Seduced in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder #4) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

The Montgomery Ink: Boulder series concludes with a fake relationship where the heat and emotional connection are anything but false.

The moment Madison McClard’s parents tell her that her ex is getting married, there’s no getting out of their latest scheme. One moment she’s trying to get out of their clutches. The next, they’re telling her exactly who she’ll marry to save the family name. The one thing her parents don’t count on, however: Aaron Montgomery.

Aaron Montgomery didn’t mean to lie. Still, as soon as he overheard Madison’s dilemma, the words fell out of his mouth. Now, he’s fake engaged to a woman he barely knows, who also happens to be his new brother-in-law’s cousin.

As the deception mounts, so does the attraction. They told themselves it was only a ruse, but as feelings ramp and dangers surge, this Montgomery may have just met his match.

He simply has to fight to keep her.

My review:

Carrie Ann Ryan has done it again! Seduced in Ink is a delightful fake fiancé romance that will leave you with a happy heart. Madison isn’t a mouse. She runs her own business and gets things done. Except when it comes to her family. When her mother springs an arranged marriage on her Aaron Montgomery helps her out of a jamb by saying that Madison had already accepted his proposal. Then the fun begins. This story is filled with love, laughter and female empowerment.

Stolen Justice (The Asylum Fight Club, #9) by Bianca Sommerland & Tibby Armstrong

Blurb:

A little wicked isn’t so bad…

When you’re part of the O’Rourke Clan, living up to the family name isn’t optional. Groomed as a drug kingpin’s youngest heir, Pike O’Rourke wasn’t supposed to be in charge. Now, as the last man standing, it’s up to him to make sure the legacy lives on. Even if it means betraying the first two men he’s ever loved.

Thoroughly debauched is better.

Mercenary, Seth Bizenhofer, made a choice ten years ago that cost him everything. Now, when a mission is on the line, his heart is off the table. That is, until he’s assigned to get intel from a mouthy sub whose lust for trouble is as huge as his craving for love. Complicated doesn’t begin to describe his relationship status, but no one ever said the job would be easy.

If history repeats itself...

A healer by training, Quint Templeton’s heart is the only battlefield he’d ever expected to fight on. Even that has been a demilitarized zone since his only breakup. When his newest assignment places him firmly in the sights of the two men who broke his heart, he should say no—but with a price on his head, there’s only one way out. Jumping into the trenches feet first, he’ll make sure Pike and Seth aren’t caught in the crossfire.

The fallout could permanently blow their worlds apart.

My review:

The core group at The Asylum Fight Club has been through hell. That hasn’t kept it from growing and relationships forming among them. In this installment we learn more about Jared and Curtis’s pasts and how it is affecting their present. We meet Pike, Seth and Quint. They are going to set the core group on edge and force them to reevaluate everything.

I love this series and each visit into their world is a revelation. I really enjoyed this book and can hardly wait for the next.

Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic (The Dowser #1) by Meghan Ciana Doidge

Blurb:

If you’d asked me a week ago, I would have told you that the best cupcakes were dark chocolate with chocolate cream cheese icing, that dancing in a crowd of magic wielders — the Adept — was better than sex, and that my life was peaceful and uneventful. Just the way I liked it.

That’s what twenty-three years in the magical backwater of Vancouver will get you — a completely skewed sense of reality. Because when the dead werewolves started showing up, it all unraveled … except for the cupcake part. That’s a universal truth.

My review:

I received this delicious story as a gift. I tore through it in one sitting and immediately upon finishing bought the rest of the series.  Jade is a bit naïve but likeable. Vampire Kett is just creepy enough and Alpha Desmond is annoying. This book tells of Jades introduction to her future and rips the shades off her past. I loved it and am diving into book two now.

Black Hollow: Blood Shadows by Robbie Cox

Blurb:

The past has returned. So have the nightmares.

Miles Lysander struggled for decades to put the past behind him and recapture the serenity he experienced before the Korean Conflict. With the help of Deana Abbington, he is almost there. However, a stranger has appeared in Black Hollow, bringing back memories of time Miles would prefer to forget.

Seeing her grandfather on her doorstep excited Deana Abbington, and she couldn’t wait to show him around town. However, a run-in with her grandfather’s past, brings the visit to a quick boil, and Deana is put between one of the people in her Struggling Paranormals Anonymous group and the man she strove to be like her entire life.

Can the present survive the collision with the past? One-Click Blood Shadows now as worlds collide and nightmares walk the streets during the day.

My review:

I LOVE THIS STORY! This is the tale of a vampire fighting his past which is preventing him from having a future with the empath he is smitten with. This story forces them to face his past so he can have a future. I felt Miles angst. I felt Deana’s heartbreak at her grandfathers intolerance. And I felt the love of the Black Hollow community as they worked their way forward.

Safe Heart (Search and Rescue #3) by Amy Lane

Blurb:

Search and Rescue: Book Three

Five months ago boy-band lead singer Cash Harper left Glen Echo in a hospital in Jalisco… and broke his heart.

Glen’s heart is the only home Cash has ever known. He’s spent the past five months trying to find his friend Brielle and make sense of his own instincts. Now he’s ready to be a real partner and lover to Glen—but first they have to finish their original mission.

Glen is ready for Cash to walk through his door needing help, but he is absolutely determined not to let him back into his heart. Men don’t run. Cash did. End of story.

Rescuing Brielle will take the full talents of Glen’s search and rescue company, and that means Cash needs to re-earn the team’s trust. Between Bond-villain traps, snakes that shouldn’t be there, and bad guys with guns, they all have plenty to negotiate. If Cash can prove he can stay the course and that he deserves Glen’s faith, they might survive this op whole and ready to love.

My review:

I adored this book. I haven’t read the earlier books (yet) but this does well standalone. Search and Rescue pilot Glen Echo is a bit of a snarky curmudgeon. Boy-band lead singer Cash Harper is smart, a bit self-involved and emotionally stunted. Watching Glen relax a bit is great but watching Cash grow up and own his emotions is what makes this story fantastic.  I  really enjoyed this story.

License to Bite (New Orleans Nocturnes #1) by Carrie Pulkinen

Blurb:

Drinking blood sucks.

Governor's daughter Jane Anderson is used to getting what she wants. When a girls' trip to Mardi Gras thrusts her into the arms—and fangs—of New Orleans' hottest vampire, he gifts her with immortality, super strength, and a complexion to die for.

There's only one tiny problem. Jane faints at the sight of blood.

When Ethan Devereaux meets Jane, his cold, lifeless heart learns to beat again. Convinced she's his late fiancée reincarnated, he turns her, claiming her as his own. But when Jane wakes up dead in Ethan's attic, she's loud, obnoxious, and downright ornery. He doesn't know if he should kiss her or stake her, but one thing's for certain…

She is so not his long-lost love.

But Ethan turned her, so he's stuck with her. Jane has three weeks to learn the ways of the vampire and get her license, or she'll be staked. If Ethan can't help her overcome her aversion to blood, his undead life might also be on the line.

Join the supes of New Orleans Nocturnes as they lighten up the darker side of the Big Easy in this fast, steamy romantic comedy.

My review:

License to Bite is a fast paced paranormal rom-com. Despite being a little spoiled perky Jane Anderson is at heart a really nice gal. Vampire Ethan Devereaux is about as emo as they get. These two are total opposites yet perfect for each other. After finishing this book I immediately went and bought the rest of the series.

Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador world: Book 1 by Dianna Love

Blurb:

New York Times Bestseller Dianna Love has a brand new series from the Belador world for first time readers as well as current Belador fans and it’s full of explosive reveals. Dragons didn’t just show up out of thin air centuries ago and not all of them died in the Dragani War.

Atlanta hovers on the edge of chaos and pandemonium as rumors fly about supernatural beings living among humans. Deadly preternatural predators have been held in check for many years by the most formidable pantheons. One angry deadly being accesses majik of an ancient grimoire to release abominations capable of taking down the most powerful of humanity’s supernatural protectors.

As the dragon-shifter king over Beladors living secretly among humans, Daegan is tortured by having failed to save his loved ones two millennia ago when a vindictive goddess captured him. With a second chance at life, he’s vowed to protect his Belador family and destroy anyone who harms them. He’ll have to find a grimoire hidden thousands of years ago for any hope of saving his captured people and a world ready to launch high-tech weapons to wipe out unnatural beings.

The entire human race has one hope of surviving what’s coming for them, but only if fear of the unknown does not drive the humans to kill their greatest protector first.

*This is book 1 of a 9-book spinoff series for first time readers as well as current Belador fans. All 9 books will release within a year and be available in e-book, print, and audiobooks.

My review:

Treoir Dragon Chronicles of the Belador world takes us on a thrilling ride out of Atlanta and into the world of Dragons, magic and intrigue. This is an enthralling tale that starts thousands of years before Eval and her Beladors. This fast paced first installment will suck you into the dragon king Daegan’s past and a glimpse into the future. We have some familiar bad guys and a new enemy that may be even more deadly. We also are treated to some new and intriguing players. Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Immortal Angel (Argeneau #31) by Lynsay Sands

Blurb:
For almost a century, Ildaria Garcia has been on the run, a trouble magnet with a knack for taking down bad guys. Lately, her vigilante tendencies have drawn unwelcome attention to her fellow Immortals. Forced to relocate, Ildaria is supposed to lay low in a new town. Instead, she quickly entangles herself with six and a half feet of muscular, tattooed trouble.

Joshua James Simpson Guiscard, aka G.G., knows a lot about Immortals—enough to make him wary. Yet from the moment Ildaria walks into his club, he feels desire stronger than anything he’s known. Accepting the fact that they might be life mates is disconcerting. But when her past catches up to them, G.G. faces a choice—confront his demons at last, or lose a passion that’s hot as hell.

My review:
You would think after thirty books this series would get a bit stale but I have to say it never does for me. The author never fails to surprise me. This book reunites us with some of my favorite characters. Marguerite, Julius, Lucian, Mortimer, Sarah, Tiny and Mirabeau all make guest appearances.  This book features one of my favorite minor characters G.G. We met G.G. as the human with the green Mohawk who knows about immortals and runs a blood bar for them in England. He is buying the blood bar in Canada from Lucian. Ildaria may be over two hundred years old but she reads as much younger to me. That may be because she really hasn’t had a chance to grow normally as she has been on the run. But I feel for her and really like her.
This story is filled with unexpected twists and turns and I absolutely LOVE it.

Hot Piece of Ash (Paranormal Dating Agency Book 28) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

In the warm beaches of Costa Bonita, Valentina is romanced by two gorgeous men. She can’t possibly date them both at the same time, can she? It’s wrong. It’s dirty. It’s what’s gonna happen.

Alpha and beta need to find their mate before she’s sacrificed for a pirate’s treasure.

My review:

Valentina Lombardi hasn’t had the best of luck with men. Her family and her ex have made her self-conscience about her weight. Good thing for her shifters love big girls and Gerri know how to hook you up. Valentina is a gal like everyone knows; much better than she thinks. I loved watching her come out of her shell. Another winner by Milly Taiden.

Addie is back with more mystery to the page. She is even being good and leaving the mystery solving to the police. Can she help it if things keep falling in her lap? Addie’s stalker is back and escalating. Addie’s mysterious savior is back with some surprises for all.

Death by Chocolate is a convoluted tale of murder and mystery. I really enjoyed this installment. Please read the earlier books to get the most out of this one.

Blurb:

In the Phoenix club, there is only one rule; watch, don’t touch, until the powerful owner falls for his new star in this deliciously intriguing romance from USA Today bestselling author Stacey Kennedy.

It’s her choice to play his game. If she says yes, there will be more on the line than just her pleasure.

Zoey Parker has a three-step plan for revenge. First, gain entrance to the ultra-exclusive, upscale sex club, Phoenix. Second, act out her wildest fantasy in front of powerful old rivals, proving that they didn’t break her. Third, disappear and never return. The only kink in her plan? Rhys Harrington, the owner of Phoenix and the one man she needs to stay away from…

Rhys’ high-end clients pay extravagant amounts to watch his stars indulge their desires. Rhys’ only rule? Watch, don’t touch. But one look at Zoey and Rhys decides to participate in the show himself. And when an undeniable passion ignites between them, Rhys knows he wants more. Except Zoey is determined to run… and he is determined to find out why.

When Rhys discovers Zoey’s secret, he shocks her by offering his protection… and a no-strings-attached relationship. But Zoey knows there will be more on the line than just her pleasure. Because Rhys’ sizzling touch doesn’t only capture her body, it also commands her heart

My review:

Watch me is an erotic tale of female empowerment and the healing power of love. Neither Rhys nor Zoey expected what was to happen but they each brought something to the table. This book explores the eroticism of voyeurism and exhibitionism while learning to own ones sexuality. The characters were wonderful and I’m looking forward to learning more about them.

Terrific read.

Black Hollow: Through Thick and Thin by Sheri Lyn

Blurb:

Starburst has spent most of his adult life hiding. Hiding from himself, from the town he called home and from the man who’d been by his side for it all. But time is running out; Starburst has to decide if hiding behind his Unicorn is worth sacrificing the man he’s kept under lock and key before it’s too late.

Seren has stood by his best friends’ side since the day their world collapsed and left the two of them to fend for themselves. He watched as his best friend, retreated into his animal form, and never came back. Now, the clock is ticking and he’s in for the fight of his life. Say goodbye to what he could have had or fight for what he wants.

Life has never been easy for either man. They’d found solace in their friendship, but now that same friendship is being put to the test.

My review:

Through Thick and Thin is a sweet emotional story of love and learning to forgive yourself. Starburst has been in a rut of self-blame and fear to the point where it may cost him his future. He needs to let go of the past so he can embrace a future with the man he loves. I had so many feels for Seren and Starburst.

A Little Harmless Taboo: Wulf Sibling Trilogy Book 2 (Harmless #14) by Melissa Schroeder

I LOVE THIS COVER

Blurb:

Julienne Wulf has always played the good girl.

You know the type. The one who never got in trouble, unlike both of her brothers. But after a very public break-up, she’s ready to walk on the wild side and have her first one night stand. And she finds the perfect candidate. A man she never plans on seeing again.

Until they come face to face a few days later at her new job site.

But that’s okay, she can handle it, and handle the sexy former Army Ranger. No, wait, she isn’t going to handle him. She will deal with the situation like an adult.

Alek Johnson left Hawaii with a broken heart.

Fifteen years ago, the woman he loved dumped him when he signed up to serve in the military. Now, though, his family needs him. When Julienne shows up in Hawaii, they agree to work together and forget about their night together.

Problem is, they can’t keep their hands off each other. So they agree to a short fling, but they never expected their hearts to get involved.

Soon, tongues are wagging about their affair, and when someone from Julienne’s past threatens their future, Alek is determined to protect her at all costs.

Warning: This story includes a good woman with naughty thoughts, a hero who wants to help her live out those fantasies, a meddling family–on both sides, and a trip back to the islands. This is another Harmless story, so you know the drill. Ice water is recommended and the author takes no responsibility for overheating readers

My review:

Good girls deserve heat too. A steamy San Francisco one night stand turns into a Hawaiian client. Julienne Wulf is a good girl. She’s the designer for the Johnsons hotel in Hawaii. She has no idea that the guy who gave her the hottest night of her life is also her client. The heat between Julienne and Alek is off the charts hot. Can Julienne and Alek find their happily ever after in paradise?  The author knows her stuff and you get an authentic feel for the islands.  We get to see some old friends but this sizzling installment can be read alone.

Moments in Ink (Montgomery Ink: Boulder #3.5) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

The Montgomery Ink saga continues with a bonus romance between two strangers on a path of healing that leads to something far more.
Zia Clarkson thought she found her happily ever after, not once, but twice. Her first love is now engaged, and her second love broke more than her heart. Heart and soul bruised; she’s not looking for a relationship. Ever. Especially not with the uptight Meredith Legend who stars in her fantasies.
They promised each other one night of passion. And when the sun rises, they’ll walk away—even if they’re both lying to themselves about why.

My review:

Best meet cute ever! Though neither are actually Montgomerys; Zia & Meredith both have enough interaction with them to be part of the tribe. This is a fast paced intense tale that will make you laugh and cry. This is a terrific tale made all the better by the bonus scene available from the author.
