The Undercover Billionaire (Tate Brothers #3) by Jackie Ashenden

Blurb:
The Tate Brothers were raised to protect what is theirs…

Navy SEAL Wolf Tate is on a mission of vengeance. He’s willing to do whatever it takes to infiltrate the lair of his arms-dealing enemy—and rescue the mother he never knew. To do this, he’ll need more than his father’s fortunes or his brothers-in-arms. He must find a way to kidnap his enemy’s daughter for leverage. There’s just one problem: She is also one of Wolf’s closest friends—and the only woman he’s ever loved…

For years, Olivia de Santis has been waiting for Wolf to take her in his arms and make her dreams come true. But she never imagined that he’d sneak into her bedroom one night…and take her as his hostage. Olivia knows she should resist him—and stay loyal to her own family. But how can she deny the burning justice of Wolf’s mission, and the blazing desire in his eyes—even if giving into the heat of the moment can put her in grave danger?

My review:
The Undercover Billionaire leads us through Wolf Tate’s angst over what he thinks he should do versus what his heart wants him to do.  I liked Olivia. She wasn’t the pushover she first appeared to be. The chemistry between Wolf and Olivia has been on a slow burn for years and when they finally get together it is intense. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.

Twice Bitten (Argeneau #27) by Lynsay Sands

Blurb:
Thrilling, witty, and oh-so-sexy, Lynsay Sands’ Argeneau novel brings together a beautiful Immortal and the man who is her destiny…
For someone who’s been around for over a hundred and forty years, immortal Elspeth Argeneau hasn’t done a whole lot of living. Now that she’s moved away from her controlling mother, she’s tracking down rogue vampires and enjoying some overdue freedom. A fling would be fun. A life mate can wait. Yet to Elspeth’s surprise, her landlady’s hot grandson checks both boxes.
Wyatt fell instantly in love with Elspeth four years ago. He’s stunned to run into her again, especially as she has no memory of him. Then again, there are a lot of things about Elspeth that don’t make sense, like the miraculous speed with which her wounds heal. And the chemistry that transforms every touch into an explosion of desire. With mysterious “accidents” besieging Elspeth, the ex-Special Forces soldier appoints himself her bodyguard. But time is running out to uncover the truth about her enemies—and rediscover the man determined to love her for eternity.

My review:
Twice Bitten reintroduces us to some of the characters from earlier in the series (don’t worry if you haven’t read them) and gives us Elspeth’s story. Elspeth has run away from home. She is 142 years old dammit she should be allowed to be on her own. She has been in Canada for six whole weeks on her own when mommy dearest shows up. Poor Elspeth, in this story she gets stabbed, run over by a car, her home gets torched, there is an attempted poisoning, she gets kidnapped and worst of all she learns of the amount of betrayal done to her by her own mother. To balance that out she meets Wyatt, again and reunites with old friends and family that help her break free and move on.
This story is what keeps me buying everything Lynsay Sands writes. There is humor, love, great characters and a terrific story. Looking forward to the next installment.

Caught Up by Rya Stone

Blurb:
Steamy romance and contemporary suspense collide in this compelling debut novel from Rya Stone.

Cassie Mitchum is interested in one thing and one thing only—closing a deal on the Lucas property. Until she sets eyes on Jason “Jase” Lucas. He’s bad news, but he looks damn good doing it. She’s never been one for tattooed roughnecks, but she’s willing to make an exception, especially since he won’t look at her lease offer unless she agrees to a date with him.

Jason Lucas needs Cassie Mitchum to stay the hell off his land. There’s more happening than she needs to be aware of—or mixed up in. With that feisty attitude and those tight jeans…he can’t get her out of his head. Too bad being close to her would put her on the radar of the most dangerous person Jase has ever known.

My review:
Caught Up by Rya Stone is a romantic suspense that took me to places I’d not been to before. I liked learning about oil country and the roughnecks that work there. I liked Jase and Cassie. I had a bit of a problem with the pacing but all in all an interesting read.

Bent for His Will by KyAnn Waters

Blurb:
He loves a woman. But he also loves his best friend...so maybe he s not quite straight. Logan Sawin and Will Pennington have been friends for years. They attend the same university and live together in a great loft apartment. Their friendship can withstand anything...except Renna Polo. Logan has never questioned his sexuality until he sees Renna, his girlfriend in Will s arms. Will is gay. But what bothers Logan more, Will's hands on Renna...or Renna's hands on Will? Will has a dirty little secret...he's in love with his best friend. Yet, Logan isn't gay and Will isn't willing to risk their friendship to discover if Logan isn't quite straight, but may be a little bent Bent For His Will. Renna is in love with Logan and is intrigued by Will. She accepts what Logan and Will can't...they belong together. But if Logan and Will take a chance on more, where does that leave her? Right where she wants to be...with Logan and the man he loves. Reader Advisory: This story contains hot man on woman sex, hotter man on man sex, and burn-up-the-pages man on man on woman sex."

My review:
m/m/f
Bent for His Will is an erotic romance that will leave you sweating. Renna is a sexually adventurous young woman who is rapidly falling for Logan. Will is Logan’s best friend and roommate. He is also gay and has been in love with Logan forever unbeknownst to Logan. When Renna picks up on it she mentions it to Logan who starts to question his feelings for Will, Renna and about himself. I liked that the author included all the messy angsty feelings they all went through. My only problem with the story was I really didn’t like Logan the guy everyone was in love with.

Taste Me (The Red Veil Diaries #3) by Marianne Morea

Blurb:
After jilting her at the altar, Jace Matthews is the last person Daisy Cochran wants to see. Five years later she'd as soon shoot him as look at him, so when chance gives her the opportunity she goes looking for answers in the most unlikely of places-a vampire club in the heart of New York City-not the place you'd expect to find rival Weres from a small ranch town in Texas. What she discovers stuns her to the core, as is the realization she now longs for what she's been taught to despise. Secrets and deep-rooted prejudice can't stem her feelings for the man she still loves or the forbidden passion leaving her with a taste for more than just his undead kiss. Can the two get past what they've been taught to hate and straddle two worlds as well as each other? The stage is set for a passion so strong it might be the vampire version of High Noon.

My review:
Vampires and werewolves oh my! Jace skipped out on his wedding to his childhood sweetheart. She has no idea where he went or why what she does know is he left a bit of himself behind in the form of his unborn daughter about which he is unaware. This story takes place 5 years after. Daisy Cochran’s father is pressuring her to marry to ensure the family farm stays in the family. When Daisy heads to NYC to think about her options she runs into Jace only he is very different than the last time she saw him. This is where our story begins but not where the story begins. Love, hate, grudges, prejudice this story has it all. I loved Jace and Daisy but wanted to put her father and Sam through the wall a time or two. This is part of a series but can be read stand alone. If you want a sweet and sexy PNR you will enjoy.

Justice for Milena (Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes #10) by Susan Stoker

Blurb:
It's been years since Milena Reinhardt has seen TJ "Rock" Rockwell. The last time, he was nearly a shell of a man...but he was her man...and he tore her heart out of her chest. Circumstances unbeknownst to TJ have ensured Milena's never fully recovered. TJ left his sniper days behind-for the most part-when he left the Army and become a respected Texas Highway Patrolman. He also left behind Milena. He's convinced it was the right thing to do at the time, but that doesn't mean he's ever forgotten the woman who loved him in his greatest time of need...or has stopped thinking of her since. Neither thought they'd see each other again, until a pedophile's operation is taken down and the evil man sets his vengeful sights on Milena. This could be their second chance, even though TJ and Milena have enough secrets and trust issues to end any relationship before it starts. But when the bad guy closes in, they'll have to set aside their fears and trust in each other, to save the one thing that means the world to them both.

My review:
Damaged sniper, perky medic, second chance romance and secret baby but wait there’s more we also have child molesting human traffickers who are out to get our perky medic and her friend thus necessitating reintroducing the damaged sniper to her life and him finding out about the baby. What you say you’ve been there read that? I don’t think so. Susan Stoker has infused this story with heart, healing and happiness. That being said she has also set up the next book. I can’t wait.

Beyond the Edge (The James Lucas Trilogy #1) by Elizabeth Lister

Blurb:

*graphic sexual and BDSM content*

Tate Mackenzie has signed on for a weekend of kinky fun at the hands of respected Dom, James Lucas. However, James has invited another man, twenty-four year-old Sebastian Doucette, to join in. Thrown together under James’ expert tutelage, the two men experience an instant attraction and begin a tentative relationship on their own time. But James hasn't been entirely honest with the boys and soon Tate finds himself the focus of two infatuated men. How will he choose the man he wants or the lifestyle he desires to pursue?

My review:
m/m/m
Beyond the Edge is an erotic, kinky story of a love triangle. I really enjoyed the story right up till the end. I wasn’t thrilled with the way it ended but then discovered it is the first in a trilogy and am much happier knowing the ending I had hoped for is still a possibility. If you don’t like BDSM stories you probably won’t enjoy this one because it is essential to the dynamics of the relationships. Well written and fast paced I am off to buy the next in the trilogy.

Razor (Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club #11) by Candace Blevins

Blurb:
Razor moved from the Memphis RTMC chapter to Chattanooga to set up and manage a series of laundromats, because the local chapter needs more ways to legitimize their illegal income. He’s gay, but the Chattanooga chapter has accepted gay couples into their social circle, so he hopes they can accept him.

Matty is about to graduate college, and he’s in the market for a Daddy. He walks into the RTMC bar with two of his girlfriends, and a huge hulk of a man rescues him from some rednecks. He recognizes the bouncer for the leather daddy he is, and sparks fly between them.

Most of the MC is prepared to accept Razor as a gay brother, but they know they’ll have to figure things out as they happen once Razor is serious about someone. Will his ‘boy’ be an ol’lady? And can all the ol’lady rules really apply to a man?

Razor is a Raven, Matty is human. The RTMC fits into the local supernatural hierarchy in a myriad of ways, and Razor is already friends with Abbott and Spence.

But a supernatural storm is about to blindside the club, and their personal ties to The Dragon King and Master Vampire won’t be enough to help.

This title can be read as a stand-alone.

Warning:
Male-male sexual practices are front and center in this book, not to mention it’s kinky as your grandmother’s old phone cord. Razor and Matty are heavy on the D/s, the S&M, and the B&D.

Since some reviewers have been surprised by this, it seems necessary to also warn that sometimes bikers solve problems with their fists, and there’s lots of sexy fun in the clubhouse with women who hang around because they want to be there, and who can leave anytime they want.

My review:
m/m
Razor is a kinky, hard core, down and dirty biker and leather Daddy. He is new to the Chattanooga chapter of the RTMC and so hasn’t come out to them yet although he did tell Duke and Brain. Meeting Matty changes his timetable for coming out to the club which actually goes pretty well except for  Dozer.
This story takes us once again behind the scenes of the paranormal Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club. It is a world unto itself with its own rules and regulations. Matty throws the system off kilter. Dozer proves that homophobia isn’t just a human affliction. And the Ol’ Ladies rule!
I fell for Matty along with Razor. He was real, sweet and as special as you could want a partner to be.
This story is sweet, sexy, harsh and cruel and will still leave you with a smile on your face.

Sacred Heart by Dagmar Avery, K. Margaret

Blurb:
For Hal, it all starts with meteors.

The clock starts ticking with the imminent possible destruction of Savannah, and Halvard Wagner is ready. One problem. He hasn’t had the dream yet, signaling who it is he needs to find. Instead, he ends up in a compromising position with Priya Artem.

Owner of Ghost Coast Bubble Co, Priya’s life is all about work and creating wonderful things to fill the bath. She’s introverted much of the time, and is completely bowled over when the one man she had been fantasizing about for five year saves her from becoming a wet scrape on the street thanks to an incoming meteor.

An afternoon spent together waiting out the assault brings several things to light, and Hal leaves the woman he’s been secretly interested in confused, hurt, and possibly hating him. But a woman like Priya doesn’t need his baggage, and Hal doesn't feel he's lucky enough to have her as his own.

But as with the rest of the Brotherhood, things aren’t always what they seem. Hal and Priya will have to figure out what is between them, and why, or the world is going to be in a heap of trouble.

Demons, dreams and secrets can’t change fate, and with the fate of the world resting in his arms, can Hal make the decision that will save them all?

My review:
Four warriors to protect us from the apocalypse. Two have found their fated mates and now it’s Halvard’s turn. Hal is the quiet one, the workaholic, the one who doesn’t date. Hal’s trial isn’t made clear in the prophecy and he isn’t going to be shown his mate in a dream like Issac and Gunnar. He has pushed aside his feelings for Priya for five years but current events have thrown them together and he is torn between duty and love.
The authors take us through heaven and hell and back again as we watch Hal go through a trial that will have him questioning everything he holds dear.
This is a fantastic world with characters you have to love.

Protecting Pilar by Heather Long

Blurb:
Love doesn’t come with an instruction manual...

Ben “Cannon” Stone had been called many things—pretty boy, rich kid, and heir-apparent. The one title he earned and made him proud was that of Navy SEAL. Although he wore his scars on the inside, it didn’t make him any less screwed up. He just deflected with a grin and a smart-ass comment. At least until a pouty princess collided with his car…

War isn’t always fought abroad…

Born a Napolitano but raised as a Petrucci, Pilar knew all about blood feuds and the family business. Her personal policy of non-involvement falters the day she overhears her grandfather order an assassination. Worse, the killing promises to launch of a war of retribution with Pilar in the crosshairs of a killer. The last thing she needs is a car accident and some pretty boy offering to help her…

Hell is a road we make…

Cannon doesn’t know where she came from or who is after her, but he isn’t letting anyone hurt her. Isolated. On the run. And unfamiliar with the enemy, this SEAL will use every skill he has to protect the woman who just might be his Mrs. Right.

My review:
Ben “Cannon” Stone can make you smile and even laugh while folks are chasing you with deadly intent. Pilar Napolitano is not immune to his charm. When Pilar plows her Jag into the side of Ben’s new truck while running from the hoods that want to kill her Ben takes it in stride and does everything he can to keep her safe. She manages to steal his heart along the way. This is a high energy, truly fun, sweet and sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Without Warning (Vigilance #2) by Desiree Holt

Blurb:

When you don’t know how the story will end . . .

After years of hard work honing his craft, Blake Edwards is now an international bestselling author. But one thing he never imagined was that his fictional world would become all too real. When a stalker turns Blake’s latest book tour into a treacherous and nearly deadly trap, it’s time for Blake to hire protection. But the body assigned to keep an eye on him is someone he never wants out of his sight...

As a bodyguard for Vigilance, the private security agency in Blake’s hometown of Arrowhead Bay, Samantha Quenel has found the perfect outlet for her military experience. But her latest client is also a former high school flame, which might explain her willingness to protect Blake at all costs—even if that means staying in the same room with him, on the same bed, under the same torrid sheets...

My review:

Without Warning is romantic suspense written by a fantastic storyteller. Desiree Holt is known for hot and steamy but this story is more mystery than erotic. The author kept me on the edge of my seat, chewing my nails as we try to figure out who is stalking author Blake Edwards. Keeping him safe is the girl he stood up in high school and the one woman he has never forgotten or forgiven himself for hurting. Sam and Blake manage to work on their personal issues while dodging a psycho. While part of a series it can be read stand alone. This is a fantastic read and one of Ms. Holt’s best.

Having a Ball! by Misty Simon

Blurb:
Danner Tenley’s stroll through a thrift store nets her a fortune-telling ball that reminds her of her youth. It’s all fun and games until it starts using her name and giving her very direct messages. But that’s nothing compared to the completely rude gnome with a perma-smile who pops out of her wall to tell her how to use the ball. On top of that, a troll has threatened to take over Danner’s life if he doesn’t get a certain book.

Toby Nelson, Danner’s friend and landlord, doesn’t know what he’s being roped into, but if she needs help, he’ll be there for her. Meeting a gnome is quite the experience, and fighting a troll is something he’s not looking forward to; falling in love with his best friend isn’t even on his radar.

In a race against time, Danner has only a bad-tempered gnome and her hunky landlord to help her. How bad can it be?

My review:
Having a Ball is a total blast! This is the first book by this author that I’ve read but I promise it won’t be the last. This is a cozy mystery with paranormal elements. The heroine, Danner (don’t call me Dan) Tenley, lives way too much in her head but it’s a fun place and I enjoyed peeking in on her thoughts. If you enjoy Angie Fox or Leighann Dobbs you are sure to enjoy this.

The Renegade Spy (Department 89, # 1) by Mark O'Neill

Blurb:

A Deadly Assassin Is After The German Chancellor - But The Assassin Is In Even More Danger Than He Realises.
A page-turning debut novella in the tradition of Daniel Silva, Mark Dawson, and Robert Ludlum, The Renegade Spy is the story of a deadly and maverick female German Intelligence agent, tasked with saving the life of the German Chancellor from a ruthless assassin.

The German chancellor, Claudia Meyer, is riding a wave of popularity at home. But she also has her enemies, and one of them has hired an assassin - nicknamed "The Scorpion" - for twenty million Euros to kill her.

Little does the chancellor know that the Scorpion is relentless. He is ruthless, and he is extremely good at his job. The government has no clue what the Scorpion looks like and how he will strike. Not even her bodyguards are a guarantee of safety. All they know is that the Scorpion leaves a trail of dead bodies in his wake. Captain Sophie Decker of German Intelligence rapidly becomes Meyer’s only chance of ultimate survival, along with her colleague, Lieutenant Wolfgang Schmitz.

Decker and Schmitz are given an order – stop the Scorpion by any means necessary – before the Scorpion gets to the chancellor.

My review:
The Renegade Spy is an action packed thriller that kept my attention. Captain Decker is one tough cookie. This was like reading an action movie fun in the moment but not much to linger over.

Born with a Silver Moon: Galaxa Warriors (PDA 15) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:

** COMPLETELY STANDALONE **
Discover a brand new race of Alpha males ready to find their mates in a dangerous warrior planet. Sassy women traveling with Gerri Wilder are in for the journey of a lifetime and a mate that will love them through the galaxy. Are you ready?

Grab the next Galaxan romance between a sexy warrior and his fiery mate.

Attention is something Riley Parks usually shies away from, but when she finds herself on a shifter planet in a distant galaxy, attention is exactly what she's getting. Especially from one smokin' hot hunk of a man. Jag. The man sends her body into heat and her mind to a scramble whenever he's near, but she's not having it. No way. A little taste might not hurt, though, right?

Royal prince, warrior, and womanizer, Jag Kasaval has his sights set on Riley. She turns his world upside down and his inner lion is clawing to claim her. Not used to rejection, he's willing to do anything to get his mate. What he didn't expect was a feisty hellcat waiting to be unleashed beneath her quiet exterior.

Riley and Jag are thrown together to help plan a royal wedding and coronation. She refuses to admit Jag is exactly the man she wants, even if matchmaker Gerri Wilder says it's in the cards. In the midst of palace intrigue, Riley's swept up in scandal and danger that drags her beyond the Galaxa she's come to know. With her life in the balance, Jag will have to find her before it's too late or lose her forever.

My review:
Riley Parks is not one for the spotlight but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t shine. Jag may be a prince and totally hot but Riley doesn’t want a player and Jag has that rep. When Jag sets his sights on Riley he plans to make her very glad for his experience. While helping to plan the kings wedding and the queens coronation Riley and Jag get to know each other better. But Riley is no pushover and Jag is going to have to work for it.
I like that Riley fell for the man and not the position. This is another fun addition to the PDA series but can be read standalone. Action, adventure and love.

Blurb:

She’ll stop at nothing to keep her new team and family at The Arsenal safe. But someone’s put a six million dollar hit on her and ghosts from the past have returned. She’s facing her toughest challenge ever. Now she has a mysterious assassin shadowing her every move. He’s vowed to keep her safe, but she’s part of the Quillery Edge.

They never quit. They never surrender. They never let anyone stand between them and their quarry.

He had one rule: Don’t mess with his family.

Judson Jensen’s lived a solitary life taking down targets no one else dared touch. The bastards he’s wasted twenty years working for took his brother. The choice was supposed to be simple—neutralize the Quillery Edge or your brother dies. Unfortunately for them he had another choice—take them down. All he needs is to earn the brilliant, fiercely sassy Viviana’s trust and keep her alive.

The two must work together to do the impossible: take Judson’s employer down.

This isn’t business…it’s personal.

My review:
Sight Lines is romantic suspense at it’s very best. Take one bad ass assassin and mess with his family and you bring down hell on your whole operation. Better yet add in the genius back office operator you are being blackmailed to kill and Armageddon will seem tame. When Jud and Vi meet the world is shifted on its axis and you will enjoy the ride. Action, adventure and love a terrific addition to the series.

Blurb:
Too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth. And let me tell you, this broth is in trouble. Get ready for a Southern showdown.

The residents of Cottonwood, Kentucky are sent into a tizzy when the Culinary Channel comes to town to film an episode of Southern Home Cookin’ with celebrity chef Frank Von Lee.

Especially Sheriff Kenni Lowry.

Her mama’s award-winning chicken pot pie is what brought Frank to town, and they don’t make hair in the South bigger than her mama’s ego after the news.

When Frank Von Lee is found dead from food poisoning and the most likely culprit is Mama’s chicken pot pie, Kenni’s poppa, the former sheriff, comes back from the Great Beyond to assist in the investigation.

But nothing’s prepared Kenni for such a personal tie to a case, and she finds herself pushing the limits of the laws she’s sworn to protect.

This book’s so delicious it’ll make your mouth water and leave you hankerin’ for more.

My review:
Sheriff Kenni and the gang are back and it looks like trouble has hit close to home. A food critic has been killed and it looks like Kenni’s mama is the prime suspect. This crime will test the strength of more than one relationship in Kenni’s life.
Six Feet Under is a fast paced, well written, intriguing mystery with a great cast of characters that will leave you hungry for more.
