Inked Memories (Montgomery Ink #8) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:
The Montgomery Ink series by NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues when the final Denver Montgomery sibling refuses to fall for his brother’s former flame—the company’s new plumber.

Wes Montgomery watched his entire family fall in love, and now finds himself ready to settle down. Except the one person he seems to find chemistry with is not only his twin’s ex, she also works for Montgomery Inc. But when the two find themselves in one compromising situation after another, Wes realizes he’s having second thoughts about the dynamic woman who’s burst her way into his life. Sure she sets off his temper, but she also makes him hot in every other way possible.

Jillian Reid never loved her best friend like everyone thought she should, so she pushed him away so he could have his future. Now, despite fighting it, she finds herself attracted to the one man she shouldn’t. When her father’s health takes a turn for the worse, and a danger no one saw coming show its face, she’s forced to turn to Wes for help. The two of them have fought off their attraction long enough, and each cave to the desire. But this enemies-to-lovers tale might have an ending no one ever dreamed of.

My review:
Wes Montgomery is the last man standing. He is the last single Montgomery and he is feeling it. It’s not like he doesn’t want to settle down its that he came close to settling for the wrong woman and has yet to find the right one. What he feels for Jillian Reid is confusing. She is his brother Storm’s best friend and Storm’s ex friend with benefits. She works for their company. They always fight and snipe at each other. But she gets him. She makes him feel things he doesn’t want to feel.
Inked Memories may tell the story of the last man standing of the Denver Montgomery’s but the author has hinted it won’t be the end of the series after all there are other Montgomery’s out there. Wes & Jillian’s story is an emotional rollercoaster with all the feelings associated with a Montgomery Ink story and you won’t be disappointed.

Gray Wolf Mate by Dianna Love

Blurb:

New York Times Bestseller Dianna Love has created a unique shifter series with immortals, mages, witches and ... sexy big bad shifters.

Eight years ago, shifters came out to the public and, since then, the world has never been the same for many.

Tess Janver and Cole Cavanaugh fell deeply in love in college ... then he disappeared without a word. She feared the worst, or thought she had. After seven years, he returns as a beefed up version of his former self. That’s not the only thing different. As someone working in a preternatural criminal investigation unit and the daughter of a senator determined to rid the world of dangerous shifters, Tess is caught between performing her duty to humans, protecting the only family she has left and risking her heart to a man who once destroyed it.

Cole had no choice in becoming a Gallize shifter and now faces a deadline from a fatal mating curse he can’t stop. The only woman he’s ever loved is human and wouldn’t survive bonding with him. He never planned on Tess finding out he was a wolf shifter, but she’s in danger from a rogue pack. He’s not leaving until she’s safe ... and he has a chance to redeem himself in her eyes before his time is up.

(Each book will be a stand alone story)

My review:

Gray Wolf Mate is the first in an exciting new shifter series by the fantastic Dianna Love. There are shifters and then there are Gallize shifters. Gallize shifters were created to keep the other shifters in check. They are strong, smart and sexy as hell.
Cole is a Gallize shifter that thought he was human until his Gray Wolf was called. It forced him to abandon the woman he loved 7 years earlier. This story has them reuniting but still apart. Cole thinks he is protecting her. Tess thinks he is an idiot and she can protect herself. Can they protect their hearts?
I liked Tess. Tess is super smart and ambitious but not to the point of running over folks to get to where she wants to be. Tess focuses on fair. Her father focuses on hate. That is going to cause a problem.
I really enjoyed this new world and look forward to visiting often.

City of the Lost (Casey Duncan #1) by Kelley Armstrong

Blurb:

Casey Duncan is a homicide detective with a secret: when she was in college, she killed a man. She was never caught, but he was the grandson of a mobster and she knows this crime will catch up to her. Casey's best friend, Diana, is on the run from a violent, abusive ex-husband. When Diana's husband finds her, and Casey herself is attacked shortly after, Casey knows it's time for the two of them to disappear again.
Diana has heard of a domestic violence support town made for people like her, a town that takes in people on the run who want to shed their old lives. You must apply to live in Rockton and if you're accepted, it means walking away entirely from your old life, living off the grid in the wilds of Canada: no cell phones, no Internet, no mail, no computers, very little electricity, and no way of getting in or out without the town council's approval. As a murderer, Casey isn't a good candidate, but she has something they want; she's a homicide detective, and Rockton has just had its first real murder. She and Diana are in. However, soon after arriving, Casey realizes that the identity of a murderer isn't the only secret Rockton is hiding - in fact, she starts to wonder if she and Diana might be in even more danger in Rockton than they were in their old lives.
An edgy, gripping crime novel from a bestselling urban fantasy writer, City of the Lost boldly announces a major new player in the crime fiction world.

My review:

WOW! City of the Lost will suck you in and keep you on the edge of your seat. Kelley Armstrong has a winner in this series.
Casey Duncan is a smart homicide cop who let fear and anger create a circumstance where she killed a man. Yes he was the scum of the earth but she shouldn’t have killed him. She has been living with this for 12 years as she climbed through the ranks of the police force. Now her past has caught up with her and she needs a safe place. Enter Rockton a safe harbor for those who have made mistakes and victims that need to disappear.   Casey's best friend, Diana, needs to get away from an abusive ex so they both arrange to move to this town in the middle of nowhere with few modern amenities but a chance to start anew.  But despite Rockton’s billing as a safe haven it does have crime and Casey’s skills are needed.
I fell for Casey. She is a smart overachiever with debts to pay but she isn’t angsty about it. I really enjoyed this book and am diving into the next installment asap.

Billionaire's Baby by Ella Finch

Blurb:
A humble grape picker? Well, that’s what Oliver Wentworth lead me to believe. I didn’t care what his job was after the one magical night we spent together. All I could think of was his wit, his charm, and his amazingly delicious body. I couldn’t get enough of him, and for a few brief months my life was like a fairytale romance involving fine wine, cozy evenings in Oliver’s cabin, and the best sex of my entire life.

But then I peed on a stick and everything changed. I could never have prepared myself for what happened next. My carefree grape picker was not the man I thought he was, and all of my dreams were beginning to look like nightmares.

Oliver says he loves me... but a relationship built on lies, an unexpected baby, and a family from hell? How could this possibly work?

Billionaire’s Baby is a full-length, smoking hot, standalone novel with a happy ever after ending and a bad boy you won’t be able to forget!

My review:
I received this book to review and what follows is my opinion.
Ella Finch is a “new to me” author so I had no idea what to expect. The plot of Billionaire's Baby was predictable and would have been a whole lot more fun if I could have been more invested in the characters. I felt like Oliver was a spoiled brat and Jessica was a clueless ditz. The writing was a bit choppy and I think that had the author had a good editor this review would have been quite different.

Dragon’s Curvy Dilemma Mychal Daniels

Dragon's Curvy Dilemma  (Dragon's Curvy Romance Series Book 1) by Mychal Daniels

Blurb:

Dragons need privacy.
Billionaire dragon, Asher Princeton is a single dad and secret dragon-shifter. He just wants to get away from it all to spend time with his young son over the summer. Its time he showed the boy how to deal with being a dragonling.
Daryl Livingston is squatting in his guest house. The young woman makes his dragon come alive. The last thing he expected was to find his true mate living in his guest house. Only problem… it’s going to take everything in Asher’s power to convince her of that.
Will a new love teach an old dragon exciting tricks?

Asher Princeton…
• She’s a brilliant, know-it-all, trespasser squatting in my summer Lair’s guest house
• I’m supposed to turn her into the police but this dragon’s got secrets, dark ones
• Normally I’d toss out an intruder without a backward glance or question, but she’s different
• The dragon in me and my five-year-old son have other plans
• Funny thing…She thinks I’m letting her off scot-free
• Her arrogant innocence challenges me in the best way
• I might be a single dad focused on raising my son, but she’s ignited a fire long doused
• It’s in her eyes and those curves that bewitch, seduce, and tempt my resolve like no other
• Instead of releasing her, I’m going to make her moan with pleasure
• That’s it—she’s mine
• Only problem—her name. She’s the one woman I need to stay far away from
• Our relationship is damned from the beginning
• She can never find out what happened to her father
• Daryl is off limits

Daryl Livingston…
• He’s gorgeous and infuriating
• But his kid… makes my heart melt
• It was stupid getting caught living in his guest house like this, but I’ll appeal to his sense of duty
• I’m willing to do a lot of things to be able to stay—I have no place to go
• But, if he thinks I’m going to be his maid or nanny, he’s got another thing coming. I’ll take jail over that
• Weird thing… he makes me feel things I’ve never felt before
• It’s in those eyes of his, like pools from the depth of his soul they enchant and entice me to want to touch him
• That’s it—I can’t stay
• Instead of behaving like a grateful house guest, all I want is to offer up my virginity to him like some damned lovesick school girl
• Only problem—I’m on a mission to regain the respect my father deserved and find out what happened to him
• I can’t get sidetracked. Not when I’m so close, no matter how much Asher makes me pant

This is a HOT Curvy Virgin BWWM Shifter Romance full of adventure and sass with an HEA.

My review:
This book kept me flipping pages faster than a fan at church. I love Daryl Livingston Jr. although her name kept me giggling at inappropriate times. Daryl is super smart and sassy. Asher is hot as fire and had me drooling a bit. I really enjoyed this story.

Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck (Southern Eclectic .5) by Molly Harper

Blurb:
Carl and Marianne were high school sweethearts, loving the way only teenagers can—with no thought to logic or pride, just a bone-headed, optimistic frenzy of unicorns and hormones. That was all they needed. Or so Carl thought.

Scared of being stuck in Lake Sackett, Georgia, like so many of her friends—without a real shot at a future or achieving her own dreams—Marianne panicked and bolted to college after stomping Carl’s heart into the high grass. But when she returns to Lake Sackett for the summer with her family after years away, she and Carl are drawn together like moths to a flame. As they rekindle their old romance and remember what it was like to be in love, they have to wonder: is this, finally, their real chance at happiness?

My review:
Sweet, funny southern romance nobody writes like Molly Harper. I laughed and loved and laughed some more. Molly Harper can make you giggle at the most unlikely events. Carl is just like the guys in the Georgian town I live in and I think we have all met a girl like Marianne. Grab a glass of sweet tea and enjoy.

Pint-Sized Protector (Bad Boy Inc. #2) by Eve Langlais

Blurb:
She might be small but she'll still kick your ass.

An assignment to babysit a rich dude isn’t Kacy’s idea of a fun assignment. Especially since he and his bodyguard are just like all the other boys she knows, thinking she’s too tiny to pack a punch.

I’ll show him.

She’ll show him that sexy things come in small packages and he won’t be able to stop himself from falling for the pint-sized protector. Problem is, who’ll protect his heart?

When a gunman threatens her life, he wants to send her away, but her Latina pride won’t allow herself to be treated like anything less than a pro.

Will pride also stand in the way of her happiness?

My review:
Pint-Sized Protector is laugh out loud excitement. The author does a wonderful job of mixing romantic suspense and humor. Kacy is kick ass and underestimated because she comes in a pint size package but her heart is as big as Marcus’s biceps. I am so looking forward to more in this series.
This may be the second in the Bad Boy Inc. series but can be read standalone.

Code of Honor (HORNET #4) by Tonya Burrows

Blurb:
Jesse Warrick used to consider himself a kickass medic, but a teammate’s brush with death has him questioning everything. Now he’s been promoted to field commander of HORNET. How can he lead when he can’t get his shit together? And how can he focus when the sexy new recruit makes him want to break the rules?

Lanie Delcambre can’t seem to find solid footing within the elite hostage rescue team. Worse, the man she’s loved for most of her life is now her boss. She’d kill to act on the chemistry between her and Jesse, but she can’t risk ruining her career.

It was only supposed to be a training mission. No live ammo, no hostages, and no real bad guys—only someone didn’t give the bad guys that memo. When their hotel is taken hostage with half of HORNET inside, Jesse and Lanie are the team’s only hope of escaping alive…

My review:
Code of Honor is a fantastic addition to the HORNET series. Jesse Warrick is many things, a cowboy, a father, and the HORNET teams medic. He has been through hell and come out the other side. Lanie Delcambre is a former Texas Ranger and the only woman on the HORNET team. Lanie and Jesse have a past and if they want to have a future they are going to have to get through this mission alive.
I really enjoy this series. If romantic suspense is your thing then I highly recommend this story.

Master of Magic (Mageverse #10) by Angela Knight

Blurb:

Return to New York Times bestselling author Angela Knight’s Mageverse in this never-before-published novella about a man with mysterious abilities and a hidden past—and the woman who must help him decipher his secrets.

Olivia Flynn finds herself on the brink of death, unable to call upon her Sidhe magic, when a handsome stranger rescues her. But this male is no ordinary human, and Olivia wants nothing to do with him. The foreign magic boiling around him is far beyond the power of even the Sidhe.

Rhys Kincade has never been able to explain his magical abilities. Olivia is the first person he’s encountered who shares his gifts. But before he can ask her about them, they find themselves under attack by a pack of werewolf assassins. An even deadlier threat follows, and the pair is forced to rely on each other as they fight unknown enemies—and an ever-growing attraction between them.

My review:

Magic! I loved the earlier books in the Mageverse series and am so glad the author has graced us with a return to that world. If you’ve never read the Mageverse books (you should) it won’t get in the way of your enjoyment of this sexy story. With magic, intrigue and lots of love this story will transport you to a realm where anything is possible.

Blurb:
Anything can happen when you let your guard down . . .

After receiving a violent threat on the heels of her father’s disappearance from the town of Arrowhead Bay, Devon Cole fears for her life—until Vigilance, a local private security agency, steps in to shield her from danger. Although she isn’t usually quick to surrender her freedom, she has no problem stripping her defenses for her new sexy bodyguard . . .

Tortured by the painful memory of lost love, Logan Malik is determined not to fall for a client again. So when he’s tasked with watching over Devon day and night, he’s focused on doing his job. Day is no problem, but as tensions rise at night, nothing can protect them from giving in to unbridled passion . . .

My review:
Hide and Seek is the first in an exciting new series by the fabulous Desiree Holt. This is a sexy, sweet and fast-paced romantic suspense. Devon is no shrinking violet and Logan is hot as can be but my favorite character from this story is Avery, the head of Vigilance, which bodes well for this series. If you like bodyguard romance this will be right up your alley.

Leashed by Candace Blevins and CONTEST

Leashed (The Dark Underbelly of The Chattanooga Supernaturals #3) by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Abbott is dealing with the fallout of becoming Master of Maryland and must figure out what to do with the few dozen blood-bonded shapeshifters he inherited.

One of the wolves catches his eye, but if Abbott learned anything from his brief time with Kirsten, it's that he's long had relationships with people obligated to do his will and he needs to change the pattern. Still, he moves the young man into his home to begin learning some of Abbot’s soon-to-retire housekeeper’s duties.

Spencer was abducted at twelve and turned into a pleasure slave — bitten to become a wolf who could stand up to abuse and live, but he’s never had to control the animal inside him. His Master kept both Spencer and his wolf on a tight leash. Spencer’s new Master has different rules and expects Spencer to think for himself — a scary prospect for someone who’s done nothing but follow orders for so long. Still, he’s ordered to help people instead of harming them, so Spencer does everything he can to please his new Master.

Abbott can see an iron will and high morals in Spencer, but releasing the blood-bond enslaving him is impossible — the boy’s never even met his wolf and would have no hope of controlling the feral animal inside him. However, Abbott won’t take things past a cordial relationship with the just-turned eighteen-year-old while he’s still a slave.

My review:
m/m
We all have different ties to people and things. Some good and some bad. But when you hand your leash to someone you hope is deserving it can be life altering. Such is the case of Spencer and Abbott. Spencer is 18 and Abbott is over 4000 but each can learn a thing or two from each other. If there is such a thing as a sweet BDSM novel this is it.

Wild on the Red Carpet (The Hollywood Showmance Chronicles #3) by Olivia Jaymes and Contest

Wild on the Red Carpet (The Hollywood Showmance Chronicles #3) by Olivia Jaymes

Blurb:

Meet the men of the Thunder movie franchise... Movie Stars. Sex Symbols. Bad Boys. What's a good girl gonna do?

Tyler Gaylord is a world famous movie star and one of Hollywood's most notorious playboys. He enjoys the company of beautiful, willing women as long as they don't misunderstand the rules. There will be expensive gifts, champagne-soaked parties, and passion filled nights. But there will be no love or talk of forever. No offense to the lovely ladies, but he's simply not a commitment type of guy.

Wilhemina "Billie" Oliver is a struggling actress who lives in Tyler's guest cottage. She's also his best friend and the only person he trusts to tell him the truth. She'd do anything for him and he'd do anything for her. No questions asked. The one thing she won't let him do, however, is help her career. She'll make it on her own or she won't make it at all.

To win the role of his dreams Tyler needs to appear happily married. The director doesn't believe that a serial womanizer can play a character deeply and passionately in love. So of course Tyler turns to his best friend Billie to help him out. They already spend all their time together so nothing will change but her last name.

It's the perfect solution and it's not like he asked her to help him bury a body or anything. So why is she being so difficult?

My review:
Wild on the Red Carpet is a feel good sweet friends to lovers romance. Man boy movie star Tyler Gaylord wants to move on in his career. He knows the role he wants but the director want someone more stable who knows what love is. That isn’t Tyler. Billie is Tylers best friend and one of the few people he trusts implicitly. So he begs , bribes and pleads with her to become his fiancé. I love that Billie isn’t a pushover and watching Tyler grovel is fun. The best thing about this story for me was the emphasis put on trust. Without trust love is incomplete. This story left me smiling and feeling good.

Finding More (Tiger Nip 3) by Brandy Walker and Contest

Blurb:
Devon Anderson’s life changed forever when his wife died; leaving him to care for their three small children, run his thriving Family Practice, and be the Golden Boy of their small Wyoming town, Garden. He thought he’d found the perfect solution to his loneliness and desire to have a companion when he asked Mary Jane Poppy to be his wife, but fate had something else in mind.
Fate came in the form of lithe, hybrid Carolline Greene; make that Dr. Carolline Greene, expert in Hybrid Development and Studies, and the one who showed Mary Jane she could go after the man she really wanted. A year down the road and Devon was still struggling to stay afloat with all of his responsibilities and battling the need for a companion even more.
Carolline Greene loved the new life she was building in Garden. She had a home she could call her own. A few very dear friends she would do anything for. Most importantly, though, she had a position at the hospital that allowed her the time and resources to help people like herself. Give them the support, knowledge, and understanding she had never had. She saw a bright, albeit lonely future, but she could deal with that. It wasn’t until a leisurely morning run, which ended with her thwarting the attempted kidnapping of three kids, did her life take a sudden and life-changing turn.
Now that Fate had pushed them together, will Devon and Carolline look beyond first impressions and rumors to see what they could be? Mates meant to be together…forever.

My review:
Finding More was well worth the wait. This book has Doctors, a single dad and shifters of all kinds. There is danger, excitement and lots of love. This book made me laugh and sigh and yell out loud. Though it is part of a series it can be read stand alone. For a fun escape and a love story that will suck you in this book will have you Finding More each time you read it. Highly recommended.

From the author of The Iron Druid Chronicles, a thrilling novel that kicks off a fantasy series with an entirely new mythology—complete with shape-shifting bards, fire-wielding giants, and children who can speak to astonishing beasts

MOTHER AND WARRIOR
Tallynd is a soldier who has already survived her toughest battle: losing her husband. If Tallynd fails, her boys may never become men.

SCHOLAR AND SPY
Dervan is an historian who longs for a simple, quiet life. But he’s drawn into intrigue when he’s hired to record the tales of a mysterious bard who may be a spy or even an assassin for a rival kingdom. As the bard shares his fantastical stories, Dervan makes a shocking discovery: He may have a connection to the tales, one that will bring his own secrets to light.

REBEL AND HERO
Abhi’s family have always been hunters, but Abhi wants to choose a different life for himself. Embarking on a journey of self-discovery, Abhi soon learns that his destiny is far greater than he imagined: a powerful new magic thrust upon him may hold the key to defeating the giants once and for all—if it doesn’t destroy him first.

Set in a magical world of terror and wonder, this novel is a deeply felt epic of courage and war, in which the fates of these characters intertwine—and where ordinary people become heroes, and their lives become legend.

My review:

In this exciting new series Keven Hearne has created a fantastic world where anything can happen and usually does. Travel with a talented Bard with a fun sense of the absurd and a quiet historian who is to spy to determine if the Bard is a spy. And while this tale may echo some of the headlines in todays news we can guarantee you will enjoy this story more.  This is epic fantasy at its finest.

Jagged Edge (The Arsenal Book 1) by Cara Carnes and Contest

Blurb:
Mary “The Edge” Reynolds is the most sought-after back office operative around-the creative genius pulling the ultimate bad-asses out of impossible situations. She’s never failed on a mission, and she’s not about to fail on the most important mission ever-keeping her newly designed security system safe. Relying on others isn’t in her nature, but the newly formed Arsenal is her only hope for escape when she’s kidnapped.

She is the Edge.

The Edge never breaks.

Never quits.

Dylan Mason and his brothers have put everything on the line to form The Arsenal. When the paramilitary arena is rocked by Edge’s capture, he’ll do whatever it takes to get the fearless operative back, but his wary heart isn’t ready to handle the vulnerable woman buried beneath the hardened shell. Getting her back was simple. Keeping her and her “security system” HERA out of enemy hands is another story.

Together they must hunt down the faction behind her capture and subsequent torture to keep HERA from becoming an unstoppable terroristic threat. What they uncover could destroy them both.

My review:
This book goes into some dark places and may have triggers for some readers. That said, Jagged Edge is a powerful story of survival and love and is the first in what looks to be a terrific new series.  Mary “The Edge” Reynolds is my newest hero. She is smart and strong. She isn’t perfect but she seems to be perfect for Dylan Mason. Mary is like a lot of us who live for our work and forget about the woman we are and her needs. Everything is shunted aside for the job.
I was sucked into this book and didn’t leave until long after the last page.

Death, Taxes, and Pecan Pie (Tara Holloway #11.5) by Diane Kelly

Blurb:

People are going a little nutty in this new case for IRS Special Agent Tara Holloway!
Tara is looking for a fun, relaxing time with her family at Pecan Palooza: a full-day festival dedicated to celebrating the nut that put the tiny town of Pecan Crossing on the map. Between a parade, carnival games, rides, the Pecan Princess pageant, and several pecan bake-offs, Tara wants quality time with her fiancé Nick before their upcoming nuptials.
But when a mysterious woman in a hat shows some suspicious behavior and the bake-off winners don’t look that surprised when they win…could the competitions be rigged? Despite the lack of evidence, Tara is determined to dethrone the cheaters and make sure the actual winners can have their pie and eat it too.
A lead-in to the series finale, Death, Taxes, and Pecan Pie is a sweet treat!

My review:

Tara can’t restrain her curiosity even when at the Pecan Palooza. When she sees hinky hijinks going on she just has to investigate. Death, Taxes, and Pecan Pie is a fun short standalone that will have you giggling from the first page to the last.

A.L.F.A. Mates (A.L.F.A. #1-2) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

The Alpha League Federal Agency is sworn to protect humanity from paranormal threats and now the first two novels in New York Times bestselling author Milly Taiden's sexy A.L.F.A. series are available for the first time in one print volume!

ELEMENTAL MATING
Brilliant scientist Melinda Caster has discovered a new strain of the Zika virus that stimulates synaptic growth in embryos, causing neuron development beyond normal human levels. When her lab is broken into, Melinda realizes that someone has been keeping tabs on her research and wants it for themselves. A.L.F.A. sends in jaguar-shifter Agent Parish Hamel to help Melinda discover who is after the virus and why. But the attraction between Parish and Melinda may be the real discovery.

MATING NEEDS
Amerella Capone is the great-grandniece of the infamous Al Capone, and she won't let anyone in the Las Vegas Mafia forget it. When Amerella unintentionally stumbles upon bad family business that she wants no part of, she becomes a star witness for a high-profile government case. A.L.F.A. is called in to keep Amerella safe, but cougar-shifter Agent François Dubois has history with his charge, and the secrets between them might do more damage than any gun pointed at his head.

My review:
Two fun books in one volume.
ELEMENTAL MATING
I love that this book takes place in Uganda. I absolutely adore the fact that our heroine, Melinda, is a gifted scientist. I liked the mix of science and paranormal. I enjoyed the story. I just wish I could have felt the attraction between jaguar-shifter Agent Parish Hamel and Melinda more. It felt a little forced to me which is not usually an issue in this authors work.
MATING NEEDS
Whatever issues the author had in the first book were cleared up by the time she wrote this one. This is a fabulous read. Amerella Capone is feisty and sweet. Her son is adorable. All she needs is to let her mate cougar-shifter Agent François Dubois back into her heart. In this book it may very well take a village to get these two back together again.

High Balls (Balls to the Wall) by Tara Lain

Blurb:

A Balls to the Wall Romance

Though only twenty-six, single father Theodore Walters lives with his head in the clouds and his feet firmly planted in reality. At the center of his life is Andy, his seven-year-old son, with whom he shares no DNA, though nobody—including his religious-fanatic in-laws—knows that, and Theodore will do anything to keep them from finding out. Theodore works hard to get his PhD and the tenure and salary that might follow to make a better life for Andy—but the head of his department thinks his dissertation on Jane Austen and romance novels is frivolous.
Theodore’s carefully planned life goes off the rails when he walks into a popular Laguna Beach bar and meets the bartender, “Snake” Erasmo, a pierced and tattooed biker who sends Theodore’s imagination—and libido—soaring. Snake has even more secrets than Theodore and couldn’t be a less “appropriate” match, but he might be the only guy with the skills to show Theodore that happily ever after is for real.

My review:

Never judge a book by its cover. PHD candidate Theodore Walters should know this. His dissertation is actually a cause near and dear to my heart. Why doesn’t the romance genre get the respect it deserves?  Theodore is a 26 year old gay single dad who looks like he is much younger than that. He will do whatever is necessary to keep his son even if it means kowtowing to the boys homophobic grandparents. But when he meets the tattooed, Harley riding bartender “Snake” Erasmo his careful world gets rocked off its axis. Can he have love, respect and most importantly raise his son without interference? With the help of his Laguna Beach friends he may just have a shot.
This book went straight to my heart and took up residence. I could identify so much with his fight to keep his son and still find love. I LOVED his dissertation topic and could go off on that for days. High Balls is a warm and sweet tale of learning what is important in life.

Tales of the Djinn: The City of Endless Night by Emma Holly

Blurb:

When your boyfriend is a real live angel other men can’t compete.

Amateur magician Georgie swears this is true . . . until she and Connor leave everything they know to save the genie world. That’s where she discovers angels don’t have a monopoly on sex appeal.

Sultan Iksander would rather lose his smoke than fall for Georgie, no matter how smart and brave she is. The human race are rivals to genie kind—and angels are just traitors! His mission to help his people is what’s important, not getting tangled up in love triangles.

Only Connor believes in their chances for happiness. This angel knows love is worth fighting for, whatever form it takes.

Book 4 in the Djinn Series

My review:

m/m/f
The City of Endless Night is the fourth in the Tales of the Djinn series. In this sexy sweet adventure we get to see what the Sultan Iksander has to do to get home and whom he falls for along the way. This is a story of love and tolerance. I enjoy the opulence of the Djinn world and the reactions of Connor and Georgie to the same. If a hot adventure is what you are looking for then I recommend The City of Endless Night.
