Special Delivery by Tilly Greene

Blurb:
During the week she goes to college and works as a waitress and every Saturday Susan Anders waits for the knock on her door. The excitement gets her heart beating faster as she opens it up and flirts outrageously with her handsome delivery guy. He arrives wearing brown shorts, shirt and socks with sensible shoes, and she is seduced. Even though they’re just words, their time together is the closest thing she has to an actual sex life, but all that changes with one box.

Deliveries are exciting, but how long does the pleasure last?

My review:
A quick fun erotic escape. Ever fantasize about the UPS guy? Susan does and whats more The UPS guy fantasizes about her. See what happens when they finally get together.

I love finding new authors. Mountainside Resort is Roxanne Witherell’s debut novel. I loved the world and the characters. This was a terrific story. It could have been better without the multitude of grammatical errors (note I received an ARC and hopefully these were corrected in the final edition). There are some intense personal moments and I feel they would have popped more if the story was told by one of the characters. This is a great first book. I would love to see more in this world and would encourage the author to invest in a good editor.

Future Shock by Elizabeth Briggs

Blurb:
Elena Martinez has hidden her eidetic memory all her life—or so she thinks. When powerful tech giant Aether Corporation selects her for a top-secret project, she can’t say no. All she has to do is participate in a trip to the future to bring back data, and she’ll be set for life. Elena joins a team of four other teens with special skills, including Adam, a science prodigy with his own reason for being there.

But when the time travelers arrive thirty years in the future, something goes wrong, and they break the only rule they were given: do not look into their own fates. Now they have twenty-four hours to get back to the present and find a way to stop a seemingly inevitable future from unfolding. With time running out and deadly secrets uncovered, Elena must use her eidetic memory, street smarts, and a growing trust in Adam to save her new friends and herself.

My review:
Future Shock by Elizabeth Briggs is a fast paced fun read with a lot of twists and turns. A big corporation takes advantage of desperate gifted young people by sending them on an experimental time travel mission with real consequences. Our heroine is a smart young Latina who will keep you rooting for her even when things look the darkest. I liked each of the kids and a few of the “adults”. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

Prince of the Playhouse (Love in Laguna #3) by Tara Lain

Blurb:
Driven by his desire to become a successful fashion designer and concerned with hiding his questionable past, Ru Maitland lets his obsession with action movie star Gray Anson on the big screen replace his social life. Then obsession and reality collide when Ru is asked to design fashion costumes for a special performance of Hamlet at the Playhouse in Laguna starring none other than Gray Anson. Gray turns out to be a compelling mix of shy and brash and, despite a high profile engagement to a female socialite, the signals Gray sends Ru have his libido doing the salsa.

Gray Anson has what most people only dream of—great wealth, huge fame, a job he loves. For that, he’s given up any semblance of privacy and the right to say no to the thousands of people who depend on him and the millions who love him. He sees everything he’s ever wanted just outside the bubble of his life, but how can he make the compromises needed to embrace it? When Ru’s shady past crashes into Gray’s paparazzi-haunted present, both men have to learn that sometimes the only acceptable compromise is the truth.

My review:
m/m
Prince of the Playhouse is a fantastic addition to the Love in Laguna series. Love and secrets don’t mix.  Gray Anson is a big time action movie star who is so far in the closet he could be paying rent in Narnia. Ru Maitland flamboyant gay designer has secrets of his own. When these two get together the earth moves. These two are made for each other if their secrets don’t kill their relationship before it can begin. I love Ru. He may not be as over the top as Shaz but he is no shrinking violet either. And Gray is a confused stud. He knows he is gay but his job hasn’t made it easy for him to come out of the closet. He really hasn’t had a reason to until he falls into the catlike eyes of our Ru. Watching these two go through trials and tribulations to get to their happily ever after was at times frustrating but oh so worth it in the end. I am looking forward to the next installment in this terrific series.

An Immortal's Song (Dante's Circle, #6) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:
Humans aren’t as alone as they choose to believe. Every human possesses a trait of supernatural that lays dormant within their genetic make-up. Centuries of diluting and breeding have allowed humans to think they are alone and untouched by magic. But what happens when something changes?
Amara Young has always been on the outside looking in. She’s the one lightning-struck woman out of her group who has never felt as if she’s belonged. She lost a year of her life caring for her dying friend, but now it’s her turn to find out who she is. Only when the time comes, two men stand in her way—two men who claim her as theirs.
Tristan Archer, fae royalty and Conclave member, has waited over nine hundred years for his fate. And now he has two chances. While one knows his path, the other seems blind to what they could have. It will take more than a simple risk for Tristan to finally have what he desires…that is if Amara and Seth can overcome their own uncertainties.
While the other two in his life are fighting themselves and their futures, Seth Oceanus knows exactly what he wants. The younger brother of a Conclave member and relatively young in his realm, he knows he’ll have to prove himself so others see him for who he truly is.
As the triad succumbs to their cravings, they will have to fight more than their overwhelming feelings in order to survive.
Warning: Contains an innocent merman, a very talented fae, and a human woman who can outpace them both.

My review:
m/m, m/f/m, m/m/f
Sometimes the strongest come from those that have been broken. Amara has rebuilt herself and is a strong as they come even if she doesn’t know it. She is certainly strong enough to take on the merman and the 900 year old Fae prince that claim to be her true mates. I truly got a kick out of seeing Amara come into her own. For someone who has been through the hell that was her life she has a heart of gold and now two studly guys to share it with. An Immortal's Song  is a fun addition to the Dante’s Circle series.

The best little series nobody knows about - Giveaway

The Undoing (Call of Crows #2) by Shelly Laurenston

Blurb:
No one would ever accuse Jace Berisha of having an easy life—considering her husband…you know…killed her. But that was then! Now she fights for mighty Viking gods with the spectacular and vicious Crows.

But things are turning very bad, very quickly because a vengeful, ancient goddess has come into the world with just one thing on her mind—ending it. And the only way they can hope to stop her is if the Crows join forces with their one-time enemies, the Protectors. A Viking Clan created to do nothing but kill every Crow they see.

Thankfully, Protector Ski Eriksen is a peace loving kind of guy. Because the woman he is desperately trying to get close to is the beautiful and not-very-chatty Jace. Battling Nordic clans? Unkillable goddesses? Jace’s mean-spirited dog? None of these things would ever get in the way of a true Viking!

My review:
I absolutely adored this book! This book has it all. I am gushing. Where to start… I adore Jace and Ski as a couple. I love that he as smart as he is had to work to figure out how to get Jace to notice him. I love that he is adorably geeky and super hot at the same time. Okay the head turning thing squicked me out at first but then I started to think of the possibilities. Jace is a wonderfully complex character and I fell for her right along with Ski. This book made me laugh out loud, curse out loud, sigh out loud and spit tea through my nose during a scene with Brody Hawaii and a certain squirrel. I loved the first book but this book took it up a notch and I cannot say enough about this series. Fans of Kevin Hearn’s Iron Druid series might get a kick out of this. This book will leave you exhausted and wanting more. I really want to know more about Jace’s Grandmother and uncles.
Go buy this book and if you haven’t read The Unleashing (Call of Crows #1) you really ought to.
