Rise from Ashes (The Ash Court Book 1) by Dagmar Avery, K. Margaret

Blurb:
Senara Chaos’s life has been turned upside down since Queen Verity declared her a princess, head of her own house, and the return of the Chaos bloodline. The past year has brought challenges and surprises, as well as new responsibilities and opportunities.

Now with Verity’s decree that Senara and the Ash Court pass sentence on the Light Court, she has her hands full with not only her own court, and the caretakership of the original Sithen, but with finding out exactly what the Light Court is up to.

And it won’t be easy. There are surprises around every turn, and the girl that never thought to be in the limelight will learn that it’s not that she isn’t ready for the world...but the world might not be ready for her.

My review:
Senara is the “good girl” princess. She blushes easily and has panic attacks. Her self-esteem needs work too. She is slowly adding to her guard and they are helping her become the princess she needs to be. The thing is she is stronger than she knows and I think we are all going to be surprised by her. In this book she expands her guard by one and gains her sigil. This book leaves you with an odd cliffhanger that will have you screaming for the next installment.
