The SEAL Who Kissed Me (SEALs of Coronado Book 12) by Paige Tyler

Blurb:

A woman out for revenge.

Former Russian spy, Kira Babin, has covertly spent the last ten years looking for her younger brother Mikhail––and hunting the man who kidnapped him. When she recently got her chance to defect to the United States, she took it. Away from her Russian handlers, she can search on her own. The last thing she needs is unwanted attention. But when she finally gets a lead, she ends up in the same alleyway,
the same gunfight, as the sexy SEAL who fills her dreams and makes her heart beat a little faster––the one she’s been avoiding. It’s not that she doesn’t want Colt––she does. He’s the most amazing man she’s ever met. But if he knows the real her, he’ll walk away, and that’s something even this hardened spy couldn’t survive.

A man who can change her mind.

Petty Officer Colt Hughes never expected his latest mission to land him beside the beautiful blonde he’s been trying to get close to for months. Last he knew she ghosted him. So why was the sexy ex-spy now engaging terrorists in dark alleys? Since Kira saved his and his Teammates’ proverbial bacon, he intends to find out. But when the man who killed her parents and abducted her brother turns out to be a person of interest to the CIA, suddenly SEAL Team 5 is helping Kira with an international manhunt. Posing as newlyweds suits Colt just fine because that means alone time with Kira, but the more he gets to know her, the more he sees beyond her beauty to the incredible woman inside. He’s falling hard and fast––if only she’d trust him.

Kira never expected help from Colt, much less from a SEAL Team. But when she has to choose between trust or revenge, life or death, love or heartache…will she listen to her heart or her head?

My review:

This is a tension filled romantic thriller that will leave you shaking your head. Former Russian spy Kira has one mission, find her baby brother and kill the guy who took him. Unfortunately, she is going to need help on this mission and who better than the SEAL’s she helped out of a jam.

Navy SEAL Petty Officer Colt Hughes has been dreaming of Kira since they met, working with her is going to test his skills in ways buds never did.

The tension between Kira and Colt is palpable. Trying to see if there could be something between them in the middle of an op is nigh on impossible. A word no SEAL has ever surrendered to. This is a wonderful addition to the series.

How To Date A Mothman by Becca Hearst

Blurb:

Bernice “Bernie” Evans has always been a bit obsessed with the weird and paranormal. So far her interests have served her well. She has a popular podcast, and successful YouTube channel, where she gets to talk about everything and anything odd.
After a cryptozoological consultant ridicules her on a live stream with thousands of viewers for still believing in cryptids like Mothman when there is scientific proof debunking his existence, Bernie becomes determined to prove her wrong. With her co-host and best friend, Aubrey, and popular paranormal YouTuber Kit, Bernie sets out on a mission to West Virginia to get video evidence.
In the small town of Uncertain, West Virginia, Bernie meets local bookshop owner Everett Ridenour who reluctantly agrees to help be their guide in the woods he has grown up in.
While balancing preparing for her upcoming live tour and hunting for elusive cryptids, Bernie might just find more than a local legend in the woods of West Virginia.

My review:

How To Date A Mothman by Becca Hearst is a sweet and funny paranormal romance. Our heroine Bernice “Bernie” Evans believes in the magic of the paranormal and spends her time exploring the possibility. Our hero bookseller Everett Ridenour has secrets to hide but a decided fascination with Bernie. These two are sweet and a perfect match. I truly enjoyed this book and look forward to more by this author.

The Vapes of Wrath (A Nora Black Midlife Psychic Mystery, #8) by Renee George

Blurb:

My name is Nora Black, and I’m celebrating my BFFs midlife matrimony!

Gilly is engaged, and I have invited a couple of friends to help us celebrate her bachelorette vacation in wine country. We are leaving work behind for three days of good food, good friends, and good fun.

Or so I thought. When the youngest of our group, Tippy Davenport, gets flirty with a local musician, his girlfriend is less than pleased. Some might even call her reaction homicidal. But when the woman turns up dead during a hiking tour, our vacation turns into an investigation.

It doesn’t take a sommelier to sniff out the sour grapes surrounding this murder, including the astringent scents of old money, family intrigue, jealousy, and greed. I’ll have to employ my psychic nose to catch a killer and get the bride back home to Garden Cove in time for her wedding.

My review:

I loved this latest fiasco in Nora and the gangs lives. All Gilly wants is to get married and start her life with Scott and maybe a few strippers at her bachelorette party.  Tripping over a dead body isn’t her idea of a fun time at her bachelorette get away. This romp has Nora smelling her way through a winery and some fun times with Easy. I laughed my way through this book.

Gryphon in Light (Kelvren's Saga Book 1) by Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon

Blurb:

Set in the beloved and New York Times bestselling world of Valdemar, this 1st book in a new trilogy returns to the tales of the majestic gryphons.

On the border between Valdemar and the deadly Pelagirs Forest, the gryphon hero Kelvren returns from a near-fatal self-sacrifice that won him the approval of Valdemar’s ground troops, but caused a diplomatic crisis.  Frustrated by his lack of a hero’s welcome, Kelvren is talked into helping with an expedition by his old friend, Firesong.

Firesong struggles with his own age and mortality, and he intends to solve a vast mystery at the center of legendary Lake Evendim as his crowning achievement. Just getting the multicultural fleet underway is a challenge, but what awaits them is a situation none of them could expect.

My review:

Gather ye round to hear the start of an epic quest filled with fantastic beings, magic and danger. In this tale we rejoin some old friends and make some new friends on their way to confront the unknown. An unknown that may very well destroy life as they know it.

This is why I love Mercedes Lackey. Great characters, fantastic world building and a tale that sucks you in and makes it so you don’t want to leave.

Pinstripes (The Whitetide Streak Book 1) by Marie Long

Blurb:

Personal trainer Diesel Reed desires a mate who can meet the insatiable demands of his inner tiger. Unfortunately, none of the women he trains spark a challenge.
Until Carina Parker, his curvaceous new client, walks into his gym.
Carina has given up on conventional love, thanks to her lousy luck with dating apps. Her sexy new trainer flutters her heart, but he's way out of her league.
Diesel thinks Carina is the perfect woman he is looking for, but Carina seems to be training hard to impress someone else. Frustrated, Diesel turns to his sister, Cammy Reed, for advice.
But instead of answers, Diesel's encounter with his eccentric kid sister leaves him reeling in shock.
A threat from Diesel's past traps Carina in the middle of a deadly family feud. With love and honor hanging in the balance, Diesel is faced with a bitter duty or happiness?

My review:

Sometimes you need your bratty little sister to force you to make your move. Diesel is a hunky personal trainer that Carina thinks is way out of her league. I loved how Diesel helps Carina overcome her body issues. Grrr. Tigers are better than wolves! This is a sweet and sexy romp that will leave you smiling.

Karmic Penance: An Accidental Zodiacs Story by Gracen Miller

Blurb:

As the living deity of the Karmic Penance faith, Jozie Carmichael is worshipped by its followers. To the Zodiac Enforcement Agency, she’s a Fallen, her magic too red to be anything other than evil. As a god, her will is supreme and she won’t apologize for it.

Beau Winchester is a ZEA agent hellbent on catching Jozie Carmichael, an insane cult leader. She snubs morals and laws, and any practical decency, which is dangerous in the hands of a Zodiac wielder. Especially since her selfish agendas leave a trail of anguish in her aftermath.

Then he gets lucky and collars her, discovering the Amulet of Time in her possession. But when it’s stolen from lockup, he must face the implausible idea that Jozie may not be the most imminent threat to humanity. Unfortunately, there’s no one better than her to track the item, so, he offers her a chance at redemption. Will she take his deal? Can he trust her if she does? Or will fate deliver karmic penance to him in the form of a beautiful, but maniacal Fallen?

Every book in the Accidental Zodiacs Series is a stand-alone featuring a different Zodiac. Therefore, the stories can be read in any order!

My review:

I have mixed feelings about this story. I loved seeing ZEA agent Beau Winchester taught that all is not black and white no matter what the ZEA has taught him. I really didn’t like the way this story ended. But I really liked Jozie and King and I hope that we get to see these characters redeem themselves in a future book.

Safeword: Mayday – Adding Their Fourth by Candace Blevins

Blurb:

Heather thought she’d finally figured her sexuality out, but there’s so much more to learn. Kyle hasn’t dealt with his past, and it’s long-past time he faced his most visceral of fears. Marcus has wanted his own slave — someone to love and adore and hurt — for most of his adult life. How much negotiating is he willing to do to bring the woman of his dreams under his roof? If she balks at too much of what he wants, is she really the one he’s been searching for?

Going from a threesome to a foursome is a much bigger deal than it would seem at first glance. One would think the fourth person being a slave under a near-total power exchange would make things easier, and it does in some respects, but it also complicates life in unexpected ways.

You’ll want to strap in and charge your batteries for the second half of the Safeword: Mayday duet, because this one goes to a whole mountain of unexpected places.

My review:

This installment has Marcus finding his other adding their fourth. This story is harsher and more brutal. This is not for the faint of heart. The characters are hurt in ways they’ve given consent for but oh my it gets intense. Warning there is a consensual non consent scene that shocked me. I am glad these four have found each other because their kink is not my kink but its okay because they’ve found each other.

Crimson Moon Hideaway: Protector's Heart by Robbie Cox

Blurb:

She was destined to take over her pack. He was merely supposed to protect her until she could. However, lines are crossed when they find themselves on vacation together. The only problem is, he’s human.

Emilia Brookshire is about to turn thirty, which means she’s about to take over as Alpha of the Graveridge Pack. The only thing is, she doesn’t want it, even though her family has ruled the pack for centuries.

Remy Porter was hired by her father to protect her until she took her place in the pack, and he’s done that since their death. However, now he sees Emilia in a new light, one that threatens to break the rules of her pack if he doesn’t turn away. But he can’t turn away.

With rival wolves swarming Crimson Moon Hideaway, the elders calling him to walk away, and Emilia begging to share his room, Remy is now trapped keeping secrets of the past while keeping Emilia focused on her role. To do that, though, he just might have to walk away. Stuck between his duty and his heart, Remy must make the hardest decision of his life. But will Emilia understand?

Protector’s Heart is a bodyguard, silver fox romance full of twists and turns, secrets and confessions that will keep you turning the pages

My review:

Protector's Heart is the perfect title for this story. I loved Remy’s protective instincts. If Emilia was to become Alpha she needs to put the past into the past and hasn’t done that yet. Vacationing at Crimson Moon Hideaway gives her a chance to decide what she truly wants from life. She is facing huge responsibilities and will need someone she can trust by her side.  This story had me sighing and squirming. A sweet escape.

My review:

Kade is the Enforcer. of the Shadowridge Guardians MC but to Remi it means that he is a protector and she needs one. There is a stalker leaving notes and worse for Remi. She seeks protection from Kade as her father is recovering from a heart attack and doesn’t need the stress. Taking care of Remi, protecting her from her stalker forces them to admit the attraction that has been simmering between them for years.

This is a sweltering DD/lg romance that will leave you smiling. Kade may be a burly, tattooed biker but he is a big ol teddy bear for Remi. Remi is a walking advertisement for don’t judge a book by its cover. I loved them both.

I love these guys. This book kept me laughing, thinking and turning pages. I really hope this series continues as there are unanswered questions.

Bell Bottoms and Burglary by J.C. Layne

Blurb:

Wren Chase’s life is never normal. Between her life as the head fashion writer for Posh Vogue Magazine and her secret life as a sensator, how can it be? Add to that the current BFF breakup drama, and Wren is distracted when her newest magical helper arrives in a puff of smoke…a puff of very potent smoke.

As the smoke clears and the contact high wears off, Wren’s detective boyfriend returns home to find that his apartment has been robbed. But as the investigation unfolds, they find there is more to the larceny than meets the eye.

Wren, armed with her new ghost helper, and of course, her groovy magical clothing join Travis to get to the bottom of the larceny. Is this just a run-of-the-mill robbery or is there something more sinister looming on the horizon?

My review:

Wren is back and has a new groovy ghost helper and boy is she a trip. This story has Wren and her friends, old and new, dealing with some really bad guys. D’antonio? Watching them discover who is responsible for the nasty shenanigans is a nail biting romp filled with humor and mystery. I loved this story.

This will be better if you've read the earlier two stories.

Party Crashers (Blue Ivy Prep Book 3) by Heather Long

Blurb:

From the moment I learned she was coming to our school, I had a gut feeling it would end in disaster. Out of all the schools in the world, why did Kaitlin Crosse have to choose ours? Her presence confused my brothers and created tension between them, but I soon realized my initial assumptions about her were completely wrong.

It was me who possessed the flaws of being wild, arrogant, selfish, inconsiderate, and foolish. My bad judgment call in the midst of the school’s scandal may have destroyed everything I wanted.

As the world tears Kaitlin apart, my brothers and I find ourselves trapped in a web of lies. Our mother despises her, and even our stepfather’s allegiance is uncertain. Kaitlin trusts no one, and who can blame her?

But I refuse to wait for her forgiveness or return. If I want her, I have to take action. Kaitlin needs me, and now, I know I need her too.

All of us do.

*Please note this is a reverse harem and the author suggests you always read the forward in her books. Contains some bullying elements, mature situations, and is recommended for 17+. This is book three of four in a series and the story will continue through future books.

My review:

OH MY! This installment keeps KC on her emotional rollercoaster. This fast paced installment will have you laughing, crying and screaming out loud. I LOVED IT!
