Wolf Fever (Alpha Project #1) by Milly Taiden

Blurb:
Changes she can't understand…
When Raine Bowe volunteers for a sleep study for the extra cash, she didn't expect to wake in a lab or to be victimized by a mad scientist. She escapes with one objective--to find someone strong enough to wage war with the evil growing inside her.

A job he won't accept…
Ryder Storm is a man with a reputation--the bad boy of his own universe. He doesn't take prisoners, won't give into a sweet smile, and doesn't cut his pack an inch of slack. He knows the desperate woman in his bar is his the moment he lays eyes on her. He'll give her anything she wants, except the one thing she's begging for. Death.

Passion neither can fight…
Raine enlists Ryder’s help to unravel the mystery surrounding the hours she lost in the lab and to help tame the beast inside her. In their search for answers, the road will lead them to a twisted experiment involving shifters, humans, and the creation of the ultimate Alpha. He's ready for the adventure and she's ready for her answers. Neither are ready for the lust that calls down from the mating moon. But a wolf knows its mate, and an alpha will not stop until he or she gets what they want.

Mature reader warning: Adult content including but not limited to: Violence and raw sexual language and actions.

My review:
Milly Taiden writes hot sexy shifter stories and this is one of her best.  Our heroine is a woman with the unfortunate name of Raine Bowe.  She volunteered for a sleep study and got turned into an alpha werewolf.  She escapes and looks to our hero Ryder Storm to kill her to prevent her from becoming a monster.  The problem with that is Ryder is a werewolf himself and she is his mate.  So it is up to him to convince her that being a werewolf and being with him wouldn’t be so bad.  There is action, adventure and off the charts sex.  A super fun read.

Her Wicked Ride by Tilly Greene

Blurb:
Brian Mulligan fixes cars. He rides a Harley, is covered in tattoos and has spent time in jail. Since being released he’s tried to live a clean life, but he’s a bad boy with women, very bad and terribly sexy. Bondage, domination, and so much more, are his preferences when playing with the ladies, and there have been a variety until the last one.

For the first time, he had to work for a yes. All summer, they’ve had fabulously wild no-holds-barred sex, but one morning everything changes. With chaos in the garage, a cup of coffee in hand, and a half-naked Sherry Gonzales in his lap, his eyes are opened to wanting more with her. Brian’s solution is to go on a date, their first date.

The night starts out fine. They get wicked on the back of his bike before the nights takes a turn, but for the good or bad?

Note from Author: Her Wicked Ride, a contemporary erotic romance + D/s and tattoos, is 24k words and this is its first release.

My review:
Another sweet and sexy read from Tilly Greene.  I am conflicted. I loved the hero a bad boy trying to be a good man and dealing with being in love for the first time.  I wasn’t so thrilled with his leading lady.  Sherry didn’t strike me as submissive just a pushover.  I like my leading ladies with a bit more spine.  The story is good and has some great secondary characters that I would love to find out more about.

Give Up the Ghost (Phantoms #2) by Kelly Moran

Blurb:
Sometimes the only way to find love is to face death...

Paranormal investigator Kerry Baker has seen it all. But nothing in her work with the Phantoms team prepares her for the most terrifying ghost of all―seeing her doppelganger. Rumored to be a foreshadowing of one's death, the spectre shakes Kerry to the core...sending her into the arms of her best friend and fellow Phantom cast member, Paul Leake, for comfort.
Until a kiss changes everything.
Paul has been in love with Kerry for ages, unwilling to compromise their friendship. As their investigation in a ghost town grows more intense, however, so does the chemistry between Paul and Kerry. With her life in danger and their jobs on the line, giving into their attraction couldn't be a worse idea―and yet they can't bring themselves to stop it. Even if it kills her...

My review:
This is better than the first one!  I loved this book.  Kerry is strong and a bit damaged and who wouldn’t fall for the sexy geek Paul.  This is a fun friends to lovers tale with a fab mystery.  I recommend reading Ghost of a Promise (Phantoms #1) first so you can get a feel for the way the Phantoms team works but you can read this stand alone.  I couldn’t put it down. Go get this book.

Witches Be Burned (Magic & Mayhem #2) by Stacey Kennedy

Blurb:
In Stacey Kennedy’s steamy paranormal romance novel, a rookie guardian sworn to combat the undead risks life and love in a world of violence, witchcraft, and seduction.

Nexi Jones has lost her family, she’s been stripped of her guardian duties, and she’s still learning the ins and outs of white magic. At least she has Kyden, the smoldering hot elite guardian who’s been there for her every step of the way. But just as Nexi completes her training, tragedy strikes the Otherworld when a fellow guardian is murdered by a group of rogue vampires. Ready or not, she and Kyden trek into the Earthworld to hunt down a killer—and Nexi alone will be put to the ultimate test.

Although Kyden knows that Nexi must fight her own battles, his guardian instincts are raging as he struggles to keep her close. The ruthlessness of these vampires is like nothing he’s ever seen. And at their helm is the Black Witch Astoria, a demon with one burning desire: to shed Nexi’s blood in the name of vengeance. What troubles Kyden even more, though, is the warlock who covets Nexi’s heart. Let the devil do his worst . . . all Kyden can do is love and protect Nexi until his last breath.

My review:
Do you want to take a screaming roller coaster ride through a world with witches, werewolves, vampires and other supernatural creatures exist?  This is not your everyday paranormal fantasy.  Stacey Kennedy has created a fantastic world where the impossible happens with astonishing regularity. Witches Be Burned is a believable tale with politics, back biting and romance .  Witches Be Burned is the second in the series but can be read stand alone.  The prolog gives you the high points from the first book.  So, strap in and get ready for a fun ride.

50 Ways to Ruin a Rake (Rakes and Rogues #1) by Jade Lee

Blurb:

Mellie has a plan…

Mellie Smithson is trapped in the country with no suitors and no prospects on the horizon except, perhaps, the exasperating—although admittedly handsome—guest of her father. She's looking for any excuse to go to London to meet more eligible men.

Trevor has a problem…

Trevor Anaedsley's grandfather has cut off his funds until such time as he gets engaged. Trevor escapes to the country—ostensibly to visit his old tutor, Mr. Smithson, but actually to duck his creditors—where he meets Smithson's lovely daughter, Mellie. The obvious solution is suddenly before him—but the lady has ideas of her own, and Trevor's going to have to measure up…

My Review:

This is said to be the first in a series and it can be read standalone but we meet up with Radley and Wendy from What A Groom Wants (Bridal Favors #4).
Trevor is a future Duke.  He has been taken to task by his Grandfather the current Duke who has ordered him to find a wife and has cut off funds until he gets engaged.  Mellie Smithson is the bright daughter of his tutor, a wealthy mill owner and scientist. She wants to go to London to find a husband and he needs a fiancé. The plan isn’t perfect but it sure is fun.
Jade Lee writes a fun, smart historical that will keep you turning pages.

A Leopard's Path (Ashwood Falls #5) by Lia Davis

Blurb:
Stolen from her family as an infant, Ana Darwin-Andrews has to piece together her past and present. Her whole life is a lie. There’s only one man she feels she can trust, but even he has secrets.

Kieran Michaels keeps a tight lid on his past, but the Onyx Alpha knows his darkest secrets. Kieran will stop at nothing to destroy the rogue before the past is reveled. Ana can never discover his hands are as bloodstained as their enemy’s, because life without her is not an option.

My review:
This book will be so much better if you have read the earlier ones in this series.
Ana was stolen away as a baby and raised in the enemy camp.  She has recently come home to her true father and family.  Along with her came the spy who is her true mate but for some reason he is putting off their mating and she has about had it.  Sure there is a war going on and she has yet to reveal all that she can do but she is only following the paths she was raised with.  She may never truly fit in but mating with Kieran could only help right?
This wasn’t my favorite of the Ashwood Falls books but it wasn’t bad either.  I like Ana but Kieran didn’t do a whole lot for me. I really want Jareds book and this sets that up; hopefully soon.

Show Me the Honey: Sweet & Dirty BBW Romance by Cathryn Cade

Blurb:
When a small town cafe owner is grabbed by a rambling biker looking for nearly a million in stolen cash, she must convince him to let her go. But finding out he has the wrong woman only makes him more determined to hang onto her ... this time for all the right reasons.
Lindi Carson has no time for romance in her life--not when she's scrambling to make a success of her Coeur d’Alene Lake shore café. She's barely keeping her head above water when biker Jack Moran hits town, sure she knows where to find nearly a million in stolen cash. When Jack grabs her, Lindi must convince him he has the wrong woman.
But Jack's not the only one after the money, and someone is willing to kill to get it. With murder lurking in this idyllic resort town and a dangerous MC on the prowl, Jack must persuade Lindi she belongs not only under his protection … but in his arms. He'll use every ounce of his rough charm to get her, but he may have to battle old ghosts to keep her there.
Can he convince her that love's sweetness is worth the sting?
A Sweet & Dirty BBW Romance

Can he convince her that love's sweetness is worth the sting?

My review:
Do you like alpha, sexy, dirty talking guys with a bit of swagger?  Then you will love Jack. Jack is an interesting character.  He has a lot of characteristics that normally would set me off but they are offset by a sense of honor and the fact that he can and does apologize when he is in the wrong.  Lindi is a young woman forced to grow up way to young.  She is naïve in some ways and ancient in others but in the end the bad boy just does it for her.
This is a fun, fast paced read that I devoured in one sitting.  Grab a tall cold drink, a fan, and get ready for some seriously sweet & dirty romance.  I am looking forward to Keys story as he really intrigued me.

For those who have yet to experience the craziness that is the Accidentally Paranormal Series by Dakota Cassidy she has put out this free book to get you caught up as she enters a new phase with the gals of OOPS. I really have to wonder about an author interviewing her characters and taking backtalk (Nina) from them.  If you haven’t read the Accidentally Paranormal Series(you really should) by Dakota Cassidy then this should help you catch up just in time for the next in the series Accidentally Aphrodite.

A Wolf Awakens (Black Hills Wolves Book 18) by Cam Cassidy

Blurb:
Death is not always an ending.

When the dreams first began, Angeni Sweet thought they were just that…dreams. Born with the gift of a medium, she quickly realized the truth—when she last entered the spiritual world, something returned inside her. Waking with bruises and daytime flashes of pain, the dark spirit makes himself known. His face, his name, a place. He leads her, and she has no choice but follow.

Believe in nothing.

Despite living in Los Lobos his entire life, Jaxon Boone has few things he believes in—his favorites being cold beer and hot women. Those beliefs change. When Drew demands he take the beautiful stranger, Ange, to an isolated cabin in the woods for the good of the pack, he learns that the things not seen are the most powerful.

The battle begins.

Fighting against the malevolent spirit of Magnum as he tries to push his way back to world, Ange fears it won’t be enough. Will Jax find the belief in needs in time to save not only the pack but the woman that quickly becomes the center of his world?

My review:
A Wolf Awakens takes a lot of twists and turns.  Angeni Sweet is a true psychic.  Jaxon Boone doesn’t believe in psychics.  He is blown away when he finds out that his mate claims to be one.  Angeni has seen visions of former psycho alpha Magnum. Jaxon knows he is dead.  Can these to find out what is real and be together?  Find out in this fast paced romp into possibilities.
I had my doubts when I started this but in the end I couldn’t put it down.  It ended a little abruptly but all in all a fascinating read.

Nordic Heat by Lizzie T. Leaf

Nordic Heat by Lizzie T. Leaf

Blurb:
If her family isn’t enough of a headache, Chief Meteorologist for a New York City television station, Isabella Girardi, is assigned a hot, new team member. The heartthrob’s good looks and smooth manner makes her go weak in the knees when she’s close to him. Problem is, Galvin Haldor is also nuts. He lives in a delusional world where he thinks he’s a Nordic god.
Being the youngest son of Thor, the Nordic god of Thunder, has always created issues for Galvin Haldor. Tired of the fights with his father, and his mother pushing him to marry one of the boring females in the godly realm, he directs his attention to earth. When he sees the beautiful Isabella, she becomes the one for him.
Can the mismatched pair get beyond their physical attraction, and family objections to the find the true love they both crave? Or is their relationship a passing fling?

My review:
With humor and sensitivity Lizzie T. Leaf  brings us a wonderfully sexy tale of love  between a human meteorologist and the son of Thor.  When these two meet it is destined.  But Thor wants to prevent his son from the heartbreak loving a human can bring and gets creative with his efforts.  You will enjoy the role Loki plays and there is fun to be had from several pantheons.  This is a fast paced well written romp that makes me want to revisit.  I look forward to finding out who Isabella’s friends have hooked up with.

Sugarbaby by Crystal Green

Blurb:
Hasn’t anyone heard the saying “nobody’s perfect”? Apparently, a lot of people in my hometown of Aidan Falls haven’t…

Don’t get me wrong. Most of the locals here are perfectly nice. But certain close-minded ex-classmates have a problem with the fact that I cheated on my jock-star football boyfriend on one drunk, stupid night. And no one likes to see a local hero embarrassed.

But everything changed when I accidentally sent a “sext” to the wrong number—and ended up sharing some flirty exchanges. So when the mysterious, sexy Noah Reeves shows up at my job, I’m a bit shocked.

You see, Noah’s a billionaire businessman who famously disappeared after a competitor kicked him out of his own family’s company. Why would he want to meet me? I don’t see anything special in the mirror.

But Noah may just be able to disprove the old adage that mirrors don’t lie…

My review:
To be honest it took a bit for me to get into this book.  I would pick it up read a chapter or two then put it down to read something else but somewhere along the line it pulled me in and I couldn’t put it down.  I think the problem I had in the beginning is the angst tone of our leading lady.  But she pulls it together and so does this story.  Once it gets going this is a sweet and sassy love story well worth the read.

Some Like it Easy (Going Royal #5) by Heather Long

Blurb:
He’s lived the good life…

Cut off from his finances and ordered get his life together, George Dagmar registers for university in New York. College life, as it turns out, isn’t so bad. He can party, meet lots of girls, and hang out—at least according to professional student and artist, Penny Novak. When they tangle in the sheets, George quickly realizes she is more than an affair…

She lives life on her terms…

Penny enjoys a bohemian lifestyle and plans to live as a poor artist for the rest of her life, answering to no one but her muse. Spoiled George doesn’t impress her, but when her sister asks her to keep an eye on the brat prince, Penny can’t help but tweak his royal nose. When he rises to the occasion and proves he can be funny and charming, they hit the sheets. Reveling in their carefree affair, Penny has no complaints until George slips and declares his love. Galvanized by fear of a set in stone future, this commitment-phobe bolts…

Changing the rules…

He’s never wanted anyone the way he wants her. George will go to any length to prove they were meant to be together. Even grow up…

My review:
FANTASTIC!  It’s tough being the baby of the family.  In George’s case he is the spare to the spare heir.  His brothers make him feel like he is unneeded; not on purpose but because he is the youngest and has no life plan.  In Penny’s case she rebels because she isn’t perfect like her elder siblings.  So is it any wonder that these two should be perfect for each other?  That is if they get out their own way.  Love for these two is anything but easy.
Heather Long has done a terrific job of bringing Penny and George to life.  They may be my favorite couple yet.  Though this book is part of a series it can be read stand alone.

Gemini Rising (Tempting Signs #3) by Ranae Rose

Blurb:
12 Authors. 12 Zodiac Signs. 1 Explosive Series. What seductive, contemporary romance will you find today? GEMINI.

Whoever said fighters can’t be lovers was never a fighter. Any fighter knows that to succeed, he has to be honest with himself – brutally honest. A real fighter knows his strengths, his weaknesses. And he fights and lives with them in mind, no holds barred.

Grant’s weakness is Daniel, an up-and-coming welterweight who once lived, breathed and trained with him before skipping town for the West Coast. Daniel’s weakness is Grant, a light heavyweight champion who disrupted Daniel’s life with an addictive intensity he’s never found in anyone else.

Lila is a woman who grew up cageside and inhabits the same world as Grant and Daniel, a rose among thorns. She’s completely unlike the women they’re used to. And when they’re honest with themselves, they know she’s what they need to be complete.

My review:
 mmf
Gemini Rising may be the most erotic book by Ranae Rose that I’ve read and I have read most of her backlist.  This book is full of surprises.  I didn’t expect to like Grant as much as I did but he stood up and stood out.  Lila is a lucky girl ending up with these two Gemini. Warning the sex is messy and smoking hot. There is nothing I didn’t like about this book from the sizzling cover to the very end except that I might have liked to spend more time with these characters.

The Wolf and the Butterfly (Black Hills Wolves) by Kerry Adrienne

Blurb:
Nika, the pack’s newest scout, wants nothing more than to please his Alpha. When he discovers a beautiful, and very sick, stranger in the woods outside Los Lobos, he finds himself torn between his duty and his hormones. The stranger carries a deadly wolf virus—one that hasn’t been seen in the Black Hills in ages.

Kimi, a Lakota Sioux, is dying. She’s transported herself forward in time, hoping to find the cure to the illness that’s stricken her tribe. Her only chance for survival is to trust Nika, even if she’s not used to having help.

To find the cure and save the pack, Nika and Kimi must travel to a time long ago—before the Lakota populated the Black Hills—a time filled with dangers neither can imagine. Their growing attraction may save them, or kill them both.

My review:
One of the things I love about this series is that with each book being written by a different author you are never sure what you are going to get.  It’s like a mixed box of chocolates.
The Wolf and the Butterfly tells the story of Kimi, a female wolf shifter from the past that shows up on Los Lobos lands and Nika, the pack’s newest scout. When Kimi shows up he knows the routine.  He has had it drilled into him over and over but when the girl shows up and is obviously ill he thinks he can handle it on his own.  Doing so may cost him his life and surely didn’t endear him to the alpha.   Kimi is ill and the cure has become extinct.  So she and Nika have to travel to the past for the cure.
I am not usually one for time travel stories but this was a lot of fun.  Filled with young love, action and adventure.

Deadly Force (Southern California Violent Crimes Taskforce #3) by Misty Evans

Blurb:
For fans of Scandal, Graceland, and NCIS!
The third installment in the USA TODAY bestselling Southern California Violent Crimes Taskforce romantic suspense series.
Other books in the SCVC Taskforce series:
Deadly Pursuit
Deadly Deception

Some secrets can kill…

NSA agent Bianca Marx is determined to save her marriage, even if it kills her. Which it just might do since she knows a secret about her estranged husband’s latest mission. A highly-skilled assassin is hot on her trail and the only man who can keep her safe doesn’t want anything to do with her.

She’ll be dead in 24 hours…unless he can save her.

After his marriage failed, Navy SEAL Callan Reese threw himself into his work. On his last black ops mission, three of his men—three good men who counted on him—were killed. Now PTSD and a military investigation have sidelined him…until Bianca shows up. She claims someone high up in the US government wants her dead, and the assassin after her is also after him.

The couple that spies together, dies together…

On the run from the very government they serve, Bianca and Cal only have each other. When they uncover a deadly scandal threatening the nation, they’ll have one chance to save the day…and one last chance at love.

My review:
I really like this series and although this book is only peripherally a Southern California Violent Crimes Taskforce book the folks from the Taskforce show to help one of their own.  This is part of a series but can be read standalone.  I was wishy washy about Callan Reese until about halfway in.  He has been hurt by war, his wife and his own decisions.  Bianca has gifts and quirks but he has known and dealt with those since the fifth grade.  They love each other but may not get the chance to straighten things out between them if he can’t keep her and her brain alive.  Someone is out to kill her and ruin him.  This story is filled with twists and turns and a whole lot of action.  Another fun read from Misty Evans.

Her Wild Hero (X-Ops #3) by Paige Tyler

Blurb:

Name: Kendra Carlsen
Rank: Trainer, Dept. of Covert Ops
Objective: Get out of the office and into the field

Name: Declan MacBride
Rank: Munitions Expert, Dept. of Covert Ops
Status: Bear Shifter
Objective: Protect Kendra at all costs

The steamy Costa Rican jungle brings out the bear in Declan MacBride when he and new operative Kendra Carlsen are ambushed. In the midst of relying on each other to survive, and fighting his explosive attraction to Kendra, this shifter is about to lose control...

My review:
Kendra & Declan have been my favorites in this series (along with John Loughlin) so I’ve anxiously awaited their story.  I was not disappointed.  Kendra may work behind a desk and been a total idiot for preferring the wolf over the bear but when they finally get together it is explosive! Declan may have issues but the big ol teddy bear is my kind of hero. Action, adventure and love it is all in Her Wild Hero.

Blurb:
The man everybody wants. The woman he can't resist. The dom who masters both.

Women can’t keep their hands off billionaire Damien Call. The mysterious mogul has it all: fast cars, killer looks, and a brain that just might be his best asset.

Mia Beck loves her job at a PI firm. Her coworker Jake stars in most of her daydreams, so seeing him everyday is no hardship.

Jake hasn’t believed in human goodness since he worked black ops for the CIA. Romancing innocent Mia is unthinkable, no matter how enticingly submissive she seems to be. Then a case of corporate espionage forces them to pose as a dom/sub duo, to catch the eye of accused wrongdoer Damien. No fantasy is off limits for this voyeur—until the attraction the pair exerts lures him to go hands on . . .

My review:

I have a new favorite Emma Holly book!  Beck & Call is sweetly sensuous and sizzlingly erotic.  This ménage is filled with twists and turns and smoking hot encounters.  These three are amazing together.  Of course starting a relationship under false pretenses is going to bite them but what they have to figure out is which is more important pride or love.  If you liked Fairyville (my previous favorite) you are going to love Beck & Call!

My review:
 mmmf
Fun, Hot, Sexy this can be said about any book by Cheryl Dragon and it is true in this case too.  Though this is the third in the series it can be read stand alone.  This is a second chance romance polyamory style.  Polyamorous relationships aren’t frowned upon in Sterling Alaska dating back to the days when the male to female ratio was ridiculous. When you grow up with it it becomes the norm and so it is in Sterling.  Paramedic Tiffany James grew up in Sterling and had a crush on Sean and Mick up until they left town without her and didn’t keep in touch.  She hasn’t had much luck dating but she hasn’t given up.  Why just the other day she slipped her number to the cute new cop.  True he hasn’t called but she hasn’t given up.  Now Mick and Sean are back in town and the cute new cop, Phil, is with them and they want Tiff.  She wants the same but needs to get over the hurt their leaving caused her plus she doesn’t know how the dynamics of a poly relationship works.  Boy do they have fun figuring it out.  Alaska may be cold but the folks in Sterling are keeping each other warm.

Stark Surrender; the Space Magnate's Bride (LodeStar Book 4) by Cathryn Cade

Blurb:
He climbed from the slums of New Seattle to a life of power and wealth ... but now he must survive those cruel streets again, without even his memories to guide him.

Logan Stark has fallen from his throne at the pinnacle of a financial empire spanning the galaxy. He's lost in the filthy, crime-ridden streets of New Seattle, Earth II. Even worse, he has no memory of who he is, or how he got here. But the worst villain in the history of this city knows exactly who he is ... and Mordacity is after Stark.

Kiri te Nawa swore she'd never return to the place where she lost everything. But to help find the man she can't forget, she must put aside her new life on Frontiera and accompany his brothers back to New Seattle. Will they find Stark before he is claimed by the surging darkness in his mind, or by death?

My review:
I’ve waited for this book since reading the first in the series Stark Pleasure; the Space Magnate's Mistress (LodeStar #1) and it was worth the wait.  This book can be read standalone but you will enjoy it more if you read the others in this series first.
I love Kiri and have enjoyed watching her grow throughout the series. Now it is Logan’s turn to grow and it may mean going back to his beginning to do it. There are some tough scenes in this book but they have to happen in order to know where Logan came from so you can see just how far he has come.
This book is a smoking hot Sci-Fi romance that I just couldn’t get enough of.  I am looking forward to more adventures in this realm.

When she finds the injured deer, which ends up being a sick fawn in the back yard of the sexiest Wood Elf she’s ever seen, she knows something is up.

Owen Foster is in love, well, at least lust at first sight. The blonde-haired goddess standing in his backyard is every man’s fantasy come true; until she opens her mouth and accuses him of being a crappy elf. He can overlook that misguided belief as he helps her care for the fawn, but when her youngest sister shows up and acts like they’re together, he’ll have to go to desperate measures to prove they aren’t.

A meddling mother dabbling with faerie magic, the worst storm they’ve ever seen, along with a bear and a fawn—will these two be able to turn their instant attraction into a love of a lifetime?

NOTE: Mystic Zodiac is a 12 book series. It is NOT a serial. Each book ends in a happily ever after for the main couple. However, the prologue and epilogue of each story follows the Gods that kick off the series, Eros and Chlotho (aka Chloe). At the end of the series the bet between the two will come to a conclusion.

My review:
Once again Ms. Walker gives us a steamy fun tale of love.  In this book we get a better look at Eros and Chloe’s relationship and we meet fairy Celeste Kincaid and wood elf Owen Foster a pair destined to be together but without a nudge they will never meet.  So nudges are provided. I loved Celeste from the start but it took a bit for me to like Owen.  By the end I was in love.  This is a terrific addition to this very loosely connected series.

Beyond Magic (Magical Love #1) by Lizzie T. Leaf

Blurb:
Following the Powers directive to unite soul mates, a Scottish Cailleach's magic will have repercussions in several realms. Mixed-blood Ian McCabe, grandson of Fae and gods tries to deny his powers. When he discovers mortal, Emma Grant unconscious at the bottom of the steps to his castle, his world starts to change. Tour director Emma Grant's bus breaks down and her effort to find help results in a fall that knocks her unconscious. She awakens to find the man of her dreams staring into her eyes.

But will his secrets and her distrust of men tear them apart?

My review:
Beyond Magic is a modern day fairy tale complete with fairies, gods, demi-gods, witches and other super natural folk and mixtures thereof.   It is also filled with the emotions that go with like jealousy, anger, resentment, loneliness and love.  In other words it has all the makings for a great story and Lizzie T. Leaf does not let us down.  This book is well rounded with humor, characters you love, characters you hate and characters you love to hate.

Blurb:
Small-town sheriff, Mike Hadley, would love to experience a headache-free day for once in his life. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen anytime soon. While investigating a rash of disappearances and dealing with his ornery lover, he’s thrown into a whole new world he never imagined existed.

Damien Marks has finally found a place to call home in Los Lobos, South Dakota, with the Black Hills Pack. He also stumbles across something he never thought he would—his mate. Falling hard, he decides he needs to come clean and tell the truth. But will his sexy lover accept what he is?

Embroiled in a potentially dangerous situation, both men have to decide where their loyalties lie—with duty or love?

My review:
 mm
There are a lot of shifter stories out there.  Some are good and some not so good.  I have read all the books in this loosely connected series so far and enjoyed each.  They can all be read stand alone and make for a good read.
Naming his Mate deals with some issues from earlier books but won’t leave you guessing as to what happened.  First and foremost this is a love story.  Damien is finally happy; he has found a home in Los Lobos and with the Black Hills Pack.  When he finds his mate, Mike has three strikes against him, he is male, he is human and he is the sheriff looking into the mysterious disappearance of some men that the pack had something to do with.  Can Damien keep his heart, his mate, and the pack safe?
Once again Drew proves he is not the asshole his father the former alpha was.  These two guys deserve their hea and I think you will enjoy getting there with them.

Two to Spark by Marie Harte

Blurb:
It only takes a spark to flame

A prank in high school turned Josie Young into persona non grata with the Talbot quadruplets. Cooper Talbot, the one boy she had a huge crush on, was the accidental victim of her joke. Years later, when Cooper's brother pulls her over for speeding, she realizes the Talbots have yet to forgive her. This wouldn't be a problem if she could stop imagining Cooper as her dream man. None of her other dates ever measured up to who she wanted them to be. Sadly, her birthday rolls around. Another year, another dateless night, rinse and repeat.

Firefighter Cooper Talbot doesn't believe in fate or coincidence. But when he trips into Josie Young, of all people, and over a black cat, he's having second thoughts. Then there's another fire he's got to put out when the sparks between him and Josie flare to life. A sure sign he's losing it, because Cooper's not ready for commitment. But he can't help feeling something more for sweet, sexy Josie. The signs all point to her being The One, but Cooper wants to make his own destiny. When he makes a mistake that might end them before they truly begin, he can only hope fate--and Josie--will give him another chance.

Previously released in the Five Alarm Alpha anthology

My review:
Two to Spark by Marie Harte is a fun sassy and often silly romantic romp.  Take one hot firefighting quad add the girl who crushed on him in school add in a bit of fate and you get Cooper and Josie’s story.  Cooper is a player and Josie is played out.  But time and circumstance bring them together and they are both in for a big surprise when they discover just how good they can be together.
Cooper has 3 other brothers and a sister so I am hoping this is the first of a series.
