Wilde at Heart (Wilde Security #3) by Tonya Burrows

Blurb:
He has everything under control. Except her.

Reece Wilde put everything in his life on the backburner to protect his brothers and their struggling company, Wilde Security. With a major contract on the line, Reece can't afford any mistakes...like getting caught in a red-hot, X-rated moment with wild child Shelby Bremer, who's more trouble than he can handle. Now he's being blackmailed.

Shelby's mile-long impulsive streak gets her in more trouble than she'd like to admit. Between her sister's wedding, her coffee shop set on fire, and getting down and dirty with the groom's brother, things are definitely coming off the rails. With both their careers and their safety on the line, Reece is determined to keep them both safe...even if it means a Vegas-style shotgun wedding.

But gambling on a wild card—and a wild soul—is risky...and sometimes, it can get a guy killed.

My review:
Opposites attract in this exciting new book from Tonya Burrows.  Reece Wilde is running two businesses and is a total workaholic. Shelby Bremer is Eve’s younger sister and a bit of a wild child. She shouldn’t get to Reece but she does. With her tattoo’s and colored hair she isn’t likely to be an asset to him at work but she is exciting to a man who lives for the job. There is more to Shelby than meets the eye. Yes she has made some questionable choices in the past but she has been cleaning up her act. Not that anybody looks past her looks. These two end up married in Vegas to protect Reese from a blackmailer who has incriminating pictures of them together. The longer they are together the closer they become. Can the pretend marriage become real?
I am a fan of this author and thoroughly enjoyed this read. Shelby and Reece felt real even when they are put in over the top situations. There is so much to enjoy in this book. Hunky brothers, suspense, mystery and love.

Adrian: August (Mystic Zodiac #8) by Brandy Walker

Blurb:
He’s a tattoo artist who can’t resist a shiny gem…

She’s a college librarian who loves a good book…

What happens when two completely different worlds collide? Will they sink into the depths of bitter rivalry or learn to soar together and fall in love?

My review:
I will admit to falling for the cover. Then I met Adrian & Li-Mei and just knew that fate had gotten it right this time. The tension between these two is off the charts but they take it slow knowing that they have a long time ahead of them and want to be sure. Adrian gets a new definition for the word gem and Li-Mei may find a world outside of her books.

Death On the Range (Target Practice Mysteries #1) by Nikki Haverstock

Blurb:
When a competitive archer is murdered at the training facility where Di has just started working, she's thrust into the middle of an unofficial investigation before she can even settle into her new life. With her roommate Mary and a Great Dane named Moo, she begins to unravel the mystery around the death of the victim, but can they solve the case before they find themselves in the killer's sights?

My review:
Death On the Range is a sweet cozy mystery filled with a set of quirky secondary characters. Di is starting over after a messy split with her husband. She has moved to Wyoming to work with a college friend at a new shooting and archery facility. There is of course the obligatory murder of the woman nobody liked thus setting us up with lots of suspects. Everybody has secrets. But we do at last find out whodunit and all in all this was a fun read.

Blind Commitment by Virginia Nelson

Blurb:
Figgy Berlin made a name for himself in the art world with his gripping use of color and fearless use of impressionistic style in abstract art. One drunk driver later and he's left blind--he can't see color, he can't see his work, and most of all...he can't see his wife.

Through the terrifying days and nights of not knowing if he'd ever wake again, Mariana stayed by his side. When he fought to reclaim his body, she was there. Now he's back home and recaptured his art, but he's yet to reclaim his bride.

Can this couple find love even though he can't see how much his rejection is hurting her?

My review:
Short, sweet, sexy tale of life changes. This story tackles a couple finding their way after a major life change. Figgy Berlin is an artist who was blinded in an accident with a drunk driver. He has found his way back to art but has yet to reconnect with his wife Mariana even though she has been by his side throughout. Mariana wants to reclaim their physical intimacy but Figgy has to be willing. Can they find their way back into each others arms or is Figgy going to use his blindness to push away the woman who loves him.
I adore Mariana. She is sweet and kind but no pushover. Just the kind of woman a man with Figgy’s artistic temperament needs. I hate Figgy’s name and I felt like the story was too short. I would have loved to known how they were together before the blindness. But all in all I really enjoyed this story.

Wicked Lies (Men of Summer #2) by Lora Leigh

Blurb:
HE'S TEMPTING FATE
Jazz Lancing is the stuff of legends. A mountain-bred ex-Navy SEAL with rugged dark looks, a tall muscled frame, and gorgeous blue eyes, he can have any woman he wants in the state of Tennessee. Except Annie Mayes. The beautiful, innocent teacher refuses to fall for Jazz because she's hiding a secret more powerful than her own temptation ...

SHE'S IN TOO DEEP
Jazz knows that Annie isn't who she says she is-that she's lying about her identity, her past, and her motives. But can she be trusted? Little does he know Annie has been craving his kiss for years, dreaming that Jazz would take her in his arms and save her from her demons. But telling Jazz the truth could put both of them in peril. In this deadly game of danger, deceit, and darkness, is desire worth the risk of losing...everything?

My review:
Lora Leigh gives us another scorching hot alpha male in this second chance romance. Jazz didn’t realize he was in love till the girl of his dreams was killed with her mother. Since then he has been with a lot of women but none have touched his heart. Annie Mayes is the new kindergarten teacher and she has resisted Jazz’s charms for the two years she has been in town. Turns out she has secrets. When her life is threatened Jazz steps up to keep her safe. It doesn’t matter that she has been keeping herself safe for the past 10 years. When they killed her mother and almost killed her. Can Jazz give Annie her life back? Can Annie give Jazz his heart back?
After a slow start this story takes off and flies. The sex is hot. The danger is real and the mystery keeps you guessing.
I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review.

Summit of the Wolf (Silver Wolf Clan #4) by Tera Shanley

Blurb:
An Unbreakable Bond

Morgan Carter is a claimed werewolf. Only her mate, Greyson Crawford, has the right to protect her, and to love her. But that hasn’t stopped rival packs from challenging Greyson’s claim. Morgan is the last silver wolf—the only female with the ability to produce werewolf offspring, which means there are many who would defy pack law to make her their own.

An Unstoppable Evil

When war comes to the Silver Wolf Clan on the eve of The Summit, Morgan and Greyson have no choice but to fight for their kind. With the arrival of an ancient enemy, the two realize that the war has only just begun, and to survive the greatest threat they have ever faced, they must learn to trust each other again…

My review:
Summit of the Wolf is a strong, dark extremely powerful addition to this series. Morgan Carter is a Silver wolf. A breed long thought to be extinct. Female silver wolves were able to birth baby werewolves. The only other way to become a were is to be bitten and changed and that is iffy at best. Because of this the Silvers were hunted by horny males and vampires. The vampires killed them to keep the population levels equal. In this book Morgan and Grey are now mated but it hasn’t stopped males from coming to challenge Grey for her. They take a chance and go to an enclave where they hope the Elders will help them get some sort of semblance of peace. At least have them order the horny buggers to back off.
I recommend reading the first 3 books before reading this. This can be read standalone but you will get a whole lot more out of it if you read the first 3 first. This is a short intense ride. We are introduced to some new characters that could make this series very interesting in the future. I look forward to seeing where the author takes us next.

The Skeleton in the Closet (Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries #2) by Angie Fox

Blurb:
From New York Times bestseller Angie Fox, the second book in the new Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries

A haunted library is no place for a girl who can see ghosts, but when Verity Long stumbles on a dead body in the middle of the main reading room, she has to believe someone…even a dead someone…must have witnessed the crime.

Her ghostly sidekick Frankie warns her to stay out of it. The very alive, very handsome deputy sheriff, Ellis Wydell, inadvertently places her directly in the middle of it. And her ex-fiancé, Ellis’s brother, is back with an agenda of his own.

Undaunted, Verity presses forward, uncovering scandalous secrets, long-forgotten ghosts, and a shocking trail of clues that places her directly in the path of a killer.

My review:
The Skeleton in the Closet is a tale filled with history, murder, politics, romance and plain goofiness. Verity Long can see ghosts especially with the help of ghostly mobster sidekick Frankie. When Darla is killed in the library late at night and Verity’s sister is arrested. Verity will brave every ghost in town to find out the truth. With the help of sexy deputy sheriff, Ellis Wydell Verity will find out secrets that shake the very foundation of her little town. Long held beliefs will be shaken and enemies will be made. In other words another day in the life for Verity. I love the possibilities of this series and Angie Fox has a gift of humor and snark and a tender respect for southern living. I will say that I love Lucy Verity’s de-scented skunk. I look forward to watching Verity and Ellis work out their relationship and see what Beau & his mother have to say. Although this is book 2 in the series it can be read stand alone.
