Blurb:
Book Two of the Rock Bottom Duet
When a magical necklace chooses you, surviving supernatural society becomes the
least of your problems.
Silver thought learning about vampires, werewolves, and dragons was challenging
enough. Then a freaking magical artifact decided to make her its new owner —
and suddenly she's caught in the crossfire of Julian's fight for freedom.
Julian has been owned for nearly three centuries. First by an opera
company, then by his vampire maker. His current owner, the local Master
Vampire, devises a path to his freedom — but the price is steeper than either
he or Silver could have imagined.
Silver has survived everything supernatural society could throw at her,
and she's navigated a world of fangs and claws on her own terms. But when
Julian's quest for freedom demands she participate in the trial-by-fire, she
discovers that loving someone means being willing to fight battles you never
saw coming.
The road to Julian's independence demands sacrifices that will test them
both. Silver must provide control far beyond anything she's ever been
asked to give. Julian must prove he can become a man worthy of freedom — and of
Silver's love — even when it means enduring punishments that push him far past
his breaking point.
In a world where vampires play by different rules and demons make tempting
offers, some relationships are forged in fire. Silver and Julian's love
will either emerge stronger than ever, or be destroyed along the route they are
required to travel.
The hurdles seem insurmountable, but both are determined to walk this path
together.
Happily ever after was never going to come easy.
Warning: Contains explicit scenes, BDSM elements, supernatural power
dynamics, and the kind of love worth fighting Hell itself to claim.
My review:
Bottoms Up is a brutal, dark continuation of Julian and Silver’s
story. In this installment we find out more about the magical necklace that has
claimed Silver. We also witness Julians efforts to be come a freed man. We also
learn more about Silver’s brother Benji. And just as things start to settle we meet
Atlas a masochistic jaguar shifter. This
book is not for the faint of heart. Vampire society is cruel and to get through
the tests Julian and Silver make Gavin look soft.
