Taken (Shadow Creek Shifters #2) by Madison Johns

Blurb:
Katlyn settles into life at the Wyoming ranch of Shadow Creek, but now that she’s pregnant with the twins of her mates, mountain lion shifters Brendan and Chase, she’s more than a little nervous. How will her mates handle it when they learn she’s pregnant with twins, and will it change their intimate encounters? She hopes not, since she prefers to be taken any way possible.

Tessa’s transition to vampire has not been easy. The blood bank supply doesn’t suit her tastes and the medication that helps with the cravings has more side effects than it’s worth. Forced to feed her hunger on her own, Tessa goes searching away from Shadow Creek. Instead of hunting a wayward wild animal, she mistakenly attacks the new werewolf alpha, Raphael, who easily fends her off and hauls her back to Shadow Creek with his friend, Seth, along.

The arrival of the alpha and the mystery man sets Katlyn’s mind spinning as Brendan clams up and it’s clear that he and Seth have a history—one that her mate is not willing to discuss with her. Will Katlyn be able to help Tessa and sort out the mystery surrounding Seth’s appearance in Creeksboro, or does he pose a real danger to them all?

My review:
Taken takes up where Katlyn (Shadow Creek Shifters #1) leaves off.  Katlyn is happy, pregnant and in love with her two shifters.  Tessa is trying to adjust to her transformation to vampire.  I didn’t like this book as much as the first.  The dialogue was stilted and the story wasn’t as full.  This book could have been split between the end of the first one and the beginning of the next.  I like Katlyn and am intrigued by Tessa but this book just didn’t do it for me.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
