Hot Wings (The Hot Cannolis #2) by Eli Easton & Tara Lain

Blurb:

The alpha meets his match.

Most macho of all the super-alpha Canali brothers and proud of it, Donny’s famous for his gorgeous face, his firefighter prowess, and for going through girls his family doesn’t approve of as fast as he changes jeans.

Donny’s biggest hero is his fire captain dad, until his life gets saved from the skies by fire pilot Dell Murphy.

Dell’s certain about most things. He’s been proud to be gay since he was ten, handled a helicopter in Afghanistan like it was part of his body, and can fly a fire bomber in the worst conflagration. And he’s absolutely certain that Donny Canali belongs to him.
Dell also knows how to show a lover he’s in charge.

Donny’s shocked to discover how much he’s turned on by dominant Dell, but Donny’s not gay. He’s not. He can’t be. It would break his father’s heart.

Leaving Dell will break Donny’s.

HOT WINGS is a battle of the alphas, hot firefighters, two crazy families, dominant lover, HEA romance with a helping of laughter and even more feels.

My review:

This book is amazing. Donny is a man whore who gave his brother crap when he came out as gay. Payback is a booger when he finds himself falling for the smoking hot fire pilot. Watching Donny realize that love is love is heartbreaking and transcendent. Dell may be dominant, but his patience with Donny and his dad was amazing. This book left me smiling for days.

Tough Justice (K-9 Special Ops #1) by Tee O'Fallon

Blurb:

It should have been a routine investigation. Instead, DEA K-9 agent Adam “Deck” Decker watches in horror as one Denver hospital seems to be Ground Zero for overdoses of a new drug. Now Deck can only hope a certain icy, green-eyed ER doctor will help him and his canine partner track down the deadly source.

Dr. Tori Sampson has her reasons for not trusting federal agents, especially ones working for the DEA. But the rash of overdoses--including a heartbreaking case involving a teen--is alarmingly high. And the new opioid is not only extremely dangerous, it defies all the usual medical treatments. So Tori has a choice: work with the big, brawny, and annoyingly hot DEA agent...or watch more innocent people die.

Tori’s the only person who can help Deck break the case, and they’ll need to trust each other, no matter how high the tension and attraction sizzling between them runs. But with every question answered, they realize there’s something more behind these typical teen overdoses. There’s a pattern here, and a pattern can only suggest one thing. There’s a killer on the loose.

My review:

Tough Justice pits an ER doctor with a hate on for the DEA and a DEA agent who doesn’t trust doctors the each have reasons for their distrust. They both hate the “gray death” on the streets that is killing people enough to work together. They find that maybe they can trust each other and maybe more.

This story takes on the fight against the opioid epidemic the country is facing with a story ripped straight from the headlines. With a love story thrown in that will make you smile.

GSD Thor will steal your heart.

Blurb:

Ava Harper is ready to settle into her new life of witchcraft, necromancy, and being a bonded mate. All she wants to do is help her best friend learn about her powers and write her next bestselling book.

Unfortunately, new events conspire to keep her on her toes. Wasn’t almost dying bad enough?

In addition to dealing with the chaos in her personal life, now a group of necromancers want to make sure Ava doesn’t abuse her changing power.

As she focuses on calming down that drama, a new and separate threat appears out of nowhere to make things more difficult.

And all this while trying to plan a wedding. Really, it’s all getting deadly depressing. Ava will have to rely on her strength, her family, and her friends to make sure everyone comes out of this alive.

My review:

This is part of a series. If you haven’t read the earlier books this probably won’t make much sense to you. To those of us who have indulged in this terrific series this book will take you further down the manic rabbit hole that is Ava’s life. This time there is drama coming from all corners. Olivia’s ex is missing, we find out more about Alfie’s past life and Ava and Drew have their first fight. Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride.

Daddy’s Little Runaway by Alice Newgate

Blurb:

She’s never been safe, she’s never been secure and she’s never had love – but none of that matters when she lays eyes on him. She knows she confuses love and hate, but she needs him. He’s got a fetish for her kind and when he gets the chance he puts himself between her and the world, giving her everything she’s never had.

MINDY
If I didn’t leave I’d probably be dead now, but I don’t belong here either. The girls are too pretty and I’m not good enough to be with any of these daddies.
I can’t cope with mean anymore. I just want to hide away and wait for the angels to take me to a place where no one will ever cause me pain. Except this Little Haven is that place. It’s here that an angel is waiting to heal me, to hold me, and to make sure I never know mean again.

BILL
She’s sitting in the booth in front of mine and I can’t stop staring. When she runs like I’m a serial killer I hope to see her on the road, but don’t. Glum, I think I’ll never cross paths with that little perfect pumpkin again, until I find her alone on the swings in my own back yard.
I can see the bruises, I can see she’s known pain, but what none of us could anticipate is that she’s being hunted and the only thing standing between her and The Bullet, is me.

Daddy’s Little Runaway is a short, sexy Age Play featuring two consenting adults who are the perfect match for each other. It includes some Daddy Dom DDLG elements, some moments of suspense, lots of lust and love, and a Happily Ever After you can root for. Enjoy!

My review:

Mindy is on the run from an abusive, possessive psycho. When Bill first sees Mindy he is smitten. He is not going to let her go nor is he going to let anyone hurt her. This is a short intense tale that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

A Farewell to Charms (Mystic Bayou #6) by Molly Harper, Amanda Ronconi (Narrator), Jonathan Davis (Narrator)

A Farewell to Charms (Mystic Bayou #6) by Molly Harper, Amanda Ronconi (Narrator), Jonathan Davis (Narrator)

Blurb:

Queen of paranormal romantic comedy Molly Harper delivers love and laughter in this magnificent series finale - available in audio first!

Eva Boudreaux keeps the truth about her life before arriving in Mystic Bayou a carefully guarded secret, flying under the radar as a talented boat mechanic. In the swampy little town filled with powerful supernatural beings, Eva never expected to strike up a charged flirtation with one of the Bayou’s human residents.

Alex Lancaster is far too polished for Eva’s taste - not to mention the danger that comes with his high-ranking position in the League, which could expose her secrets. Trouble is, she can’t resist his disarming sense of humor or the chemistry that crackles to life whenever he’s near. Will Alex be able to handle a woman like her? Or will her difficult past keep them apart?

Either way, they’ll need to join forces to solve one final mystery in Mystic Bayou. The fate of the town - and their hearts - depends upon it.

My review:

Alex finally gets the girl! As a human in a town filled with all kinds of paranormals Alex is at a distinct disadvantage. I loved that he wasn’t put off by Eva’s strengths and strength. A Farewell to Charms is another laugh out loud addition to the Mystic Bayou series.

The Beasts I Could Do (Paranormal Dating Agency) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

Rayna Westlake works on her family farm while caring for her aging parents and younger siblings. She longs for romance and forever happiness. She never expected a chance discussion with Gerri Wilder would lead to meeting the two sexiest men of her life. The hunks have her body in flames.

Alpha wolf Pacer Collins and his Beta, Spike Renner, need their third to complete their Alpha Triad and bring peace to their wolf pack. Luckily, Gerri Wilder has agreed to help. Unfortunately, the lovely Rayna needs more than a little convincing. They’ll have to romance her and show her exactly what they have to offer. But they’re not willing to give up when her curves makes them thirsty to touch every inch of her.

Things are not as simple as just getting a lioness to take two wolves for mates. Even if she accepts, will their wolf pack accept a lioness in the alpha triad? Or will a pack war stop any chance they ever had of a happily ever after?

My review:

Gerri Wilder faces a real challenge in this one. A lioness shifter who devotes her life to taking care of her aging and infirmed parents, her younger siblings and the ranch they all depend on Rayna takes very little in life for herself. When Gerri discovers that Rayna is a match for an Alpha wolf and his Beta she knows they are going to have to work hard to convince her that she can be theirs. My heart bled for Rayna. I loved how Pacer and Spike worked to make her realize that she deserved love too. This is a sweet and sexy read.

My review:

Paula's Craving is a short, sweet and sexy tale of second chances. Warped by his upbringing Ryan thinks he is incapable of love. Paula compares every man she meets to the boy she once knew. This book tugs the heartstrings and will make you sweat. Enjoyable read.

Harpy: A Dark RH Romance by Cara North

Blurb:

If you are looking for the traditional Cara North romance, look away. It says Dark on the cover for a reason.

It’s really difficult to bully someone when they want it. I always want it. And so much more.

Could one man provide? Not when what I want is more than one man.

They try to control me. They try to manipulate me.

I’m young, not dumb, and when the darkest of these princes takes a real interest, it’s time to level up.

He thinks because he’s from a crime family he’s wicked. Then he meets me, calls me the devil. He might be right because I don’t just want their bodies, I want their hearts, their souls, and I intend to get everything I want.

One way or another.

Content warning: This is a dark, erotic, new adult, contemporary, reverse harem romance which means there is bullying, dub-con, and multiple partners at once.

My review:

This story starts out dark and stays that way. The characters are real, gritty and downright dirty. I grew to love these flawed characters as they grew to love each other. If hot and sweaty sex bothers you pass this book by. I greatly enjoyed this story.

Cats, Cannolis and a Curious Kidnapping (Anna Romano #1) by Cheryl Denise Bannerman

Blurb:

“Cats, Cannolis and a Curious Kidnapping” is the first novel in the Anna Romano Mystery Series. It is a funny, whimsical, murder mystery series that appeals to ‘mystery readers’ of all ages. Anna Romano is a middle-aged, Italian woman who is also a successful published author, a lover of cats, and an excellent cook with a hankering for Italian cuisine. She lives by herself in her quaint house, in a quiet community, with a white picket fence in Central New Jersey. When she is not writing her next book or hosting book-signing events with her publicist, she is cleaning litter boxes and baking Cannolis…but never at the same time, of course! In this first installment, on a typical day in Anna’s somewhat-perfect life, a book-signing event turns her world upside down. Is it a case of mistaken identity or was she just being paranoid? After being stalked for weeks, Anna quickly finds herself literally ‘tied up’, fighting for her life, and desperate to get back home to her cats; all while unwittingly falling in love with the detective who was trying to save her. How she finds her way out of this mess is anyone’s guess! Find out more about Anna and the dangerous cases of murder and mayhem she ‘haphazardly’ gets herself into, in the new Anna Romano Mystery Series.

My review:

Cats, Cannolis and a Curious Kidnapping is a delightful romp through a fictional authors life where the impossible and inane often occur simultaneously. Anna is content with her life but occasionally wonders if it would be more with a man to share it with. She is slowly but surely entering the crazy cat lady zone.

Being kidnapped by a lunatic with self esteem issues most assuredly helped Anna reflect on her life choices.

I enjoyed watching Anna’s insane antics and Johns frantic race to save her. This was a fun first in a series and I look forward to the next installment.

Four Times The Sass: Sassy Ever After by Lia Davis

Blurb:

Autumn Powell has never truly belonged. As the loner of the Wolfe Pack, this sassy, curvy shifter lives one day at a time on her own terms. And she prefers her life this way. But when four gorgeous tiger shifters walk into her bar, her wolf can’t help but notice. As desires and fantasies begin to stir within, suddenly her quiet life isn’t so quiet anymore.

Korbin, Chase, Logan, and Maddox are on the hunt for a killer. Knowing Autumn could very well be the next target, they have no choice but to offer her their protection. But Autumn isn’t the type to sit around and wait, and it quickly becomes clear that they are supposed to do more than just keep her alive. If they can help her survive, can they also convince her that she’s meant to be the mate for each of them?

My review:

Autumn is an alpha red wolf shifter. She is strong, smart and independent. It makes her feel alone in a crowd. When the four hunky tiger shifters come looking for a murderer she is intrigued. When she catches the murderers attention, they offer her protection and a whole lot more in this steamy tale of love, lust and murder. I like that Autumn isn’t a simpering damsel in distress but knows when to seek help when needed. A hot read.

Blurb:

Take one set of star-crossed lovers, an empty tank of gas, and a Blue Creek Scenting Ceremony… and you have the recipe for disaster or romance… perhaps both!

Moira Wolfe knew better. Who lets their car run out of gas? Especially while driving around a town she’s not supposed to visit. When she locks eyes with a sexy wolf shifter her body lights up in a way she’d never experienced, and the thrill of attraction tinged with trepidation sends her running.

Now Alex and Moira are about to challenge everything the other thought they knew about life. Together, they’ll have to navigate a generation of lies and betrayal to uncover the truth and learn whether or not they’re actually meant to be together.

My review:

Fate will not be denied. Alex Xerashi has been waiting for what seems like forever to find his mate. He thinks that attending the Scenting Ceremony is a waste of time.

Moira Wolfe has run out of gas just outside of Blue Creek a town her parents have warned her against ever visiting.

Moira finds her past and her future at the same time. This is a fast paced, super steamy tale of love and lies.

Stolen by Her Wolves (Wolves of Newhaven #1) by Kaylin Peyerk

Blurb:

As one of the final surviving members of a brutal shifter clan, I've been chained and imprisoned for my entire life by my human uncle for the sole purpose of keeping other humans safe from me.

At least that's his excuse.

Solitude and pain are all I've known, so when four men show up claiming to be my saviors I'm not exactly receptive to the idea. Sure, I'm grateful that they've busted me out of my own personal brand of hell, but that's about as far as the gratitude goes. Now I have no money, no pack, and nowhere to go unless I take them up on their offer to transport me safely to Newhaven, a sanctuary for omega wolves deep in the woodlands of Alaska.

With no other choice left, I take it while vowing to keep my distance for the week-long trip. But as time passes my guard falls, leaving me conflicted and suddenly vulnerable to the charismatically handsome group of men. Will I make it to Wolfhaven without falling for them, and do I really want to?

This is a reverse harem wolf shifter romance with themes of abuse trauma, overcoming it, and learning to trust the ones you love.

My review:

Oh boy! This tale takes you from Talia’s release from torture to her new home and new beginnings. This story is painful at times. I did like that Talia didn’t just fall into her rescuers arms. However, I was left with more questions than answers. I guess I’ll just have to get the next in the series.
