The Job (Fox and O'Hare #3) by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg and The Shell Game (Fox and O'Hare 0.25)

Blurb:
He’s a charming con man and she’s a dedicated FBI agent, and they’re about to drive each other crazy . . . again!

The FBI had one demand when they secretly teamed up Special Agent Kate O’Hare with charming con man Nicolas Fox—bring down the world’s most-wanted and untouchable felons. This time it’s the brutal leader of a global drug-smuggling empire. The FBI doesn’t know what their target looks like, where he is, or how to find him, but Nick Fox has a few tricks up his sleeve to roust this particular Knipschildt chocolate–loving drug lord.

From the streets of Nashville to the back alleys of Lisbon, from the rooftops of Istanbul to the middle of the Thames, Nick and Kate chase their mark. When they find themselves pitted against a psychopathic bodyguard and a Portuguese enforcer who gets advice from a pickled head, they decide it’s time to enlist some special talent—talent like a machete-wielding Somali pirate, a self-absorbed actor, an Oscar-winning special effects artist, and Kate’s father Jake, a retired Special Forces operative. Together they could help make this Fox and O’Hare’s biggest win yet . . . if they survive.

My review:
Another exciting adventure with Kate and Nick.  If you mix:

 It Takes a Thief

 or White Collar

and Mission Impossible

with Janet Evanovich’s sense of humor and Lee Goldberg’s mystery and adventure you get Fox and O'Hare.  This series just keeps getting better and better.  This is a fast paced, easy to read, mind bender that will leave you tired but smiling.  There are some genuine laugh out loud moments that will keep you going through the tense times.  I like that Kate and Nick seem to be loosening up a little.  I think I am a little bit in love with Kate’s dad.  I truly hope this ensemble cast continues to entertain us for a good many books to come.

Con man Nick Fox is after Garson Klepper’s golden Peruvian relics. For Fox, convincing Klepper to hire him as security for the relocation of the relics to the Getty museum in L.A. was easy. Problem is, Fox wasn’t planning on Klepper also enlisting the help of the FBI. Fox also wasn’t planning on being paired up with rookie special agent Kate O’Hare. She’s smart, she’s tenacious, and when she’s conned, she holds a grudge. Life for Fox and O’Hare will never be the same again.

My review:
This is a prequel to the Fox and O’Hare series. It tells how Nick & Kate first met and like the rest of the series is loads of fun.

  1. You're just about on target with the mix... I love IT TAKES A THIEF but I don't watch WHITE COLLAR, so I'd say the recipe is...

A spoonful each of IT TAKES A THIEF, MISS CONGENIALITY and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE with a dash each of THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR and REMINGTON STEELE.
