Death's Shroud (The Cauldron Coven Book 1) by Robbie Cox

Blurb:
Death stalks the dreams of the residents of Harbor City, and bodies are piling up.

Laci Valentine is done. Done with magic. Done with the Cauldron Coven. Done with the people around her dying. She is through being a witch. Then, Nazareth Xavier appears with a message from Hekate, Goddess of the Underworld.

The Cauldron Coven is shattered. Two members are dead, two have walked away, and three are heartbroken over everything that happened over the last month. Tansy Paxton fears it’s the end of her small coven when a young witch, Sherri Rockford, enters The Murky Cauldron. Hope fills Tansy until things begin to feel a little too familiar. Has another demon entered the Land Above? Or is Sherri just a witch on the wrong path?

My review:
Death's Shroud is an intricate spin off from the Warrior of the Way series by this author. He does cover all the pertinent parts so you don’t feel lost. This book takes Laci broken and confused from events in the previous series and starts her on a new path one that is strewn with trials and troubles but has the potential to restore her reason for being. I enjoyed this tale and can’t wait to see where the author takes us from here.

Brush with Catastrophe (The Aloysius Tales #2) by Tara Lain

Blurb:
Sammy Raphael is a crappy witch, and on top of that, he can’t seem to get a boyfriend. Where other supernaturals can bring down lightning and manifest wealth, Sammy can paint. Granted, the “prophetic” paintings he creates at night always come true, but they never predict anything important. Sammy feels like a total loser with a worthless ability.

One night he paints a gorgeous guy who turns out to be his secret crush, the human Ryder, but Ryder’s changed so much he’s almost unrecognizably beautiful. Then Sammy paints an angel who turns out to be a witch. But is that witch also a devil—a devil who can bring down Sammy’s whole community and everyone he loves? And why the hell does Ryder keep changing? Aloysius, the black cat familiar, always backs a winner. So why is he backing Sammy?

My review:
Sammy Raphael may be a crappy witch but he is a fabulous artist and a heck of a nice guy. Everybody loves him but nobody loves him. In this story we watch as Sammy grows into his power and finds love is his most potent power. This is a sweet and charming paranormal romance that will leave you with lots to think about.

Always protect what’s yours.  Heather Rockfell is a badger with anger issues. A liability to the FPU, she is suspended and forced to take anger management classes. Not one to just sit around, she needs to get back in the middle of the action. While having dinner with her twin brother, something happens that will change her life forever.  Shelby Masters only wants what’s best for his son and that means keeping him from those that want to take him away. Things heat up and danger is getting closer. Can they both survive?

My review:
Heather has issues, a gun and a low tolerance for idiots and those that would hurt innocents. This has put her on suspension from her job with the FPU but doesn’t keep her from taking a side job.  This book is sweet and sassy and a whole lot of fun.

Savage King: New Worlds (The Crystal Kingdom Book 5) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:
Through magic gone totally wrong, Wren and her cousins wind up on Gecire, sister dimension to the Crystal Kingdom.

Wren McClure, journalist by day, romance writer by night, has a hard time facing the world’s ever-increasing responsibilities. Her life is already pretty messy. She doesn’t have time to think of falling in love, but she has no say in matters of her heart. Not when a big, sexy shifter decides she’s his.

Xenos Woodsky, alpha of the Gnoleon fae, has endured over three hundred years of self-induced solitude for a mistake that killed many in his tribe. When his mate portals into his reclusive life, he’s forced into taking action. It’s time to return to his people. It’s time to claim the woman he wants.

Old enemies come back and the tribe is forced to move. They need everyone’s help, especially Xenos. Xenos has to decide if he’s going to face up for past actions with his people and save the day, or lose his mate and his tribe.

My review:
What if shifters and magic were real? Wren McClure, journalist by day, romance writer by night has contemplated that question many a time. When attempting to go home Wren and her cousins are misdirected to a dimension where shifters and magic are real but so is the danger that goes with it. Wren is a whole lot stronger than she knows and this story is going to prove it to her and anyone who has ever questioned it. Sexy alpha men, hot sex and magic. This is a total vacation for the mind.

Pirate's Persuasion (Sentinels of Savannah #4) by Lisa Kessler

Blurb:
Immortal pirate Drake Cole has a reputation in Savannah for his custom woodworking and historical restorations, but his work has grown into an obsession. He's become a stranger to his crew since the Sea Dog sank in 1795. None of them know his painful secret. A young stowaway went down with the ship, one that Drake swore a blood oath to protect.
The ghost of a young boy, lost at sea over two hundred years ago, leads local medium, Heather Storrey right to Drake’s door. He saved her life before, and now she has a chance to return the favor, but how can she protect him from a curse that no one can see?
A dark coven possesses the figurehead from the Flying Dutchman, and if Heather and the immortal Sea Dog crew don't locate the relic soon, Drake may be lost to them forever. Heather has seen the passionate man behind the veil of guilt, and she's determined to free him from his self-imposed prison, and persuade this pirate to love again.
Each book in the Sentinels of Savannah series is STANDALONE:
* Magnolia Mystic
* Pirate's Passion
* Pirate’s Pleasure
* Pirate's Persuasion
My review:
Eternity is a long time to carry guilt and be alone. Drake Cole has been carrying the loss of his nephew in his heart since the boy died on the Sea Dog long ago.  Now the ghost of his nephew is back and trying to save Drake. Medium Heather Storrey is the one who has been delivering the messages. But it is the love they share that will save or destroy him. I was enthralled by this story. Heather is unique in looks and personality. She is the balm to Drakes troubled soul. I ached for these two and was thrilled for their HEA.

My review:
Resisting Love is a charming tale of love at long last. Pascal and Nerissa have crushed on each other for so long it was a delight to see them finally do something about it. The magic in Black Hollow comes from not only its paranormal citizens it comes from love and I get something from every visit.

My review:

Forever Only Once is the remarkable tale of a woman coming into her own after surviving an abusive relationship. Hazel has been through hell and is starting over. The meet cute between Hazel and Cross set the pace for the rest of the story. These two are so sweet together I needed to brush my teeth. A fantastic start to a new series.

Her mission: Take her place as the protector of Wyrding Way and unravel the mystery of her parents' death.

Love to Hate You (The Fillmores #2) by Melissa Schroeder

Blurb:
Grab the next exciting installment from USA Today Bestselling author Melissa Schroeder set in the Camos and Cupcakes world!

For years, I’ve loved him. Not that I ever told him, or that he would ever be able to tell. I hid it from him…from everyone including my best friend.
Travis Fillmore is my best friend’s brother and the object of my infatuation. He’s also my cohost for our home improvement show and we are zooming to the top right now. Unfortunately, I can’t work with him any more. He’s pushed me too far with his antics and I’m walking away. Only, he just realized how much he needs me on the show and he wants me back. He just pops into town and thinks I will forgive and forget.

At first, I don’t believe him, but he won’t go away. He tells me that he’s changed, that he can be professional. And I believe him. Until he kisses me…and then does a whole lot more. A night with him is a fantasy come true–until someone threatens our happiness. An overzealous fan…I can deal with that. What scares me is the man who could shatter my heart and leave me broken.

Warning: This book include breaking and entering, donuts, sarcastic friends, a woman with many trust issues, a man who doesn’t realize what he wants until he almost loses it, a weirdo who doesn’t understand boundaries, nosey neighbors, a trip to the Juniper Jail again, and a happily ever after for two people who finally admit they are in love.

My review:
I LOVE THIS BOOK from the gorgeous cover to the very last page. Everybody knows that Travis and Nancy are hot for each other but Travis and Nancy. This frenemies to lovers tale will have you pulling hair, cussing and fussing until they finally figure it out then you’ll be wreathed in smiles and fanning yourself.

Their leader isn’t just trying to stop her from teaching—he’s using Mel as a moral scapegoat for his own senate campaign. There’s just one problem: voters don’t understand pole. Mel needs to change her image, fast. If she can’t get the people on her side, she won’t have a business to save.

Can Mel figure out how to come out on top?

Fans of My Fair Lady will love this fun, witty update.

My review:
Poll Dancer is a light and flirty take on female rights and double standards that will have you thinking and laughing and hoping for a reality that just isn’t there yet. I enjoyed this delightful romp and look forward to more from this author.

Surrendered in Salem (Casters and Claws #4) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:
Selene Bishop runs the Healsome Magic Center with her sister. She loves her job, but she did wish that her life had time for something more. She doesn't know what she's looking for, but she would settle from a bit of free time. When she is taken to a secluded house on a wolf's pack lands for her own safety, Selene realizes that she might have gotten exactly what she was hoping for.

Jett is a grumpy wolf who doesn't expect much out of life. After a lifetime of regrets, he's just fine being on his own. None of his plans include finding his mate. In fact, he is adamant that he doesn't want a mate. He just knows that domestic life isn't for him. He wants to work in the bar and go through the motions. But when he is sent to save a witch, he comes face to face with what he never wanted.

Selene might be a witch, but she understands the pull of the mate sense. She also has a lot of compassion for what Jett has been through. While he is protecting her from the Order of Salem, Selene is doing some saving of her own. Will she be able to mend her mate's broken heart or will they lose out on the love of a lifetime?

My review:
Surrendered in Salem may be my favorite of the four stories in this series. Selene is a witch who always looks for the good in people and situations. She is a blessing on this earth. Jett is a grumpy wolf shifter with self esteem issues. He is gorgeous and a total manwhore but he doesn’t think he’s worthy of love and especially not one as good as Selene. When fate throws these two together sparks ignite and we get to watch the conflagration. A wonderful ending to a great story.

Trap 'N Trace (Federal K-9 #4) by Tee O'Fallon

Blurb:
For wealthy socialite Katrina Vandenburg, business meetings and charity galas are all part of her orderly, structured world—one that gets blown to hell after finding two dead bodies in the same day. The police think she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. FBI Special Agent Dayne Andrews thinks otherwise. Dayne and his K-9, Remy, are tracking a cold-blooded killer, and that trail...leads straight to Kat.

Kat and her rescue shelter—the Canine Haven—are the only common denominators between the murders, and Dayne is convinced she’s dead center in the killer’s sights. Protecting her will test every ounce of his steely resolve. She’s the most intriguing woman he’s ever met. And everything he shouldn’t want. Too bad neither of them seem to have gotten the memo.

And they need to focus on catching a killer now more than ever. Because if Dayne and Remy fail in their mission, nothing will stand between Kat and the killer’s deadly blade.

My review:
Trap 'N Trace is a story of people from two different worlds. Katrina is a billionaire and Dayne is a K-9 Special Agent with the FBI. When danger throws them together they have to fight the chemistry between them. As they struggle they find they have more in common than they thought. But will it be enough? Won’t matter if they don’t survive.
This story is filled with love, misundertandings and dogs. Angus is an adorable sidekick for Remy. I heartily recommend this great romantic suspense.
This story may be part of a series but stands well on its own.

At Her Command (Mistresses of the Board Room #1) by Joey W. Hill

Blurb:
Getting a man on his knees isn't a problem. To Rosalinda Thomas, it’s an opportunity...

Ros doesn’t accept excuses for falling short. Particularly not from herself. As CEO of a successful New Orleans marketing firm, she knows how to bring quality to the top. The same way she knows how to get it from the men who serve her in the bedroom.

He’s never belonged to a Mistress. Ros is about to change that.

My review:
At Her Command is a sensitive and insightful journey. Rosalinda Thomas is a tough as nails CEO and a Dominatrix who has earned the trust of many a sub. She doesn’t believe in love. Lawrence recently left the SEAL’s and the Navy which makes him pretty tough too. He’s intrigued by Ros’s world. He has the need to serve. Their path isn’t easy but it is worth the pain and sacrifice. This author puts you into the hearts and minds of her characters which makes the story that much more meaningful. This tale will break your heart and rebuild it. Absolutely fabulous.

My review:
Taken by the Imp is a delightfully sweet romp. There are good guys, bad guys, talking cats, magic and love.  Ynez is an Imp and a fabulous chef with a heart of gold and more secrets than even she knows. Dexter is a financial genius and a gifted telepath. He is more gifted than even he knows. When Dexter and Ynez meet its magic. I adored these two. A terrific addition to the series but can be read stand alone.

Consort: A Collective World Novel (Lucifer's War Trilogy Book 1) by Lia Davis & L.A Boruff

Blurb:
Lilith

Lucifer turned me into what I am.
The mother of the Vampires. He gave me that gift.
Our son is the High King of all supernatural creatures on Earth—the Vampires, the Lycans, and now the Witches. He gave us that gift.
Now he’s called me back to Hell. This time, he needs me.
I’ve spent hundreds of years fighting my attraction to the demon that saved me and turned me into the most powerful woman in existence.
Maybe it’s time to give in. Can I truly be happy being the devil's consort?

Lucifer

Lilith has consumed my mind since the day I found her—beautiful and dying.
My visions predicted I’d need her, and the time nears. To make her happy, I’d let her go, but now I need her at my side.
Hell needs her.
She is the key to saving my life, my throne, and possibly my heart.
Funny. I’d never known I had a heart before Lilith.

My review:

Lucifer in love, burdened by prophecy and threatened with insurrection from his twin. In this exciting new trilogy we find Hell at war. This is a brilliant start to what appears to be a thrilling ride.
