My review:
I have conflicted feelings about this story. There were parts I loved and parts I absolutely
disliked and very little in between.
Lennox Averdeen is a bit naïve but likeable enough when she
isn’t vacillating between her old boyfriend and the guy who has been chasing
her since she was 12.
Garrett Anderson was Lennox’s best friend in college until he
broke her heart by marrying another. His wife has died and he is convinced he
can only love once but now that he has reconnected with Lennox he doesn’t want
to want her yet he doesn’t want he to be with anyone else.
Ian is Lennox’s neighbor and has loved her since she was a
kid but has always had to play second to Garrett and/or the memory of Garrett.
Nox is Garretts son and Lennox’s Godchild. She instantly falls for the boy but even he
isn’t enough of a reason to put up with Garretts push me pull you routine.
Gran, Cash, Jules, Dillion, Paulo and Sherriff Stan the
exterminator are the side characters that make this story worth reading. They provide comic relief and honestly save
the story.
This is the first in the series and I liked it enough to give
the second book a try since I assume it will be about one of the secondary
characters and I loved them.
