Too Hard to Handle (Black Knights Inc. #8) by Julie Ann Walker

Blurb:
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker continues her red-hot Black Knights Inc. series in rough-and-tumble Peru

"The Man" is back
Dan "The Man" Currington is back in fighting form with a mission that takes him four thousand miles south of BKI headquarters, high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. He's hot on the trail of a rogue CIA agent selling classified government secrets to the highest bidder, when Penni DePaul arrives on the scene. Suddenly the stakes are higher, and keeping Penni safe becomes Dan's number one priority.

And this time she's ready
A lot has changed since former Secret Service Agent Penni DePaul last saw Dan. Now a civilian, she's excited about what the future might hold. But before she can grab onto that future with both hands, she has to tie up some loose ends-namely, Dan Currington, the man she just can't forget. And a secret that's going to change both their lives-if they can stay alive, that is.

My review:
I cried right along with all the Black Knights when Dan "The Man" Currington’s wife got killed. I got frustrated right along with all the Black Knights when he crawled into a bottle to drown his sorrow and I rejoiced when he pulled himself up by the bootstraps and got sober.  It has been two years since Patti died. Dan is back sober and ready to move forward. The attraction he feels for Secret Service Agent Penni DePaul is surprising and apparent in Full Throttle (Black Knights Inc. #7), But after that mission Penni goes back to Washington and Dan takes on the task of tracking down a rogue CIA agent. Now Penni is a civilian and she really needs to talk to Dan. The folks at BKI know Dans’ mission has been a bust for the past three months and are playing matchmaker by sending her to meet up with him in Peru. But just her luck as soon as they meet up the mission goes hot and Dan and company are going to need every hand on deck including Penni.  Can they survive long enough to realize they might just be each others future?
Like the others in this series there is action, adventure and love. The characters are what make each book special and this book may be the most special of them all.  Dan and Penni feel real. The secondary characters provide comedic relief and this is an all around great read for those who love romantic suspense.  Although this is part of a series it and each of these books can be read stand alone.
