The Santinis Collection, Volume Two (Santini Bundles, #2) by Melissa Schroeder

The Santinis Collection, Volume Two (Santini Bundles, #2)
by Melissa Schroeder

Book 6
She was the last woman standing.
Madison Baker was born and bred to be a Marine. When a roadside bomb ends her first deployment—not to mention her career—she is left to pick up the pieces of what is left of her life. She’s returned to Oceanside to regroup and move on. It doesn’t mean she’s ready for a relationship, even if a particular Santini has different plans.

Love happens when you least expect it.

When he first met Madison back at the Academy, Dante Santini is sure the woman was put on the earth to irritate him. She’s prickly and mouthy. She always thinks she’s right. Worse—she almost always is. She hasn’t really changed over the years. One disagreement ends up with them lip locked and very nearly falling into bed, Dante discovers he might need to rethink his first impression.

When Madison is convinced she witnesses a murder, the only person who believes her is Dante. Together, they sift through the meager evidence, trying to unearth the secrets someone is trying to hide. Neither one of them expecting it would draw them closer—or that a killer is hell bent on making sure those secrets stay buried.

Book 7
A crush that turned into love.

Being the only girl in a family with five Santini brothers was never easy on Elena Santini. She always tried to be faster and smarter to make sure they always took her seriously. They were always trying to tell her what to do, and worse, who she could date. That’s why falling for her oldest brother’s best friend wasn’t smart especially when he treats her like a sister. That is, until she gets him alone in her apartment one night.

One night in Heaven.

NCIS agent Jethro Thomas, known to everyone as JT, has always played it smart. When his admiration turned to attraction a few years ago, he started avoiding Elena. A guy wasn’t supposed to have those kinds of thoughts about his best friend’s little sister. After returning from an undercover assignment, and about to go on another one, he can’t seem to resist the temptation. One night with her and he knows he’s lost, but he has a job to do.

A changed man.

JT returns from the assignment with a few more scars, both physical and emotional–but he survived for one reason. He’s ready to start a new life with Elena, but a dark cloud hangs over the new love. When small incidents evolve into near death accidents, JT realizes someone from his past is ready to destroy his happiness, even harm Elena to make him pay.

He was searching for something that was missing from his life.

Brando Santini is headed to New Orleans to blow off some steam with a few of his buddies. The respite from his life as a Marine doesn’t really seem to do the trick until he runs into his college crush, Kaitlin Fitzpatrick. After a little dancing and a few drinks, they end up in bed together and Brando knows she’s the one for him.

One night will never be enough.

Kaitlin never forgot Brando. She never would have thought the sexy nerd would have remembered her. More than that, she definitely didn’t expect he would be interested in seducing her. Their time in New Orleans is intense but much too short. The memories of his lovemaking leave her counting the days until she sees him again.

A complication neither of them expected.

By the time Brando arrives in Maryland, Kaitlin suspects that their one night together has left them with more than memories. When Brando insists on marriage, she refuses on the grounds he doesn’t love her. But what Kaitlin doesn’t understand is that when a Santini wants to prove his love, nothing will stand in his way—not her five brothers, his own annoying family, or even the woman he adores.

My review:

I’ll admit I’ve read all three books in this collection before. What I didn’t expect was to love re-reading them as much as I did. Though they are part of a series each book can be read stand alone. It is terrific that these three stories are now in one book so I can find a re-read them again and again.

A SANTINI IN LOVE - Madison Baker is an amazing woman. She has been through hell and is working her way through the other side. Former Marine Madison is dealing with major life changes. She survived a roadside bomb and is dealing with the repercussions and PTSD. It isn’t bad enough that the bomb took away the career she worked for all her life but now it is threatening to take her dignity too. When she witnesses a murder the PTSD label has the cops doubting her; isn’t it funny that the only one who seems to believe her is her college nemesis Marine Captain Dante Santini. When Dante runs into Madison he can’t believe how much his feelings have changed. The strong woman who was a pain in his ass is still beautiful but her experience has added a layer to her that he needs to explore. The Santini curse may just have struck again.
This is an incredible story. Not only does it have Melissa Schroeder’s trademark humor and steam but this one made me think about PTSD and how I treat those with the diagnoses.

FALLING FOR A SANTINI  - The Santini’s are a big raucous close knit family most of whom are honored to serve in the US armed forces. Even the only girl, Elena, is a Marine piolet. Elena has crushed on her big brothers best friend JT since she was twelve. She isn’t twelve anymore and JT is quickly finding that out. Once the clothes come off he can never go back. He needs Elena like his next breath even if it means falling out of favor with his best bud and the family that saved him from himself.
This is the 7th in the series (and may just be the hottest yet) but it can be read stand-alone. The author gives you enough background on what has happened previously without it seeming like you are re-reading the other books and so you know the relationships. Falling for a Santini is a wonderfully sweet and sexy read. It starts out hot and as Elena & JT fall deeper for each other it gets hotter. And for comic relief you have her brothers.

ONE NIGHT WITH A SANTINI - Twists, turns and lots of fun. Ms. Schroeder manages to give each Santini a unique and yet familiar story. Brando & Kaitlin are no different.
Brando Santini is like the other Santini men in that when he meets “the one” he knows it and can never go back. Unfortunately his one and only is engaged and he doesn’t poach. So he leaves his love in college untouched and unapproached other than as a friend and joins the Marines.
Now several years later he literally bumps into her in New Orleans and she isn’t wearing a ring. Life has handed him a second chance and he is going to make the most of it. All he has to do is convince Kaitlin of the Santini curse and to give him a chance.
