My review:
If these six
stories don’t move you there is no hope. Elite Ghosts is the follow up
to Elite Metal but can be read standalone (bet you will find yourself
going back to read Elite Metal if you haven’t yet). These stories tell
the tale of some incredibly brave men and women found in a situation not of
their own making and finding the strength to go on and do what is necessary.
They aren’t always quiet or pleasant. There is grumping and griping, bitching
moaning and groaning but there is also the shock and awe of finding love and a
new future.
Target: Tungsten by Heather Long – This is a follow up story to Pure
Copper by Heather Long from Elite Metal but you don’t have to have read it to get
this story but it does contain spoilers if you haven’t. Copper thought
she has lost everything when she lost Bradley “Tungsten” Peck and only her determination and her best
friend Dr. John “Mercury” Thrace and finding love in the
unlikely form of former CIA
analyst Gabriel “Brass” Danvers. Now Brad is back from the dead and
wants her back. Can she forgive him his deception? What about the new happiness
she has found with Gabriel? Can these two strong yet very different men do what
is best for this strong yet delicate woman?
Zinc's Heart by Rebecca Royce – Zinc is bitter. He lost
everything when Operation Phoenix went south. He and Tungsten were wrongfully
picked up by the ghosts and forced to play dead for 3 long years. He can’t
believe his best friend and brother from another mother, Adam Steele, left him
on the field. Now he has to go save Adam’s little sister Sarah who isn’t so
little anymore and may be the cure for the breach between Zinc and Steele.
Lithium’s Rescue by Sabrina York – A case where the attraction
is instant, explosive and potentially deadly or lifesaving. Michelle has
information the Ghosts need and Ben “Lithium” Butler has to keep her alive long
enough to get the information into the right hands and if his hands wander
along the way…
Thallium's Submission by Anna Alexander – A sweet
and sexy tale of an older woman and a man who yearns to serve. All I could do
was sigh.
Nickel’s Wounds by Saranna DeWylde – Another strong yet damaged
woman and the man who can heal her. This story had me in tears and laughter.
Titanium’s Sacrifice by Jennifer Kacey – This story had to be tough
to write. Titanium has given everything to keep these men and women alive and
with purpose. He has lost his sight and his legs. They don’t trust him fully
and with reason. The only being he totally trusts is Annie his seeing eye dog
and the only other being that can get to him is his nurse who he feels deserves
better than him. He feels he isn’t whole. They have been hiding their love for
each other from each other for a long time but now it has come out and they
have to choose what to do with it. How many sacrifices to the cause will Titanium
have to make. I will admit to tears in this story as well. This story hints at
a future for this series and reveals one of the moles and left me screaming at
the end.
I cannot express how much I enjoyed this collection. Each
story different yet all a treat for the heart.
