Rock Courtship (Rock Kiss #1.5) by Nalini Singh

Blurb:

What happens when the Gentleman of Rock decides to play dirty?

A drummer for the hottest rock band on the planet, David has a single, powerful weakness: Thea, the band's publicist and the woman who steals his breath away with her every move.

Only problem is, Thea doesn't date clients--or musicians. Emotionally scarred by a cheating ex, she's not about to risk her heart with a man who has groupies buzzing around him like flies. Even if his sexy smile ties her up in knots.

What she doesn't know is that David is a one-woman man...and he's madly in love with her. David's determined to prove he's worth the risk, and willing to court her, step by exquisite step. Thea's about to discover just how long and hard this handsome drummer can play.

My review:
I liked this even better than Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) and I loved it.  Mostly I liked this because I fell for the “Gentleman of Rock” David in the first book.  I have a thing for bad boys in Armani.  Thea is a tough nut but David’s heart wants what it wants and what it wants is Thea.  Oh what I wouldn’t give to have been on the receiving end of his seduction.  Hang on girls this book will steal your heart.

TROUBLE WITH A COWBOY by Sandy Sullivan--Can some slashed tires and an ornery bull bring two hard-headed people together for some fun in the sun...and a little more?

My review:

This is a super fantastic box set for a great cause.  There are 16 stories in this set and I devoured them all.  These are not short little 3 chapter stories they are full tales with a beginning, middle and end.

A LITTLE HARMLESS SEX by Melissa Schroeder – This is the first in the fabulous A Little Harmless series and the tamest one of the bunch but still a fun read.

CHANGE THE GAME by Lucy Monroe – This is a short fun romantic suspense from the wonderful Lucy Monroe.

WILD RIDE (Changing Gears, Book 1) by Nancy Warren – Nancy Warren is a new to me author but not for long.  I will be looking for her work now.  The characters in this one will keep you smiling and there is a really good mystery too.

HEARTBREAK ON A STICK by Sabrina York – I got a kick out of watching Gina grow and Mr. Fox is sex on a stick.

MADRONA SUNSET by Jami Davenport – Break out the tissues this one will tear you apart.
BRACE FOR IMPACT by Allie K. Adams – Action adventure and some really scary moments.

HONORABLE SACRIFICE by Destiny Blaine – This one reads like the start of a new series and like any Destiny Blaine story this one is sizzling hot.

SHE'S WORTH IT ALL by Cathryn Cade – This was a pleasant surprise.  I’ve read the first three books in the Club 3 series and hadn’t expected any new additions.  I hope this story is the beginning of a new arc.  Mase is a cop who goes to Club 3 (a fet club) which allows him to indulge in a safe and legal environment.  Natalie was screwed over by her ex but now he is dead and she is trying to reclaim her life.  But trying to re-open her bar with the locals against her may need police intervention.  This is a sweet sexy addition to an already terrific series.

DECEIVING DANTE by Kate Davies – This is a fun one.  This cop is hot for teacher.

ROCK, RATTLE AND ROLL by Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott – What is more heroic than helping out a loved one in the middle of a crisis?  This story takes place after Rocked (Lost in Oblivion #1) but does just fine as a standalone.

GRAVE DANGER by Rachel Grant – Great mystery with a bit of romance.  Although there were times I really wanted to Gibbs slap the hero Mark Colby.

TURNING THIRTY-TWELVE by Sandy James – This was one of my favorites as the hero (cop) and heroine (teacher) are both in their 40’s. Proving that love is lovelier the second time around.

HIS ONLY DESIRE by Adrianne Lee – Another great mystery with a hot cop and sexy smart Deputy District Attorney.

EVEN HEROES CRY by Hildie McQueen – A woman starting over after losing her husband to war and her new neighbor who suffers from PTSD.  Maybe they can heal each other.  Warning keep the tissues handy.

THE VIXEN & THE VET by Katy Regnery – Another favorite in this set and by a new to me author.  Veteran hero Asher Lee has been hiding out at home hiding the wounds he received .  Savannah his home licking her wounds after losing her job on a NY newspaper.  Maybe they can help each other out and start anew.

TROUBLE WITH A COWBOY by Sandy Sullivan – Sometimes being a hero is helping another out and allowing them to be themselves.

Sorority Wolf (ROAR) by Rebecca Royce

Blurb:
Kieran is a demon with a big problem. The person whose body he has stolen won’t give up and fights him on every front. Not to mention he has to figure out how to blackmail the president of a werewolf sorority to appease his demon father. He has no time for lost werewolf Alexandra. But he can’t stop thinking about her.

Alexandra is a werewolf who needs a pack. She comes to college determined to get one. But when her plans fall apart, she turns to Kieran for help—unaware of his true nature or exactly what he wants from her.

The two will play a dangerous game…and with so much at stake, can they see the love right in front of their eyes?

My review:
Sorority Wolf is a quick, fun read.  I got a kick out of Kieran and how he handled his dilemma.  I wasn’t as crazy about Alex but I think it may have been because in this short tale she had to grow too fast.  Even so, I enjoyed the book.

Dark Blood (Dark #26) by Christine Feehan

Blurb:
At long last you are truly back with us…

Zev Hunter was an elite warrior, a dark-blood dealer of death to rogue Lycans who preyed on mankind. He was a loner, never given to personal attachments, and damned fierce at his job. But Zev begins to question his past and his purpose when he awakens in the darkness of the sacred cave of warriors—and is soothed back to consciousness by the sensuously familiar voice of one woman, the woman who has haunted his fantasies for centuries. She was Branislava, member of the Dragonseeker clan…

Mother Earth called the ancients to witness your rebirth…

For this half-mage, half-Carpathian temptress, the ritual of awakening Zev to the council of warriors was the only way to save him. Locked away for his own protection, the time has now come for his rebirth, for his blood to stir with that of the ancient warriors before him. He has been assured by Branislava that their fates are entwined, that their spirits are woven together for eternity and that his new purpose in life is beyond imagining.

Now, with a blood-sworn vow of honor, mercy and endurance, and under the influence of a siren as bewitching as Branislava, Zev begins to wonder what his purpose is, what it means for the future of the Carpathians and what it is about his rebirth that he has to fear…

My review:
This book takes place shortly after the events at the end of Dark Wolf (Dark #25) when Zev Hunter was mortally wounded fighting against rogue Lycans.  He was saved only because Branislava joined her life force to his and kept him from death.  They have been in the healing earth but it seems his services are needed by Carpathians and the Lycans to find a traitor in their ranks.  Zev has to deal with almost dying, his feelings for Branka and figuring out how to use both his Lycan and Carpathian gifts to keep everything he holds dear safe.

Christine Feehan does action, adventure and romance like nobody else.  Dark Blood is a prime example of this.  This book is a non-stop roller coaster that will have you flipping pages with alacrity. If I have one complaint it is that we didn’t get to see more of Gary.  There is a lot of the Carpathian language in this story but it is all translated as it happens you don’t have to go to the index to see what they were saying.

Wolf Claim (Wolves of Willow Bend #3) by Heather Long

Blurb:
Gillian Whitford, darling of Willow Bend, brings out the protective instincts in all the dominants, but none more so than Owen Chase, the pack’s Hunter. A loner by nature and calling, Owen spends less time with his pack mates and more time on the borders of their land. Not even the change in the Alpha and the swearing of a new oath kept him around long.

Winds of change still drift through Willow Bend as they adjust to their new Alpha. When the Hudson River pack requests a fill in healer to replace their own, Gillian, journeymen apprentice to their Pack healer, is the obvious choice to help. Owen forbids her to accept, but the sweet natured wolf rebukes his selfishness and volunteers anyway.

Risking a challenge, Owen faces off against his Alpha to appeal her decision and finds himself charged with her safety. Now, the loner will be escorting one of his pack’s most precious into foreign lands. He’s all that stands between her and a dozen potential threats…and if he doesn’t stake his claim, he may lose more than his heart.

My review:
I really get a kick out of this series.  Heather Long has done a fantastic job of bringing to life the world of the Wolves of Willow Bend.  In this installment stoic, rough, tough hunter Owen Chase is felled by one of the gentlest wolves in the pack journeyman apprentice healer Gillian Whitford.  What Owen is about to find out is that just because you may be small in stature and a submissive wolf doesn’t mean that you are weak.  Gillian has crushed on Owen forever and has even thrown herself at him only to be rebuffed.  Owen thinks he isn’t good enough for her but doesn’t think anyone else is either.  It takes an emergency in a neighboring pack to throw them together long enough for Owen to quit being a bonehead and to realize that he may not be perfect but he is perfect for her.
This is a fantastic, colorful, fast paced, mystery with a bit of romance thrown in.  Even if werewolves aren’t your thing give this a try you may be surprised.

A Little Harmless Secret (Harmless #10) by Melissa Schroeder

Blurb:

Just because you love someone doesn't mean you can trust them.

Devon Stryker is a man with no past—not one anyone can dig up that is. His made up identity has kept him safe from everyone, except one woman. Five years earlier he let his guard down once, one night of unforgettable passion. He has yet to get her out of his mind. When he thinks he sees her in Seattle, he becomes obsessed with finding her.

Alicia Hughes hasn’t forgotten Devon either. She had been on assignment from MI-6 to find him. Since he disappeared, her life has fallen apart. When she comes face to face with the one man she loved—and the one she fears the most—she panics. When he catches up to her, he finds the woman he has always loved—and the child they made together.

As the old lovers form a tentative alliance, the feelings they both had for each other rise to the surface. They have to let those things go to protect everything they hold dear in the world because someone is intent on destroying them…by any means possible.

WARNING: This title includes secrets, guns, a sexy know-it-all hero, spies, a heroine who doesn't trust the hero, meddling inlaws, even more spies, double crosses, cool computer things, and two people who can't seem to keep their hands off each other even though they know it isn't the right thing to do. Remember, it's a Harmless book, so have ice water and towels nearby.

My review:
Devon lost his heart to Ali four years ago and then he lost her.  That story is told in the short Prelude to a Secret. Now four years later Devon discovers just how much he lost when he left her alone in that hotel room with just a note.  Life hasn’t been especially kind to Ali in the years since but she is strong and has had the best reason in the world to stay that way.  Now that Devon has found her again they are busy trying to keep her alive and if they are successful he isn’t walking away again.
Devon has been a secondary character in several of the A Little Harmless… books.  We know he is Dee’s twin, super smart, rich, sexy as sin and a former employee of the CIA.  Ali is a former member of MI6 and more than a match for Devon.  I have always liked Devon but I really got a kick out of Ali.  This story doesn’t enter the doors of Rough and Ready but we get to touch base with a couple of old friends from there.  This is a super quick, smoking hot, fast paced, action packed addition to the A Little Harmless… family.  It can be read stand-alone but is better read with at least Prelude to a Secret.

Shadows Till Sunrise (A Lilly Meratoliage Urban Fantasy Romance) by Chris Marie Green

Blurb:
Chris Marie Green brings you an urban fantasy romance that’s full of paranormal thrills, action, and star-crossed love! Two monster hunters fight their sizzling attraction while one bloodthirsty phantom leaves a trail of death in New Orleans… Can love survive till the sun rises?

*This novel is approximately 51,000 words, and a brief excerpt is added at the end.*

A Bad Girl Trying To Do Good

Lilly Meratoliage used to be a villain—a ruthless guard for a power-hungry family who worshipped monsters. Burned in a fire as punishment after a failed mission, she was left scarred and desolate. Now, healed by a bayou witch who has given Lilly a pair of white magic boots, Lilly is ready for redemption, charged with tracking down a phantom who has already killed twice and is aiming to add to his list. It’s just too bad those charmed boots must feed off Lilly, robbing her of her short-term memory every night in order to keep them both strong. And it’s too bad that she’ll need to work side-by-side with a man who has already betrayed her…

A Tormented Hero Who Can’t Let Go of the Past

Psychic Philippe Angier is haunted by visions of these paranormal killings that have darkened his hometown of New Orleans, and he wants to catch up with this murderer who seems as if he’s stepped out of the past to challenge his victims to bloody duels. But to catch a phantom, Philippe needs Lilly’s stealth and fighting skills. What he doesn’t need is the attraction he still feels for her, even though he once deceived her during a previous adventure.

But charming Philippe is winning Lilly over hour by ticking hour, even if those boots are going to erase her memory again at sunrise, turning him into just another stranger...

Will the magic and the phantom beat them before the sun comes up or will star-crossed love win out?

My review:
Lilly has a problem.  She wakes every morning with no memory of who she is.  This is actually a good thing for the reader as we find out together why this is and what mysteries lie in her past.  There is action, adventure, danger, magic, mystery, and a bit of romance.  And while this is a spin-off of the fantastic Vampire Babylon series this novel stands well on its own.  I look forward to following Lilly as she learns and grows.  If this series is anything like Vampire Babylon we are in for a heck of a ride.

Ink Inspired (Montgomery Ink 0.5) by Carrie Ann Ryan (audio book)

Blurb:
Shepard Montgomery loves the feel of a needle in his hands, the ink that he lays on another, and the thrill he gets when his art is finished, appreciated, and loved. At least that's the way it used to be. Now he's struggling to figure out why he's a tattoo artist at all as he wades through the college frat boys and tourists who just want a thrill, not a permanent reminder of their trip. Once he sees the Ice Princess walk through Midnight Ink's doors though, he knows he might just have found the inspiration he needs.

Shea Little has spent her life listening to her family's desires. She went to the best schools, participated in the most proper of social events, and almost married the man her family wanted for her. When she ran from that and found a job she actually likes, she thought she'd rebelled enough. Now though, she wants one more thing--only Shepard stands in the way. She'll not only have to let him learn more about her in order to get inked, but find out what it means to be truly free. This is the prequel to the Montgomery Ink series.

Narrated by Gregory Salinas

My review:
Carrie Ann Ryan writes steamy romance.  I’ve read a number of her books and enjoyed each and every one.  I won an audio copy of Ink Inspired the prequel to the Montgomery Ink series and listened to it while on a plane headed to vacation.  It is one thing to read a smoking hot love scene it is another to have a smooth sexy male voice describing every detail in your ears. I haven’t blushed so hard in a long time.  I don’t know what my fellow travelers thought but I had a great time listening to Shep and Shea get together.

Snow Falling on Bluegrass (Bluegrass #3) by Molly Harper

Blurb:

Parks & Recreation meets The Blue Collar Comedy Tour in this third ebook in Molly Harper’s Bluegrass series of contemporary romances: A love triangle of colleagues heats up the winter lodge where they get snowed in for a week.

Kentucky Tourism Commission employee and executive assistant extraordinaire Kelsey is known around the office for having everything under control. So it’s not surprising that she and her boss, Sadie, have everything planned to the second for the office winter retreat. But there are things even Kelsey can’t micromanage.

An unprecedented snowstorm smothers half of Kentucky and knocks out the power, closes the roads, and generally shuts down the state. Luckily, the lodge has working fireplaces and enough food to keep the staff from turning on each other like something out of The Shining. Kelsey wouldn’t mind being stuck inside if it wasn’t for the tension with her not-so-secret crush, Charlie, the office’s statistician. But handsome Ranger Luke, the lodge’s only employee on hand, is there to take Kelsey’s mind off her discomfort.

Even though this weekend is supposed to be a planning session for KTC, Kelsey can’t help her mind from wandering and finds herself conflicted over Luke and Charlie. Someone’s love will keep her warm, but whose will it be?

My review:
Molly Harper is one seriously funny author.  I laughed loud enough to disturb the neighbors.  This third installment in the Bluegrass series can be read stand alone.
The gang is headed for some team building and strategy sessions off site.  When a snowstorm hits and strands them in a lodge in the middle of nowhere with no power they have to come together to survive.  Snowed in with crazy co-workers and a hunky Park Ranger it could be worse.  Then there is the aggressive opossum and the bosses bitch administrative assistant so maybe it is that bad, but then you can always hide out in a pillow fort.
I cannot express how much I LOVED this book.  My advice, grab a box of tissues because you will be laughing so hard tears will fall.  It isn't pretty.  Avoid all liquids and wait till after to eat a cupcake.

Officer out of Uniform (Lock and Key #2) by Ranae Rose

Blurb:
The only thing better than a man in uniform is a man out of uniform. Sasha has never been more certain of anything in her life, and she’s never wanted anyone more than she wants Officer Henry Dryden. Tall, tough and battle-scarred, he’s the first man to capture not just her eye, but her heart. With curves and the confidence to use them, it’s not hard to attract his attention, or get him to break out those cuffs and keys. But for the first time, getting exactly what she wants feels dangerously like risking it all.

There’s no question about the one thing Henry wants most when it comes to Sasha: to protect her. After their coastal North Carolina community is sent a message via the brutal murder of the prison warden, no one is safe. Henry can’t afford to be distracted by things like the all-consuming desire Sasha inspires. There’ll be time for that later … if he can keep her from getting caught in the crossfire of a killer’s revenge scheme. Haunted by the ghosts of his past, he’ll do anything to avoid being the only one to walk out of a war zone alive again. The way forward is clear: stop the convict who’s hunting officers in Riley County, and keep Sasha safe … or die trying.

Book 2 in the Lock and Key Series.

My review:
In Officer Next Door (Lock and Key #1) we met three men (Liam, Henry and Grey) and 3 women (Alicia, Sasha and Kerry) destined to be theirs. Officer Next Door (Lock and Key #1) is Liam and Alicia’s story.   Officer out of Uniform (Lock and Key #2) is Sasha and Henry’s tale.  At first glance bright, flirty, outgoing Sasha seems to be quiet, dour, former Marine Henrys opposite.  Despite that the attraction between the two is palpable.  After the events that take place in the first book Sasha and Henry find themselves exploring their mutual attraction.  But like a bad penny the past comes to haunt them in several different ways and they find that they aren’t so different after all.
Corrections Officer Henry Dryden was my favorite character in the first book as he reminded me of my own dear husband.  After reading this I like him even more.  Henry and Sasha are super together.  Officer out of Uniform has it all; action, intrigue, romance and really hot sex and yes there may be handcuffs involved.

My review:

Are you ready for A Little Harmless Secret?  To tide you over till it gets here Melissa Schroeder reminds us of how Devon and Alicia met.  We met Devon in A Little Harmless Lie as Dee’s sexy, rich, super smart brother with the mysterious past.  A Little Harmless Secret will tell his story.  But before we get to that this short intro will give you a look into the sparks that got ignited when Devon and Alicia get together for the first time before circumstances broke them apart.  This is a very short story just enough to tempt the palate.

Blurb:
Men of Calder County
Untamed. Unleashed. Unforgettable.

13 titillating tales of love as hot as a Texas summer. Novellas about love and lust, loss and discovery with adventure, action, danger and heart-touching romance that are unforgettable.

Mac by Regina Carlysle. When tragedy strikes Callie's small family, Mac Bonner proves that heroes can be found in a girl's own backyard.

Rand by Ann Jacobs. The fire of some love can't be extinguished. The only thing that can stand against it are dangers from the past with the power to take everything - even your life.

Brody by Samantha Cayto. She wanted to make a fresh start, not a new man. The life stepped in and offered more than she ever dreamed.

Zeb by Ciana Stone. There was nothing in Calder County for him. Or so he thought. Until she kissed him. Now if he can keep them both alive there just might be something worth staying for.

David by Lynn LaFleur. David and Kris begin to fall in love while filming their movie. But a killer lurks in the background who is determined to destroy their happiness.

Wade by Kristin Daniels. Save the girl, make her yours and nail the bad guys? Hell yes. Corral your wayward libido while doing that? Uh, Wade’s working on that one. He might’ve let Cassidy go once, but not this time. He’s a cowboy on a mission, ready take down anyone who gets in his way.

Rayne by Lacey Thorn. Rayne breeds horses on the Texas horse ranch he calls home. Darcy prefers to travel and explore the exotic as far from Texas as she can go.
When these two opposites collide, will they discover some common ground or will their differences drive them apart?

Valentine by Heather Long. He hates Sage Creek, its gossipy old ladies, tired old ranchers, and men who were supposed to be his friends. What he doesn't hate is the girl whose heart he broke.Problem is whether he'll be able to win her again.

Falcon by Ruth D. Kerce. Sheriff Falcon Savage returns to Calder County to find trouble stalking a woman he loved and left behind. Except his love for her never really died and ultimately it saves them both.

Jack by Tilly Greene
Jack Murphy knows he’d made a mistake years ago when he pushed aside the cute brunette, now he wants a second chance.

Flint by Fran Lee...Flint is as hard as his namesake, until one tiny spitfire with a black eye worms her way under that shell...

Mason by Gayle Donnelly. Local cop, Mason, has big trouble. Not only must he solve a case of vandalism, but he needs to convince his meddling mom that he doesn't need to be married off. But when an old love comes back to town, he might have to re-think that.

Chase by Robyn Mackenzie. Chase Collier's greatest fantasy from the past has finally returned after ten long years and this time, he has no intention of letting her slip away. But is their incendiary connection enough to finally lay to rest past hurts in order for them to follow their hearts?

My review:
I love box sets.  They are an inexpensive way to get to know new “to me” authors.  Men of Calder County is a set of 13 stories un-connected except they all take place in Calder County, Texas.  Mason is mentioned in Chase but other than that there is really no interaction between tales.
Calder County knows how to breed em.  Hot, honorable and downright sexy alpha men who know how to get what they want.  Because of the length of these stories there are a lot of second chance romance and instant chemistry stories.  I think my favorite had to be Valentine by Heather Long.  You have to love a story dedicated “For every woman who’s waited for her guy to stop being a bonehead.” Falcon is a “white knight” in a Stetson. David is a cowboy movie star who is out to get his leading lady.  Jack may be the hottest guy in Texas but payback can be bliss.  Just ask Falcon about Dizzy Izzy.  There isn’t a bad story in the bunch.

Festive in Death (In Death #39) by J.D. Robb

Blurb:
Eve Dallas deals with a homicide—and the holiday season—in the latest from the #1 New York Times bestselling author.

Personal trainer Trey Ziegler was in peak physical condition. If you didn’t count the kitchen knife in his well-toned chest.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas soon discovers a lineup of women who’d been loved and left by the narcissistic gym rat. While Dallas sorts through the list of Ziegler’s enemies, she’s also dealing with her Christmas shopping list—plus the guest list for her and her billionaire husband’s upcoming holiday bash.

Feeling less than festive, Dallas tries to put aside her distaste for the victim and solve the mystery of his death. There are just a few investigating days left before Christmas, and as New Year’s 2061 approaches, this homicide cop is resolved to stop a cold-blooded killer.

My review:

I LOVE this series.  It never gets old.  Eve may be worried that love has mellowed her but the holidays are guaranteed to bring out the cynic that we know and love.  I love that Eve and Roarke are still slap silly in love with each other even as the real world intrudes on their bliss.  Eve and the gang deal with the murder of a disgusting human being and still they fight for him with all the energy and commitment they would give any of their cases. Another case that will keep you guessing and turning page after page.

This one is for the fans.  If you aren’t familiar with Mercy Thompson go right to your favorite book outlet and purchase Moon Called (Mercy Thompson, #1).  I absolutely adore Mercy and the characters from her world.   Shifting Shadows contains several stories that have been out before printed in various anthologies and four new stories.  I always appreciate the opportunity to have all the shorts in one place.  And hanging out with Mercy and the folks from her world is always a good read.

Dark Skye (Immortals After Dark #14) by Kresley Cole

Blurb:
In this highly anticipated fifteenth novel in the Immortals After Darkseries, #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole spins a sultry tale of a mighty warrior scarred inside and out and the beguiling sorceress with the power to heal him—or vanquish him forever.

ETERNAL OBSESSION

As a boy, Thronos, prince of Skye Hall, loved Lanthe, a mischievous Sorceri girl who made him question everything about his Vrekener clan. But when the two got caught in the middle of their families’ war, tragedy struck, leaving Thronos and Lanthe bitter enemies. Though centuries have passed, nothing can cool his seething need for the beautiful enchantress who scarred his body—and left an even deeper impression on his soul.

ENDLESS YEARNING

Lanthe, a once-formidable sorceress struggling to reclaim her gifts, searches for love and acceptance with all the wrong immortal suitors. But she’s never forgotten Thronos, the magnificent silver-eyed boy who protected her until she was ripped from the shelter of his arms. One harrowing night changed everything between them. Now he’s a notorious warlord with a blood vendetta against Lanthe, hunting her relentlessly.

CAN THE HEAT OF DESIRE BURN BRIGHTER THAN VENGEANCE?

With their families locked in conflict and battles raging all around them, will Thronos and Lanthe succumb to the brutal chaos that threatens everything they cherish? Or will the fragile bond they formed so long ago spark a passion strong enough to withstand even the darkest doubts?

My review:
Well worth the wait.  You would think that after 14 or 15 novels in a series it might get old but I am here to tell you that this series just keeps getting better and better.
This is a love conquers all story.  Thronos recognizes Lanthe as his mate when they are both children.  Even though their families are each on opposite sides of a war they become secret best friends until the fateful day when his parents kill hers and her sister kills his father.  Feeling betrayed Lanthe uses her sorcery to cause grievous lifelong harm to Thanos.  He has been searching for her ever since.  He isn’t sure if it is for vengeance or to claim her.
Lanthe has been on the run for 500 years but it appears her time has run out when she escapes one prison only to be capture by the boy now full grown who broke her heart.  They are forced to run and fight together.  Can they get past their differences to survive?  Can time heal a broken heart?
Kresley Cole never fails to enthrall us and bring us fully into the fantasy world of her Immortals After Dark.

Dare to Submit (Dare to Love #4) by Carly Phillips

Blurb:
Decklan Dare knows about the unexpected loss of loved ones and for this reason, he values control in all areas of his life. Amanda Collins enjoys the freedom she finds in casual encounters without the emotional connection a relationship brings. They meet and their physical attraction is mutual but both experience feelings that could run deeper – if they drop their guard and let each other in. Decklan is first to trust, but when he discovers the secret Amanda’s been hiding, will he forgive? Or will he rebuild every wall before she has a chance to explain?

My review:
Dare to Submit is a sizzling hot contemporary erotic romance by Carly Phillips.  Though it is part of a series of loosely connected books it can be read stand alone.

Decklan Dare is an alpha cop but not über alpha.  He has abandonment issues that he deals with by being in control whenever and wherever he can that is until Amanda Collins gets under his guard. Amada has issues too and has managed to keep her heart fairly safe until she meets Decklan.  Can they take a chance and let the other in?  While they are figuring it out they can and do enjoy each other in the bedroom.

This is a super quick read.  I read it in one sitting and stopped only to turn on the fan.

Taking Control (Kerr Chronicles #2) by Jen Frederick Review & Giveaway

Blurb:
I thought I needed only one thing in my life--the money and power to crush one man. But the moment I laid eyes on Victoria Corielli, my thirst for revenge was replaced by my craving for her.

No rule would keep me away; no obstacle too large to overcome. Not her will, not our differing social positions, not my infamous past. When she lost everything, I helped her pick up the pieces. When she trusted me with everything, she sealed her fate.

I've convinced Victoria she can put her heart in my hands. Now I have to protect it--from her shady stepfather and my business rivals, from enemies known and hidden. I'll do anything to keep her. And I might have to prove it, because now Victoria''s risking more than her heart to be with me; she's risking her life.

My review:
Read the first book Losing Control (Kerr Chronicles #1) before you read this.
Taking Control takes up where Losing Control left off.  Former bike messenger Victoria Corielli aka Tiny has moved in with billionaire businessman Ian Kerr.  They are desperately in love and lust.  They can hardly keep their hands of each other leading to a whole lot of sex throughout the book.  Tiny still has self-esteem issues caused by her dyslexia and Ian’s wealth.  But Ian is for the most part patient and proves to her in every way he can that he loves her.  The specter of their pasts keeps them from the bliss they deserve but you can’t keep a strong billionaire down what money can’t fix love can.
Taking Control is an erotic romance that will have you laughing, crying and rooting for the home team.  The author makes sure that you want to see these two succeed.

Rock Addiction (Rock Kiss #1) by Nalini Singh

Blurb:

A bad boy wrapped in a sexy, muscled, grown-up package might be worth a little risk…

Molly Webster has always followed the rules. After an ugly scandal tore apart her childhood and made her the focus of the media’s harsh spotlight, she vowed to live an ordinary life. No fame. No impropriety. No pain. Then she meets Zachary Fox, a tattooed bad boy rocker with a voice like whiskey and sin, and a touch that could become an addiction.

A one-night stand with the hottest rock star on the planet, that’s all it was meant to be…

Fox promises scorching heat and dangerous pleasure, coaxing Molly to extend their one-night stand into a one-month fling. After that, he’ll be gone forever, his life never again intersecting with her own. Sex and sin and sensual indulgence, all with an expiration date. No ties, no regrets. Too late, Molly realizes it isn’t only her body that’s become addicted to Fox, but her heart…

My review:
Nalini Singh is one of my auto-buy authors.  I’ve never read anything of hers that wasn’t well crafted.  Rock Addiction is very different than Ms. Singh’s paranormal works.  This is a hard rocking, hard sexing, rock and roll contemporary romance.  Bad boy rocker Zachary Fox is just as alpha in his own way as any of the other heroes Ms. Singh has written and librarian Molly Webster is smart, sassy, and stronger than she knows.  When these two come together magic happens.  Put aside your expectations and enjoy the ride.
