The Wrong Witch to Hex With (Moonshadow Cove #1) By Molly Harper

Blurb:

The first book in USA Today best-selling author Molly Harper’s dazzling new Moonshadow Cove trilogy, simmering with magical mayhem, spicy romance, and laugh-out-loud humor!

As the youngest of three sea witch sisters, Linney Seaworth lives a secluded existence in her family’s secret cottage on Moonshadow Cove, the far side of Starfall Point. Together, the Seaworths wield magic derived from the surrounding waters to keep the human population safe from paranormal threats. But Linney has always longed for a more adventurous life ... which is exactly what she gets when handsome newcomer Gray Brockhurst shows up on the Island.

Gray just inherited one of Starfall’s oldest ghost tour companies. Even though he’s never believed in ghosts, he’s continuing the family business to honor his late grandfather, who relished in sharing the island’s lore. But Gray is thrown for a loop when a lovely local interrupts his tour and changes his entire world view. Apparently, ghosts are all too real, and he’s been offending them with inaccurate stories during his “performances.”

But soon the Seaworths face a bigger problem: A deadly enemy has been unleashed, and it’s unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. As Linney and Gray work together to stop it, the attraction brewing between them just might be the most powerful magic of all.

My review:

Mystery, magic and romance. This tale starts with the youngest of the Seaworth sisters. Linney and Gray’s story is filled with family conflict and new experiences. I thoroughly enjoyed their adventures and look forward to the other sisters finding love and answers to the mysteries plaguing their family.

There's a Way (Mythic Beast #2) by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Will and his boy are working things out, dealing with speed bumps as they arise while they look for their third. Will meets a woman after the final concert of this tour and takes her in his dressing room, then on the sink in a locked family bathroom a few hours later, and then his hotel room after the party — all in the first four hours he knows her.

He’s a little in love with her fifteen minutes in, but how will his boy feel about her?

She has a secret, and it’s a big one. When she’s told she might never be allowed to tell her men what she really is because Will is famous, she’s devastated. How can she continue sharing her life with them when there’s so much they can’t know about her?

Please note: This book continues the story started in Where There’s a Will.

My review:

WOW! This book takes us on a journey of discovery. Will has always known that he has wanted/needed a throuple relationship to make his life complete. In Where There’s a Will (the first book) Will finds Davy his perfect slave boy. In this book he finds Micca who he believes might just be their third. This is their story. As with any love story honesty and communication are fundamental to its success. It may take awhile and several rather high hurdles but if its worth fighting for the battle will leave you stronger.

Surf God (Deity Dating Book 4) by Sheri Lyn

Blurb:

Some waves are meant to be ridden together.

Poseidon, God of the Sea, has spent centuries riding waves and avoiding emotional entanglements. But when Geoff—a shy, hardworking single father—shows up for surf lessons, Poseidon's immortal heart does something it’s never done before: skips a beat.

Geoff thinks taking lessons from the ridiculously hot instructor is a great idea. Falling for him? Not so much. The gorgeous Surf God is wildly out of his league. There’s no way a guy like Sy—beautiful, confident, and practically perfect—could ever be into someone like him.

Afraid to risk the friendship they’ve built, Poseidon turns to the Deity Dating Agency—run by the ever-chaotic duo Loki and Thor—to help Geoff find his perfect match. But as every date goes hilariously off course, one thing becomes crystal clear: love doesn’t always follow the rules of gods or mortals.

My review:

Awesome! This book tells an adorable tale of Poseidon, a single dad and his precocious daughter. This book had me laughing and sighing and just loving everything about it.

The Love Fix (Sunrise Cove #8) by Jill Shalvis

Blurb:

Welcome back to Sunrise Cove for this heartwarming enemies-to-lovers tale where found family, forgiveness, and love may just be the key to finding yourself, from New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis.

Lexi Clark’s life is falling apart around her, so when she’s summoned home to Sunrise Cove, the last thing she wants to do is face all the complications she left behind. Her past, her stepsister Ashley, and especially her infuriatingly gorgeous childhood nemesis-turned-crush Heath Bowman.

Yep, Lexi’s pretty sure being home again just might kill her. She’s an overachieving art appraiser who doesn’t believe in trust, love, or Happily Ever Afters. Free spirit Ashley, on the other hand, is so full of life it hurts to look at her. But Lexi can’t refuse Ashley’s plea to honor their late mother’s final wish to make amends with the people she’d wronged.  So, on behalf of her estranged mother’s estate—and with Heath in tow as the executor—Lexi embarks on a road trip to repay all the people her gambling addicted mother owed money to.

Complicating everything are the feelings that well up for Lexi: for her mom, for Ashley, and most of all, for Heath. And for the record, she doesn’t like it, or the way he has of scaling the walls she’s built around her heart. The road trip shenanigans that ensue are both funny and heartbreaking, but Lexi finds something shocking along the way. Acceptance. Family. And unbelievably—if you ask Lexi anyway—love.

My review:

Enter the tapestry of Sunrise Cove set in the Sierra Nevada mountains just off Lake Tahoe. The author paints a picture of a woman coming to terms with a painful past. She learning that there are two sides to every story and only she can let it keep hurting her or reconcile her feelings and move on. Lexi has been letting her past inform her present and it’s keeping her from living her best life. Heath to has a painful past but he handles it differently. Watching these two heal and fall in love was heartwarming. The side characters had me doing spit-takes and laughing out loud.

This book can be read standalone.

Writing Mr. Wrong by Kelley Armstrong

Blurb:

Debut author Gemma Stanton knows romance readers love a bad boy—and she has the perfect prototype for her novel: Mason Moretti. High school hockey god-turned-pro player, Mason was Gemma's first crush, but she couldn't forget the sting of his very public rejection. So, she casts him as a hot-headed Highlander in her spicy new historical romance. She never expected readers would find out on live TV when a morning show host invites Mason for a surprise on-air reunion...

As an aging hockey player with a rep for being ruthless on the ice—and roguish off of it—Mason has an image problem. So, when his meet-cute with Gemma goes viral, Mason proposes they build on the momentum with a few fake dates to boost her book sales...and his sagging profile. But when the fictional flirting gets a little too real, Mason realizes Gemma actually makes him want to become a better man—someone worthy of her trust and her love.

Will Gemma give him a second chance? Mason knows it's a long shot, but taking shots is sorta his thing, and besides, who loves a redemption arc more than a romance author?

My review:

I LOVED THIS STORY! When author Gemma Stanton is told that alphaholes are what is  selling she needs to change her hero type she uses inspiration from the biggest alphahole she’s ever dealt with - Mason (The Mace) Moretti high school hockey god-turned-pro player.

When the high school mean girl sets Gemma up on TV (spoiler she’s still a mean girl) and Mason bails her out life gets interesting.

This second chance rom-com had me rolling on the floor. I don’t know how I ended up feeling sorry for Mason but miracles do happen. I heartily recommend.

Never Run From An Immortal (Immortals Book One) by Victoria J. Price

Blurb:

Rae Farren has always had a taste for blood. The blood of her enemies, if she’s being specific, but Demesia has been crawling with degenerates for so long the line between friend and foe no longer exists.

War is on the horizon; the fragile existence between humans and the preternatural creatures they share their home with almost at breaking point. With neither time nor luck on her side, Rae jumps at an opportunity to strike a deal with the enemy, even though nothing good can come of their alliance.

Born a bastard Vampire, Aidan Vale has ruthlessly fought his way into his seat of power, but power always comes with a price. He’s sampled most of what Demesia has to offer, but every drop has been like ash on his tongue since his magic was stolen from him, a secret that’s becoming more and more difficult to hide from those who would try to rob him of his throne.

When a foul-mouthed thief offers a bargain with him, Aidan has nothing to lose by accepting. Rae could either be his redemption or his damnation, but refusing her might just be too great a risk.

As sparks fly and tempers flare, one thought alone drives him to see their deal through: know thy enemy.

Set in a corrupt world of magic, technology, and deceit, Never Run From An Immortal is a dual POV, enemies to lovers, urban romantasy between a foul-mouthed Witch and a Vampire Lord. Perfect for fans of a marriage of convenience, forced proximity, and morally grey main characters.

My review:

Never Run From An Immortal grabbed my attention from the title onward. This tale features a complex female lead that fascinated me from the very first page. Rae has more than her fair share of secrets and getting involved with a Vampire Lord isn’t the safest way to keep them. We’re kept guessing throughout and I enjoyed the ride. Can’t wait for the next installment.

Blurb:

Forced from her family home, Carri is desperate to help her family in any way she can.

Which is how she finds herself at Littlepalooza, with a table full of her favorite handcrafted little animals to sell.

And secretly hoping to find a Daddy of her very own.

Everything about Rooker screams Daddy Dom, especially the way he takes care of Carri when she falls and hurts her ankle. From a trip over his knee to the screaming pleasure he gifts her with during their short time together, he’s everything she’s ever wanted in a Daddy.

But Carri’s sisters are the very definition of overprotective and overbearing. And unless she can learn how to stand up for herself to the two people she cares about most, she risks losing out on the love of a lifetime…

My review:

Carri's Critters is an adorable tale of an introverted young woman with poor taste in men and a healthy attachment to yarn of all types. She escapes into her imagination and crafts undemanding friends. I fell in love with Carri alongside Rooker. Looking forward to her sisters tales as well.

Yet she can’t ignore the mysterious warrior who pulls at something buried deep in her core. Her First Mistake (Noelle Marshall #1) by Kendra Elliot

Blurb:

When a very personal cold case murder is reopened, a detective’s secrets come to light in a novel of shocking twists and suspense by a Wall Street Journal bestselling author.

Thirteen years ago, Assemblyman Derrick Bell was murdered in his home by an intruder. His wife, Noelle Marshall, was left for dead. The crime was unsolved, but it wasn’t forgotten.

Today the FBI is tackling a fresh perspective on the case and looking to Noelle, now a detective for the Deschutes County sheriff’s office, for new clues. It is reopening everything Noelle thought was behind her. Memories of her escape from a traumatic childhood. A marriage that wasn’t the perfect love story she’d been promised. And a husband whose charm and privilege hid a dark side. But Noelle has been hiding something too: a secret about the night Derrick died that she has never told anyone.

As past and present and leads and misleads collide, one thing is frighteningly clear. Derrick’s murder wasn’t just unsolved. It’s unfinished. And only the truth—no matter the risk—can save the next victim.

My review:

Kendra Elliot is a wizard at creating strong, flawed, damaged women who overcome all and get the job done. Noelle is one such woman. The author takes us through the unsolved murder that informs Noelle's past and present. You can’t help but admire her grit and guts. A fascinating tale filled with twists and turns that will leave you spinning. I anxiously await the next installment.

An Unexpected Everything (The Cage Family #2) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

He left me with a note.

Weston Caldwell and I had two months together. Two months of intense heat and plans for our future. Then one day he left me sleeping with a note and never turned back. I closed off my heart and my dreams after he left and promised to take care of my family, never trusting love again.

Only Weston isn’t the only secret from my past. And it turns out, if Weston and I aren’t careful, we could lose everything before we find our second chance.

An Unexpected Everything is a second chance, right person, wrong time, single “dad”, contemporary romantic suspense in the Cage Family series featuring Weston and Isabella. Each book can be read as a complete standalone. An HEA is guaranteed!**

My review:

Isabella is having a very bad day. Okay things lately have been a little crazy what with finding out her father had another whole family and her mother knew and didn’t say anything. She’s now working for her new found brothers and might have a little case of imposter syndrome happening. When she’s attacked her over protective family sends her to Cage Lake, the small town in the mountains that her new brothers own most of. That’s when life hands her another bombshell. Weston Caldwell. The only man shes ever loved. The one who left with no word or explanation. And whoo what a reunion. These two are made for each other.

Another fantastically steamy romance from Carrie Ann Ryan.

Blurb:

The exciting conclusion to The Wulf Family Series.

After years of fighting his attraction for his best friend's little sister, Jakob spent one night with her--thinking that it was a new start. Instead, she seemingly walked away from him. Once they are back together, Jakob has one mission: prove he's the man for her.

My review:

STUNNING! As usual Melissa Schroeder has given us a lot to think about and a terrific romance. This story deals with the nature of celebrity, family and the “bro code”. In this exciting conclusion to the Wulfs (and boy was it worth the wait) we get to see Jakob and Lani find their happy.

Her very hot, very bossy, very married roommates.

Constantly keeping her true feelings for the gorgeous firefighters she shares a home with does nothing to help her relax. Though she does get some relief at the club they frequent back home, where they take turns turning her into a submissive puddle of goo at their feet.

So when Ford and Noah suggest a vacation to the infamous Rawhide Ranch, she reluctantly agrees. Maybe she’ll find a nice Dom to flog all her stress and worries away.

Or maybe she’ll discover that her happily ever after has been staring her in the face this whole time…

My review:

Serena lives and works with Ford and Noah. Though she fantasizes about them she figures its never going to happen. Watching Ford and Noah convince her that they truly love and want her had my heart dancing. A sexy standalone addition to the series.

A Dead End Wedding (Tiger's Eye Mystery #13) by Alyssa Day

Blurb:

HERE COMES THE BRIDE ... maybe?

When private investigator and tiger shapeshifter Jack Shepherd is about to marry the love of his life in Dead End, the quirkiest town in Florida, the last thing he wants to deal with is more games from a Fae queen.

But with Jack's fiancee, pawnshop owner Tess Callahan, and all their family and friends, they have to succeed in a series of challenges to win the right to continue as a town—or abandon Dead End forever! The Dead Enders must prove themselves in Courage, Alliance, Wisdom, Compassion, and Beauty before the deadline … which just happens to be the date of the wedding.

Plus, there’s the little mystery of the swamp troll who came to town …

The wedding of the century may be on hold until Jack and Tess can navigate the challenges and win their happily ever after.

(Did we mention the bungee cord?)

Welcome to Dead End, where Here Comes the Bride can turn into a threat— for the bad guys. Jack and Tess are on the case, even on their wedding day, because sometimes it takes a Tiger's Eye to see the truth.

My review:

Jack & Tess are finally going to tie the knot. But in typical Dead End fashion it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to take the whole town to work together to save Dead End so Jack and Tess can celebrate their love. Dead End’s quirky citizens will do what they must so Jack and Tess can get married. Laugh out loud fun.

He's to Die For by Erin Dunn

Blurb:

Brooklyn 99 meets The Charm Offensive in this sparkling romantic murder mystery: it's murder cute in the first degree when a detective finds himself falling for the lead suspect in a career-making case.

At 29, Detective Rav Trivedi is the youngest member of the NYPD’s homicide squad, and his future looks bright. He may be a bit of an outsider in the department—an ivy-league educated gay Brit with a weakness for designer suits—but his meteoric rise and solve rate prove he belongs.

So when his CO assigns him lead on the high-profile murder of a record executive, Rav is ready for action. He won’t be distracted by TV crews, tabloids, or what’s trending on social media, nor by the ridiculously hot rock star with a clear motive and no alibi.

This is it, his shot, and he is not going to screw it up—certainly not by falling in love with his number one suspect…

My review:

Told in the third person He's to Die For by Erin Dunn is a twisted murder mystery and an adorable romance all bound up in a terrific tale. Rav made my heart melt as he juggles a couple of murders and his growing feelings for rock star Jack Vale. The mystery twists and turns leaving me guessing right up till the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.
