Private Wolf (Black Hills Wolves #54) by TL Reeve

Blurb:
Shawn Blu, tracker and private investigator, has come home. As a pack tracker, he’s ready to defend Los Lobos and use his contacts to find pack members and bring them back into the fold. So, when Miss Fern, his aunt, asks him to find Brienne Talbert, he’s happy to help out. What he isn’t expecting is to find his mate.

Brienne left home at sixteen, knowing she’d return to the Black Hills and Los Lobos one day. As it stands, in six months she’ll graduate with her master’s degree and there’s no way anyone will stop her now. However, when the hunky slab of wolf Shawn Blu shows up with a tempting offer—a week with her pack, no strings attached—she’s willing to reconsider her harsh stance about not going home.

When one weekend turns into a mating she hadn’t planned on, will she be able to leave it all behind and return to school, or will the call of her pack be too much to turn her back on?

My review:
Private Wolf by TL Reeve is a perfect example of what makes the Black Hills Wolves such a terrific series. Build a playground and invite other authors to play in it so you can pick up one at any point and read it stand alone and enjoy it. Shawn Blu left along with others to avoid being maimed or killed by the former psycho alpha. He went to the city and used his wolf skills to track down missing humans and that sort of private investigative work. Now he is back at Los Lobos and he has been asked to find the one woman he should have looked for first. His mate. He has known she was his mate since she was six years old but the age difference and problems with the pack had interfered till now. When he finds Brienne she is a student and still scared. Can Shawn convince her to come back to Los Lobos and to him? Private Wolf is fun with a sharp wit and elders who remind us we have things yet to learn.
