Mall Out of Luck (At The Mall) by Sarah Robinson

Blurb:

The end of the rainbow never looked so golden as in this standalone St. Patrick’s Day themed quick and queer novella meant to leave the reader feeling so darn lucky.

Saoirse (pronounced Sur-Sha) Walsh hails from a town of less than five hundred people in Nebraska—and she’s already left three of them at the altar. Now she’s moved to Michigan to start over as a business woman and tonight’s the opening of her bar—The Lucky Leprechaun—and, as luck would have it, it’s also St. Patrick’s Day so it’s not surprising when she finds herself charmed by one of the patrons at the bar.
Nell James believes that everyone makes their own luck, and she has no time for shenanigans. As a brilliant scientist and former foster child with a pet snake and a rooster-themed kitchen, she’s as rare as a four-leaf clover in the small Michigan town. But when she meets Saoirse and finds themselves tumbling into some unlucky shenanigans, Nell begins to realize that she just may have found her perfect match in the woman she meets at the end of the rainbow.

A sweet and sexy lesbian short story about two women falling in love at the mall.

My review:

Mall Out of Luck tells of the meeting of eclectic scientist Nell and new bar owner Saoirse. These two just seem to fit. If Saoirse’s past doesn’t mess up their chance of a future. I enjoyed this fast-paced holiday romp.

Having left the structure of Miss Castwell’s Institute for the Magic Instruction of Young Ladies behind, Sarah and her two best friends, Alicia and Ivy, hide out with the Changeling children in the countryside while they try to formulate a plan. They have no weapons, no guidance, and the Mother Book is gone. They only have each other and the creeping threat of Miss Morton’s revenant army on the horizon…

New alliances must be forged, and old friends provide what support they can, but the trio wonders who they can truly trust. They are searching for the mysterious artifact that may prove to be the undoing of the undead, after all! As the rest of magical society prepares for what they think is the highlight of Lightbourne’s endless party season, Sarah, Alicia, and Ivy throw themselves headlong into planning for the night that holds their last chance to protect the safety of the entire magical world!

Join the ladies of Miss Castwell’s in this adventurous tale of magic, mystery and, occasionally, young romance

My review:

Despite the serious subject matter I found several occasions to laugh out loud. There is action and adventure, struggles and opportunities and a whole lot of growing and changing. This book reminds you that the future is in the hands of our young and we are better for it.

The Race by Lexi Ostrow

Blurb:

When all your hopes begin in the sky.

The world is not what it once was, but Rose cannot seem to convince her mother of that. Steam powered airships, mechanical carriages, and a far less constricting type of fashion are not enough to free Rose from her mother's hand. Headed toward London and a suitor she's never met, all Rose wants to do is captain the airship her father left her upon his death. While not impossible in the new world order, it's certainly not fathomable to her antiquated mother. In order to live her dream, Rose will have to take matters into her own hands.

Two tragedies left Wyatt nearly destitute and an emotional rogue. When he hears of the big race that could win him a title and land, he's ready to push life savings on the line. Unfortunately, he had no ship of his own and no way to enter, until he meets the beautiful Rose.

Their only hope of seeing both their dreams become a reality is each other. From London to Paris and more, the duo must trust in one another if they are to win the race. Trust comes with quite a cost as adventure can easily turn deadly and losing the race isn't all they have to worry about.

My review:

Steampunk meets Around the World in 80 Days. I loved the interplay between the characters. Rose is determined to chase her dreams before she gives herself over to her controlling mother to save the family’s finances. She needs help and it appears in the form of hunky airship Captain Wyatt. The chemistry between the two is apparent from the very start. This is a fun, fast-paced romantic tale that is sure to leave you with a smile.

Wicked Trickery (Royal Bears of Sin City Book 2) by Lia Davis

Blurb:

His Royal Highness bear shifter, Rylan Artio is stuck, cut off from his magic and his home realm—cursed by Lucifer. Along with the royal three from each faction, Rylan and his brother and sister are on a mission to search for a talisman. A music box.

But finding the magical object is only one step in breaking the curse. Rylan and his siblings must find and bond with their fated mate. That’s harder than one would think because fated mates are a once-in-a-lifetime kind of thing.

However, Rylan met his mate years ago, but she seems to always evade him. It’s a good thing that Ry is a persistent man. His patience paid off.

Now that he has Tessa under his roof, he isn’t going to let the trickster goddess go. Tessa Turner is his and she’ll soon find out what it means to tangle with a bear.

Tessa is half trickster god, half human. It’s her humanity that saved her from the curse. Well, saved her isn’t quite right. She may have her magic at full strength, but her mate is a bear prince who must claim her as one of the steps in restoring his magic.

It seems the Fates think she has run from her destiny for long enough.

There’s more at stake than her insecurities about mating and her trust issues. She isn’t going to let the devil play god. If that means mating with the gorgeous bear prince and facing her past to get the talisman back, then that is a sacrifice she’s willing to make.

Besides no one ever dies from falling in love. Do they?

My review:

This story is supposed to be Rylan’s but is more about his mate and why they haven’t finalized the bond yet. Tessa is a terrific character with a raft of issues but with Rylan’s love she manages to work her way through some of them in their race to find the music box. Can’t wait to read the conclusion in Wicked Truth.

Lemon Chiffon (Little Cakes #2) by Pepper North & Paige Michaels

Blurb:

Welcome to Little Cakes, the bakery that plays Daddy matchmaker!

Daisy Galante adores hanging out with the Littles at Blaze until she meets creepy member Leo. While escaping the pretend Daddy’s unwarranted punishment, she is rescued by her friend and dungeon master, Tarson.

Stern, ex-military cupcake baker, Tarson Kirkwood, is enchanted by the delicate floral shop owner. His attempts to remain friends only are squashed that night at the club. When his newly claimed Little is in danger, he’ll reveal that his nickname Teddy Bear disguises a fiercely protective grizzly side.

Little Cakes is sweet and satisfying series, but dare to taste only if you like delicious Daddies, luscious Littles and guaranteed happily-ever-afters

My review:

DD/lg isn’t my kink but I love watching people find their own kind of happiness. Watching Daisy and Tarson find their way together was truly satisfying. Daisy blooms under the care of her Teddy Bear.

Texas Daddy's Helping Little (Texas Cowboys Daddies Little series Book 5) by Alice Newgate

Blurb:

She’s been watching him but doesn’t feel ready for a daddy. He’s been waiting to be seen…

TRISH
I’ve been at Camp Little Refuge the longest.
In all that time, I haven’t been interested in having a daddy.
But tragedy strikes the farm and I have to tap into a part of me I hide.
Cliff’s been here as long as I have and I watch him from the sidelines.
I didn’t know that he has been watching as well.
Our paths keep crossing and everyone wants him.
Is it finally time for me to open up?

CLIFF
Camp L.R has been my home for five years now.
I’ve seen the littles go from one to twenty.
I’m a daddy, but I haven’t found a little that’s right for me.
During the crisis on the farm I’m forced to interact with the littles more than I do.
Then I see her. I really see her.
As we try to save the farm I find myself getting closer and closer.
Can I let go and trust her?

Texas Daddy’s Helping Little is a hot, short, sexy Age Play romance featuring two consenting adults who are the perfect match for each other. It includes some DDlg elements, some moments of suspense, lots of lust and love, and a Happily Ever After you can root for. Enjoy!

My review:

Texas Daddy's Helping Little has the farm in dire straights as the weather is killing the crops. Cliff comes up with a way to save the farm but its going to take everyone pitching in. Trish comes up with a way to help Cliff save the farm but its going to take someone getting bitten in the butt to get these two to see that they could be perfect for each other.

It was painful watching these two dance around each other but glorious to see them find each other and the possibilities of their relationship.

Pits and Pieces of Murder (A Barkside of the Moon Cozy Mystery Book 7) by Renee George

Blurb:

A blizzard, a body (or two), and another mystery to solve.

When Lily Mason and her friends go on a winter holiday to a pet-friendly mountain resort, no one expects murder to be on the weekend’s agenda. Things get twisted, when Lily and company discover the victim is no victim, and the suspects all have a reason for wanting him dead.

When a blizzard strands them all on the mountain, and a guest goes missing, the Moonrise gang kicks their investigation into high gear. They will have to pull out all the tricks if they are to have a snowball’s chance of solving the murder, before the killer can claim another victim.

My review:

Lily, Parker, Smooshie, Elvis and the rest of the gang are back on vacation. The gang find themselves embroiled in a murder investigation while snowed in at a ski resort. This fun cozy takes us on a twisted ride to solve the murder of the most hated man at the resort. I loved seeing Lily and Parker so happy and laughed at Smooshies’ silly antics. A terrific addition to the series.
