Harbored in Silence (Aspen Pack #4) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:

A witch on the run who could save the world–or destroy it with one touch

I am who they fear.

The Harvester Death Witch.

The one who holds the power of their fate in my hands.

Or at least…that’s what they whisper.

The coven has fallen. The vampires are circling our den. And if we don’t find new allies, our Pack won’t be able to fight much longer.

On my Alpha’s orders, I must find others who hide beneath the shadows for not only our protection, but theirs as well.

Only I’m not alone on my mission.

I brought Cruz back from death once before, and though I know the goddess forbids it, I’d do it again.

Because he’s my mate.

And my ending.

My review:

Dara has intrigued me for a while. The Harvester Death Witch. Such a mysterious gift or is it a curse. It saved Cruz but it is killing her. This book is filled with love, treachery and family. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster and left me with a full heart.

Taco Daddy (Daddies Everywhere) by Golden Angel

Blurb:

Tacos aren't the only thing this domineering Daddy can stuff...

Andres likes it spicy. After all, he owns and operates one of the most popular food trucks around, Rojo Fondo Tacos. And when he's done working hard, he's always ready to play. Recognizing a complaining customer at the kink club should be his cue to call it a night, but what Daddy could resist the temptation to give a bratty beauty a little extra heat?

Rita isn't impressed by Andres' cuisine, and she certainly wasn't afraid to say so... when she had no idea he was listening. The last thing she expected for speaking her mind was to find herself turned over his knee while exploring the local club scene on Newbie Night, but to Rita's surprise, Andres isn't just interested in revenge. He's actually hungry for
much more.

My review:

Rita isn’t really a brat but the filter between brain and mouth sometimes gets her in trouble. This time it may have gotten her more than she can handle.

This is a sweet and spicy romp that will leave you with a smile.

Miss Mage: Casino Witch Mysteries 8 by Nikki Haverstock

Blurb:

Three things guaranteed to turn a Mage Pageant deadly:

_Contestants willing to do anything to win
_Beautiful outfits and dazzling performances
_A missing body

When Ella goes undercover as a contestant in one of the most renown pageants in the magicking world, she's expecting behind the scenes drama--but not a backstage murder scene. With Vanessa along as her trusty assistant and the dependable and handsome Vin watching her back as head of security, she has to navigate contestants with lots to hide and pageant staff with agendas of their own, all while maintaining her cover as a mage who wants to win the crown. Luckily, more surprise friends drop in to help. And she needs all the assistance she can get because while they know that someone was killed backstage...the body has disappeared.

My review:

Miss Congeniality with magic. Monza Ella goes undercover at a magical beauty pageant and has to deal with all the angst, back-stabbing and drama plus find out who is trying to sabotage the show. And then there’s Vin and all of the mixed feelings there.

Another rollicking good adventure.

Awkward by Cara North

Blurb:

This is awkward. I’m awkward. He is really awkward. Still, we do awkward well. A second chance at a romance isn’t something I expected to find on this trip to the Big Apple, but I wasn’t going to walk away from it now I found it, either.

This contemporary, erotic romance is about second chances. Told from the point of view of the main character, anyone who has been in a long-term relationship will relate. It will make you laugh, it may make you cry, but they deserve their happily ever after.

My review:

This is a steamy romp with characters that will suck you in and make you want to know what makes them tick. A one-night stand turns into so much more. This book is filled with hot sex so if that isn’t your scene move on. Cali and Ben stole my heart and made me sweat.

Flirty Kumquat (Little Cakes #12) by Pepper North & Paige Michaels

Blurb:

Welcome to Little Cakes, the bakery that plays Daddy matchmaker!

When she provokes his Daddy side, their friendship changes forever.

After working together for years, Tatiana thought she knew everything there was to know about her co-owner, Maniac. His dominant side is often on display, so she’s taken aback when she first learns about his much softer, and much more enticing, Daddy side.

Maniac looks like an outlaw with the rough edges of a biker, but his appearance hides a shrewd professional mind. And his head for business is the only reason he has kept his distance from his gorgeous partner all of this time. But when he finds Tatiana sobbing over the ending of another disastrous relationship, the business is no longer Maniac’s priority. This Daddy can’t stay away from the Little he’s meant to cherish any longer.

Little Cakes is a sweet and satisfying series, but dare to taste only if you like delicious Daddies, luscious Littles, and guaranteed happily-ever-afters.

My review:

This might be my favorite Little Cakes couple yet even if I don’t know what a kumquat is. Maniac and Tatiana are so good together. I just melted.

Blurb:

Only Jake could get attacked by a vampire clown the moment he moves his therapy practice to New Orleans. Fortunately, the town is rife with supernatural clients to keep his business afloat. But life has always enjoyed a good laugh at Jake’s expense, and he can’t stop thinking about one client in particular. The vampire who found him and saved him.

Having a vampire therapist is a bit of a dream come true for Aaron. He’s been needing one for a while. Aaron has a barrel full of issues to work out, and it’s easier if his therapist knows about the supernatural world. Unfortunately, Aaron never expected his therapist to be so hot, and they have a connection from day one. There’s no way for him to stay on task. Aaron doesn’t know if he’s getting better or if he’s falling in love. Truthfully, he’s also not sure if he cares anymore, as long as he gets to keep seeing Jake.

Must be Clowning Me
is the third book in Charity Parkerson’s Once Upon a Bite series. These books are meant to be short, fun paranormal romps to brighten your day.

My review:

Okay I’ll admit Jake had a rougher day than me getting changed to a vampire by a clown. Yes, I laughed. This quick romp had me giggling and swooning by turn. Aaron is redeemed and I am smitten with them both.

Dark Little Pieces by Anastasia Virgas

Blurb:

Born of darkness.
Destined to rule the light.
Forever.

Ever Montrose is a witch without a coven. Spooky and different than those around her, her magic takes darker turns, and deeper root, leading her to a solitary existence, both magically and physically. Toss in the fact that she’s unfinished, not perfect, something her peers love to remind her of, and her isolation is palpable. The women she grew up with wont bond with her, not when she isn’t as gleaming and perfect as they are.

But Ever doesn’t know she’s special… meant for more than the glittery brightness of home, and the women there with their too perfect hair, and makeup and clothes. She never belonged there, and she’s about to find out why….

Darkness bred her, lived in her soul, spoke in whispers to her in the depths of night. It promised it would send her Coven… one to rival the most powerful brightling Coven… with its onyx hues and malevolent needs.

Ever Montrose is a daughter of Darkness. And her coven will propel her to Queen status.

If she lets them.

My review:

Ever Montrose Everwood is a witch as unique as her name. This is a fascinating story of a young woman coming into her own. Ever is joined on her journey by characters as special as she. This is an unusual romp that is sweet, sexy and special. I really enjoyed this and hope the author continues their journey.

Dueling Time (Year 3 - The Nightshade Guild Book 4) by Sheri Lyn

Blurb:

The time scythe is gone and with it the mages of the Nightshade Guild. Scattered through the ages, the mages will have to use their wits and powers to survive the time period they were sent to and find their way home. With the mages gone, who will protect the world?

My review:

Cale, Marek and Tarek are thrown back in time and end up in the old west. Tombstone Arizona in the time of Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday and Bat Masterson to be exact. I fangirled right along with Cale.

I love these guys and seeing them trying not to mess up the timeline while figuring out why they are there and how to get back was a sweet romp.

The Secret Within by Sean Platt and David W. Wright

Blurb:

Delaney West, a tough-as-nails private investigator who’s not afraid to break the rules, operates out of an apartment she shares with her grumpy orange tabby named Pumpkin. Clients come to Delaney for her unique gifts — talents that helped her put away some of the city’s most dangerous criminals. But when Delaney takes on a case to find the missing Jay Sutherland — a 20-something playboy with a rap sheet and a penchant for beating women — Del realizes this case is much more than it seems.

With the help of her father, who’s suffering from Alzheimer’s, in a nursing home, Del discovers that the truth behind Jay’s disappearance is linked to a group called The Night Society. But they’re no ordinary villains. Anika, Jay’s girlfriend, is the only person who may know his whereabouts, but she harbors a dark secret that could pit Del against an enemy she hasn’t seen since her childhood.

As she delves deeper into this web of mystery and danger, can Del put aside her commitment issues long enough to save Jay and herself?

My review:

The Secret Within tells a story of good and evil from two points of view and what do you know? There is a little good in the evil and a little evil in the good.

This story goes back and forth leaving you guessing while feeding you tidbits along the way. This reads like a psychological thriller.

Cosmic Cardio
is the second book in Charity Parkerson’s Once Upon a Bite series. These books are meant to be short, fun paranormal romps to brighten your day.

My review:

Cosmic Cardio is an adorable tale of love and revenge. Cosmos is angry at the world because just as his life is getting to where he wants to be some kid in a bar turns him into a vampire. His plans for revenge lead him to the love and family he has looked for his whole life. I ate this book up.

Cian (Dublin Kings 1) by LK Shaw

Blurb:

Cian Donnelly is my Da’s bitter enemy. He’s also the man who won me—and my virginity—in a single hand of cards.

Now, he’s come to collect.

Except I’m tired of being a pawn in a game I have no wish to play. Maybe it’s time to make my own rules. The only thing I have to lose is my heart.

My review:

Okay I love this cover.

LK Shaw brings her sexy dark mafia romance to Ireland. In this installment Irish mobster Cian is brought to his knees by Rubenesque Nessa the protected daughter of a rival mobster.

This book submerges you in the dark world of the Donnelly clan. Nessa may have been abused by her father for twenty years but never more than when he bets and loses her virginity in a card game. Cian figures to use her to get at her father but didn’t expect to fall for her strong heart.

I loved this story and Nessa may be one of my favorite characters in this series.

The Ghosts of Wrath (Down & Dirty Supernatural Cleaning Services #7) by Demitria Lunetta, Kate Karyus Quinn, and Marley Lynn

The Ghosts of Wrath (Down & Dirty Supernatural Cleaning Services #7) by

Demitria Lunetta, Kate Karyus Quinn, and Marley Lynn

Blurb:

Things are about to get messy...

I’m Paige Harper, and while I’ve lost some things over the years—my parents, some business, a couple pair of panties—I think I might have finally found a man to settle down with...except he’s a werewolf.

Nico and I have barely had time to declare our feelings, much less get any time alone, when we discover there might be an answer to the big question of what happened during the Great Ghosting—a mass disappearance which claimed my family. In fact—we might even be able to reverse it. But that means going into the heart of O.H.I.O, a super-secret, anti-supe organization that has terrorized me and my friends before. I’ve got some info that could bring them down, and they’ve extended an olive branch...but there just might be a blade behind it.

When things turn sinister, it looks like one of us might end up dead before Nico and I get to seal the deal—in bed. My man will defend me to the end, but that means accessing his darker side, and the violence that’s led him astray before. When push comes to shove, will Nico become the cruel monster he was before I knew him? And, am I willing to give up everything – including my life, and a possible future with Nico - in order to get my parents back?

One things for sure—nobody is coming out of this clean.

My review:

A fabulous ending for a fantastic series. Paige and friends find a place for themselves but boy are they going to have to fight to find it. I couldn’t have wished for a better ending.
