My review:
If you love shifters like I do I am sure you will adore this box set as much as I did.  Not just wolves or bears but shifters of many different types in many different situations written by some fantastic authors.  Most of these are full standalone stories that will have you looking for more. This set introduced me to some “new to me” authors who I can assure you I will be backlist binging on for some time to come.

Love Beyond Sight (The Outsiders #4) by Rebecca Royce

Blurb:
When Eden Roan awoke in a mental hospital, she was nearly discovered by a demon, but a comforting voice in her mind offered safety. The voice told her she was his but that they could never, ever meet. Now, Eden is more and more convinced that the voice is just her imagination. It can't possibly be her destined soul mate. Or can it?

Samuel Quinn, damaged by the demon when he was child, doesn't want Eden to see the real him. Luckily, his powers allow him to hide using others' features as his own. But when Eden needs him, Samuel will have to step forward to save her even if it means showing the real him.

Can there be love without sight? Or will the demon finally have them all just where he wants them?

My review:
Wow!  This story covers a lot of ground.  I recommend reading the others books before this as it will add to your understanding and enjoyment.  Well written and fast paced this is Sam and Eden’s story.  We didn’t know much about either till now except that Eden was rescued from the mental hospital and Sam was thought to be dead.  Rebecca Royce masterfully takes these two damaged characters to a point where they can fall in love but I will admit there were times I almost threw my Kindle as Sam was acting a bit selfishly and don’t get me started on Leo.  We are given a brief glimpse of future outsiders and I am looking forward to learning more about them.

Kneel, Mr. President by Lauren Gallagher

Blurb:

Sworn to have their lover’s back, front, or any other side that needs covering.

Secret Service agent Kent Sinclair, head of POTUS security, thought himself prepared for every contingency. Until the First Lady—a woman who barely tolerates his presence—approaches him with a request that startles the hell out of him.

Carlene Broderick is frightened. With the weight of the country and impending war on his shoulders, her husband, James, is buckling under the strain. The key to helping him cope is the name he calls out in his sleep—and it’s not hers. It belongs to his fellow ex-SEAL team buddy. His ex-lover. Kent.

Without hesitation, Kent plunges into treacherous emotional territory, only to realize it’s not really him that James needs. The Commander in Chief needs to give up complete control in the bedroom.

To relieve that much pressure, Kent and Carlene must work together and declare a truce that rapidly heats up into something more. Something that leaves James caught deep in forbidden territory—torn between his beloved wife and the man he’s never stopped loving.

Warning: Contains three forty-somethings discovering whole new sides of themselves, a rejuvenated marriage, and plenty of kinky fun. All brought to you by an ex-SEAL in a wetsuit, a bisexual President, and a First Lady with a tattoo on her ass.

My review:
I am so conflicted.  I loved this story but had a serious problem with the fact that it was about the President of the United States.  I know that is what made it work but I would rather have had it been the President of another country.  Respect for the office if nothing else.  But other than that this was a well thought out, well written tale of love and submission.  I love how it shows that submission doesn’t mean you are a weakling.  I also love the fact that it involved older characters.  All in all a good book if you can get past the fact that POTUS

Damsel In Danger (Danger Incorporated #1) by Olivia Jaymes Review and contest

Blurb:
Ex-DEA agent Jason Anderson is trying to rebuild his life after being held prisoner by a sadistic drug cartel. With a little help from his friends, Logan Wright and Jared Monroe, he’s starting a new business and moving forward. He only thinks about the past during the long, dark nights. It’s then that he feels most alone.

Brinley Snow has moved into her dream home. It’s everything she’s wanted and more although she's facing a mountain of renovation work. Luckily it came with the bonus of a sexier than sin neighbor.

One sultry summer night, Brinley gathers up her courage and asks Jason to join her for dinner. They’re instantly attracted to one another but the evening quickly goes downhill as she ends up in the interrogation room of the local police. An unknown dead man had her address clutched in his hand. The authorities – and Jason – think she’s the key to finding a cold-blooded murderer.

With a first date like that Brinley’s not sure she’ll survive a second. Then again she’s never met anyone like Jason. He’s not the typical boy-next-door. He’s all man. And with a little luck, he could become all hers.

They just have to stay alive long enough to catch a killer.

My review:
This book grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go.  Romance, suspense, action, adventure and love. Another terrific tale from the fantastic Olivia Jaymes.  Hot heroes, smart heroines and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Infiltrating Her Pack (Black Hills Wolves #20) by Dominique Eastwick

Blurb:
The mysterious and intimidating lone wolf, Z, has returned to Los Lobos. Descended from a long line of gifted yet secretive shifters known as Infiltrators, his people are the spies of the shifting world, rarely seen and harder to track.

Ripley Greystone has a big problem—her pack is Alpha-less and a local coyote band knows it. The safety of her pack rides on trusting Drew, the new Alpha of the Black Hills Wolves. But, admitting the reason for needing his help isn’t something she’s quite ready to do.

Drew senses there’s more to Ripley’s request to join his pack than what she leads him to believe. There’s only one way to know for sure—send an Infiltrator to spy on Ripley and her pack.

Forced to infiltrate her pack to discover the its hidden secrets and protect it from the coyotes determined to claim the she-wolves for themselves, Z finds more than he expects—all the while fighting the need to claim Ripley as his mate.

My review:
A delightful surprise.  I’ve not read this author before and wasn’t sure from the blurb how this was going to fit in with the Black Hills Wolves.  But the author made it work and we have fun while she does.  I love watching to strong individuals fall for each other.  True these wolves have the chemical reaction from finding their “True Mate” but that only gets them together. Making it work is the fun part.  I got a kick out of the secondary characters as well.

Risk It (Rule Breakers #4) by Jennifer Chance

Blurb:

Jennifer Chance’s Rule Breakers series turns up the heat as a wealthy playboy and a beautiful con artist engage in a high-stakes game of seduction.

As dominating in business as he is in bed, Rand Sterling Winston, IV, always gets what he wants. And even before he realizes that she’s scammed him into paying triple the cost for her friend’s painting, he wants Dani Michaels. To catch her alone, Rand demands she personally deliver his purchase. The attraction between them is immediate and electric, and he knows she feels it, too. So when the part-time petty thief rebuffs his advances, he gives her a choice: a night in jail or an evening with him.

Despite her checkered past, Dani has never met someone like Rand: brooding, intense, and oh-so tempting. Only a man with a broken soul could make losing control feel this dangerous. Still, when Rand proposes a no-strings, no-holds-barred affair, Dani’s more than a little intrigued. It’ll be the trickiest con she's ever run and a chance to indulge her steamiest fantasies—nothing more. But as their encounters grow increasingly intimate, Dani uncovers a vulnerable side to Rand’s steely exterior . . . and opens her heart to the ultimate risk.

My review:

When I offered to read and review this book I didn’t know it was part of a series.  It made no difference as far as I can tell.  This book stands and falls on its own.  I was looking for a hot sexy read and this book promised to fit the bill.  It is a hot sexy read.  Just not for me.  I am not a big fan of folks who play games.  These two damaged souls from opposite sides of the tracks have more in common than sex but I had a hard time getting into it.  This might be for you if you like dialogue driven give and take, spoiled rich boys and bad girls.

The Seduction of Widow McEwan by Melissa Schroeder

Blurb:

This is a Reissue

A younger man bent on seduction. An older woman determined to resist. A love that cannot be denied.
Jameson McEwan is widowed, but happy with her lot in life. After suffering through an arranged marriage to an older man, she’s had little romance and very little experience with men—other than ordering them around on her ranch.
Seth Conner has harbored a bit of an obsession for Jamie since the tender age of sixteen. Now that she’s widowed, he has sensed her reluctance to wed again and has kept his distance. When she says she’s marrying another man—strictly as a business arrangement—Seth decides he’s waited long enough.
Jamie never expected to find herself in bed shivering with desire, especially not with Seth. One taste of a night filled with passion, and she finds he’s as addictive as liquor. But their age difference and her responsibilities hold her back from considering a future with him. Seth refuses to take no for an answer.
As the dance of seduction heats up, trouble brews. Someone is poisoning Jamie’s cattle, setting fires on her ranch. Someone is hell-bent on making sure Jamie and Seth never find happiness, someone who will stop at nothing—including murder.

My review:

This book is a well written, fast paced can’t put it down kind of read a wonderful story of romance in the old west.  This has it all; the young widow, the bad man who wants to marry her because her ranch is doing better than his (but not because of anything she has done in his opinion), and her younger brothers sexy best friend and partner who has had a crush on her forever. It is tough in the old west.  Tougher if you are a single woman but Jameson McEwan has been thriving since her husband died but some folks can’t stand the thought of a woman succeeding.

I loved everything about this book from the cover to the end.
