Oh, My Roared (Paranormal Dating Agency #12) by Milly Taiden

Oh, My Roared (Paranormal Dating Agency #12) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:
Paranormal Dating Agency Book 12 - STANDALONE

***You don't have to read any of the other books in the series to read this one. It's 100% standalone***

Francesca Virgata wants a mate. She longs for the perfect kind of love her parents had. There’s only one problem, she has zero prospects. Thankfully, she’s heard of Gerri Wilder who promises to make all her mating dreams come true.

Theo and Marcus are best friends and share everything, even women. So when they both fall for Francesca, it’s only natural they have a friendly competition over who can get the girl. After some thought, and a hot little interlude, they realize she shouldn’t choose one over the other, they should work together to make the perfect triad. A lion, a tiger and a bear, oh my!

There has been talk of abuse in Francesca’s pride and she won’t tolerate it. She’ll fight tooth and claw to ensure all members are safe. But when her brother turns on her, who will protect her? Theo and Marcus will do anything for her, but it might be easier to let them both go than to choose only one of the men she’s come to love.

Reader's Note: This book is dirty. Very very dirty. It has bad bad language and a lot of hot sex. There's sarcasm, fighting and one sharp tigress who can't choose between a hot lion and a cuddly bear. Maybe she doesn't have to. So if you like MENAGE with two hot men and one curvy girl who gets brought to orgasmic heights like she's the queen of the world, then you will enjoy this. If you don't, keep it moving.

My review:
A lion, a tiger and a bear, oh my! Oh, My Roared is a fast moving story of a good girl tigress whose dad is in poor health and her jackass brother is keeping secrets. She feels like it may be time to find her own happiness so she contacts Gerri Wilder at her Paranormal Dating Agency. Gerri sets her up with not one but two hot shifters. Either Theo or Marcus alone would be enough to get a girls juices flowing but together? What’s a girl to do but give in. I really like Francesca she isn’t a holier than thou good girl but she does think things through and she cares. This story is filled with humor and happiness but it has some dark moments too.

Secrets of Redemption (Secrets, #3) by L.K. Shaw

Blurb:
I killed a man.

He deserved to die, but guilt threatens to consume me. I continue on as though nothing is wrong, but every time I close my eyes, all I see is blood. His face haunts me. My life is crumbling around me, and I don’t know how much more I can take. Then, there is her. I’ve watched her, wanted her, for years. And now, I can never have her. Darkness surrounds me. I’m damaged goods. A murderer.

I killed a man.

He deserved to die, and never once have I regretted my actions. I’ve since made something of myself. I live a full life with a great career, a fantastic boss, and the best friends a girl could ask for. Then, there is him. I’ve seen him watching me with want in his eyes. I’ve been waiting for him to make the first move. But now, he walks around as if ghosts are chasing him. I know what he did, and I know it’s eating him alive. I only hope my love can light his way out of the darkness, and I can show him the secret of redemption.

My review:
Secrets of Redemption is a wonderfully woven story of love and forgiveness. Josie is smart, strong and stubborn as hell. Miles may be older than her but he is just as stubborn. He is also hurting and Josie may be the only cure.  Every time I thought I knew which way the story was going to go the author twisted it up and took off in a direction I hadn’t anticipated. This is a fresh, sexy and sweet tale that I highly recommend.

Playing Her Body by Julie Morgan

Blurb:
When shy meets wild, keys will be played.

Attending a bachelor party, Jordan wasn’t looking for anything that night, other than keeping his best friend, Blaine, safe from the paparazzi. Everything had been moving along well until she walked in.

Natalie knew of the band, Deep Ember, but never thought she’d find herself sharing her bed with the keyboard player, Jordan.

Blaine’s wedding was coming. Jordan was ready as best man…at least until he saw who was the bride’s maid.

My review:
This standalone short features characters we’ve met in the Southern Roots series but can be read solo with no issues. Though Jordan is the keyboard player for the band Deep Ember he is really very shy and has no problems with the others taking the spotlight. Unfortunately that doesn’t help him when he sees a gorgeous redhead across the bar while attending Blaine’s bachelor party. Encouraged by a few drinks and Blaine egging him on Jordan goes up to meet her and is instantly entranced. What was meant to be a one night stand could be so much more. If only Jordan wasn’t such a guy.
Playing Her Body is a fun, sweet read. I loved Natalie. She is smart, silly and patient. I felt for Jordan. He has to put it out there every time he goes on stage; to see that big stars are just like normal guys in that they too have trouble finding the words when needed was refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and you will too.

The Unyielding (Call of Crows #3) by Shelly Laurenston

Blurb:
Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever, has got big problems. The human Viking Clans of earth are in danger of being obliterated—along with the rest of the world—and the only one who may be able to save them is a super pain-in-the-ass Crow. Most people annoy Stieg, but this is the one woman he really can’t stand…

Erin Amsel loves being a Crow! Why wouldn’t she when the other Viking Clans are so hilariously arrogant and humorless? She’s not about to let all that come to an end! She just didn’t expect to be shoulder to shoulder in battle with Stieg. Then again, he’s so easy to torment—and also kind of cute.

With the future of the world riding on them, Stieg knows he’ll have to put aside his desperate need to kiss the smirk right off Erin’s face. Wait. What? He didn’t mean that—did he? No! They have one goal: To conquer the idiots. Because nothing bugs Stieg more than when idiots win. If only he can keep himself from suddenly acting like one….

My review:
This series is the BEST!!! This book is a rocket ride that will have you busting your gut laughing one moment and peeking through your fingers the next. Erin Amsel may be my favorite character EVER. She has absolutely no filter whatsoever so you always know where you stand. Her sense of humor floored me. Now put her together with stoic Stieg Engstrom, Angriest Viking Ever and watch as he is put in the position of being the sane one as he and Erin are off to save the world.

Degrees and Passion by Lori Ann Gerlisky

Blurb:
DEGREES ARE EARNED…

Could life get any harder for Helena Foster? Her mother disappeared four years ago, and her father’s new girlfriend kicked her out. She needs to finish college, get her degree, and find a job.

The fear of marriage for a lucrative business merger has Alejandro Carrera desperate to prove he can run the new Bayside Floating Casino project for his father. He will finish his Master’s Degree while overseeing the construction and stay on to manage the multi-billion dollar corporation.

PASSION IS EXPERIENCED…

One tap on Helena’s shoulder and the lure of the mysterious stranger’s dark mocha eyes and sultry accent had her rearranging priorities. She didn’t want to think about all of the new emotions she experienced every time he glanced in her direction during class. Should she give in to the passion his eyes promised?

Alejandro had not planned on a blonde-haired distraction to cross his path. The moment she pushed up her glasses with one finger on her perfectly sculpted nose, he was hooked. But she is a complication he does not need. He can’t risk the temptation of what those innocent eyes promised.

WOULD GIVING IN BE TOO MUCH OF A GAMBLE?

My review:
Degrees and Passion is a delightfully sweet romance. Helena is totally believable and her friendship with Amanda keeps it real.  Alejandro is a true romantic hero and fun to watch him woo Helena. There is a darker subplot but the author handles it with love and respect. A sweet escape.

Blurb:
Lisa Adams wants what every other woman wants: The perfect job. The perfect home. The perfect guy. When she receives the opportunity of a lifetime, Lisa has no idea what she’s actually signed up for. Her boss, who is tall, dark and incredibly sexy, starts making advances towards her and she’s having a hard time telling him no. Lisa begins seeing things that are scaring the Hell out of her. Nightmares are leaving her frightened.

Then there’s this new guy that’s come into her life. He brings a new light into the darkness that threatens to claim Lisa. He’s mysterious, heartwarming and kind. Not to mention the most beautiful man she’s ever met. But something with him seems to be off.

Faced with love, seduction, sacrifice and deceit, Lisa will find herself being pulled in two directions; one pursues her to claim her soul and the other will sacrifice everything to save her.

My review:
Not the best by this author but a good story none the less. I enjoyed this even though I don’t like horror. The story was fairly predictable until the twist at the end that made it all worth it.

Blurb:

But could one night of passion turn into a lifetime of pleasure? Or will she be forced to make the hardest choice of her life?

My review:
Red Hot Pleasures is a fun fantasy romp. Business lawyer Tessa Barnes is torn between the hot contractor and her BFF from high school. When she finds they have been lovers before she is intrigued but when they make it plain they both want her she is reluctantly titillated. Can they make a ménage work? Who knows; but it is fun watching them find out.

F*ck Club: Con (F*ck Club #2) by Shiloh Walker

Blurb:

Rule #2…Respect the ladies.

Conner Steele has nothing but respect for ladies. He absolutely adores them and takes more than a little bit of pride in his job—or rather, his former job.

After a run-in with a cop, former male escort Con, along with his brother Riley and best friend Shame, decided it might just be best to hang up their…hats and retire from the business of being paid to pleasure.

After all, they have a profitable business going with their new pub. No reason to ruin a good thing and Con is more than happy to keep pleasing the ladies—just…no longer as a job. Finding a date or company for the night has never been an issue for him, either. He’s been told more than once that he can charm a tiger out of its stripes. But lately a new hire at the bar is turning the tables on him—she is the one charming him, twisting him up into knots and getting him so worked up, he can barely see straight.

In his rather expert opinion, Shawntelle Callahan is nothing less than a queen.

And she’s a queen on a mission, too. Even as tangled up as he is over her, he can see that. First she tries to coax him out of retirement for one last engagement. When that doesn’t work, she sets out to drive him crazy. After finally admitting that she’s a writer who’s looking to do a story on male escorts, Con realizes it will be best to just stay away from Shawntelle. Sure, she says she’s just looking for some hands-on information but he knows there’s more to it than that. There are secrets in her eyes, barely hidden lies and doubt.

My review:
The ladies have always come easy for Conner Steele and he has enjoyed every minute of it. Till now. Conner doesn’t mess where he eats. He doesn’t make time with the women that work at the bar. It’s bad for business. But if anyone can tempt him to break the rules it would be the new hire Shawntelle Callahan. But there is more to Shawntelle than meets the eye and Con is just going to have to keep it in his pants. I love the back and forth, give and take between Con and Shawntelle building up the fire between the two. I am dying to get Charli and Max’s story. While this story doesn’t have the angst of the first book F*ck Club: Riley Con managed to do to me what he does best I was quite charmed by this ladies man.

SCORE! I’ve read each and every one of these stories and they are all fantastic! Despite being sports romances they all manage to be unique. You are not going to find a better collection anywhere for any price and the fact that a portion of the proceeds go for such a great cause there is no excuse not to buy this book.
I am not going to review each story individually but I will mention a few of my favorite surprises.
BEAR NAKED, Katie Kenyhercz - I loved reading about a First Nations player and learning a bit about his culture.
COURAGE, Lena Hart – This was the only story about a married couple. I loved watching them struggle to work it out.
BLOCKED, Heather Long – I giggled my way through this bad boy does good story. A fun addition to the Royals.
CAGED, Virginia Nelson – You have to let go of the hurt to let love in.
FREE AGENT, Robin Covington – m/m This story shows the incredible courage of an out gay hockey player and the kids he is trying to reach.
THE WARM UP, Xio Axelrod – If you can read this one without tearing up you are stronger than me.
Each and every story in this collection will tug your heart strings and make you love the guys of Rage.

Cowboys Don't Ride Unicorns (Cowboys Don't #2) by Tara Lain

Blurb:
Cowboy Danny Boone—a name he made up one drunken night and has regretted ever since—harbors a big past and yearns for a small future. A short, bright career as a champion bull rider almost ended in his death when his homophobic father discovered Danny was gay. Now Danny longs for a plot of land he can build a ranch house on and enough money to make up for some of the education he missed.

Danny also hides a preference for beautiful femmes who like to top—a combo rarer than a unicorn. Then onto the guest ranch where Danny works drives San Francisco decorator Laurie Belmont, a young man so gorgeous he makes horses gasp, and so ballsy he almost kills Danny’s attacker.

Laurie’s trying to find his way out from under the thumb of a domineering mother, helpless father, and rich, privileged boyfriend.

But no matter the attraction, their lives are worlds apart, and cowboys don’t ride unicorns.

My review:
m/m
San Francisco meets California country.  Cowboys Don't Ride Unicorns is a sweet tale of an urbanite and a cowboy. San Francisco decorator Laurie Belmont may look like a twink but he prefers to top. Champion bull rider Danny Boone is a handsome hunk of cowboy and Laurie Belmont may just be his unicorn. I really like Laurie. He is who he is and is comfortable in his skin. Danny has paid the price for being gay in a homophobic sport but he too is comfortable in his skin.
This story runs the gamut of emotions from love to hate and everything in between. It is a well rounded story that will keep you entranced from the first page till the last.

Book 3: A Bar, A Brother, And A Ghost Hunt

My review:
A Voodoo Shop, A Zombie, And A Party is a fantastic addition to the Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mystery series and while it can be read standalone it would be so much better if you’ve read the previous books first.  Deanna is more comfortable in her skin in this book. Even when her powers go wonky from a spider bite and a curse she doesn’t let it get her down and that is due in large part to her crazy support system both dead and alive.  Big things both good and bad are coming Deanna’s way and she is going to need all the help she can get. This is a really good read and I highly recommend this series.

Now, he’s on a mission to show her this could be love if she only let it.

My review:
I loved this story. That being said if you haven’t read any of S.A. Price’s paranormal rock and roll books before you can still read and enjoy this but you will need to focus on Lance and Swann.  This Could Be Love is less rock and roll and more the love story of a rock star and his bosses PA. Lance is a 300+ year old vampire who has been helping newbie witch Swann Santiago deal with her burgeoning powers. Swann is Ravens twin sister but she was born without pigment which has left her feeling less than, different, a freak. She doesn’t believe she is worthy of love. Lance intends to show her different. But despite his age, occupation and life condition he is still a guy and will need some help convincing Swann she is more than worthy to be loved. I absolutely fell for both Lance and Swann and the best part of an S. A. Price book is I know we will see them in future books. All in all a really sweet and sexy read.

This paranormal cozy mystery contains cougar-shifters, shifters, lovable pit bulls, and supernatural beings.

My review:
The Money Pit is a sweet funny paranormal cozy mystery. Cougar shifter Lily Mason and her pit bull Smooshie are back in another hair raising adventure. Lily decides that the best way to protect her heart from falling for the hunky human Parker Knowles, aka her boss, aka her landlord is to get a place of her own. The fixer upper she buys just outside of town has plenty of room for her cougar and Smooshie to run. It has character and needs a lot of tlc. It also has mysteries of its own and they might just get Lily killed.
Come along with Lily, Smooshie, Parker and the 2009 3A State Football Champions to solve the mystery of Lily’s new old house.  I guarantee a fun ride.

Between Venus & Mars (Soul Mate Tree #3) by S.C. Mitchell

Blurb:
Once Upon a Galaxy . . .

Zana Starchild is on a mission to restore her tribe’s livestock and save herself from one more meal of kelp. Sure, it’s technically illegal to visit Old Earth, but to a rim rat like Zana, galactic laws are really just guidelines. Her wrecked starship just means she’ll need to use her backup plan to get off the abandoned world, an old Earth legend her uncle passed down to her.

Pulled from a relaxing shower, across the galaxy to Old Earth, Galactic Marshall Kyle Kepler finds himself naked and marooned with a quirky rim rat. Zana’s broken more laws than Kyle can count, and he plans to arrest her, just as soon as he can find transport off the planet and a pair of pants.

A junk heap of a starship, a magical tree, and a roving gang of mutant kangaroos are just the beginning of rollicking intergalactic journey filled with laughs, love, and adventure.

My review:
Between Venus & Mars is a fun addition to this loosely connected series. Zana Starchild is a sweet, snarky young woman way out of her depth but she is doing what she has to in order to save her colony. Galactic Marshall Kyle Kepler is on vacation when he is pulled into Zana’s drama. What she is doing is technically illegal but then again her colony is starving and their calls for help have gone unanswered. Kyle doesn’t know whether to arrest her or kiss her. Zana knows which she is hoping for.
This story is a rapid fire tale that will keep you flipping pages and rooting on the underdog.

Claiming Grace (Ace Security #1) by Susan Stoker

Blurb:
For Logan Anderson, moving on from a traumatic past means moving back to his hometown of Castle Rock, Colorado, to start a personal-security business with his brothers. But it’s not long before Logan runs into Grace Mason, his best friend from high school…and the woman who never answered his letters during his Army years.
Grace was pleasantly surprised to see Logan return to Castle Rock, despite their falling-out ten years ago. Everyone always assumed they would end up together, including Grace, who had eyes only for him. But as Logan eventually escaped their town, Grace got pulled further into her family’s controlling grasp—and farther away from the man she loved.
Now, united by scars both visible and not, the two must fight to free Grace from the suffocating hold of her family. But the Masons won’t let go easily—and they’ll do whatever it takes to keep the couple apart.

My review:
My apologies to all my friends that have been telling me to read Susan Stoker; Claiming Grace is the first in a series and the first I’ve read by this author. This story pulled at my heartstrings and kept me flipping pages. Logan Anderson and his brothers suffered a physically abusive parent growing up. The one thing keeping him going was the knowledge that he was leaving town as soon as he graduated from high school and his tutor in the person of Grace Mason. He was hurt when she didn’t respond to his letters and thought he’d dealt with it. Now ten years later he and his brothers are back in town and he has to deal with his feelings for Grace. There is another form of abuse that is harder to see and harder to prove and Grace has been dealing with it her whole life. She is the victim of emotional and mental abuse and is afraid for both Logan and herself. Can she let him help her escape from her controlling parents and allow them to love each other again? Claiming Grace is an emotional romantic suspense/second chance romance that will have you looking differently at the world around you. I look forward to the next installment.

Tangled Passions (Task Force Hawaii, #4) by Melissa Schroeder

Blurb:
Facing an obsessive killer proves to be easier than falling in love.

The last person Drew Franklin wants to work with is Cat Kalakau. Their history makes it difficult being in the same room, let alone being joined at the hip during a case. Months ago, they’d shared a night filled with romance and a bit more, but that ended after he was shot. Since then, even their friendship seems to have fallen apart. But he will do his job, even if spending more time with her is killing him.

Working with Drew every day reminds Cat she’s to blame for his injury. It doesn’t matter that she wants him more than her next breath, or that every time he looks at her she melts into a puddle of lust. She needs to resist her own desires to protect him as they hunt a serial killer targeting wealthy men signed up for dating services.

Soon though, their time together proves to be too much. One fight leads to a kiss, which leads to so much more. Neither of them is prepared for the overwhelming need they have for each other or the connection they seem to have. But when Cat realizes Drew is the object of the killer’s obsession, she will do anything to protect him even if it means sacrificing her life for his.

My review:
Tangled Passions is Drew and Cat’s story. This book can be read standalone but is better if you’ve read the earlier books. Cat is a kick ass cop but not so good with the touchy feely stuff. Drew comes from a big family. He is okay with the touchy feely stuff but can’t get past the hurt of Cat deserting him after a night of passion that had him on cloud nine until he got shot by a maniac who was after another team member. He doesn’t understand why Cat refused to see him in the hospital or see him during his recovery. Well he is back to work and she isn’t going to be able to avoid him forever.
Drew and Cat complete each other. They are each good at the parts where the other falls short. I loved watching them find their way to each other again. While this isn’t my favorite of the series it is still a fun read.

F*ck Club: Riley (F*ck Club #1) by Shiloh Walker

Blurb:

"The first rule of F*ck Club...we don’t talk about it. We just do the job and get paid."

And Riley Steele did his job very well. He’ll be the first to admit that his current life isn’t the one he’d foreseen. It’s not even one he really wants, but after his parents died and he was left to care for two siblings and a mountain of debt, he was willing to do almost anything.

Now, after almost ten years of being paid to pleasure, he’s almost numb to it…and to women.

That all changes with one phone call. Brianna Sharpe, the girl he’d loved as a boy, is leaving an abusive lover and needs someplace to hide.

Opening his home to Bree is easy. Protecting his heart is a different story. She’d completely shattered it once already. But Bree has changed and Riley wants to think there might be a chance. Only...what will she do when she discovers his secrets?

My review:
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I guess I wasn’t expecting to like Riley as much as I did. I mean come on he is a male prostitute. But I really liked him and was thrilled to see him get a second chance at love. This is a well written story that will keep you engrossed till the very end and after.

Treat Me, Thrill Me: One Night with Sole Regret Anthology (One Night with Sole Regret #8-9) by Olivia Cunning

Treat Me, Thrill Me: One Night with Sole Regret Anthology (One Night with Sole Regret #8-9)
by Olivia Cunning

Blurb:
This volume includes two novels -#8 and #9- from the best-selling One Night with Sole Regret serial series.
In TREAT ME, Sole Regret's sexy vocalist, Jacob "Shade" Silverton, spends a perfect weekend with his new girlfriend Amanda, and his young daughter. He is ready to come clean with his ex and let her know he's dating her sister, but Amanda doubts their relationship will survive her sister's scorn. Will their dirty little secret be their undoing?
In THRILL ME, Sole Regret's sweet bassist, Owen "Tags" Mitchell, has found his perfect match. Caitlyn is smart, fun, and has a list of sexual fantasies he's prepared to fulfill. Unfortunately, a pregnant groupie is convinced he's the father of her baby and is determined to make him hers. Will Caitlyn be willing to stick around despite his unwanted responsibilities?

My review:
Two sexy, action packed adventures from the guys of Sole Regret.  Warning neither of these stories has a HEA or even a HFN but you know there has to be at some point. In the first of these two installments we watch Sole Regret's sexy vocalist, Jacob "Shade" Silverton fall off the deep end which is a change because he usually has it pretty much together. Watching him with his daughter is sweet watching his ex screw him over not so much. In the second we watch Sole Regret's sweet bassist, Owen "Tags" Mitchell caught between what he wants and what he should do. Can he make a go of it with Caitlyn? Is the baby really his? And what the heck is going on with Kellan? I look forward to the resolution to both these stories.
I’ll admit I would have liked this a whole bunch more if it weren’t in this format but the stories sucked me in and made me want to know more.

Her Rebel Heart (The Officers' Ex-Wives Club #1) by Jamie Farrell

Blurb:
The laugh-out-loud, heart-tugging standalone prequel romance in the bestselling Officers’ Ex-Wives Club series!
This sexy military pilot is about to meet his match in an unpredictable physics professor!
Kaci Boudreaux is every Southern mama’s nightmare, including her own. This former Miss Grits would rather tromp around in boots shooting off potato guns—and her mouth—than dress pretty and play nice with the boys. Especially her chauvinistic fellow professors, her ex-husband, and those military cargo pilots she accidentally started a war with.
Lance Wheeler is every Southern belle’s dream, except his ex-fiancé’s. After being left at the altar, he’d love to take his C-130 and fly far, far away. But since his bird technically belongs to Uncle Sam (as does he), a distraction in the form of a feisty fireball of a physics professor will do while he’s waiting for his next deployment with the Air Force.
He’s into her for the fun. She’s into him for the challenge. But when their secrets start slipping out, their hearts will be on the line. She needs roots. He wants to see the world. What will they do about needing each other?

My review:
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!! I giggled. I grrrred. And I belly laughed out loud. I fell so hard for Kaci Boudreaux that Captain Lance Wheeler could have been a total waste and I would still have loved this book. But he isn’t. Lance is kind, patient, and a total stud. His only shortcoming as far as I can tell is that he is a Bama fan. Honestly for a good time read Her Rebel Heart.

Thunder Wolf (Wolves of Willow Bend #11) by Heather Long

Blurb:
Most Lone Wolves have a story--a pack they left behind, a love they lost, or worse, one they buried. Some leave their packs to roam because they crave freedom, and independence. Some leave because in their hearts, they can't bear to stay. Some leave because they see no way to go back...
Enforcer John Nelson has pulled double duty for months, keeping an eye on the Lone Wolves who are his charges as well as those that once answered to Margo Montgomery. More of a loner than most, he doesn't mind going months at a time without seeing another Enforcer as was his typical pattern or at least it was until the formation of the Three Rivers pack disrupted lives everywhere. Now he must divide his time between watching the upstarts and checking on his charges while working with the other Enforcers to anticipate the next move by the Russian Volchitsa. No Enforcer expected to find themselves among the hunted, but when they target the one wolf he can tolerate, John defies orders to go after her.
Hadley Sexton is a bit of a wild card even for an Enforcer, and she loves being unpredictable. More of a mother hen than she likes to admit, she keeps an eye on her Lone Wolves, and treats them more like family than charges...but when three Enforcers are brutally murdered over the course of three weeks, Hadley discovers someone has been shadowing her trail and they aren't alone. It is a dangerous game with a brutal enemy, one willing to kill the wolves she's sworn to protect to draw her out.
For Hadley, John will break every rule, but will he be in time?

My review:
Thunder Wolf is a terrific story that I probably rushed through hoping to get to the next book which is the story I’ve been waiting for. Julians book is coming! But enough of that. Thunder Wolf is pretty heavy. There is a lot going on in the enforcers attempt to avoid all out war with the Russian Volchitsa. Enforcer Hadley Sexton is doing her job when she and her charges are attacked by members of the Volchitsa. One of her wolves is killed and two are seriously wounded. She is pissed off. She moves her charges to safe locations and hopes to lure the Volchitsa away from the others by using herself as bait. It works but just as she is pinning a Volchitsa to question Enforcer John Nelson comes in and kills it thinking he is saving Hadley. John and Hadley work together to discover the Volchitsa’s plans. In doing so they discover each other as well. We learn a lot more about Chief Enforcer Julian as well. This book reads like a paranormal James Bond novel with humor and love. I loved it and can’t wait for the next.

How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days (The Embraced #1) by Kerrelyn Sparks

Blurb:
Luciana grew up on the Isle of Moon, hidden away because of her magical powers. But when her father arrives, he offers her a choice: remain on the island or return with him and marry the Beast of Benwick in order to save their legacy—and her father's life.
Lord Leofric, the Beast of Benwick, has not been touched since he was a child. Born with the power to harness lightning, he is a danger to everyone he touches. When he meets his betrothed, he expects a loveless, lonely marriage...until he discovers she's vastly more powerful than he realized. But is she strong enough to withstand his touch?
If they can survive, their love will alter the future of the kingdom. But will their extraordinary powers cost them everything?

My review:
Beauty and the Beast move over. How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days is the first in a new romantic paranormal fantasy world. There is something for everyone; magic, love, angst, ghosts, elves, good guys and bad, intrigue and murder. Kerrelyn Sparks has created a wonderful world where women are strong, good guys win and love trumps hate. I fell into this book and couldn’t get out till the very last page. I am so looking forward to my next trip into this exciting world.

Her True Match (X-Ops #6) by Paige Tyler

Blurb:
After a long game of cat-and-mouse

Feline shifter Dreya Clark picks the wrong penthouse to rob and ends up arrested by sexy detective Braden Hayes. But Braden isn’t the only one who’s been watching the cat burglar. Agents from the Department of Covert Operations swoop in to offer her a deal. If she wants to stay out of jail, she’ll have to work with them—and pair up with the hot cop. Great.

Danger throws this unlikely pair together

Braden isn’t thrilled about the DCO meddling in his investigation. He’s been chasing Dreya for years. Thrown together on a dangerous covert mission, fur flies and temperatures flare. But when danger closes in on them, their game of cat and mouse turns deadly-serious, and they’ll have to rely on each other to make it out alive.

My review:
WOW! This book is a fast paced whirlwind that will suck you in and not let you go even after the last page has been turned.
The crook and the cop. We first met Dreya and Braden in HER ROGUE ALPHA. Dreya had to hide out for a bit but now she is back and up to her old tricks. Cop Braden Hayes hoped that she had given up her risky behavior after losing her mentor and almost getting killed herself but here she is doing an impossible mission type burglary and he is going to arrest her this time. Dreya is scared, for the first time she has been righteously caught red handed by the hot cop. They are both pissed off and confused when the DCO claims her. Dreya and Braden are both in for a world of surprises not the least of which is falling for each other.
This story opens up a whole new arc for the X-Ops series and I for one can’t wait to see where the author takes us. Strap in for a hell of a ride.

Private Reserve by Cathryn Fox

Blurb:
Olivia was the best thing that ever happened to me. But she’s a good girl, and I have a side that is far too dark for a minister’s daughter. When she started talking about plans after graduation, the only thing I could do was run back to Italy—to protect her from me. But she’s back in my life, and I need a wife before I can take full ownership of our failing vineyard and hotel. Only problem is, I want her again. No way can I put my hands on her. One kiss, one taste, could unleash the side of me that would only scare her.
If she discovers my dark side, I don’t know if she’ll flee back to the states, or surrender to me. What she doesn’t know is she already owns me, and if she leaves, I’ll never be the same.

My review:
m/f, m/m, mfm
Private Reserve by Cathryn Fox is a sexy romp that reminds us how very important communication is in a relationship. Olivia was a minister’s daughter and thus in Gio’s mind a good girl and he treated her as such. But he has dark desires and so left her and breaking her heart. Olivias’ friends set her up with what was supposed to be a sexy vacation as a birthday gift. But in reality they’ve sent her to stay at Gios’ vineyard for three weeks. Their rediscovering the love they still have for each other with a push from Gios’ male lover Lucas makes for a steaming hot read. This fast paced read will get your heart and libido pumping.

This title was previously featured in the Shifters and Spice Box Set

My review:
Love sneaks up on you when you least expect it.  Bear shifter Tobias Langstreet finds this out when he meets rancher Harriet Mills who is having a bit of trouble but is determined to keep the family ranch going. Tobias is like the answer to a prayer. Bear Faced Lies is a sweet PNR with a bit of mystery thrown in. Great for a quick escape.

Into the Fire (Night Prince #4) by Jeaniene Frost

Blurb:
In the explosive finale to New York Times bestselling author Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince series, Vlad is in danger of losing his bride to an enemy whose powers might prove greater than the Prince of Vampire’s….
In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.
For nearly six hundred years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlad’s new bride against him.
A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila’s closest friends against them…and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

My review:
Well worth the wait. Vlad Tepesh (don’t call me Dracula) is a bad a$$. But now he has a weakness. He loves his wife and would raze the world should anything happen to her. His nephew/stepson Mircea is hellbent on revenge for perceived slights but goes wrong and now he and Leila are linked blood and flesh. Vlad can’t kill Mircea without killing Leila and vice versa.  So now Vlad and Leila and friends are scouring the world to find a way to break the link. There are a lot of HOLY CRAP! moments in this book so watch where you put your drink. I look forward to seeing where we go next in this insane world the author has created.
