fell into this tale and never wanted to leave.

Dragon Falling (Dragon Intelligence Agency #1) by Julia Mills

Blurb:

Family is everything to Ellie MacLeish…everything. Every day for three years, she’s mourned the loss of her parents, tried to find the people responsible for their murders. Holding tight to her only living family – her sister and her aunt - this brave young Witch searches for answers in the most unlikely of places.

When assigned the murder case of two powerful Witches very close to his hometown, Agent Ranger Evans never expected to find his Mate in the process. Unfortunately, three years have passed, he’s recovering from a life-threatening fight with the people responsible, and he’s no closer to claiming the sweet Ellie MacLeish as his own.

Why is it danger is always lurking in the most unlikely places? Who could be orchestrating the murder of innocent Witches? Why leave their bodies out in the open to be found so easily? Can the answers truly lie at the exclusive Crimson Moon Resort?

Only Destiny knows the answers and She’s not talking. But, one thing’s for sure Fate Will Not Be Denied, and neither will the sexy Agent Evans.

My review:

Dragon Falling is a brilliant second chance romance. Ellie knows Ranger Evans is her mate. She can’t understand why he left with no word. Ranger has regretted it ever since. I love that even though Ranger is a dragon shifter some things are just so male they transcend species. Ranger is such a guy. This story, like everything Julia Mills writes, will delight and charm you.

Her Alien Mates is a smart story of trust, forgiving oneself and love. Shadow has a past she isn’t proud of but is learning to start over. Kade is in danger of letting his past destroy his future. Admit You Want Me: An Enemies to Lovers Romance (Irresistible Billionaires Book 3) by Ajme Williams

Blurb:

A billion-dollar nightmare? Check.
An arrogant former Army man? Check.
My worst client ever? Double check.

What bad deeds did I do to deserve this billionaire as a client?
Sure, the money is good.
But that’s the only reason I’m here.
That’s the only reason I’m giving Easton a makeover that he desperately needs.
His wild beard needs taming if he’s going to be a hot shot businessman.
But he has a real wild side to him that I don’t know what to do about.
His filthy mouth spoils my day.
His piercing eyes make me lose my mind.
Easton may be bad news, but he adores my curves.
He adores me.

I could only keep my distance from him for so long.
Falling in love with my billionaire enemy was not a part of my plan when I moved to a new city as a celebrity stylist.

Neither was breaking the rules and ruining my career.
But maybe, just maybe, Easton might be worth losing everything over.

Reader note: This is a full-length, enemies to lovers billionaire romance novel from my Irresistible Billionaires Series. Each book in this series can be read as a standalone. ‘Admit You Want Me’ features Easton and Artemis, a whole lot of craziness along with angsty, raw emotions that could leave you teary-eyed with a very satisfying HEA.

My review:

I almost didn’t finish this as Easton was a complete jerk at the beginning of the story. I stuck with it and was happy I did.  Easton and Missy may be total opposites but they are perfect for each other. Sweet, sassy and sexy. This is a terrific addition to the series although each book stands well on its own.

Loving York (Warwick Dragons #2) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

Book 2 of the Warwick Dragons

Welcome to the world of the powerful Warwick family. These womanizing dragons are about to meet their matches.

York Warwick, dragon shifter, widower, and owner of the most renowned bank in the world, is adamant that working twenty hours a day is normal. No, he doesn’t need to open his heart to love again, no matter what his meddling mother believes. He’s done with love. So what if he likes spending time with the stunning antique dealer his mom has hired. It’s just because she’s a daredevil in five-inch heels…and his mate.

Josie Essa isn’t a thief. Okay, so maybe that’s exactly what she is. But by day, she is nothing more than an antique dealer who was hired by none other than Johanna Warwick. Josie quickly finds herself caring for the family—especially the hot, grumpy York, who has an obsession with her high heels. Too bad she’s falling in love with the man she has to steal from…

Between her secrets, his past, and the blackmailing snake shifter who could destroy Josie’s life, the fragile relationship York and Josie are trying to build seems to be doomed from the start. But maybe—with a bit of luck—truth can set fate right and bring the destined mates together.

My review:

I LOVED THIS STORY! The grumpy old shifter and the adrenaline junky witch. These two will keep you on your toes. I really liked Josie. The girl knows what she wants and is brave enough to put herself out there and go for it. A fantastic tale.

Crimson Moon Hideaway: Time Wasn't Ready (Women of the Fold #1) by Terri A. Wilson

Blurb:

The women of The Fold are willing to give everything to protect those they love.

Garnet
They call it retirement. “Take a vacation,” they said. I’m the longest-lasting member of security for The Fold, and they think I’ll be happy maintaining an herb garden or selling spells to humans? As much as I’m not looking forward to this, I owe it to Samuel, my familiar to give retirement a chance. He’s worked hard to keep me safe all these years; I owe it to him, but it just may kill me.

Samuel
Garnet is the most stubborn witch I know. But I can’t fault her because it’s kept her alive. She’s kicked some of the toughest ass that existed. She’s earned this retirement and it may finally give me a chance to share with her how I really feel. I’ve known she was my mate for a long time. Now, I just need to find the right way to tell her.

Garnet Wisteria served as the tough-as-nails head of security for The Fold, one of four witch councils. No one will ever live up to her legacy, but there’s one case she still needs to finish. Now a forced retirement and a vacation to a new resort, The Crimson Moon, will give her a chance to reevaluate her life and enjoy the things she’s missed, like the hunky bartender who knows exactly which buttons to push.

Samuel Morrison, Garnet’s bonded, panther shifter, familiar, gave up his traditional shifter lifestyle, in order to take care of her. He never regretted a moment because he loved her. Now that she’s retired, he has the chance to share that love with her and claim her as his mate. He has no idea how she feels, but it’s either now or never.

Garnet and Samuel find themselves at The Crimson Moon Resort as the first step of their new journey, but some criminals will never truly go away, and when one of the worst shows up at the resort, Garnet has to overcome every doubt she ever had and become the bad-ass she was always meant to be. But can she answer the call to protect and serve others and share her heart with a man who gave up his life for her?

My review:

Sometimes you don’t know what you’ve got till you almost lose it. Samuel has always been there for Garnet but now she is going through some major life changes. Can he keep her by his side. Will she need him as much as he needs her? Can they take their relationship to the next level after all these years? Find out as Garnet and Samuel take a well-deserved vacation at Crimson Moon Hideaway where love is only part of the magic.

Crimson Moon Hideaway: Winning Paradise by Mireille Chester

Blurb:

When she wins a trip to the Crimson Moon Hideaway Resort, Detective Natalie Greenleaf is thrilled. Being an Elf hidden in the human world can be exhausting and a vacation to a resort where paranormals are free to be themselves is just what she needs. One whole week to forget about life, cases, and criminals.

Bear shifter Gage Loneclaw is used to being alone. It’s been that way since being exiled from his clan at a young age for refusing to follow orders. With his bees to keep him company, he is perfectly content to stay on his quiet piece of land, selling honey at the local farmer’s market. When he gets the call to let him know he’s won a week at the five-star resort, he almost turns down the offer, but a small, nagging voice in the back of his thoughts convinces him to go.

When the past comes back to haunt both Nat and Gage, the pair find they have much in common. While neither of them had even thought of finding a mate, Fate does what She will. Winning Paradise may have been part of Her plan, but they’ll have to survive the week if they’re going to have a chance at a future.

My review:

Get comfortable because once you start this you won’t put it down till the very end. This story is a romantic mystery that will keep you guessing. I adored Nat and Gage.
