Death Indoors (Target Practice Mysteries Book 4) by Nikki Haverstock

Blurb:
Di is competing in her first tournament of the competition season, but an annoying coach is distracting her and every archer around her.
When he is found dead of a heart attack brought on by Taser, then Di, Liam and Great Dane Moo hatch a clever plan to discover which of the many suspects with motive and opportunity helped the coach shuffle off his mortal coil.

A wholesome, cozy murder for every sleuth in the family

This is the fourth book in the Target Practice Mysteries series.

My review:
Death Indoors is a quick visit with Di, Liam, Moo and the gang. It’s Di’s first tourney since returning to the sport and if that wasn’t enough to set her nerves off it’s also her 31st birthday and there is the coach from hell distracting her and every archer around her. When he dies everybody has a motive. Join the gang while they compete and try to figure out who done it. Another fun addition to the Target Practice Mysteries. I will say that there is a lot of technical terms but they don’t affect the mystery and you might just learn something. I really like this series.

Tied Together (Tied Together #1) by Z.B. Heller

Blurb:
Ryan Keller had it all when he came out in high school; accepting parents, friends and his own credit line for J. Crew. His cocky attitude and good looks got him what he wanted, including samples off the man meat buffet. Then he found his favorite dessert, Brandon. But Brandon wasn’t sending out a rainbow vibe so Ryan was sent to the land that crushes dread, the friend zone.

Brandon Ford was buried so deep down in the closet that clothes from the seventies had a better chance of coming out. His anxieties of acting on his desires could keep a therapist entertained for hours. Even though he did his best to build his emotions out of bricks, it was no use against Ryan’s charms.
Follow Ryan and Brandon’s relationship from high school, to college and beyond to find out if they will be Tied Together.

Warning: No Anaconda Turtles have been harmed in the making of this book.

My review:
Sweet m/m friends to lovers.  I had a blast watching these two guys grow up. I loved that the golden boy was the bad guy for most of the book. I just adored watching Brandon come into his own and claim what he wanted and needed.  I found myself happy for Ryan too after he gets his head together. This story is sweet, funny and sometimes sad but I really enjoyed this book.

Broken Silence (Black Hills Wolves #42) by Jennifer Kacey

Blurb:
More than a decade before, when Paul was nothing but a child, fate dealt him a hand he couldn’t win. Silenced him forever for speaking out against the former Alpha, stole his destiny, and robbed him of his place in the pack.

Presley Ginger, a tiny human female, couldn’t have been further from what he expected to walk into the bar and alter his future. But he couldn’t tell her anything about his wolf or his shift. Nothing. Bound by a direct order from the enforcer to keep her in the dark, his need for her would never see the light of day. Then the moon rose above him in the presence of his mate and changed everything.

For years, in the background is where he stayed, unable to find his voice. Until his rainbow-haired mate showed up in the Black Hills—with the answer in her hands.

My review:
I loved everything about this book from the cover to the last page. Paul has been a silent secondary character in this series and I am thrilled that we get to know more about him. If this book doesn’t move you then there is no hope. Paul fell victim to Magnums madness at the tender age of 12 while trying to do the right thing. It cost him his voice and his future until a feisty rainbow haired human came into The Den and shook up his world. What can I say about Presley? She is the girl I wanted to be. She is strong, smart, confident, independent and a total hoot.  When these two meet Paul’s entire existence is rocked to the foundations and we get to see him blossom into the wolf he might have been. I read and re-read this in one sitting and will reread it again and again.

Drive (Hot Rides #1) by Sidney Bristol

Blurb:
Get your heart racing…

Blazing Miami sun. Cool classic cars. Dangerous undercover assignment. In Sidney Bristol’s scorching new Hot Rides series, the cars are fast and the romance is furious…

Aiden DeHart has a history—and secrets. His classic car garage is a front for an FBI operation. His current mission: get some evidence from a drug dealer’s ex-wife, then get out. Madison Haughton sending his engine into overdrive isn’t part of the plan, though, especially considering she might not be as innocent as Aiden thought…

Since her divorce from her sleazeball ex, Madison has sworn off bad boys, gotten some sweet tattoos, and become a star of Miami’s roller derby scene. But however fast she skates, her ex is always on her tail. When the sexy guy in the muscle car offers to help, he could be her ticket to safety—or a detour down a deadly road…

My review:
Fast cars, hot guys, danger, excitement and roller derby this book has it all.  After a slow start this book takes off and whirls you into a world where trust is a precious commodity and sex is off the charts. I love the Madison Haughton character. She has made some mistakes but has been doing her very best to overcome them. She is smart, tough and sweet. Aiden too has a past he is working to overcome and can’t afford to be as smitten with Madison as he is but love hits you when it will not when you will it. The crew is filled with fun characters I want to get to know better. Stick with it and enjoy the ride.

Necessary Risk (Bodyguard #1) by Tara Wyatt

Blurb:
Former child star Sierra Blake is making a stunning Hollywood comeback—and attracting a scary amount of attention. When her home is vandalized and her safety threatened, she knows it’s time to bring in the professionals. But from the moment she sets eyes on her indecently sexy new bodyguard, Sean Owens, Sierra’s thoughts are anything but professional…

Few things in this world scare Sean—until he realizes he’s in serious danger of losing his heart to his new client. No matter how much he wants to, Sean won’t let his feelings for the smart and gorgeous Sierra get in the way of doing his job. Because as the attacks against her escalate, crossing the line between business and pleasure could get them both killed.

My review:
Necessary Risk is the first in a new series by “new to me” author Tara Wyatt. A former child star is attacked and needs a bodyguard.  Sean Owens runs a security company and agrees to be her bodyguard despite the chemistry between them. Of course he eventually fails to keep his distance but that is fun too. Necessary Risk has a terrific set of characters and a fairly good mystery. The chemistry between Sierra and Sean is palpable and will keep you flipping pages to find out what happens next.

Taking Fire (One-Eyed Jacks #4) by Cindy Gerard

Blurb:
Betrayal. Retribution. Redemption?

Six years ago, tough-as-nails military contractor Bobby Taggart met the woman of his dreams in war-torn Kabul—a sexy, whip-smart war correspondent who approached him at a local bar, took him to bed, made him fall in love…and then mysteriously disappeared. In her wake, the terrorist leader he’d been mining for valuable intel was assassinated—then Bobby discovered his phone had been bugged. And he’s pretty damn sure he’s been played for a fool...

My review:
Love should make forgiveness easy shouldn’t it? Taking Fire is a military suspense romance with a second chance and secret baby twist.  But through it all you are rooting for Bobby and Talia to get together.  This book is filled with action, adventure, betrayal and love. It is one heck of a ride. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone just fine. I will be going back to read the ones I missed though.

Naughty Wishes Part II: Heart (Naughty Wishes #2) by Joey W. Hill

Blurb:
The award-winning author of Naughty Bits returns for the second installment of Naughty Wishes as a daring woman invites a man she loves to make the next move in a bold and sensual game for three players.

Samantha and her roommates Geoff and Chris have always loved each other. But Sam’s always wanted to turn their casual intimacy into something more. And she wants it from both men. When Sam took Geoff to the Naughty Bits erotica shop, she realized his dominant desires were just as strong as her submissive fantasies—if not stronger. But for Sam, being claimed by just one of the men she loves isn’t enough.

Now it’s time for Sam to draw Chris in, and convince him that her master/sub relationship with Geoff doesn’t exclude him. Far from it, in fact. When Chris finally sheds his inhibitions, the possibilities between the three of them go farther than she ever expected. Because Chris’s sexual nature is so overwhelming and unpredictable that he is more than prepared to take their game in an unexpected new direction.

Includes a teaser for Naughty Wishes III: Mind

My review:
Joey W. Hill is one of the smartest authors I know. How else could an “instant gratification” girl like myself fall in love with a serial romance? In this second installment Geoff and Samantha have to deal with Chris and his confusion about his place in their lives. I love that he is never mean to them no matter how hurt he is. When he finally allows himself to explore this new dynamic he is a force to be reckoned with.  I am really loving watching these three grow together.
