My review:

Sweet isn’t usually the first word that comes to mind when reading m/m romance.  But it is when I think of The Return by Brad Boney.  I also think well written, intelligent, poignant, sometimes gut wrenching with moments of humor that will make you laugh out loud.

I am not usually a fan of two part stories where each part alternates chapters until they come together in the end but Brad Boney blends the two so seamlessly well that I can’t imagine the story any other way. I fell a little bit in love with each of the characters and will admit to tears.   

Although we reconnect with the characters from The Nothingness of Ben this book can be read standalone.  My only complaint with this book is that nowhere was the fabulous Freddy Mercury mentioned.

My review:

Madison Baker is an amazing woman.  She has been through hell and is working her way through the other side.  Former Marine Madison is dealing with major life changes.  She survived a roadside bomb and is dealing with the repercussions and PTSD.  It isn’t bad enough that the bomb took away the career she worked for all her life but now it is threatening to take her dignity too.  When she witnesses a murder the PTSD label has the cops doubting her;  isn’t it funny that the only one who seems to believe her is her college nemesis Marine Captain Dante Santini.  When Dante runs into Madison he can’t believe how much his feelings have changed.  The strong woman who was a pain in his ass is still beautiful but her experience has added a layer to her that he needs to explore.  The Santini curse may just have struck again. 

This is an incredible story.  Not only does it have Melissa Schroeder’s trademark humor and steam but this one made me think about PTSD and how I treat those with the diagnoses.

My review:

I was lucky enough to have won an advanced readers copy from the author.  But before I got a chance to read it my daughter grabbed it and I just now got to read it. 

This is the second in this series but can be read standalone.  Jensen has grown as an entity and as a person.  She is growing stronger as a ghost and has once again been brought into an investigation by Amanda Lee.  For all that this is a ghost story there are some really deep issues addressed to get you thinking.  The secondary characters are truly wonderful.  This is not in your face scary but does have some truly freaky moments.  So lock the doors, brew a cup and delve into this wonderful book.

My review:

Romantic suspense with a paranormal twist.  I believe that you will enjoy this book more if you have read the first in this series Her Perfect Mate (which I absolutely loved).  In this installment Ivy & Landon from the first book are still looking for the evil scientists responsible for creating the Hybrids.  Wolf shifter Clayne is sent out to help the Feds catch a shifter serial killer which brings him in close contact with the woman that broke his heart and broke him for every other woman.  Clayne is all over the place angry, sad, happy, and horny.  Danica isn’t far behind but she is a good agent and she needs Clayne to stop the insane shifter before anyone else gets hurt. 

This is a good second chance romance with some mystery thrown in.  There is a lot going on in the background that I believe is setting up the next book or so in this series.  There is a lot to look forward to and I for one can’t wait.

My review:

The team of Ilona Andrews has done it again!  Burn for Me is a fantastic first in a new series.  Ilona Andrews has once again created a fascinating world filled with magic, interesting characters and lots of action.  This is not a rehash of Kate Daniels although Nevada is something of a mix between Kate and Rose (from the Edge series) in other words a strong principled young woman who takes no crap. I am so stoked about this series and am anxiously awaiting the next installment.

My review:

 Love Me to Death is the first in what looks to be an exciting new Paranormal fantasy romance series. This book starts out with a bang and then takes off. There is the world of humans and then there is the world of the Underveil filled with all kinds of paranormal folk.  I got a real kick out of watching both Nikolai and Elena grow and there are some really fun secondary characters I look forward to getting to know better.  I will admit to not liking Nik very much but as he grew so I grew to care.
