Stalking His Mate (League of Gallize Shifters #3) by Dianna Love

Blurb:
New York Times bestseller Dianna Love's Gallize shifters are back with an action packed adventure, a sexy love story and a twist no one saw coming.

Having spent her life as a captive, Siofra escapes when her power surfaces to save her from an attack, which exposes her as a nonhuman. All she wants to do is find her brother who is also being hunted, then vanish to live free from shifters. That was the plan and it would have worked if a golden-eyed jaguar shifter hadn’t stepped between her and a dangerous jackal, throwing a major kink in her escape when she falls for the sexy protector.

Rory didn’t choose to be a jaguar shifter and is determined to not mate even though he faces death from the Gallize mating curse if he doesn’t. The end may come sooner than he expects when his jaguar loses the ability to heal them, but that doesn’t prevent Rory from racing in to save a young woman from a vicious predator. The moment Siofra is in his arms and his power reaches out to hers, he struggles against the primal pull of the one woman he’s drawn to as a mate. Even if he didn’t feel the need to end his bloodline, she hates shifters.

None of that will matter if Rory fails to stop the deadly Black River Pack from using Siofra in a grisly experiment when she’s caught in a trap.

My review:
First look at that luscious cover. The story inside is just that terrific. This story is an emotional thriller that will keep you wondering what will happen next. And the author surprises you at every junction. I’ll admit it took me a bit to warm up to Rory but once I got to know him I fell right along with Siofra. Block off some time because you aren’t going to want to put this down.

Close to the Bone (Widow's Island #1) by Kendra Elliot

Blurb:
FBI Special Agent Cate Wilde is back home on a remote Pacific Northwest island when she gets the call: a teenager’s skeletal remains have been found on a nearby island.

Together with Tessa Black, a childhood friend turned local deputy, Cate confronts dreary weather and bleak leads to make sense of the death. The complications pile up as Cate is distracted by the coroner on the case—and by nagging memories that draw her twenty years into the past. The remains suggest eerie similarities between this victim, and Cate and Tessa’s friend Samantha, who disappeared when she was fourteen.

Cate finds herself up against closemouthed locals, buried town secrets, and even her own heart. As the case unravels, will she be able to cut through the fog and find justice for the missing and the dead

My review:
Close to the Bone is a quirky murder mystery that takes place in a wonderfully weird place filled with delightful individuals. Our hero, FBI Special Agent Cate Wilde, is home on medical leave and is on hand to help. This is a quick escape and totally enjoyable.

Stone Obsession (The Cursed Seas Collection ) by Julie Morgan

Blurb:

Dark magic doesn’t die easily. Luckily, neither does she.

In a world racing toward extinction, the Siren Amaryah fights for survival. Under the plagued waters of Antarctica, she faces sea creatures mutated into predators by an old, dark magic. The frozen lands above are riddled with danger, as well, where Pirates, Magicians, and Islanders all vie for power.

A single Legacy Stone could change all that—it could bring back the world Amaryah lost. And she plans to find it. After all, if there’s nothing left to live for, she has nothing left to lose. Or so she thinks.

Dark magics have ways of fighting back, and she’ll face more threats than ever before—not least of all the possibility of a long-forbidden love.

A love she may have to sacrifice in order to save her world.

Stone Obsession is a standalone paranormal romance featuring Sirens, Humans, Pirates, and Mages in the Charmed Legacy shared world series.

My review:

I LOVED THIS STORY! There is so much going on in this wonderful tale I just want to gush. This story features terrific world building, scary monsters, wicked villains, nasty politics and a strong determined heroine. Ariel has nothing on Amaryah.

Radek (Star-Crossed Alien Mail Order Brides #6) by Susan Hayes

Blurb:
What do you do when your friend’s planet runs out of women? Join them for takeout, of course.

Radek is a prince with a problem. He wants to see the galaxy, but an ancient law forbids any member of the Romaki Dragon Clans from ever leaving their planet. So, what’s a Romaki Snow dragon to do? Defy the law, hop a ride with a friend, and head for the far side of the galaxy, that’s what.

As the Pyrosians prepare to claim their mates, all Radek has to do is sit back, enjoy the party, and keep one little promise – no shifting into a dragon while he’s visiting Earth. What could be simpler?

This book contains a sassy chef whose dreams just went up in flames and a runaway prince who came to Earth looking for answers - and found his destiny instead.

My review:
I loved Radek. I could so get behind his frustration with the status quo. Especially as it wasn’t working for him. Piper is perfect for him and his planet I just know she is going to shake things up. A delightful addition to the series but can be read standalone.
