Blurb:
Big city K-9 cop Ronan McGuire loves women, loves his dog,
loves his job - but when old flame Maddy Morgan moves into his jurisdiction, he
can’t think about anyone else.
Ronan knows she’s way out of his league, but he’s determined
to help Maddy live life to the fullest.
Maddy has immersed herself in work and swiftly made a name
for herself in the hot New York City real estate market. She’s looking for
safety, not love, but Ronan McGuire is as persistent as he is sexy, and his
crooked smile is hard to resist. But all other concerns are wiped away when
Maddy goes missing and Ronan and his bloodhound K-9 partner are tasked with
finding her and bringing her home.
My review:
Trouble Walks In is a fun contemporary romance with a bit of
suspense thrown in. Although it’s the second in the series it can be read stand
alone. I loved that the characters weren’t
twenty somethings but a bit older. K-9 cop Ronan McGuire and Real Estate agent Maddy
Morgan both come from the same small town and have ended up in New York. She is
escaping the death of her lover of 10 years. It’s been a year and a half and
Maddie has buried herself in her work and she is damn good at it. Her best
friend has asked Ronan to look after her which he doesn’t find a chore. He
wants her but has to respect her grieving process. Now there is someone killing
real estate agents and Maddy could be at risk. Can Ronan breakthrough Maddies self-imposed
shell in time? This was a sweet escape.
