A Year of You by A.D. Roland

Blurb:
The con was supposed to be simple - get in, get the money, get out. But when Mattie meets the family that rejected her as an infant, she becomes tangled in a dark family mystery that someone will kill to keep unsolved.

As she struggles to earn the reward offered to her by her wealthy maternal grandmother, her past threatens to destroy the tentative new life she is trying to build with West, a passionate, moody musician. To save the man she loves, she has to reveal everything. But revealing her past will cost her everything. Mattie must make a choice, one that will either kill her or turn her into the very thing she hates the most. Will she choose her past...or her future?

My review:
Wow! This book will take you to some scary places. You think you have family issues; they are nothing like what Mattie has had to deal with. Life has handed Mattie one bowl of shit after another. So yes she has hardened her heart but she isn’t cold. When West manages to sneak past the barriers he doesn’t do right by her. He is torn by the ghost of her sister, the girl he thinks is her sister and Mattie. Watching them work it all out will drag emotions out of you that you weren’t aware you had.
A Year of You is not for the faint of heart. There are some very dark moments. This story kept me turning pages and kept me up way past my bedtime.
