Breaking the Mating Bond (Wiccan Haus #17) by Dominique Eastwick

Blurb:
What if the Fates got it wrong?

It’s been seven years since the death of three of Janessa Rowan’s cousins at the hands of mercenary assassins. The time has come for the remaining coven to come together and begin healing. But Janessa is in need of more. Her mate is in love with another, and she will do everything in her power to give him the freedom to allow him to be happy.

Coming to an island of witches is not Silvano’s idea of a good time, but, as a Dhampir, he has no choice but to follow his mate if he wants to feed. But what happens when what you thought you wanted starts to lose its shine and what you have seems to be moving out of your grasp. Can Silvano fight old prejudices to save his true love?

Prepare yourselves—the Rowan Coven is assembling. Welcome back to the Wiccan Haus.

My review:
Oh my heart! Janessa Rowan is in love with her bonded mate but he is cursing the fates control over him. Nessa has had enough. She loves him enough to break the bond no matter the cost to herself. She chooses to do it at the Wiccan Haus where she will have family and friends available to help her after. The fates don’t like their will to be thwarted and aren’t going to make this easy on her but Silvano’s happiness is worth it to Nessa.
There are other things going on in this book but Nessa and Silvano’s story is what made me keep turning pages.
