Forever: Doms of Club Eden Prequel (Doms of Club Eden #.5) by L.K. Shaw

Blurb:

There’s no such thing as love at first sight.
Except, there is.

Livvie and I were college kids, just starting our lives, the day we met. Our connection was instantaneous. We had to fight against those who said we were moving too fast. Who said we were too young. That we’d never last. We showed them otherwise.

Our love isn’t perfect. It’s messy and sometimes complicated. Despite all of that, our love is…
Forever.

My review:

I really loved how sweet Livvie and Gareth’s story is. We’ve seen them where they end up but this shows us how they started. Livvie comes from the system and is determined to make something of herself. Gareth comes from a comfortable background but is smitten by the vivacious Livvie. I loved how they grew together over the years. A delightful addition to the series.

Cataclysmic Shift (The Aloysius Tales #3) by Tara Lain

Blurb:
Super cat, Aloysius, may be the most powerful witch’s familiar in the world, but when he takes a blast at the hand of an evil witch he loses it all -- power, memory, and his feline form -- to become the ethereal human beauty, Alain Bellarose. When Alain wakes up naked on the floor surrounded by dogs and cats, his eyes first set upon Luke Elliott, the handsome and mysterious veterinarian. Suddenly, the prospect of being human doesn’t seem so bad.  Luke has a lot to hide and he likes animals way more than people, but he can’t resist the flamboyant boy who washes his face with the side of his hand and tries to lick his own privates! The loss of Aloysius depletes the power of the Witch Master, Killian Barth, and that of his “secret weapon” Sammy and leaves their coven sitting ducks for two very nasty females. When Alain discovers that he’s really a powerful cat, he’s faced with the ultimate choice. To protect his community, or stay with the man he loves.

My review:
Cataclysmic Shift gives us the tale of Aloysius. Aloysius is the familiar of the most powerful male witch in generations. He has bailed our heroes out time and time again. All he has asked for in return is for some salmon and all the adoration he was due. In this story Aloysius is returned to his human form and that causes all kinds of issues. I’ll admit I loved Alain but he wasn’t what I pictured a human Aloysius to act like.  After 500 years as a cat I expected more entitlement and capriciousness rather that the sweet innocence we got. None the less I loved Aloysius and Luke. This was a sweet and lovely story of romance and responsibility.

Hostile Ground (The Arsenal #7) by Cara Carnes

Blurb:

Do whatever it takes to survive…

Addy Rugers survived a treacherous, brutal upbringing after her parents died. Trained for death and seduction and forced to work for her brother’s covert ops organization, she learned to rely only on herself and chameleon her way through every mission. With him dead and his organization dismantled, she now has a new life at The Arsenal—one where she can shed her personas and be herself. Now, she must immerse herself in the nightmarish world she fled and trust the one man with the power to destroy her.

To slay a monster, you must become one…

Kristof Lavrov sank into the criminal underworld two decades ago with one objective—revenge. The sacrifices made are only outnumbered by the atrocities he’s committed under the banner of vengeance. What little of his humanity remains is now under fire when he agrees to help the one woman that he’d sacrifice anything to protect. Their lives have intersected more than once, and he’s always had the strength to walk away.

Until now.

They must work together to save those they love, but the real war is one neither of them is prepared to wage.

My review:

Hostile Ground is a fantastic addition to The Arsenal series. This is Addy’s story. Addy has been a fascinating character and I was thrilled to find out more about this intriguing woman. Addy is tough. She is a tough as any of the guys at the Arsenal and tougher than most. Now we find out how and why. We also find out more about the mysterious Kristof.  Their tale will tear your heart out and still leave you with a smile on your face.  Each book in this series just gets better and better.

The Demon and Her Vampires: A Reverse Harem Vampire Paranormal Romance (The Covenant of New Orleans #3) by Julie Morgan

Blurb:
A world unknown, a destiny discovered, and a blood oath that will change her life forever.

Sadie McKenzie has no experience with love, giving or receiving. She’s never had a family of her own and lives her days alone with a dream to become a published author.

The day of her first ever book signing, she takes a short cut down a dark alley that leads her on an unexpected path, altering her life forever. Sadie is about to discover her life up until now has been a lie, nothing is as it seems, and her new world has creatures she’s only ever read and fantasized about.

In her new life, she’ll never want or need for anything. What does she have to lose?

My review:
Growing up as an unwanted orphan has affected Sadie McKenzie even more than she knew. I like that the author created a multidimensional character in Sadie. She doesn’t just dive in and accept. She has no past and knows nothing of her heritage. Watching her find her way is sweet, sexy and wonderful.

A Triple C Ranch Christmas Wedding (Brotherhood Protectors World) by Debra Parmley

Blurb:

Lucy Woods has dreamed of her perfect wedding since she was a young girl. A designer of jewelry and dresses, she designs her own dress and will marry the man of her dreams in a Christmas wedding at the Triple C Ranch. She worries something will go wrong to ruin the wedding.

Jack Barr will marry the woman he loves in just two days. The rehearsal dinner is tonight. But after the ranch foreman is hospitalized with a stroke, horse thieves have stolen all ten horses from the ranch and he’s the one man close enough to chase them.

With the help of the Brotherhood Protectors and the state police, will they catch the thieves? Will Jack make it to the rehearsal dinner on time? Will Lucy’s fear that something will go wrong and ruin the wedding come true?

My review:

A Christmas wedding! What fun. Lucy and Jack are a sweet clean cut couple and this is the tale of their nuptials amid various trials and tribulations. I like that the author allows Lucy to have her fears about her hero fiancé. This is a fun western/former military love story. This may be part of a series but does well as a standalone.

Draped in Green (Colors of Scandal #2) by Sandra Sookoo

Blurb:
Revenge is never as sweet as the ability to find peace.

The Honorable Olivia Beaumont, eldest daughter of Viscount Hereford, wants revenge. Following an ill-advised game of faro with a powerful duke, her father lost everything and then suffered a fatal heart attack. Now she wants that duke to pay and suffer as much as her father did. But the only way she can do that is to enlist the help of the most shunned man in the ton—the disgraced Duke of Skeffington. It matters not that he's sinfully handsome, for she has a job to do.

Lewis Arthur Sexton is a man beaten down. Stripped of everything following a manufactured scandal against the Regent, he now wishes to drown himself at the bottom of a bottle. But when Miss Beaumont pays him a visit with the insane idea of humiliating the man responsible for her pain and his, he might just return to society to honor the request. If he ignores her bewitching attitude and alluring looks, he'll be fine.

As the scheme is put into play, friendship grows between them. Their fight for revenge is also one for regaining honor in the glittering world of the ton. Yet the moment their relationship transitions into romance, their best-laid plans begin to unravel. When lives are put into jeopardy, they'll have to decide what they truly want, and if fortune is kind, it might prove to be a happily ever after.

My review:
Both the hero and heroine have been done wrong but the same execrable villain. She wants revenge. He’s drowning himself in brandy. When she convinces him to help her get even it gives him something to do besides wallow in self-pity.  These two characters get away with a lot as their names are tarnished anyway. This is a fun and sweet tale of love and revenge. This might be part of a series but reads well as a standalone.

Baby Got Bear (Marked and Mated Book 4) Milly Taiden

Blurb:
Lucy Benton, daughter of the Pack Benton wolf alpha, knows there’s only one man for her. Beau. He’s gentle and strong, and she just can’t seem to stay away from him. Training horses at his ranch was her way to get his attention, but it’s been two years and nothing has happened between them. What is going on?

Beau Sampson can’t live without Lucy. She’s his fated mate and he doesn’t care that she’s a wolf and he’s a bear. All he knows is that he’s not letting her go. But he’s too shy to give her a reason to stay until she throws the saddle on him. And, oh, what a fantastic bucking ride it is.

The problem is her father, the oldest alpha in the region who will do anything for money and power, just made a deal with the devil—a black magic wolf who’s taken Lucy for his bride. He knows he can break the wild filly of her rowdy spirit. Now the race is on. Lucy must fight to stay alive and pray her bear shows up before she’s bonded into a loveless mating with a soulless monster who has no idea what he just signed up for.

My review:
Baby Got Bear is a sweet tale of love between an alpha bear shifter and the daughter of the alpha wolf shifter of the neighboring pack. Lucy’s father is a horrible man who opposes the match despite them being fated mates. Beau might have been a little slow claiming his mate but once he isn’t going to let anything happen to her. I love that he is strong enough to let Lucy do what she needs to even if he disagrees. These two are a fun match and I enjoyed reading their story.

Rosalie's Springtide: Queen Collection (A Sprinkling of Fae Prequel) by Emily James Taylor

Blurb:

Princess Rosalie is determined.

Determined to keep her mother's focus off of her.
Determined to make the last day of the Springtide Celebration the best one yet.
And oh so determined to make the Summer Prince Samuel one of her consorts.
No matter what Gage, Kieran, and Thomas think of him.

This Springtide, join Rosalie and her men as they set in to motion
events that will change the Fae Realm forever.

This is not a Reverse Harem Romance. This is a Tragedy,
That will change the Spring Court's sweet Princess into a cold and calculating Queen.

(This is a prequel set 50 years before the start of the A Sprinkling of Fae Series)

My review:

This story is a tease to set up A Sprinkling of Fae series. Rosalie is a Fae princess in the spring court. Her mother the Queen treats her awfully. Her men are not thrilled with the guy she is planning to add as Consort. The things that take place in this book set up the next.

Blurb:
Welcome to Aconite Café, where dragons, coffee, and snark, are today’s special.

Hailey Morton has just become the sole owner of Aconite Café. Upon her aunt’s death, Hailey also inherited her cat.

Only Azure is no cat. He is actually a dragon, and Hailey has just inherited the position of Dragon Protector alongside the deed to the café.

Will Hailey bring her aunt’s murderer to justice? Can she learn to run Aconite Café? Does she have what it takes to be a Dragon Protector?

A Fresh Brew is the first book in the Hill Country Mysteries series of full-length, snarky, dragon cozy mystery novels.

My review:
A Fresh Brew is a snarkfest that will have you laughing out loud and flipping pages. Our heroine is just a bit overwhelmed with her new responsibilities. We get to go along for the ride as she figures them out along with discovering who killed her beloved aunt Tona. Hailey has a whole slew of supporting characters to help her. I got a kick out of this story and will be checking out future adventures with Hailey and the gang.
