Mack by Pepper North

Blurb:

All it takes is a glimpse of a hidden stuffie…

Mack Oliver loves his job as a server at Alfonso’s. The clientele is wonderful and the food divine. Things might be going well at work, but the rest of his life is in shambles.
High-powered lawyer, Grey Bradford spends long hours in his office. He does enjoy taking time to enjoy a good meal. When he spots a small fuzzy face peeking at him from the new waiter’s bun, something inside tells Grey to focus. Could this be the Little he’s dreamed of finding?

Addiction Warning: Pepper’s stories will touch your heart and may warm your bottom. While both sweet & spicy, the Dr. Richards’ Littles stories may contain more heat than some will find comfortable. Playing doctor with Dr. Richards can be an intense experience that borders on electrifying. The greatest risk, however, is developing an intense craving for more after reading just one. Proceed with caution.

My review:

Mack is just adorable. This is the kind of guy that just makes you smile. He is happy in his skin and knows who he is and what he wants. Meeting Grey is icing on the cake. These two will leave you with a happy heart.

That is until Brady shows up with his sexy smile, dangerous good looks, and delusions of claiming her as his mate. All she has to do is ignore the desires he ignites within her.

Wolf shifter, Brady Hudson has loved Everly from the moment they met at the age of four. He broke her heart and her trust three years ago when a family emergency pulled him away without a chance to explain why he had to leave. He returns to Willow Glen with one goal, claim his mate. Convincing her that she belongs to him will be his toughest challenge, but he’s not above using seduction to get what he wants.

Brady isn’t the man he was when he left town. After all, turning in his rogue father to the enforcers of the local pack and becoming the guardian of his thirteen-year-old half-sister changes a person.

When Brady’s sister is taken, he is faced with having to leave his mate, again. However, Everly isn’t letting him go off to search for the teen alone. They will work together to find his sister and the rogue who took her. And this time, Brady will do what he should have three years ago—unalive his father.

My review:

It’s the season for miracles and when Brady comes home to Willow Glen after running out three years ago without so much as a fare thee well to the woman who loves him he is going to need a miracle to win her back.

This is a sweet and heartwarming tale of second chances.

A Rare Gift (Kent Brothers #2) by Jaci Burton

Blurb:

With a disastrous marriage behind him, Wyatt Kent has no interest in getting involved with any woman, let alone his ex-wife's younger sister. But when Calliope Andrews hires him to build an addition onto her day care center, Wyatt can't help but notice she's a desirable woman, as warm and funny as his ex was cold and aloof.

Calliope fell hard for Wyatt the first time he walked through the door of her family's home, and can't believe her sister let him get away. He's still the star of all her fantasies, and she's determined to prove to him she's nothing like his manipulative ex. Wyatt may be all business, but Calliope sees the way he looks at her when he's supposed to be working...

It's not long before Wyatt and Calliope are keeping each other warm on cold December nights. But it's going to take a Christmas miracle for Wyatt to put his trust in love a second time.

My review:

A grumpy contractor and a perky childcare specialist. He’s sworn off women and she loves a challenge. Even if it is her sisters ex. I loved watching these two get together. Sometimes the second time is the charm. A sweet romp in the season of miracles.

Daddy's Naughty List Anthology

Daddy's Naughty List Anthology by Pepper North, Stella Moore, Raisa Greywood, Cami Carlisle, M.A. Innes and Lucky Moon

Blurb:

Good girls and boys get Daddy’s kisses. Naughty girls and boys get Daddy’s switches.

When Santa makes his list, the worst thing a naughty little one has to worry about is some coal in their stocking. But those who end up on Daddy’s naughty list have far more delicious punishments coming their way.

When these Daddies find out what kind of mischief their little ones have gotten into, Christmas Eve will no longer be a silent night…

And Rudolph’s nose won’t be the only thing glowing red and bright.

My review:

A delightful collection of age play romance during the holidays.

A Bucket List for Daddy by Raisa Greywood is a smart tale of a sheltered young woman who is encouraged to dream and finds the answer to her dreams in the arms of her smart Daddy.

A Little Christmas Booty by Stella Moore – Even Daddies have doubts and insecurities and in this sweet tale little girl Taylor asks Santa for what she wants and reassures her Daddy that she is indeed his good little girl

Connor’s Bliss by Cami Carlisle tells the tale of a strong Daddy and the bad little girl that owns his heart. I enjoyed watching these two get their holiday wish.

Daddy’s Special Helper by M.A. Innes features a little boy with trigger issues and his patience and loving Daddy. This story tore me up and put me back together. A heartwarming win.

Melissa by Pepper North introduces us to adorable little girl who has the most unique job I’ve read. She meets her perfect Daddy on an app. The holidays are going to be very happy for this little girl.

A Little Christmas Carnival by Lucky Moon takes us to a kink ranch where we meet Lulu a greeting card artist stifled in a job where she is not appreciated. We also meet a Texan businessman interested in setting up a similar place in Texas. Ben and Lulu are perfect for each other and maybe Santa can play matchmaker. I really liked watching Lulu blossom in this story.

Johnny Gun: Devils' Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti

Blurb:

This Daddy will protect his little, and he doesn’t plan to ask permission. Or forgiveness…

Johnny Gun’s errand from Garden City to the club’s Dalton, Georgia chapter is his idea of the perfect ride. Hard, fast…and alone. Until a pair of sparkling emerald eyes and a laugh like Christmas bells arouses his inner Daddy Dom and complicates his simple life all to hell.

Isolde is a sweet, natural little, but so damned young, while Johnny’s on the wrong side of thirty. Plus, her father—the Dalton club’s president—will snap him like a twig. So Johnny regretfully puts her angelic perfection in his rear-view mirror. As the months go by, he gives up trying to forget her.

When word reaches Garden City that the Steel Wolves are planning to kidnap Isolde and wipe out their Dalton brothers, Johnny doesn’t wait for permission. He sweeps Isolde into hiding at a remote waterfront house, where he discovers she never forgot him, either—and passion roars to life.

But somewhere in the Devils' Spawn brotherhood there’s a snake in the grass. And no one is prepared for the violence of the poison when it strikes…

NoteJohnny Gun is book three in the Devil’s Spawn Daddies series. It features a different couple from books one and two, Cutter and Barron, but for maximum enjoyment readers are encouraged to read the series in order. Age Gap and DD/Lg dynamics included.

My review:

We knew Johnny was in over his head for Isolde since his dispatch trip to Dalton. In this book we find out what happened on that trip and how it affects him now that Isolde is in trouble. Their relationship grows despite the dangers that follow them.

This is a sweet, sassy and smexy read that is guaranteed to melt your heart.

Flirty Pucking Wolf (Paranormal Hockey League Book 3) by Jenny Fenshaw

Blurb:

What do you get when a flirty-as-puck hockey playing wolf shifter who seems to think everything is a joke is paired with his teammate’s sister who takes everything too seriously? Sparks.

Trevor

I’ve heard the gossip. The only reason I’m on the Devil Birds is because our coach is engaged to my sister. Doesn’t matter how many goals I score, how much fun I am to be around, or how hard I work, the haters say I don’t deserve to be here. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove my worth to the team, even if that means shaking my tail on national TV in a celebrity ballroom dancing competition as a publicity stunt for the team. However, I draw the line at falling for my dance partner. Sophie Mackenzie is sexy, snarky, entirely too serious, and no doubts wants things I can’t give her. And she’s my teammate’s sister.

Sophie

I’ve heard the gossip. I only have my spot on this season’s Celebrity Dance Dare – Shifter Edition because of my family connections. My mother is a judge on the original show and my twin brother is a past champion. I’m being given a chance as a favor to them. It doesn’t matter that I’m just as talented as my brother, learned everything I know from my mother, or paid my dues as a backup dancer in the show’s troupe - the haters say I don’t deserve to be here. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I deserve my chance in the spotlight, even if it means I have to teach a hulking professional hockey player how to ballroom dance well enough to win the Platinum Paw trophy. However, I draw the line at falling for my dance partner. Trevor Carter is sexy, totally full of himself, entirely too irreverent, and no doubt wants things I can’t give him. And he’s my brother’s teammate.

We want a common goal - to win the Platinum Paw trophy and prove our worth to the haters - so why is it so hard to work together? It doesn’t matter how attractive we find each other, this is a business arrangement. We put up with each other to win the show and then part ways. We want different things, and those things are not compatible. No matter how much we secretly wish they were.

Flirty Pucking Wolf is a shifter hockey romance full of humor, heart, and heat. If you want to laugh, sigh, and swoon, not necessarily in that order, with funny, sexy shifters, this is the book for you!

My review:

I am getting a total kick out of this fun and flirty series. In this episode Devil Birds center Trevor is voluntold that he is to be a contestant on Celebrity Dance Dare – Shifter Edition to bring attention to the team.  The problem is his partner on the show is his teammates sexy sister.

Sophie Mackenzie wants win so she can get out from under her mother and her twins notoriety and recognized for her own talent.

The chemistry between these two is apparent from the start. Will the pressure from the hockey season, the dance competition, family and friends get between any chance of happiness between these two? Laugh your way through finding out.

A terrific addition to the series.

The Next Grave (Columbia River #6) by Kendra Elliot

Blurb:

Following a murder and a woman’s sudden disappearance, investigations into old crimes and new collide in an alarming novel of suspense by a Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestselling author.

Detective Evan Bolton is gutted by his latest investigation. His friend and mentor, retired detective Rod McLeod, has been murdered, his body left in the trunk of a junkyard car. When McLeod’s daughter and grandson abruptly vanish, Evan knows it’s not a coincidence. Search and rescue canine specialist Rowan Wolff agrees as she and her dog, Thor, track the missing family.

The two cases converge in a puzzling twist. Evan discovers that McLeod has been reinvestigating old crimes—solved but not forgotten. But Evan and Rowan’s time is slipping away. They have to find the killer now. Before someone else disappears. Before someone else dies.

My review:

A gut-wrenching investigation into the murder of his now retired mentor has Detective Evan Bolton working overtime. We follow along as he has to put personal feelings aside to work the case. Clues are few and confusing. I couldn’t put this one down.

Cage (Dark Ops Daddies Book 1) by Kate Oliver

Blurb:

Troubled and lost.

They were once teenage boys with no hope for the future. Now they live a life of danger, doing things no one else in the world can do. All it took was a twist of fate to change their lives forever.

Ember
My father says I'm in danger and that he's sending me away. Once again.
With him. Cage Black.
Stubborn, bossy, hot, and he knows my secret without me even telling him.
For the first time in my entire life, I feel like I matter.
I feel like I've found what I've always needed.
It's only temporary.
But I don't want it to be.

Cage
I'm not a bodyguard.
Yet, somehow, I got sucked into protecting her.
From the second I lay eyes on her, I know I'm in trouble.
She's everything. Sweet, obedient, adorable.
I'll keep her safe.
I might even end up keeping her for myself.

My review:

Cage started out broken but has put himself together like Kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or platinum) he is flawed but beautiful.

Ember is a bit broken too. She is stronger than she knows and with the support of Cage and his family can grow into the woman she is meant to be.

This story will tug at your heart and make you smile when you are through. I really enjoyed this and look forward to getting better acquainted with Cage’s family.

It Happened at Christmas by Sandra Sookoo

Blurb:

A widow needing attachment. An earl searching for hope. A young girl wanting a family. A handful of days to change everything…

Lady Lydia Kingston has pretended for years; it was easier that way. As headmistress and owner of a finishing school in London, people trusted her because they thought she was a proper woman of the ton, except all of that was a lie, but when her sordid past collides with the present she’s worked to build, scandal follows and sends her to Scotland despite the imminent holiday season. No longer does she believe in that magic.

Jackson Ramsay, the Earl of Greystone, has no patience for what the season demands. London lost its polish and draw, neither is he in the mood for revelry or festivities and he certainly doesn’t want a woman to complicate everything. Spending the holidays with his daughter brings difficult memories, and not wanting her to be exposed to the emptiness that is the beau monde, he takes her on a holiday to his estate near the Scottish Highlands. The joy of Christmastide has long been forgotten.

Misfortune throws the earl and Lydia together, but the forced proximity of a shared road trip sparks a strong attraction between them, and a yearning for more. In the Lake District, a fierce snowstorm strands them; necessity has the three essentially playing house until the roads clear. Desire consumes the couple, but her secrets and his might just destroy the love they both desperately need and deserve before unexpected traditions can be born.

… showing that magic and miracles can happen on Christmas if they only believe

My review:

It Happened at Christmas is a spicy Regency romance that has each character hiding from their own painful pasts and decisions. A snowstorm and some unfortunate events throw an Earl, a finishing school Headmistress and the Earl’s teenage daughter together through the Christmas holidays and they each find a part of themselves thought lost or damaged beyond repair. Although this is steamy it is also heartwarming.

More Than Meets the Eye (Tiger's Eye Mystery #12) by Alyssa Day

Blurb:

A small-town mystery with laughter, kissing, mayhem, and magic

When private investigator and tiger shapeshifter Jack Shepherd has to make the biggest decision of his life, everybody in Dead End, the quirkiest town in Florida, wants to offer their advice.

But when Jack's girlfriend, pawnshop owner Tess Callahan, discovers a dead body in her garage, all decisions are on hold until Jack and Tess, with the help of their friends and family, can solve the mystery.

And did we mention the werewolves?

Because nothing will stop justice in Dead End, and sometimes it takes a Tiger's Eye to see the truth.

My review:

What would a Dead End proposal be without a dead body, a possessed mirror, an enchanted disco ball and a town full of unhelpful busybodies? Don’t know and I guess we’ll never know.  Jack has finally decided to propose to Tess (YAY!) but before he can pop the question he needs to find out why there is a dead wolf shifter in Tess’ garage.

More Than Meets the Eye is a fantastic addition to the series. It is a total gigglefest.

Dr. Andreana Howard is more than ready to lend a hand when her college roommate Ana calls for a favor, but she’s unprepared for the handsome billionaire who mistakenly assumes she’s a call girl upon his arrival. As they tackle unruly animals, navigate the challenges of a town grappling with gentrification, and face the aftermath of a hurricane, both begin to unearth the depths of their true selves. With Andy learning that she doesn’t have to shoulder her burdens alone, and Lincoln realizing that real life is far more enriching than his previous escapades, their time together becomes a whirlwind of unpredictability.

When the two weeks come to an end, they must confront the undeniable spark that has ignited between them. Will they choose to return to their separate worlds, or will they seize the once-in-a-billion chance to create a future together?

My review:

This delightful romp has us watching as spoiled billionaire Lincoln Caruthers gets an eyeful of how the other side lives. Veterinarian Dr. Andreana Howard, Andy to her friends gets to show Lincoln what he misses from his ivory tower. These two have insta-lust but can it turn into something more?

I laughed so hard at the mishaps and mistakes that these two (mostly Lincolin) go through. A fantastic addition to the series.

Though this is part of a multi author series each book can be read standalone.

Blurb:

Quirky Small Town Feel-Good Fast-Paced Steamy Rom Com Mystery Romance

Is it the sky clad Wiccans meeting on the roof? The book club drinking "magic mushroom" tea in the meeting room? The black cat who moved uninvited into the shop? The sudden run on Tarot card sales?

Maybe it can be traced to the downed power line that rendered the bookshop owner technically dead making her the new conduit to the local ghost community. Or to the cadaver lab next door and the hot but mysteriously secretive doctor who runs it.

All Natalie knows is she can’t ignore him or them anymore now that one of the hot doctor’s cadavers insists his death was the result of foul play and she's the only one who can bring him justice.

He’s a billionaire Duke, he owns a good ten per cent of the UK, and he’s been voted Britain's Sexiest Aristocrat, but Oliver Harding still doesn’t know what to do about the massive crush he has on his cleaner. Lottie’s clumsy and really crap at her job, but her laugh is infectious, her smile lights up the room, she’s insanely good at chess, and he can’t stop thinking about her.

Aware of the power imbalance, he sets out to make her his, and he thinks he’s getting somewhere until she seriously betrays his trust. So now he tells himself he hates her, and he makes sure everyone knows it. But once Ollie realizes that his privilege and self-absorption have made him entitled and completely blind, he’s determined to win Lottie back. A fake engagement might be a bit extreme, but his family had been getting its way for five hundred years, and the Duke of Buckingham was no different from his ancestors.

Lottie’s life is a struggle. She’s had to fight for everything since going into foster care at the age of twelve. The Duke of Buckingham, wouldn’t understand struggle if it smacked him in the face. He’s got money and family coming out of his ears; she has twenty quid in her current account and no family other than her traumatized, selectively mute eight-year-old little sister, whom Lottie is determined to keep safe.

She doesn’t have time for handsome Dukes with silver tongues. So she tells herself she’s not heartbroken when he turns on her like she knew he would, putting everything she worked so hard for in jeopardy. She needs to concentrate on survival. Djinn Bottle Blues (Destiny of a Middle-aged Witch #2) by Renee George

Blurb:

In my family, danger happens faster than a pixie in heat. I'm Marigold Everlee, a middle-aged eclectic witch with a knack for trouble and a soul that houses a piece of my fiery boyfriend Zev's ifrit spirit.

Talk about a girl on fire. Literally.

Sharing a piece of Zev’s soul also gives me access to his fire magic. Oh, yeah, we keep things hot.

After a harrowing rescue mission where I pissed off half the folks in a secret supernatural realm—not to mention a snake goddess who wants Zev all to herself—I knew trouble would find us again.

I just didn't expect it to show up on the same freaking day I brought Zev home. Someone who clearly missed the memo on "leave the people I love alone or get fired from life" has kidnapped my brother Rowan.

What do they want? Zev, of course. My popular fire djinn can't catch a break.

With few options, we enlist the help of Carver, an eclectic witch friend and mentor. Then, we're off to unravel the mystery of Rowan's disappearance. With their help, I'll face this challenge like I do all challenges—head-on.

The kidnappers obviously don't know who they're messing with. And if they harm a hair on my brother’s head, I will burn their world to the ground. And stomp on the ashes.

My review:

No sooner than half-ogre/witch Marigold Everlee gets her sweetie the djinn Zev back from captivity she finds that her brother Rowan has been captured. They want to exchange him for Zev. They just can’t win. But they have messed with the wrong woman. Marigold with some help from some powerful friends are going to get her brother back, alive and in one piece or there will be heck to pay. This is a mind spinningly fast paced adventure. Highly recommend you read the first installment Burning Djinn Of Fire but this can be read standalone.

Graveyard Dog (Charley Davidson #13.9) by Darynda Jones

Blurb:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Darynda Jones comes a new story in her Charley Davidson series…

Michael Cavalcante has one thing on his mind when he knocks on Izzabel Walsh’s door at two in the morning, half-dressed and a bit toasted: fix the woman’s heater and get back to bed. He vows never to cover for his maintenance tech again, especially after he gets tased and knocked out with a frying pan for his efforts.

Izzy thought she was safe. She’d dyed her hair, changed her name, and moved 1,500 miles away, and still they found her. When a member of her ex’s motorcycle club knocks on her door in the middle of the night, supposedly to fix a perfectly good heater, Izzy panics. Not only have they found her, but they would soon discover she has a daughter. Aka, a weakness. Aka, leverage. She needs time to think. To plan. To figure out how to keep the sexy neanderthal quiet. But she has no idea how to, short of murder. Can she win him over to her side? Or will he be just like all the others once he finds out what she is capable of?

Michael has one chance to convince Izzy he doesn’t want to harm her or her daughter, but more than that, he wants to know who does. And why. And where he can find them. After all, how else is he going to make sure the two sprites, who have wound their way into his heart, are safe?

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

My review:

A short and sweet entry in the Charley Davidson world. Magic. Izzy is a fantastic match for Michael. Pickle was a hoot. This one will make you feel everything.

Vignette Compilation 2024 by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Four stories previously available only through a subscription, now available as a compilation.

Lion, Demon, and Human
Kirsten negotiated for two hours with the Lord of Lust — her body for a specific favor from him — and he specified the King of the Lions must be the one to act as chaperone and witness. Unbeknownst to Kirsten, Xaephan has other ideas about how their little interlude will go. And now we get this scene from Nathan’s POV.

Lion, Vampire, and Human
Nathan and Kirsten awaken in Abbott's bed after Kirsten is overcome by bloodlust and must be kept under guard until she learns control — or until the effects of Bran's blood fade. We've seen the events through Kirsten's point of view, but what was Nathan thinking?

The Biker and the New Wolf
The sex scenes in Careful What You Ask For between Britches and Dozer were all told from Brianna’s POV. If you wondered what Dozer was thinking and feeling when you read the original, here you go!

Dozer’s Punishment
Dozer created an issue during Razor that threatened the RTMC’s standing in Chattanooga’s supernatural hierarchy, and Brain helped him negotiate to fix the problem. One night, twelve hours, at the mercy of Abbott, Gavin, and two other men, told from Dozer’s POV. We couldn’t see this scene in Razor because neither Razor nor Matty attended.

My review:

This one is for the fans. These are four short, dark and steamy tales told from an alternate view from the stories they took part in. If you haven’t read the stories you might not get the context but if you have you’ll thoroughly enjoy.

Winged Wolf Vet (Shifter Vets #3) by Zoe Chant

Blurb:

Who do you call when a winged wolf crashes through the roof of your chicken coop? Shifter Vets!

Leslie’s house was already falling apart before mythical animals started plummeting out of the sky. Now she’s got a hole in her chicken coop, an adorable (and impossible) cub hiding in her kitchen, and her nosy neighbor barging in to search for cryptids.

Not to mention the naked man locked up in her chicken run. Who up until five minutes ago was an enormous, unconscious, injured wolf… with wings.

Shifter vet Bryan is not having a good day. First the magical cub he’s trying to help runs away from him. Then someone put a bullet through his wing. And now he’s woken up in a chicken coop…looking straight into the eyes of his one true mate.

Who just saw the one secret he can never let anyone discover.

Finding love in these circumstances seems impossible. But Vets for All Pets - and the magical creatures its shifter veterinarians care for - has a lot of experience with things that don’t seem possible…

My review:

I binged Unicorn Vet, Bear Vet and then Winged Wolf Vet. You don’t have to read the first two but I would recommend them as they put Bryan’s actions into context. Bryan is used to hiding his true shifter side from everyone even his friends don’t know his wolf can fly. When he is mistaken for a mothman and shot at he lands in the chicken coop of the new girl in town and his true mate. This story tells how the grumpy vet and the perky entrepreneur work through his issues and let love win.

Spending Christmas in Hell (Diamonds of London, #8) by Sandra Sookoo

Blurb:

When two disenchanted people come unexpectedly together, Christmas is suddenly brighter.

Ever since Sir Timothy Dashfield—a baronet with a few holdings—became partners in a successful counting house with his best friend who’d recently married, his life has taken on a sense of restlessness and boredom. When he’s tasked with collecting the overdue rent on a townhouse owned by a clockmaker, that last thing he expects is a pretty Irish young lady with mix of annoyance and sorrow in her eyes.

Miss Ashlynn Athercrombe lost her father six months before. Since the clock repair shop closed, there is no money coming to pay bills. To make matters worse, Christmastide is upon London, and she doesn’t feel like celebrating. When a man from the counting house comes to collect the unpaid rents, something inside her snaps and she rounds on the unfortunate, handsome man in a spectacular display of hysterics.

Perhaps it was the maudlin mood or perhaps it was the unwillingness to spend the holiday alone, but when Timothy temporarily loses his mind and asks Miss Athercrombe to marry him and she accepts, they embark on a very different future than they both had planned. Immediately, the differences between them create misunderstandings and obstacles, but by working together and remembering a bit of mistletoe magic, they might just find everything they have been too fearful to seek out themselves...

...and if they can’t find common ground, they’ll surely spend Christmas in hell.

My review:

A smashing good time!

Sir Timothy is feeling a bit put out. His best friend has recently married and has been spending time with his new bride leaving to fend for himself more often than not.

Miss Ashlynn is a recent orphan who is about to be put out on the streets by Timothy as her rent is in arrears and he holds the deed.

This is their tale. It is funny, steamy and heartwarming. Though this is part of a series each book can be read standalone.

A Mage Made in Heaven (Casino Witch Mysteries 10) by Nikki Haverstock

Blurb:

There are three rules at the Golden Pyramid Casino Poker Tournament:

1.      Don't blow your winnings in one night

2.     Hide your tells

3.     No magic

Ella's life is finally exactly how she wants it. Well, almost. She's running a security firm with Vin and business is booming. But Vin is sure something is wrong after they are hired to provide extra security at the Golden Pyramid's annual poker tournament, and that instinct proves explosively correct. Now they have to solve the case and protect the tournament participants, plus Ella's mentor shows up, triggering a big life decision, all while trying to avoid getting squished by a building.

My review:

This is the book I’ve been waiting for! Ella is finally getting a grip on her magic and becoming the strong witch she was meant to be. She and the gang are doing well and their skill will be challenged by this mystery. Another fun magical mystery.
