Risk It All (Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters #2) by Katie Ruggle

Blurb:
Five bounty-hunting sisters
Deep in the heart of the Rockies
Fighting to save each other
...and the men who steal their hearts

Cara Pax never wanted to be a bounty hunter. She's happy to leave chasing criminals and tackling skips to her sisters. But if she wants her dreams of escaping the family business to come true, she's got one last job to finish... Only problem is, she doesn't think her bounty is guilty.

Henry Kavenski is a man with innocence to prove. When he realizes that Cara believes him, he'll do anything to keep her out of harm's way. Escaping criminals and dodging cops might not be the best time to fall in love, but Henry and Cara won't give up, not when there's a chance at a new life ahead--if they can survive the fall.

Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters:
In Her Sights (Book 1)
Risk It All (Book 2)

My review:
You wouldn’t think the story starring the sister studying to become a kindergarten teacher would be an adrenaline filled thrill ride but it is. This story is filled with action, adventure and danger. I loved it. This story had me holding my breath and crossing my fingers. Our unlikely heroine bagged the biggest bad a$$ of them all.

Torn Between Two Alphas: Howls Romance by Marianne Morea

Blurb:
When it rains men, it pours! Just ask Mikki Townsend.
About to lose her family’s bookshop, Mikki’s life can’t get any more complicated. Or so she thinks. That is until destiny crashes her headlong into two of the hottest shifters she ever met. Irresistibly drawn to both, she can’t choose. Worse yet, she doesn’t want to.
Double the Fantasy.
Like opposite sides of the same coin, both Eli Hunt and Nick Stanton make her body hum and her mind scramble. These alpha-males unlock dangerous passions and wake her dual-nature until she can’t see straight.
With her world in a tailspin, Mikki finds herself juggling in ways she only fantasized about, especially when fate throws another curve and she realizes everything’s connected. Can she get over the shock and accept a fantasy come true, or will she run from their shared destiny?

My review:
Torn Between Two Alphas while sometimes predictable is still so much fun. Take a sassy heroine, a snarky flirt, a desperate alpha and a manipulative lawyer and shake well and you get a sweet, sexy and sometimes silly story of three who were meant to be.

Cabin 1 (Steele Shadows Security #1) by Amanda McKinney

Blurb:
From bestselling and multi-award-winning romantic suspense author Amanda McKinney comes the first book in the steamy, edge-of-your-seat, three-part series, Steele Shadows Security…

Hidden deep in the remote mountains of Berry Springs is a private security firm where some go to escape, and others find exactly what they’ve been looking for.

Welcome to Cabin 1, Cabin 2, Cabin 3…

Cocky, reckless, and die-hard playboy were just a few of the names Gage Steele had been called since he and his brothers left the Marines and moved back to the small, southern town of Berry Springs to take over their father’s personal security firm. On the one-year anniversary of his father’s death, Gage had only two things in mind—endless whiskey and endless women, but what he got was a battered, bruised spitfire stumbling through woods in the middle of the night.

Newly-appointed prosecutor and unapologetic workaholic, Niki Avery had spent her life working toward one goal—never to have to depend on anyone but herself… until the day she was brutally attacked on the side of the road. Stripped of her Louis Vuitton and her dignity, the fiercely independent ADA must submit to being under the watchful eye of a former Marine, a loose cannon with a temper as scorching as his ruggedly handsome good looks.

As cracks begin to show in the Steele family, including newly discovered evidence that their father’s death was no accident, Gage wrestles with his growing feelings for his client, knowing not only that Niki is off-limits, but together, they were like gasoline and fire—an explosion he wanted nothing more than to ignite in the bedroom. But when a pair of bloody body parts show up at the compound, it becomes clear that Niki’s attacker hasn’t given up and Gage realizes he’ll do anything to keep her safe… even as his own family is spiraling out of control.

Cabin 1 is the first book in the 3-part Berry Springs spinoff series, STEELE SHADOWS SECURITY—and is its darker, grittier, steamier partner. Enjoy. ;)

My review:
Cabin 1 is a terrific romantic suspense novel with a killer ending. I wasn’t aware that it was a spin off but it stands well on its own. Action, mystery and love.  Well worth the read. Can’t wait for the next installment.

A Garden, A Golem, and a Gray Area (Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mystery #12) by C.C. Dragon

Blurb:
A golem in the garden is the last thing Deanna needs with her other unexpected issues. Life is changing for her and Paul big time and they must do what she never imagined--they must clear out the attic and the space under the stairs. All evil ghosts, trapped demons, and haunted objects MUST go...but they're not free to roam. They must be moved on, cleansed, or contained elsewhere.

When one particularly troublesome ghost rallies opposition, De, her crew, her angels, and the golem must show the evil ones who is the real boss! Only this ghost has an ace up its transparent sleeve leading everyone to a gray area that Gran herself must mediate for the good of the Oscar legacy.

My review:
In A Garden, A Golem, and a Gray Area Deanna and the gang deal with issues close to home. This installment is filled with all the love and craziness we have come to expect from Deanna and her tribe. This story clears up some issues but presents some new ones. Can’t wait for the next installment.

The Bonds of Love by Cecilia Tan

Blurb:
Jiro's lineage once proudly served the nobility as samurai: protectors of royalty with a legacy of sword and rope. But though rich in tradition, in the modern age the family is penniless. And after cataclysmic events, Jiro has lost everything, including everyone he ever cared about and maybe even his mind. He is kept in a hospital amnesia ward, catatonic and unspeaking until a charity visit from the Crown Princess rouses him miraculously.

Ami is the sole heir of the Emperor, fresh out of Harvard and looking to both sow her wild oats and create real change for women in her role as a public figure. But her father and his head of security want her kept safe and sound: caged like a bird for her protection.

Ami will do anything to get out from under their control. Little does she know there are true dangers waiting for their chance to strike, a chance that comes when the princess slips away from her bodyguards and disappears in disguise into the underground world of sex clubs and rope bondage performers. Will the disguise be enough to keep her safe from the assassins on her trail? And what about this mysterious stranger, this Jiro, who seems fated to meet her again? What will she receive when she surrenders herself, bound and helpless, to his rope bondage: unbearable pleasure or ultimate pain?

My review:
The Bonds of Love by Cecilia Tan is a beautifully written erotic tale of love through time expressed through the art of Shibari. This is a short story that will stick with you long past the last page.

Beyond Justice (The Asylum Fight Club Book 2) by Bianca Sommerland and Tibby Armstrong

Blurb:
Raised and trained by The Asylum Fight Club’s most infamous owner, Reed Dane is almost untouchable. Might sound dope, but there are disadvantages to his ‘privileged’ status. His guardian’s reputation makes a serious relationship impossible—turns out the club’s members are addicted to breathing—and the one man Reed truly wants sees him only as a stray his former lover brought home.

An endless string of one-night stands lacks the intimacy Reed craves, but at least edgy post-fight hookups distract him from what he’ll never have. Until he takes a wrecking ball to the walls that set him apart.

Curtis Smith is a lot of things—MMA fighter, club owner...son of a drug lord—but one thing he’s not is prepared to face temptation exploding past his carefully built boundaries. Reed is forbidden, to him most of all, but resisting what they both want becomes impossible with the sub challenging him at every turn. And with his past threatening everything The Asylum has been built to protect, Curtis can’t afford to be addicted to Reed’s brand of candy coated sin.

He can’t deny himself one taste before his stolen time runs out. Because when it does, all that will be left behind for Reed is a memory…

And his heart.

My review:
Beyond Justice (The Asylum Fight Club Book 2) by Bianca Sommerland and Tibby Armstrong will rip your heart out, stomp on it, crumple it into a little ball and then rebuild it stronger and happier than you can believe. This is Curtis and Reeds story and their future may just be stolen by Curtis past. This story takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride that will leave you exhausted but happy.
This book can stand alone but will be so much better with the foundation built in the first book Flawed Justice (The Asylum Fight Club, #1). The Asylum Fight Club is a safe place for gay men to fight and f**k which I thought an ironic dichotomy but the authors made it work. While I am not a MMA fan the characters drew me in and made me want to know more.

Wolf Unleashed (Wolves of Willow Bend Book 14) by Heather Long

Blurb:
Change swept through the packs of North America, leaving in its wake seven packs where once only five stood. Old enemies still lurk, past hatreds fester, and the shadow of invaders linger. The challenge of diplomacy, evaluating the old laws, and instituting the new ones falls squarely on the shoulders of the pack Seconds. It’s a whole new world, and what took so long to construct…remains vulnerable.

Luc Danes is Second, and best friend, to Brett Dalton the Alpha of Hudson River. He has his hands full training healer and alpha’s mate Colby in how to defend herself as well as hone her wolf senses. It’s not a bad life for a bachelor wolf, not really—except lately, all the eligible females have turned him down. No dates. No playing. Nothing. He’s untouchable. Turns out no one wants to lay a finger on what rumors have labeled the Alpha’s property as the third to the alpha’s pairing leaving Luc one shocked and frustrated wolf.

Just the position he wants to be in when paired with the stunning Charlie who doesn’t know him at all and is unlike any other wolf he’s known. So why can’t he even earn a second look?

Charlotte “Charlie” Miller works in the city, an urban wolf, she rarely sheds her skin for fur. As an executive handling day-to-day meetings for her alpha in New York and around the world, she knows how to handle even the most difficult of individuals. But changes in pack structures across the country require a different kind of handling, and Brett calls in his chief negotiator to back up his Second, and to give him a crash course in diplomacy.

Unfortunately, Charlie has dealt with wolves and humans just like Luc before and it doesn’t matter how sexy he is, she refuses to be impressed.

My review:
Welcome back to the Wolves of Willow Bend. Change is never easy but the only constant is change. Luc is assigned to help facilitate new treaties and his partner in this endeavor is Charlotte “Charlie” Miller. Charlie is a “special wolf” who hides in the urban jungle of New York rather than deal with a pack of wolves and her mother. She is smart and driven and will drive Luc to distraction. I really enjoyed getting to know Charlie and Luc impressed me with his patience and understanding (not something alpha wolves are known for). This story will suck you in and won’t let go till way after the last page.

They will work together to find his sister and the rogue who took her. And this time, Brady will do what he should have three years ago—kill his father.

My Review:
A Winter Mating is a sweet second chance love story that takes place around the winter holidays. Brady left without a word three years earlier for a good reason but he could/should have contacted Everly the girl he left behind at any time during those three years so now he has got some serious groveling to do if he wants back into her heart.  I enjoyed this story and enjoyed spending the holidays with Everly and Brady. This story will leave you with a smile.

Belle Fury (The Manhattan Ten Series Book 3) by Lola Dodge

Blurb:
A ballerina. A lightning-powered soldierboy.

She’s focused on career, career, and only career. This dance-a-holic wants nothing but the stage and the spotlight and she has the talent to back up her dreams. Belle’s path to stardom is a straight shot until her late-onset super powers erupt mid-show and blowing up the stage becomes a little too literal.

He’s the Manhattan Ten’s second-in-command with red lightning jazz hands and military-grade loyalty to his hero crew. So, when the boss assigns him to babysit a rogue dancer, Red Ruin can only follow orders. But the more time he spends with the not-so-blushing ballerina, Belle, the more she steals his own center stage.

It’s love at first fight in the third volume of the Manhattan Ten Series.

My review:
I LOVE THIS SERIES! This is the superhero love stories I wanted as a kid. Our newest superhero is a ballerina of all things. But she knows a lot about hard work and perseverance which she is going to need. Belle has come to her powers late and they manifest at her greatest triumph as a dancer. She is less than thrilled and scared.
Red Ruin is feeling overworked and underappreciated when the boss sends him to pick up an out of control ballerina. But he is smitten from the get go. It takes our ballerina a bit longer to fall for his electric personality.
These books are so much fun I am anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Only Love (Will It Records) by S.A. Price

Blurb:
When a paparazzi starts sniffing around Misery and Kemper, claiming they are together, Kemper can’t let that happen, especially not right before the release of one of Misery’s biggest movies to date. Not wanting here say about their relationship to make the headlines with sensationalism, she decides she needs to throw the world at large off the scent. And she knows just who to enlist. Crais Neumeyer, drummer of Strange Angels and frequent lover is the one person Kemper knows can help her with their little problem without issue. Not that it will be a hardship. Crais is fun, discreet and a team player, and they already have a comfortable enough relationship that no one would be the wiser. Especially because Crais is living on borrowed time. An accident five years prior gave him a second chance, one with conditions he had yet to reach. And with one month till the end of the deal, he wants to spend the time with someone that he likes, that gets him and that would make him slipping the mortal coil worth the time he had left. Because he is going out on his own terms, and that means loving the one woman that he could see himself with. Even if it’s just a lie.

My review:
Only Love will tear you up. It was hot af but you expect that from this series. What I didn’t expect was for their love to be so perfect and I wanted to see it go on so much. The author didn’t leave us hanging or with a broken heart but wait till the last minute why don’t ya. I enjoyed the heck out of this book and though it is part of a series can be read standalone.

Hot Magic (Cat's Paw Cove #5) by Catherine Kean & Wynter Daniels

Blurb:
While clearing out her late mother's home in Cat's Paw Cove, Florida, Molly Hendrickson finds an unusual antique necklace. Wearing it makes her feel confident and sexy--things she hasn't felt since her ex broke off their engagement or, really, ever. She decides to keep the jewel but takes other items to Black Cat Antiquities, the local antique store, to have them appraised.

Lucian Lord, a reincarnated 12th century knight, moved to Cat's Paw Cove after a scandal in which he revealed his magical abilities to his former girlfriend. Demoted by his superiors, he's running the antiques shop while his grandfather is on vacation. But, when Molly brings in artifacts tainted by dark magic, Lucian is duty-bound to find and contain the dangerous energy before it wreaks havoc not only on the town, but the world.

Living by the knightly code of honor, Lucian vows to help Molly, especially when he realizes the necklace is the source of the ancient magic he's hunting. He's determined to save his headstrong damsel and redeem his tarnished reputation--but first, things will get very, very hot.

My review:
Magic, mystery and love this story has it all. Our hero is a reincarnated 12th century knight who has learned a thing or two over the years. He is tasked with keeping dark magic items safe and out of the hands of those who would use and abuse them. Our heroine has unwittingly stumbled across one such item and Lucian is tasked with obtaining it by any means necessary. What he didn’t count on was Molly stealing his heart. This is a fun tale filled with snarky talking cats and the magic of love. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.

Vampire Master (Vampire Queen #16) by Joey W. Hill

Blurb:
Big and bad enough to be any girl’s nightmare—or her best dream ever…

Beyond your grasp. Those are the three words that come to mind, every time Elle sees Wolf at Club Atlantis. He earns the term Master, in and out of scene, yet there is something deeper and darker about him. She wants to dive into that abyss.

Wolf sees the yearning. But the submissive he ultimately claims becomes his servant, soul-bound to him for all eternity. Elle is a natural submissive, with an endless desire to please. She’s perfect for the role, really.

Except Elle is a gift he doesn’t deserve.

However, vampires are wired one way—to take what they want, no matter what their conscience tells them. Even Wolf isn’t strong enough to resist his nature…or the salvation Elle’s love offers.

My review:
This book made me so happy. Elle has been a favorite secondary character in this series for quite some time and now we get to know her and her story and maybe just maybe the little pixie can tame the big bad Wolf. Wolf is a fairly new character but he was intriguing as he is the silent type. I was fascinated by the idea of him doing BDSM therapy and was really glad when he explained the Daddy/little kink so it wasn’t as creepy as I thought it would be. Once again Joey W. Hill has done a masterful job of entertaining and informing us about BDSM. I love this series and was thrilled to see some favorite characters from previous books but you can read this standalone.

Magic's Mate: A Steamy Paranormal Romance (Destined Mates Book 1) by Robbie Cox

Blurb:
Adira Brennan never felt so foolish. Jensen never intended to mate with her, never intended to use her for anything except a good time until his true mate returned. Now, with her magic in shards thanks to using it to bring harm, Adira is sent to Bull Creek to help the alpha there take a stand against a pack of coyotes, but can she rely on her magic when the time comes?

Sent to Bull Creek by the Paranormal Council, Dimitri Everest kept a close eye on the hodge-podge collection of residents that made up the community, too busy to open his eyes or his heart to the possibilities of romance. Then Adira arrived and the panther within Dimitri did more than just purr.

My review:
Witch Adira Brennan is sent to help defend the good citizens of Bull Creek but her magic is a bit sketchy and her heart is in tatters. Bull Creek is everything and nothing like she envisioned. It is hot and sticky, filled with mosquitoes and alligators but it is also filled with good folk and a smoking hot Neanderthal acting alpha who claims she is his mate. Can love save them all? Find out in this witty and sexy tale that will keep you flipping pages and reaching for a cold drink.

Blurb:
A seductress. A super brain.

Those stolen powers add up to a crazy arsenal, but Temptress isn’t built for super strength and shooting laser beams. Natural enemies can only get closer. And closer. And closer…

It’s love at first fight in the second volume of the Manhattan Ten Series.

Neither of them guesses that the Fairy Shop will be the source of far more than Delly’s courage. On Christmas Eve, under the influence of a very unusual fairy, Nate’s life will change forever.
