Finding Bryce (Green Brotherhood: SEAL Team XII Book 1) by Debra Parmley

Blurb:

If you could have great sex with a hot man who didn’t know who you were, a man you would never see again, would you do it?

Pippa’s co-worker asks this question and convinces her to attend a costume Halloween party. Pippa has never done one-night stands. She doesn’t even date. Because she is hiding from her crazy ex-husband on the other side of the country and hoping he never shows up to kill her. The last time she’d seen him, he’d had his hands around her neck squeezing tight. Before she’d blacked out. After she came to, she knew she’d need to leave this house, and him forever, she’d vowed to stay away from men. Because they often weren’t what they seemed.

But the chance to have one night to remember behind the safe anonymity of wearing a mask combined with the fact she hadn’t had sex in over a year, created a situation where she didn’t stop herself from saying yes.

Tanner “Diesel” Taylor is a SEAL one of the most responsible men on the planet. So responsible that when his mother died while he was in high school, he helped his father run the garage and supported his four siblings. When he joined the SEALS, he took on the responsibilities that went with the job and vowed he’d not marry and settle down. He wasn’t ready to support a wife and kids and instead would focus on the job and seeing the world.

Neither counted on meeting each other. Neither counted on the best sex of their lives. Neither counted on making a baby.

He asks for her number but being afraid he’ll turn out to be just another bad choice in men she refuses to give it to him.

Two years later he finds her and his son. But he arrives on her doorstep too late. Her ex has been released from prison and is furious that she’s had another man’s child. A son that should have been his. When Tanner arrives, Pippa and his son have already been abducted by a man who just served time in prison for felonious assault and nearly beating a man to death in a bar. Now Diesel must get them back.

Pippa, abducted by her ex, who seems even crazier than before, is terrified for herself and for her baby.
She is out of hope and doesn’t know a SEAL is coming to her rescue.

My review:

This is a quick delight. A hunky SEAL and a young woman just looking for escape share a Halloween fantasy that results in an accidental pregnancy. These two are perfect for each other if only fate can lead them back to each other. This is total brain candy.

WRECKED: HAMR Brotherhood FALCA Black Ops Team Romantic Action Adventure by Dianna Love

WRECKED: HAMR Brotherhood FALCA Black Ops Team Romantic Action Adventure by Dianna Love

Blurb:

Hallene Clarke spends her time finding missing children for other people but now she faces the most dangerous hunt of her life – to rescue her sixteen-year-old half-sister. The girl has been kidnapped, but the ransom isn’t money. She’s being used as a pawn to ensure a deadly attack happens.

Samuel “Party Man” Leclair never found his place in life until being brought into the HAMR Brotherhood and put on the FALCA team. Now his future is in jeopardy after risking his life to help an unknown female operative, Hallene, during the op that failed to extract a kidnapped senator.

Hallene offers him a chance at redemption and will lead Sam to the kidnapper holding the senator if he’ll help her rescue her half-sister and keep his team out of this. This enemies-to-lovers romantic adventure is fraught with assassins, unexpected twists, wild action, and sizzling romance as Sam and Hallene discover the attack planned to strike the US is to force two superpowers into war.

This is a spinoff from the Slye Team Black Ops Romantic Action Adventure series where HAMR Brotherhood was introduced in
Kiss The Enemy.

My review:

Action! Adventure! Love! Wrecked is the first in a new spin-off series featuring hot guys and smart women. This is romantic suspense at its finest. The author has done her homework and takes you deep into a world filled with undercover operatives, secret missions and a ton of intrigue. I loved that Hallene was not a shrinking violet. Hallene is smart, driven and tough but when there’s family involved even the best lose objectivity. Sam is everything you want in a hero.

Bongo & Delilah Break Daytona: B&D Capers, Book 1 by Winnie Winkle

Blurb:

When you mess up your ecosystem to the point you’re on the menu, it’s time to call in the calvary.

Specifically, Earth. Blleburbk arrives outside a Pennsylvania bar and hops in the back of a pink pickup. Bongo, whose husband decided he wanted to live (and poop, apparently) in the woods, left her. Since a timberland apron life is not Bongo’s goal, it’s a good thing her bestie, Delilah, surprised her with a Florida road trip. One slight issue: they end up as ground zero for Earth’s first contact. Now they’re helping Blleburbk, renamed Billy Bob by Delilah, who’s halfway to stealing their hearts. He has to find Earth volunteers without blowing his cover, and Delilah has the solution.

A few quarts of makeup later, Billy Bob is ready to debut as a drag queen.

An attack by a super creepy dude puts them on the run, and Billy Bob is running out of time. Help, in the form of an Elton John impersonator, a shrimp boat captain, and the queen of the Crazy Cute, Vivian Vavoom, may not be enough as Mr. Creepy finds them, and this time, he’s not farking around.

Can they get it together and meet the mother ship? Will Billy make it out alive or be so much dissection fodder? Tune in for their first redonkulous caper.

It’s Space~Snark~Booze time!

My review:

Check your brain at the door, remove all breakables from the area and make sure you won’t disturb anyone; then kick back and enjoy this fun filled laugh out loud romp. I giggle snorted my way through this tale of accountants, rednecks and aliens. ET has nothing on Blleburbk. And amidst all the laughter there is a really important story about sustainability and acceptance. I adored this book and can’t wait for future adventures.

Cowboy Wolf Christmas by Kait Ballenger

Blurb:

For fans of sexy paranormal romance comes a novella from Kait Ballenger's action-packed Seven Range Shifters series...

Grumpy Grey Wolf, Silas Buck hates Christmas and everything that comes with it. As duty to ranch and pack force this cowboy wolf to confront his ghosts of Christmases past, his newfound packmate, Cheyenne, is saddled alongside him for the ride. But when a sudden snowstorm forces them to spend a heated night together, Silas may find Cheyenne’s sunshiny ways warm his long-frozen heart...

My review:

I LOVED this story! This is a quick grumpy/sunshine tale that left me with a silly grin. This story proves that acceptance is an aphrodisiac. Both Silas and Cheyenne feel ostracized for different reasons but find acceptance and love in each others arms.

A Trip with Trouble (Mountain Lodge Mystery #2) by Diane Kelly

Blurb:

The second in a charming and engrossing cozy series from Diane Kelly, A Trip with Trouble proves that in the Blue Ridge Mountains, life in the fast lane could end in a crash.

When the ladies of the Dangerous Curves Motorcycle Club take over the Mountaintop Lodge for their annual autumn ride along the Blue Ridge Parkway, Misty Murphy couldn’t be more thrilled. Every room is full and the adventurous women even invite Misty and her assistant Brynn to join them on a ride to admire the colorful fall foliage. Hotel handyman Rocky Crowder is happy to keep an eye on the lodge for the day, and the ladies set out for a fun ride on the scenic road.

The skies are clear, the air is crisp, and the leaves are gorgeous. But what starts as a perfect ride turns worrisome when the tail gunner – the last rider in their group – fails to show up at the Craggy Gardens overlook. Cell phone service is spotty in the remote, mountainous area, and the group is unable to connect with their friend. Might the missing woman have simply run out of gas? Or is something far more sinister afoot?

The ladies are determined to locate their ride or die, and Misty is equally determined to help them. But will they be able to solve the mystery when the scenic route seems intent on hiding its secrets?

My review:

A Trip with Trouble is a delightful vacation for the mind. The author takes you on a delicious autumnal leaf peeping tour of the Blue Ridge Mountains and mixes in a bit of mystery along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed this getaway.

Bittersweet Promises (Montgomery Ink Legacy #1) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

New York Times Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan returns with the next generation of Montgomerys and a second chance romance bound in memory and heat.

Leif Montgomery fell hard for Brooke Alder in Paris when they were young, and he thought their fling was just an early taste of what life had in store for him.

But life had other plans, and he didn’t find that kind of love—or see Brooke’s face—for years.

Until he visits his cousin’s house and sees who’s moved in next door.

They’ve both changed: she’s a struggling single mom, he’s running from a past he’s trying to hide while opening up a new tattoo shop. Yet the moment he sees her again, he knows she’s the one for him.

And with one look, Brooke knows that she can’t fight the desire that pulled them together before, despite the skeletons in both their closets.

My review:

We met Leif as a scared ten year old boy now he is a grown man continuing the family business as a gifted tattoo artist. When he sees the girl he once loved and lost moving in next door to his cousin his life is knocked for a loop.

This is an amazing tale of second chances and love done as only author Carrie Ann Ryan can do. Leif has always been a sweet soul and I was thrilled to meet him again as an adult. I look forward to Nick and Lake next.

Werebear’s Mail Order Mate is a bear shifter romance that will appeal to lovers of paranormal, urban fantasy, shapeshifters, contemporary, and, of course, spicy, sizzling, hot romance.

Tanner is a single dad with a secret. Chloe is his adorable and precocious ten year old daughter. These three have issues to overcome to become a family but I loved their journey.

My review:

If you want a quick smexy PNR, Milly Taiden is my go-to author. This story does not disappoint. Three young witches get together and move to Misfit Bay, Louisiana. They discover that shifters are real and come in several flavors. Break out the ice water cause this one will make you sweat.

Boss Daddy (Daddies Inc. #1) by Lucky Moon

Blurb:

Billionaire Montague Manners has everything. Except his Forever Girl.

Daisy Grove is meant to be on her honeymoon. Instead, she’s fearing for her life.

After running away from the altar, she tells a white lie to get a job. Now she’s PA to the formidable, drop-dead gorgeous, and completely infuriating
and completely infuriating boss of Daddies Inc.

Grumpy workaholic Montague hates distractions. When he meets the inconveniently beautiful and ridiculously cheerful Daisy, he’s wary. She’s too attractive to be around but too tempting to ignore.

When
dominant Montague finds out Daisy’s been keeping her true self from him, it’s time for discipline. Will she be able to take what her Daddy Dom boss doles out?

And if she’s a good girl for him, can he
keep her safe?

But what happens when she discovers he’s guarding the biggest
secret of all?

Daddy’s Inc is a multibillion-dollar corporation dedicated to giving Bigs and Littles everything they need for their lifestyle. Every story can be read as a standalone, every Daddy is different, and the heat level is off the charts.

Trigger warning: contains an emotionally abusive / controlling ex -- but a truly happy ending for the heroine and her new man, as always!

My review:

Daisy is adorable. She is just trying to get by. Freshly out of an abusive relationship she takes a shot and gets a job working for a grumpy guy who can’t keep a copy writer for love nor money. Daisy brings sunshine wherever she goes. Which will win sunshine or gloom. Enjoy finding out.

Wanted in the Midlife (Fanged After Forty #6) by Lia Davis & L.A. Boruff

Blurb:

Now that the council has been dealt with, things should be coming up roses for Hailey and Jaxon. Dealing with the corruption within the vampire council was supposed to return their lives to normal, but it turns out nothing is normal in the life of a Bond Girl, and it isn’t long before she realizes that downtime isn’t in the cards for her or her new extended family.

When Jax gets devastating news, he and Hailey will be in the fight of their lives. It turns out hunters know
vampires aren’t extinct, and witches aren’t on their hunting list anymore. And the matriarch of the hunters? She’s fierce, not taking any ish, and wants every last vampire dead.

Convincing the hunters not to attack, or figuring out how to be stronger, faster, and deadlier than ever, are the only options Hailey and Jax have.

When the council puts a bounty on vampire rogues, Hailey’s who they’ll count on to bring them all in with the help of her trusty friends and brother, who suddenly thinks he’s going to be the best bounty hunter the vampire world has ever seen.
Yeah, this is going to go well.

If that wasn’t enough, they still have to figure out what to do about Paige and Claudia, Kendra burning the candle at both ends, and Goldie’s missing family. A little shifter has no business being raised by vampires, right?

Something clearly has to give, but they’re determined that it won’t be them. After all, they’re a team, and they’re going to face everything together because that’s exactly what teams do.

My review:

I loved it! Have you read the others in this series? No? Do so now or you won’t get half the enjoyment from this book also you should check out the Witching After Forty series because that’s where we met the hunters and because it’s hilarious. If you have read all or some of the above prepare to dive in and enjoy.

Unholy Murder by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Lieutenant Veronica Woods is a tiger-shifter who’s been on a three-week whirlwind vacation with her vampire. How many history geeks get to be shown around Italy by an ancient Roman general?

Josef is madly in love with his tigress. He’ll do anything to keep her safe, but the killer she’s after is someone that even Josef’s two thousand years of military and security experience can’t find.

Meanwhile, bodies are piling up. Human, but without skin. Ronnie is a cop first, but when it’s a supernatural killer, she’ll have to work outside official channels to catch a murderer.

* We first met Ronnie and Josef in
Unhallowed Murder. It is recommended you read it before reading Unholy Murder.

My review:

One of my favorite couples is back. Ronnie and Josef are the Eve Dallas and Roarke of the paranormal world. This story takes place four years after Unhallowed Murder which I reread before tackling this. I love the way they’ve grown as characters and as a couple. This story follows Ronnie as she tackles a freaky serial killer that spans both the human and paranormal community. We get to see a lot of old friends in this story. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Final Heir (Jane Yellowrock #15) by Faith Hunter

Blurb:

The stakes couldn’t be higher in the newest novel in the New York Times bestselling, pulse-pounding Jane Yellowrock series.

Jane Yellowrock is the queen of the vampires, and that makes her a target as she fights to maintain control and keep peace in the city of New Orleans. She has enemies at every turn, because vampires live forever, and they keep their grudges alive with them. That includes the Heir, the vampire sire of the Pellissier bloodline, which gave rise to Leo Pellissier himself—Jane’s old boss and the former master of the city.

With the Heir and all the forces of darkness he can muster arrayed against her, Jane will need all the help she can get. She’ll find it in her city, her friends, her found family, and, of course, the Beast inside of her.

My review:

WOW! I’m exhausted. Jane and the gang close off several lingering questions in this book but they bleed to do it. A LOT. The changes are staggering and cost Jane physically and emotionally. Strap in, buckle up and hang on for a heck of a ride.

When Life Gives You Vampires by Gloria Duke

Blurb:

A paranormal Dumplin' for adults, When Life Gives You Vampires is part a journey of body positivity, part a story about learning how to accept love at face value, and part a hysterical romcom told through a paranormal lens.

Twenty-five year old Lily Baines is used to waking up hungover, overweight, and underemployed. Waking up with fangs? Not so much. But when it turns out a little light necking has more serious consequences than she ever imagined, Lily's determined to get to the bottom of it.

Tristan hadn't meant to turn Lily—it's against vampire law—but now that she's here, they need to team up to save their hides. They strike a truce, fending off other vampires, Lily's work-rival-turned-slayer, and her mother's tone-deaf romance and fitness advice—all while Lily faces down her insecurities about the fact that she lives in a diet-obsessed world with a body that will never age, never die, and never change. Can she learn to love the (plus size) woman she'll be forever more?

My review:

I found this to be a fun journey featuring a plus size young woman with body issues and an old-fashioned guy haunted by issues from his past. I really loved Lilys best friend Cat. I could relate to Cat when she flat out tells Lily that she is more than the skin she inhabits and to learn to love herself no matter how much she weighs. There were times I wanted to Gibbs slap both Lily and Tristan. But ultimately, I enjoyed their tale.

The Experiment (The Experiment Series Book 1) by Piper Mackenzie

Blurb:

Note : This book has a ‘cliffhanger’ ending. Some situations will not be resolved until later books in this series.

He’s so out of my league. ~ Katie

It was for my own good.
Help I didn’t want, but desperately needed.
I was too young to close myself off from life, wrapped in depression, clinging to a wine bottle.
Go to work, go home. Drink. Repeat.
So a few weeks of immersive group therapy was what my counselor strongly suggested. A summer help-camp, if you will.
Sure, okay. Whatever.
Now here I am, the anti-social wino in a social experiment. I’ve made one friend–and one enemy. And then there’s
him…I can’t stop the attraction I feel toward him, even though I don’t stand a chance. He’s a movie star, for pete’s sake! A movie star who apparently is as drawn to me as I am to him…

She’s too good for me. ~ Grayson

I don’t want to be here.
Court-ordered therapy.
Yeah, so I’ve made some
(public) mistakes. I’m just here to do my time and then back to Hollywood. The last thing I want is to be the main attraction at the nuthouse, but the stares and whispers and giggling flirtations start the minute I walk in.
All except
her. I’m not sure she even knows who I am. It’s the most refreshing, liberating…real, thing I’ve felt in years. And the more time I spend with her, the more I realize what I’ve been missing in my life.
It’s like she was made for me.
Yet, I don’t deserve her.
And there’s something odd going on here. I don’t even know how to explain it, but it’s like a vice is tightening around us. Like we’re all chess pieces in a game we weren’t aware of. I’ll be glad when we can leave this ‘experiment’…

My review:

This book is a total mind bender. A psychological experiment that will have you questioning everything. The characters are fully fleshed, and you will recognize the types. Katie and Grayson are adorable. I can’t wait for the next installment.
