Blurb:
Karel
is haunted by the memory of the man who stripped away her sanity. Sent away to
the Alaskan wilderness by her pack Alpha, she struggles to build a new life
free of her ex. As she establishes her place as an ambassador working to thwart
the Animal Gang she finds herself growing closer to her new Beta. But every
time she feels ready to take a step forward with him the ghost of her tormentor
pushes her back. How can a dead werewolf stand in the way of her happiness?
Baz, the Beta wolf for the McKinley pack, has been
tasked to watch over a visiting ambassador who often seems locked in her own
mind. Unable to suppress his need to care, protect, and even love her, he
grapples to find the balance between his duty and his desires. With the Animal
Gang moving closer into their territory he needs her to recognize her strengths.
In order to dispel her insecurities, Baz will have
to uncover her dark past. But is Karel’s mental suffering so deep that she’ll
never be able to love him back?
My review:
First
thing, What a fabulous cover.
The Ambassador's Anchor takes place in the Diesel War world
but I don’t think you necessarily need to have read the earlier installment to
enjoy this tale.
This is a multi-layered tale of love, female empowerment and
healing. I really loved this story watching Karel grow and heal warmed my heart.
Baz is my kind of hero.
