Zero Trace (The Arsenal #4) by Cara Carnes

Blurb:

Don’t get noticed.

Zoey “Zero D” Danson thought it was an easy rule to follow. For years she toiled in cubicle 12A of the NSA’s data farm compiling security briefings and Intelligence reports. But she put her neck on the line and burned a dirty government operation to keep a covert ops team alive.

Now she’s “one of them.” She’s not a nameless, faceless civilian anymore. She’s part of The Arsenal—and in way, way over her head.

Trust no one.

Gage Sanderson recognizes a threat when he sees it, and the newest geek in The Arsenal’s back office is trouble. She’s smart, secretive, sexy, and everything he shouldn’t want. They risked their necks to keep her safe, but she’s hiding something and it’s up to him to figure out what.

He’s sworn to never trust another crew at his back, but his team is worth the risk. He won’t make the same mistake twice—even if it means killing the only woman who’s ever made her way past his defenses.

My review:

I just listened to this book and it might just have been better the second time around.

This book will tear you up! I LOVED IT! Zoey “Zero D” Danson is my kind of heroine; smart, nerdy with a good heart and a great sense of humor. Life has not been kind to Arsenal agent Gage Sanderson but that is about to change. This story teaches them each a different definition of family and team. Zero Trace is a terrific addition to the series.

Mac (HC Heroes #1) by Donna Michaels

Blurb:

She’s too sassy…he’s too alpha…but sometimes fate provides what you need, not what you want.

Awarded a medal for a mission that almost turned disastrous by betrayal, Levi “Mac” McCall leaves Delta Force and his poor judgement behind. Determined to move on, he gives 110% to his new investigation company…except whenever his brother’s sexy sister-in-law is near. The sassy woman followed him from central Texas and is a distraction Mac doesn’t want. So why the hell can’t he get the hot kiss they shared out of his head?

Stefanie Davis did NOT follow that stubborn wall of muscles to Harland County. She relocated because of work, and thanks to endorsements from his father and his cousin, she has enough clientele to open her own graphic arts business. Too bad it’s near the sexy as hell security expert whose kiss is as amazing as it is dangerous…to her own good.

Before long, their off-the-charts chemistry leads to more embraces than arguments and has Mac considering a new mission: Prove to Stefanie that sass and alpha are a perfect match..

My review:

Mac is the first in a sexy romantic suspense series by the fabulous Donna Michaels. This story features two people with trust issues brought together by family and then chemistry. I liked watching them fight their attraction for each other but I loved watching them give in to it.  Romantic suspense and terrific characters. A terrific start to a wonderful series.

I'm With Cupid: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Valentines Day Novella (Witching After Forty) by Lia Davis & L.A. Boruff

Blurb:

Ava Harper’s life has taken more twists and turns over the last few months than a mountain highway. It started when she arrived back home in Shipton Harbor, Maine. She wears many hats: Part-time bookstore clerk, part-time author, necromancer in training, full-time caretaker of a ghoul, soon to be girlfriend to the town sheriff. She’s still in denial of the latter. Now she has to add neighbor to Lucifer himself to that list.

Fine. Whatever. She can make her peace with living next door to the devil. But then, when she’s finally out on a first date with the hotter-than-sin local sheriff, who shows up to crash the date?

Luci himself. And he has a date of his own.

To add to all the crazy in her life, she answers her door to find an animated skeleton standing on her doorstep, hoping she can help him find his murderer.

What else can go sideways this Valentine’s Day in Shipton Harbor?

My review:

Have you read A Ghoulish Midlife? You should it’s fantastic. This story takes place right after and emphasizes the madness that is now Ava’s life and takes us along for the ride. Ava’s first date with the hunky sheriff goes wonky when Lucifer invites himself and his date along. It actually works out really well but like everything in Ava’s life right now is totally off the wall. This story had me rolling on the floor laughing and wanting the next installment asap.

Ozzy (The Drummonds Book 4) by September North

Blurb:

Book 4 in The Drummond Series: For Mature YA readers

Two girls, one Drummond. Who will win the battle for Ozzy’s heart?

Hi, I’m Ozzy. I’ve spent my entire life wanting a girl just like my Aunt Audrey. When Raven shows up she is eerily just like my aunt in many ways. Raven flipped a switch in me and now that it is on, I don’t know how to turn it off. That is until a cheerleader I’ve had a crush on for years, Tamsyn, decided to start speaking to me. Raven is different and complicated. Tamsyn is sweet and likes 80s rock music. What is a drummer to do when I’m in love with two very different girls?

I’m Tamsyn. I’ve loved Ozzy since our freshman year when I met him. He was so into his music and I was so nervous around him I just...couldn’t speak. Now, I had to compete for his affection, and Raven is not fighting fair. How far am I willing to go to win his heart?

I’m Raven. I just moved to Virginia from California and met Oswald “Ozzy” Drummond. He is way better than the cyber relationships I have had online. I’m determined not to fall in love with anyone. Not to let society, or Ozzy’s crazy mom, tell me that my behavior is bad because I’m a girl. It started out as friendship with benefits, but it turned into something real, and lasting. I love Ozzy. I might have to love him enough to let him go.

My review:

Ozzy is the 4th in the Drummonds series by September North. Reading the previous books is a should do before reading this installment. Ozzy is an angsty tale of a good guy torn between two girls.  One is quirky and dark the other is a smart, sweet girl who has crushed on him for years.  I like that Ozzy isn’t perfect. I like that he is torn and conflicted. I am so grateful I am out of high school. I was less than thrilled at the ending as I’ve got so many questions and will have to wait for the next book for answers. I can’t recommend this series enough. Fantastic!

The Nightshade Guild: Mated to a Mage by Cassidy K. O'Connor

Blurb:

An assassination in the Elven Court; an orphaned infant Princess; and twelve mages who have sworn to protect her.

The Elven court has tasked the Nightshade Guild with keeping Princess Ameria protected until the assassins are found and the Kingdom is stabilized. Isla Ryan has no experience with babies and is less than thrilled to take the first shift. When word gets out that the Elven Kingdom is vulnerable, everyone wants to get their hands on the orphan.

Killian Stewart arrived in Ireland desperate to heal from the PTSD he suffered after three tours of duty. He expected a quiet time on the Cliffs, instead he ends up on the run from creatures he didn’t know existed, with a woman who claims the Supernatural is real, and an infant that can make it rain.

Together, they’ll criss-cross Europe and try to stay one step ahead of the creatures hunting the Princess.

Buy the first book of the Nightshade Guild Series now! A new mage story will be released every month in 2021

My review:

Mated to a Mage is the first in a multi-author series that looks to be fantastic. In this first installment we meet Elven Princess Ameria who was horribly orphaned and is now being placed in the care of the Nightshade Guild a group of magical beings with special skillsets.

In this installment America is given into the care of the Mage Isla. Isla has vowed to protect and care for the Princess and will do it even if she can’t get the child to stop crying. Ameria has decided that the American next door would make a good woobie and will only stop crying for him. Thus setting up his introduction to the Supernatural. This is a really sweet, often funny, race against enemies that will fill your heart and make you smile.

Bring on the next installment
