Salacious Attraction by Becca Jameson

Blurb:

The arrangement is simple…until things get complicated.

Brynn is barely scraping by. Even two part-time jobs aren’t enough to cover her tuition and rent. The only excitement in her life is the billionaire bachelor who comes into The Grind several mornings a week.

Asher’s infatuation with the gorgeous co-ed frustrates him. When he finds her asleep on her books in the breakroom at Edge, he decides to take action guaranteed to purge her from his system.

It’s perfect. She needs money, and he needs a fake girlfriend, but neither of them expects the chemistry that consumes them.

My review:

This is a seriously steamy fake dating tale. The author takes us into the hearts and minds of two very different people who turn out to be just what the other needs. Very enjoyable.

Dozer (Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club #14) by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Dozer messed up so badly with his club, he was sent away for three months. When he returned, his club mostly forgave him, but the rest of the city did not, and it was up to Dozer to square everything with the local Master Vampire. After doing so, Dozer is eager to put his past mistakes behind him, but the new Master Vampire takes a special interest in the werewolf his predecessor punished in a public, spectacular manner.

Owning sex slaves was forbidden under the former Master Vampire, but once Dozer realizes the new supernatural leader might not be so absolute with this rule, he begins to think of the possibilities.

And then an adorable little human steals his truck, and he discovers no one who loves her has any idea what part of the country she’s in, much less the specific city.

In the supernatural community, enslaving a shapeshifter who’s stolen from you can be considered survival-of-the-fittest, while enslaving a human is a totally different matter. But when you really want something, it’s better to plead forgiveness than to ask permission. Right?

My review:

This one starts out pretty dark but it slowly gets lighter as Dozer falls for his captive. This tale takes us into the new paranormal political structure in town and surprises are revealed.  An intriguing addition to the series.

Miss Amelia's List (Elemental Masters #17) by Mercedes Lackey

Blurb:

The seventeenth novel in the magical alternate history Elemental Masters series follows Amelia Stonehold and Serena Meleva as they navigate property acquisition, marriage proposals, and other ancient horrors in Regency England, but with the help of elemental magic

The year is 1815, and an American, Miss Amelia Stonehold, has arrived in the Devon town of Axminster, accompanied by her "cousin" Serena Meleva. She’s brought with her a list to tick off: find a property, investigate the neighbors, bargain for and purchase the property, staff the property and...possibly...find a husband. But Amelia soon finds herself contending with some decidedly off-list trouble, including the Honorable Captain Harold Roughtower, whose eyes are fixed on her fortune. Little does Amelia know that his plans for her wealth extend far beyond refurbishing his own crumbing estate — they include the hidden Roman temple of Glykon, where something very old, very angry, and very dangerous still lurks.

But Roughtower isn’t prepared to reckon with the fact that neither Amelia nor Serena are pushovers. And he certainly isn’t ready for the revelation that he has an Earth Master and a Fire Mage on his hands — or that one of them is a shapeshifter.

My review:

A delightful change of pace. Two young women from America post War of 1812 visit England on a mix of business and pleasure and of course find trouble. I loved learning more about this period in history from a womans point of view. Amelia and Serena are interesting and while this book doesn’t quite have the frenetic pace of earlier entries of this series there was enough to keep me goggeling at the world presented. A fascinating bit of intrigue.

Partridge in a Bear Tree (Renaissance Shifters #2) by Murphy Lawless

Blurb:

Work-focused, goal-oriented grizzly shifter Ashley Torben has just taken over managing her cousin's brewpub. She has plans for the struggling business, cousins to corral, and a vision to implement. The last thing she needs—or expects—is to find her fated mate. But Penny Partridge, the drummer for breakout rock band The Sixty Pix, is everything Ashley could have ever dreamed of.

Brash, organized, and enthusiastic, Penny is a woman who goes for what she wants, and she wants the gorgeous, determined-to-succeed Ashley. But Ashley can barely even look at her, and The Sixty Pix’s sudden fame interferes with any hopes Penny might have of getting the pub manager to warm up to her. Still, the holidays are coming, and maybe Christmas wishes do come true—because Ashley has a business disaster on her hands, and Penny might just be the woman who can rescue her.

As one crisis is averted, another one presents itself when Penny’s life is turned upside-down...and this time it’s Ashley who has everything Penny needs to sort things out again. It starts to look like they might have a clear path forward together—assuming they can survive their first Christmas with Ashley's huge, overwhelming family....

My review:

I didn’t realize that this was the second in a series when I purchased it. Yes, I grabbed this because I got a chuckle out of the title.  This book had me rolling on the floor laughing out loud. I cannot tell you how much I bothered everyone around me with my giggle-snorting and loud guffaws. Do Not Read This In Public! After reading this I immediately purchased OctoBEARfest (the first book in this series) and preordered Renaissance Bear.

Mack by Pepper North

Blurb:

All it takes is a glimpse of a hidden stuffie…

Mack Oliver loves his job as a server at Alfonso’s. The clientele is wonderful and the food divine. Things might be going well at work, but the rest of his life is in shambles.
High-powered lawyer, Grey Bradford spends long hours in his office. He does enjoy taking time to enjoy a good meal. When he spots a small fuzzy face peeking at him from the new waiter’s bun, something inside tells Grey to focus. Could this be the Little he’s dreamed of finding?

Addiction Warning: Pepper’s stories will touch your heart and may warm your bottom. While both sweet & spicy, the Dr. Richards’ Littles stories may contain more heat than some will find comfortable. Playing doctor with Dr. Richards can be an intense experience that borders on electrifying. The greatest risk, however, is developing an intense craving for more after reading just one. Proceed with caution.

My review:

Mack is just adorable. This is the kind of guy that just makes you smile. He is happy in his skin and knows who he is and what he wants. Meeting Grey is icing on the cake. These two will leave you with a happy heart.

They will work together to find his sister and the rogue who took her. And this time, Brady will do what he should have three years ago—unalive his father.

My review:

It’s the season for miracles and when Brady comes home to Willow Glen after running out three years ago without so much as a fare thee well to the woman who loves him he is going to need a miracle to win her back.

This is a sweet and heartwarming tale of second chances.

A Rare Gift (Kent Brothers #2) by Jaci Burton

Blurb:

With a disastrous marriage behind him, Wyatt Kent has no interest in getting involved with any woman, let alone his ex-wife's younger sister. But when Calliope Andrews hires him to build an addition onto her day care center, Wyatt can't help but notice she's a desirable woman, as warm and funny as his ex was cold and aloof.

Calliope fell hard for Wyatt the first time he walked through the door of her family's home, and can't believe her sister let him get away. He's still the star of all her fantasies, and she's determined to prove to him she's nothing like his manipulative ex. Wyatt may be all business, but Calliope sees the way he looks at her when he's supposed to be working...

It's not long before Wyatt and Calliope are keeping each other warm on cold December nights. But it's going to take a Christmas miracle for Wyatt to put his trust in love a second time.

My review:

A grumpy contractor and a perky childcare specialist. He’s sworn off women and she loves a challenge. Even if it is her sisters ex. I loved watching these two get together. Sometimes the second time is the charm. A sweet romp in the season of miracles.

Daddy's Naughty List Anthology

Daddy's Naughty List Anthology by Pepper North, Stella Moore, Raisa Greywood, Cami Carlisle, M.A. Innes and Lucky Moon

Blurb:

Good girls and boys get Daddy’s kisses. Naughty girls and boys get Daddy’s switches.

When Santa makes his list, the worst thing a naughty little one has to worry about is some coal in their stocking. But those who end up on Daddy’s naughty list have far more delicious punishments coming their way.

When these Daddies find out what kind of mischief their little ones have gotten into, Christmas Eve will no longer be a silent night…

And Rudolph’s nose won’t be the only thing glowing red and bright.

My review:

A delightful collection of age play romance during the holidays.

A Bucket List for Daddy by Raisa Greywood is a smart tale of a sheltered young woman who is encouraged to dream and finds the answer to her dreams in the arms of her smart Daddy.

A Little Christmas Booty by Stella Moore – Even Daddies have doubts and insecurities and in this sweet tale little girl Taylor asks Santa for what she wants and reassures her Daddy that she is indeed his good little girl

Connor’s Bliss by Cami Carlisle tells the tale of a strong Daddy and the bad little girl that owns his heart. I enjoyed watching these two get their holiday wish.

Daddy’s Special Helper by M.A. Innes features a little boy with trigger issues and his patience and loving Daddy. This story tore me up and put me back together. A heartwarming win.

Melissa by Pepper North introduces us to adorable little girl who has the most unique job I’ve read. She meets her perfect Daddy on an app. The holidays are going to be very happy for this little girl.

A Little Christmas Carnival by Lucky Moon takes us to a kink ranch where we meet Lulu a greeting card artist stifled in a job where she is not appreciated. We also meet a Texan businessman interested in setting up a similar place in Texas. Ben and Lulu are perfect for each other and maybe Santa can play matchmaker. I really liked watching Lulu blossom in this story.

Johnny Gun: Devils' Spawn Daddies by Victoria Saccenti

Blurb:

This Daddy will protect his little, and he doesn’t plan to ask permission. Or forgiveness…

Johnny Gun’s errand from Garden City to the club’s Dalton, Georgia chapter is his idea of the perfect ride. Hard, fast…and alone. Until a pair of sparkling emerald eyes and a laugh like Christmas bells arouses his inner Daddy Dom and complicates his simple life all to hell.

Isolde is a sweet, natural little, but so damned young, while Johnny’s on the wrong side of thirty. Plus, her father—the Dalton club’s president—will snap him like a twig. So Johnny regretfully puts her angelic perfection in his rear-view mirror. As the months go by, he gives up trying to forget her.

When word reaches Garden City that the Steel Wolves are planning to kidnap Isolde and wipe out their Dalton brothers, Johnny doesn’t wait for permission. He sweeps Isolde into hiding at a remote waterfront house, where he discovers she never forgot him, either—and passion roars to life.

But somewhere in the Devils' Spawn brotherhood there’s a snake in the grass. And no one is prepared for the violence of the poison when it strikes…

NoteJohnny Gun is book three in the Devil’s Spawn Daddies series. It features a different couple from books one and two, Cutter and Barron, but for maximum enjoyment readers are encouraged to read the series in order. Age Gap and DD/Lg dynamics included.

My review:

We knew Johnny was in over his head for Isolde since his dispatch trip to Dalton. In this book we find out what happened on that trip and how it affects him now that Isolde is in trouble. Their relationship grows despite the dangers that follow them.

This is a sweet, sassy and smexy read that is guaranteed to melt your heart.

Flirty Pucking Wolf (Paranormal Hockey League Book 3) by Jenny Fenshaw

Blurb:

What do you get when a flirty-as-puck hockey playing wolf shifter who seems to think everything is a joke is paired with his teammate’s sister who takes everything too seriously? Sparks.

Trevor

I’ve heard the gossip. The only reason I’m on the Devil Birds is because our coach is engaged to my sister. Doesn’t matter how many goals I score, how much fun I am to be around, or how hard I work, the haters say I don’t deserve to be here. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove my worth to the team, even if that means shaking my tail on national TV in a celebrity ballroom dancing competition as a publicity stunt for the team. However, I draw the line at falling for my dance partner. Sophie Mackenzie is sexy, snarky, entirely too serious, and no doubts wants things I can’t give her. And she’s my teammate’s sister.

Sophie

I’ve heard the gossip. I only have my spot on this season’s Celebrity Dance Dare – Shifter Edition because of my family connections. My mother is a judge on the original show and my twin brother is a past champion. I’m being given a chance as a favor to them. It doesn’t matter that I’m just as talented as my brother, learned everything I know from my mother, or paid my dues as a backup dancer in the show’s troupe - the haters say I don’t deserve to be here. I’ll do whatever it takes to prove I deserve my chance in the spotlight, even if it means I have to teach a hulking professional hockey player how to ballroom dance well enough to win the Platinum Paw trophy. However, I draw the line at falling for my dance partner. Trevor Carter is sexy, totally full of himself, entirely too irreverent, and no doubt wants things I can’t give him. And he’s my brother’s teammate.

We want a common goal - to win the Platinum Paw trophy and prove our worth to the haters - so why is it so hard to work together? It doesn’t matter how attractive we find each other, this is a business arrangement. We put up with each other to win the show and then part ways. We want different things, and those things are not compatible. No matter how much we secretly wish they were.

Flirty Pucking Wolf is a shifter hockey romance full of humor, heart, and heat. If you want to laugh, sigh, and swoon, not necessarily in that order, with funny, sexy shifters, this is the book for you!

My review:

I am getting a total kick out of this fun and flirty series. In this episode Devil Birds center Trevor is voluntold that he is to be a contestant on Celebrity Dance Dare – Shifter Edition to bring attention to the team.  The problem is his partner on the show is his teammates sexy sister.

Sophie Mackenzie wants win so she can get out from under her mother and her twins notoriety and recognized for her own talent.

The chemistry between these two is apparent from the start. Will the pressure from the hockey season, the dance competition, family and friends get between any chance of happiness between these two? Laugh your way through finding out.

A terrific addition to the series.

Blurb:

Following a murder and a woman’s sudden disappearance, investigations into old crimes and new collide in an alarming novel of suspense by a Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestselling author.

Detective Evan Bolton is gutted by his latest investigation. His friend and mentor, retired detective Rod McLeod, has been murdered, his body left in the trunk of a junkyard car. When McLeod’s daughter and grandson abruptly vanish, Evan knows it’s not a coincidence. Search and rescue canine specialist Rowan Wolff agrees as she and her dog, Thor, track the missing family.

My review:

A gut-wrenching investigation into the murder of his now retired mentor has Detective Evan Bolton working overtime. We follow along as he has to put personal feelings aside to work the case. Clues are few and confusing. I couldn’t put this one down.

My review:

OH MY HEART! What a delightful story. Hadley is on the spectrum. Finn has been helping her deal with lifes stresses and been totally friend zoned.

Cage (Dark Ops Daddies Book 1) by Kate Oliver

Blurb:

Troubled and lost.

They were once teenage boys with no hope for the future. Now they live a life of danger, doing things no one else in the world can do. All it took was a twist of fate to change their lives forever.

Ember
My father says I'm in danger and that he's sending me away. Once again.
With him. Cage Black.
Stubborn, bossy, hot, and he knows my secret without me even telling him.
For the first time in my entire life, I feel like I matter.
I feel like I've found what I've always needed.
It's only temporary.
But I don't want it to be.

Cage
I'm not a bodyguard.
Yet, somehow, I got sucked into protecting her.
From the second I lay eyes on her, I know I'm in trouble.
She's everything. Sweet, obedient, adorable.
I'll keep her safe.
I might even end up keeping her for myself.

My review:

Cage started out broken but has put himself together like Kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or platinum) he is flawed but beautiful.

Ember is a bit broken too. She is stronger than she knows and with the support of Cage and his family can grow into the woman she is meant to be.

This story will tug at your heart and make you smile when you are through. I really enjoyed this and look forward to getting better acquainted with Cage’s family.

It Happened at Christmas by Sandra Sookoo

Blurb:

A widow needing attachment. An earl searching for hope. A young girl wanting a family. A handful of days to change everything…

Lady Lydia Kingston has pretended for years; it was easier that way. As headmistress and owner of a finishing school in London, people trusted her because they thought she was a proper woman of the ton, except all of that was a lie, but when her sordid past collides with the present she’s worked to build, scandal follows and sends her to Scotland despite the imminent holiday season. No longer does she believe in that magic.

Jackson Ramsay, the Earl of Greystone, has no patience for what the season demands. London lost its polish and draw, neither is he in the mood for revelry or festivities and he certainly doesn’t want a woman to complicate everything. Spending the holidays with his daughter brings difficult memories, and not wanting her to be exposed to the emptiness that is the beau monde, he takes her on a holiday to his estate near the Scottish Highlands. The joy of Christmastide has long been forgotten.

Misfortune throws the earl and Lydia together, but the forced proximity of a shared road trip sparks a strong attraction between them, and a yearning for more. In the Lake District, a fierce snowstorm strands them; necessity has the three essentially playing house until the roads clear. Desire consumes the couple, but her secrets and his might just destroy the love they both desperately need and deserve before unexpected traditions can be born.

… showing that magic and miracles can happen on Christmas if they only believe

My review:

It Happened at Christmas is a spicy Regency romance that has each character hiding from their own painful pasts and decisions. A snowstorm and some unfortunate events throw an Earl, a finishing school Headmistress and the Earl’s teenage daughter together through the Christmas holidays and they each find a part of themselves thought lost or damaged beyond repair. Although this is steamy it is also heartwarming.

More Than Meets the Eye (Tiger's Eye Mystery #12) by Alyssa Day

Blurb:

A small-town mystery with laughter, kissing, mayhem, and magic

When private investigator and tiger shapeshifter Jack Shepherd has to make the biggest decision of his life, everybody in Dead End, the quirkiest town in Florida, wants to offer their advice.

But when Jack's girlfriend, pawnshop owner Tess Callahan, discovers a dead body in her garage, all decisions are on hold until Jack and Tess, with the help of their friends and family, can solve the mystery.

And did we mention the werewolves?

Because nothing will stop justice in Dead End, and sometimes it takes a Tiger's Eye to see the truth.

My review:

What would a Dead End proposal be without a dead body, a possessed mirror, an enchanted disco ball and a town full of unhelpful busybodies? Don’t know and I guess we’ll never know.  Jack has finally decided to propose to Tess (YAY!) but before he can pop the question he needs to find out why there is a dead wolf shifter in Tess’ garage.

More Than Meets the Eye is a fantastic addition to the series. It is a total gigglefest.

One in a Billionaire: A Matchmaker Romance by C.K. O'Connor

Blurb:

Lincoln Caruthers, a seasoned participant in the Billionaire Experience, is tired of the same old lavish lifestyle—until app creator Ana challenges him to live in a small town with minimal money for two weeks.

Dr. Andreana Howard is more than ready to lend a hand when her college roommate Ana calls for a favor, but she’s unprepared for the handsome billionaire who mistakenly assumes she’s a call girl upon his arrival. Stuck together for two weeks with an infuriatingly charming stranger, Andy decides to teach Lincoln a lesson—by making him work at her bustling veterinary clinic.

As they tackle unruly animals, navigate the challenges of a town grappling with gentrification, and face the aftermath of a hurricane, both begin to unearth the depths of their true selves. With Andy learning that she doesn’t have to shoulder her burdens alone, and Lincoln realizing that real life is far more enriching than his previous escapades, their time together becomes a whirlwind of unpredictability.

When the two weeks come to an end, they must confront the undeniable spark that has ignited between them. Will they choose to return to their separate worlds, or will they seize the once-in-a-billion chance to create a future together?

My review:

This delightful romp has us watching as spoiled billionaire Lincoln Caruthers gets an eyeful of how the other side lives. Veterinarian Dr. Andreana Howard, Andy to her friends gets to show Lincoln what he misses from his ivory tower. These two have insta-lust but can it turn into something more?

I laughed so hard at the mishaps and mistakes that these two (mostly Lincolin) go through. A fantastic addition to the series.

Though this is part of a multi author series each book can be read standalone.
