The wolf moon fills the sky and it’s time to howl!

Warning: Contains alpha heroes and heroines, scorching passion, tough love, family ties, and pack dynamics which bind them together. Sometimes a wolf’s greatest challenge is finding their way home…

Wolf Next Door by Heather Long

When Claire Webster was five years old Tyler Buckley, the wolf next door, told her he was her mate and then ordered her not to play with one of her friends. Butting heads throughout their childhood, her choice to leave Willow Bend tore them apart. Eight years later, she sends a request to the new Alpha—she wants to come home, and when he grants it, she’s both relieved and terrified. The first person she runs into is the last one who ever wants to see her again.

Princess of the Pack by Saranna DeWylde

Marchessa de la Luna’s duty is to the marriage arranged to the enigmatic and powerful, but aging Alpha Antony Rommulus. Her passion is for the rogue Cassius who can give her nothing except pleasure. Marchessa must choose if it will be duty or desire that will decide her fate and that of her pack.

Eternal by Rebecca Royce

Dougal Owens has served on the front line of The Dragon Wars for sixteen years. The last thing this Alpha werewolf expects is his mate to drop in with a plan to end the war. Together, they will battle to save the Wolves or die trying.

Hell’s Playground by Cara Carnes

The Quadrant Alpha once thought Mira’s death was the worst thing that could have happened. Learning she lives, and worse, survived torture and purgatory gives Adrik a chance to save Redemption and his mate.

Odd Wolf by Virginia Nelson

Dara is Alpha and used to taking control of the situation when it goes swirly. A rogue on her turf means a fight, and she’s ready to take him on. A woman with no plans to be tamed and a rogue wolf with no plans to stick around shouldn’t have more than a brief meeting to establish boundaries and be done. However, when Dara meets Lynwood, the call to mate might drown out logic altogether.

My review:

A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review

Take 5 incredible authors and tell them to write a werewolf story and you end up in very different places but they are all incredible.  Some of these fantastic tales takes place in an established series but they can be read standalone.

Wolf Next Door by Heather Long –This story takes place among the wolves of Willow Bend.  This is a second chance romance done Werewolf style.  Claire Webster has grown up and into the wolf she could be.  Tyler claimed her as his mate when she was 5 and he was 6 will he still claim her now? I am a huge fan of Heather Long and she hasn’t let us down this time either.

Princess of the Pack by Saranna DeWylde – A young werewolf female coming into her own with choices to make that will affect not just her pack.  I absolutely adored the characters and look forward to further adventures in this world.

Eternal by Rebecca Royce – The dragons are the bad guys in this one.  The dragons are winning the war against the werewolves. Humans have long abandoned the planet. I adore Dougal & Cait. Reading this put the first book Forward on my TBR shelf. You can’t go wrong with a Rebecca Royce story.

Hell’s Playground by Cara Carnes – Wow! This story blew me away!  Incredible world building and a fantastic second chance romance.

Odd Wolf by Virginia Nelson – What is a girl to do for love when she is the Alpha bitch of her pack? She can’t make time with her subordinates.  When a rogue wolf comes to town and she doesn’t kick him to the curb right away there might be a chance for romance.  Too bad there is a paranormal creature out to steal her and her packs wolves.  With the help of her friends maybe she will get to keep her wolf and the rogue too.  This was a truly fun story.  I will be checking out the rest of the Odd series books.

Under a Wolf Moon is a bargain at whatever price. There isn’t a bad story in the book.

Southern Fried Blues (The Officers' Ex-Wives Club #1) by Jamie Farrell

Blurb:

A Yankee Lady Stuck in the South
Divorced wasn’t a label Anna Martin ever wanted. Now she’s a thousand miles from home, underemployed, and lonely, but she’s squeezing this lemon life gave her and turning it into lemon meringue pie. Never again will she let any man—especially another military man—get in the way of her career.

A Southern Gentleman Military Officer
Jackson Davis believes in family, football, and Uncle Sam. He treats ladies right, takes his uniform seriously, and he loves his dog, but he doesn’t reckon he’s built for true love. After all, if a man good as his daddy couldn’t do it right, what chance does Jackson have?

One Undeniable Attraction
These two vulnerable souls are as different as cornbread and ketchup, but they fit together like sweet butter on hot biscuits. Short-term, they’re exactly what the other needs. But when their hearts get involved, they’re both gonna end up with a big ol’ case of Southern Fried Blues.

My review:
I met this author at a signing in Philadelphia.  My husband and I had traveled up there for the signing because a couple of my favorite authors were going to be there.  When talking to Ms. Farrell she said that I just had to read this book.  So I bought it and will now be checking out the rest of her back list.
As a former Military wife and a Yankee living in the south I could totally relate to this book.  Southern Fried Blues is a sweet and sassy love story that will have you laughing and crying and in the end sighing.

Seduction by Blood (By Blood) by Melissa Schroeder

Blurb:
The next exciting installment where vampires rule the Victorian ton.

All of the London is convinced Jack the Ripper has returned to London, but Malik knows better. He knows the familiar scent of a Made, one that has survived longer than he should have. But, while he is pursuing the killer, he cannot keep his mind on it completely. Mrs. Diana Simpson has become too much to ignore. From her haughtiness, to the simmering passion he sees lurking behind the pain in her eyes, he recognizes his mate.

Diana has accepted this new part of her life, but she is not ready to bind herself to any man, human or vampire. Her first marriage left much to be desired, and she is not ready for that disappointment again. Still, each time they are together, the passion they feel explodes, and neither of them are ready for the repercussions of their actions. Especially when the new killer sets his eyes on Diana.

My review:
A fun romance.  This is a terrific romance.  You may enjoy it more if you’ve read the first in the series Desire by Blood but you don’t have to in order to enjoy it.  This is a vampire book but there is very little blood sucking in it.  There is a rollicking good mystery and romance so if you aren’t looking for anything too bloody you might want to give this story a try.

My review:
A fabulous urban fantasy with magic and mystery and a bit of romance.  I will admit it took me a bit to warm up to these characters but by the end I was sorry to say goodbye.  So stick it out it will be worth it. I would love to revisit this world again.  Maybe with Risa’s story.

Ghost of a Promise (Phantoms) by Kelly Moran

Blurb:
A paranormal category romance from Entangled's Covet imprint...

It might be love…but will they survive the night?

The ghosts of her family's estate on the coast of Maine never troubled Ava Trumble. When she finally inherits the historic mansion, however, there's a small string attached: Ava has exactly one year to solve a 200-year-old mystery of a missing girl, or lose her family's home...

The lead investigator for paranormal TV show Phantoms, Jackson Granger, is prepared for any metaphysical encounter—until now. It's not just the uncanny sense of "coming home" or even his reaction to the fiery redhead who seems to consume his every waking thought. No, it's that the ghosts are using Jackson and Ava's attraction to play out a centuries-old tragedy. Heartbreak. Loss. Overwhelming passion. Now Jackson and Ava must determine if they're sharing something real...or if they've been possessed by a love that never died.

My review:
Kelly Moran writes one hell of a story.  I am not a big fan of ghost stories or reality TV.  Kelly Moran sucked me in and made me love both.  This is a terrific multi-level romance.  Ms. Moran doesn’t miss a note.  Ava is a young woman with a problem, she will inherit the house she wants to turn into a B&B if she can solve a 200 year old mystery within a year.  Enter Jackson and his crew from the TV show Phantoms, they can help Ava get in touch with the very active ghosts in the house.    Plus you have the ghosts love story, the whole town refuses to enter the house because of the ghosts and then there is family. I know that it sounds cheesy but trust me this is really well done.

Dead & Buried (Blackmore Sisters Mystery #2) by Leighann Dobbs

Blurb:
Summers in the seaside town of Noquit Maine are quiet and relaxing ... unless you find a mysterious dead body, a hunky ex-boyfriend shows up and you start getting instructions from ghostly relatives.

That’s exactly what happens to Morgan Blackmoore.

Suddenly, she finds herself in a race against time as she’s launched into a dangerous treasure hunt that pits her against modern day pirates who think she has the key to a three hundred year old secret.

To complicate matters even more, one of her sisters keeps talking to the ghost of their dead grandmother, another has crystals with unusually powerful healing properties and her cat has an uncanny habit of showing up in exactly the right place at exactly the right time.

Not to mention that her ex-boyfried, Luke Hunter, suddenly shows up in town after ten years of being overseas and claims to want to help her fight off these deadly pirates, but Morgan finds herself fighting her attraction to him instead.

Will Morgan outwit the treasure hunters and find the real killer before Sheriff Overton puts her in jail?

And what about Luke, is he really a good guy or just after the treasure himself?

This is Book 2 in the Blackmoore Sisters cozy mystery series.

My review:
Want a really sweet (no sex) cozy mystery?  This is the series for you.  This is a fun romp with pirates and magic and long lost love rekindled.  I fully admit I am determined to find out why the Sheriff has it out for the Blackmoore girls and am truly loving the other mysteries along the way.

This book had its good and bad points.
Good:
The cover is HOT
Bears
Cody is doing the best he can under the circumstances.
There are some terrific secondary characters.
I liked the premise.
Not so good:
Olivia – I just couldn’t bring myself to like her too much.  For some reason she just struck me wrong.
The story – It would be going along fine but then bog down.
I liked the premise but the execution was wavy.

Betting on Fate (Serve #4) by Katee Robert

Blurb:

This time, all bets are off...

Penelope Carson loves to steal clients from Will Reaver. Yet something in her business nemesis's icy blue eyes makes Penelope...nervous. It certainly doesn't help that the man is the living embodiment of a Norse god. A controlled, powerful Norse god. Which she really should have remembered before she made a bet with him—because losing means becoming Will's personal submissive for a week. There's nothing Will would like more than to have Penelope kneeling before him in complicit submission, her fiery dark eyes inviting him in. Challenging him. But their bet takes Will and Penelope deeper than either of them have ever been. Where control is an illusion, and boundaries are pushed aside. And where hearts become the stakes in a game that neither Dominant nor submissive can win...

My review:
IR romance with a bit of BDSM.  This is a fab erotic romance.  It is fast paced, well written and a damn good story.  This may be the 4th in the series but it can be read stand alone. So break out a cold drink ( I recommend a good red wine) a fan and put the lock on the door because you won’t want to be interrupted.

Blurb:

It leads to an offer she can’t refuse from the town’s bad boy, the brother of her ex and the last man she should ever partner with.

He hires Verity put an end to the disturbances. But soon Verity learns there’s more to the mysterious estate than floating specters, secret passageways, and hidden rooms.

There’s a modern day mystery afoot, one that hinges on a decades-old murder. Verity isn't above questioning the living, or the dead. But can she discover the truth before the killer finds her?

My review:
I love this fun paranormal mystery.  I am not a big fan of ghost stories but this is Angie Fox.  She makes even the worst day seem like a blast and Verity Long has had some really bad days.  She is selling everything she owns to pay back her ex for the huge wedding (she didn’t want) that she bailed on because he is a cheating rat bastard.  To save her house from being sold she has to make a deal with the black sheep brother of her ex.  Ghost hunting isn’t on her resume but she will do what it takes if it kills her and it might just.  I read this in one sitting.  Go buy this book.

His mission. Her magic. Their migration.

My review:

WOW!  Just wow!  This book is the 7th in the series and I guess the author is winding up for the finale.  If you haven’t read the others in this series go do that right now.  If you have you are going to be blown away by this one.  I guess you have to watch out for the quiet ones as Jimmy quite stole my heart.  Also there is a lot of other things happening in and around Dorado.  We visit with each of the Morningstars and Kanes. We meet new characters and get a better idea of who Wyatt is and where the Fevered come from.  This is an action and emotion packed runaway train.  Get on board you don’t want to miss this ride.

Blurb:

But the night before he his bitten by a vampire--and accidently transformed into a member of the Undead. He assumes any chance he had with Trudy died the same night his need for food did.

But, Trudy is more than she seems. A werewolf hunter on the run she knows all about vampires and if she can keep them both alive for any length of time, she might be just what George needs to survive.

Can love survive an accidental bite?

My review:
I was lucky enough to get an advanced readers copy of this book.  I will admit I was skeptical because accidental vampire?  Been there.  But this is Rebecca Royce who looks at life from a very different angle and that holds true for this book as well.  This is a fun, fast paced action adventure love story rolled into one quick read.   I fell for George on the first page.  How does a guy ask you out nine times and not be a total creep?  George pulls it off. Trudy is a strong young woman with a haunted past.  You have to love a girl who can kick butt.  This is the first in what looks to be a fun new series that you will want to give a try.

Kara McClure is having a bad day.  She has just found out that her parents have died in a car wreck and when she goes to tell her boyfriend of 5 years she finds him screwing her best friend and then, while running away from that she runs out in front of a pickup that can’t stop in time. OUCH!

This is a wonderful werewolf romance.  There is a slow build to the hot sex and some terrific secondary characters. I really got a kick out of the VonBrandt family.  If you want a fast paced, well written werewolf romance give this a try.

Nightmare in Night Court by N.M. Silber

Blurb:

USA Today Bestselling author, N.M. Silber's hot and hilarious lawyers are back! What could be wackier than Philly Night Court on Halloween under a full moon? Gabrielle and Braden Pierce appearing for the defense. From undertakers, to ghost hunters to an illegal alien ... from another planet, this group of zanies makes their former caseload look almost normal. Join the funniest and sexiest attorneys in practice as they tackle a Nightmare in Night Court.

NOTE: This is a SHORT STORY, not a full-length novel or novella.

My review:

Short funny tale. Gabrielle and Braden from The Law of Attraction (Lawyers In Love #1) are now married and working at their own firm but have been shanghaied by the judge into representing some folks in Night Court on Halloween when there is a full moon out. The craziness that is normally in a NM Silber book is just that much more.

Wicked Wolf (Redwood Pack #8) by Carrie Ann Ryan

Blurb:
The war between the Redwood Pack and the Centrals is one of wolf legend. Gina Eaton lost both of her parents when a member of their Pack betrayed them. Adopted by the Alpha of the Pack as a child, Gina grew up within the royal family to become an enforcer and protector of her den. She’s always known fate can be a tricky and deceitful entity, but when she finds the one man that could be her mate, she might throw caution to the wind and follow the path set out for her, rather than forging one of her own.

Quinn Weston’s mate walked out on him five years ago, severing their bond in the most brutal fashion. She not only left him a shattered shadow of himself, but their newborn son as well. Now, as the lieutenant of the Talon Pack’s Alpha, he puts his whole being into two things: the safety of his Pack and his son.

When the two Alphas put Gina and Quinn together to find a way to ensure their treaties remain strong, fate has a plan of its own. Neither knows what will come of the Pack’s alliance, let alone one between the two of them. The past paved their paths in blood and heartache, but it will take the strength of a promise and iron will to find their future.

My review:
This is a bridge book. The end of the Redwood Pack series and the beginning of the Talon Pack series but not really a part of either so it can be read stand-alone.
Gina is a hybrid half wolf half witch.  She was orphaned by the war as a young girl and taken in by the alpha couple and added to their family.  Now 26 she is a young dominant female who has been foretold to be the Packs future Enforcer.  To prep her for that role and to help prepare for unnamed problems ahead the Alphas of the Redwood pack and the Talon pack have decided to form a council of sorts to help the packs come together and not join but get along better.  Gina is to lead the Redwood contingent.
Quinn is a strong lieutenant from the Talon pack.  He has been mated before.  His wife had a witch sever the mate ties between them just after she gave birth to their son.  Jesse has never been healthy since and is starting to fail.  So Quinn is not at his best when his Alpha assigns him to lead the Talon contingent and the fact that he is attracted to the half witch bugs the hell out of him.
Wicked Wolf is a super fast paced shifter romance with all the traits that make it a Carrie Ann Ryan hit.  When you read a Carrie Ann Ryan shifter romance you enter a world like and unlike our own.  There is magic and wonder and hurt and pain and smoking hot sex and a happily ever after. If you haven’t read a Carrie Ann Ryan book this might be a good one to start with.

What a Wolf Wants (Black Hills Wolves #2) by Heather Long

Blurb:

He runs alone...

Ryker Grey is used to being on the outside looking in. For more than fifty years, he has worked as Pack Enforcer for the Black Hills Wolves, rising to his rank swiftly. Compelled by duty and devotion to his people, he fought to keep them protected from within and without—earning a few enemies and fewer friends. Drew’s return has sparked healing in the fraying pack, but Ryker remains vigilant.

She needs a place to call her own...

Saja Lyons has spent her life studying cultures, but never really being a part of them. Completing a double specialty in psychology and sociology, she decides to take the three months after her graduation to find herself on a cross-country drive. She embraces the nomadic road trip until her car breaks down on a deserted stretch of road in the middle of nowhere South Dakota.

Two lonely lives collide in the cold...

Ryker catches Saja’s scent from a mile away, loneliness edged in fear, frustration, and utter femininity. He approaches her in order to lend her a hand and get her out of the pack’s way...the sooner she’s gone from Los Lobos, the safer the pack will be. When their gazes meet, her playful hostility arouses the hunter in him, and for the first time in fifty years, the enforcer tastes what it’s like to not be alone...

But what if the best thing that ever happened to him is a danger to the Black Hills Wolves?

My review:

If you like the strong silent type Ryker is the wolf for you.  Ryker lives away from the pack to keep them safe.  His best bud is a bear.  When in the course of his duties he hears a human stranded by the roadside right before a storm he has to try to get her moving along when that doesn’t work he takes her to his place.  Saja is a free spirit who has traveled the world meeting new people and discovering new things but she has never met anyone like Ryker.
This is a short book with a lot packed into it.  I fell for Ryker in the first book - Wolf’s Return (Black Hills Wolves #1) by Rebecca Royce.  You could read this standalone but you would better understand Ryker and pack dynamics if you’ve read Wolf’s Return.

A Mansion, A Drag Queen, And A New Job (Deanna Oscar Paranormal Mystery Book 1) by CC Dragon

Blurb:
Psychic medium Deanna Oscar wants to be a normal psychology professor at a nice college. The universe has other ideas. When the grandmother she never knew dies and leaves her everything, Deanna enters a different world. In New Orleans anything goes and her psychic powers aren’t a secret. She doesn’t plan on staying but a psychic vision puts her on the trail of a killer. Deanna can’t turn her back on the future victims and becomes immersed in her grandmother’s world. She isn’t sure how to manage the mansion and fortune she inherited or the people who came with it. An ex-priest, a Latina drag queen and a socialite beauty queen are the living entourage. Add in a houseful of ghosts and haunted objects and Deanna needs a little help. In over her head, she struggles to catch a killer who is out to get her as well.

My review:
With that title I expected this story to be a whole lot funnier than it is.  Once starting it however I found I couldn’t put this book down until it was done. It was fun watching Deanna find herself and grow as a psychic. Now I want to see where Deanna goes from here.  Does she hook up with Greg? John the Judge? Someone else?  This story has a world of well built characters and a good mystery, it is fast paced and well written. This book was previously published as I’m Okay, You’re Dead by Cheryl Dragon but has been updated and revised.  I think the author made the correct choice in publishing this under a different pen name as this story contains very little of the heat that Cheryl Dragon is known for.

Wolf's Return (Black Hills Wolves #1) by Rebecca Royce

Blurb:
A hidden wolf pack. Lies. Intrigue. And reluctant heroes. Get to know the Black Hills…

Drew Tao left the Black Hills in disgrace, banished by his father. He has spent the last ten years a lone wolf, living on his own. Called back home, he finally gets the chance to set things right. If such a thing is possible….

Betty Holden has hated her mate every day for the last ten years for abandoning her and their pack. She's been running things in Los Lobos, and she has no intention of letting Drew Tao slip back into her life like nothing has changed-even if she has never been able to resist him.

Can there be forgiveness? And can he protect her when another enemy arrives?

My review:
Fantastic start to a new series.  The prodigal son is called home.  Drew was forced out by his father (the alpha) 10 years ago.  He wasn’t allowed to say goodbye to his mate and to make matters worse he was shot in the leg as he was leaving.  He has been called home because his father is being slowly poisoned.  What he finds there is a shock.  His mate is rightfully ticked off at him and the pack is a mess.  His father isn’t on his death bed but he is as big an ass as he ever was.  Can Drew overcome the damage to his leg to defeat his father?  Will his mate and the pack ever forgive him?  Can Drew rebuild the pack?  For the answers to these questions you need to read Wolf’s Return.  Wolf’s Return is a fast read.  I read it in one sitting and then turned around and read it again.  This pack has possibilities.  For a quick powerful read you need to read Wolf’s Return.

Erotic Romance
Amazon | Amazon CA | Amazon UK | BN | Samhain | Kobo | iTunes

Blurb:
Sometimes dream crushes do come true.
Vegas Nights, Book 1

Reagan can’t believe her luck—and not in a good way. One minute she’s hanging out with her friends at an exclusive party in Las Vegas. The next, she’s attracted the attention of a famous actor. Not just any actor. Declan Carter, the man on which she used to—okay, might still—have a fangirl crush. Whose blue eyes leave her embarrassingly tongue tied.

All Declan wants is to meet a nice, normal woman who won’t use him as a stepping stone to fame. Something about Reagan tells him she could be that rare woman, and he follows his instinct to invite her back to his suite—where they proceed to have wild monkey sex. All. Night. Long.

What was supposed to be one night of no-regrets sex stretches out into a blissful weekend of two people who can’t get enough of each other. But when the glamour of Sin City wears off, they’re standing on the edge of a once-in-a-lifetime chance to turn a weekend fling into something lasting. Will they take the jump?

EXCERPT

“Reagan,” Declan called, drawing her attention. She turned to her right to find him sitting on an overstuffed loveseat made out of wicker, the deep red cushions plump and comfortable-looking. He waved her over and she headed toward him, her steps careful, her knees wobbling when she saw the heart-stopping smile on his face as she approached.

“I could watch you do that all night,” he murmured as he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees so he could dangle in his arms between his legs, his hands clasped together.

“Watch me do what?” she asked, perplexed. She stopped by a glass-topped table where

the two waters Declan ordered sat. But she wasn’t thirsty. She could hardly move, too entranced by the way he stared up at her.

“Walk. You look...incredible in that dress,” he said, letting his gaze skim the entire length of her. “Join me.”

The loveseat wasn’t very big and he was nearly sitting in the middle, so she settled down next to him, their thighs pressed together, her bare leg rubbing against the slightly coarse material of his jeans. She smiled at him as he sat up straight, his shoulder brushing against hers, and she looked away, exhaling discreetly for fear he might notice.

He flat out overwhelmed her. She could smell him, spicy and warm with a hint of soap. His body was hot—she could feel the heat radiating off of him and pulsating through her.

Or maybe that was just her, so crazily aroused for this man she didn’t really even know that she reacted like a woman with out of control hormones. He definitely sent everything within her zinging with just a look, just by sitting next to her.

“It’s a beautiful view,” she said when she couldn’t seem to take him staring at her anymore. She turned to look out at the city lights once more, the breeze blowing through her hair, lifting it from her shoulders and her warm neck.

“I agree,” he said, his voice closer than she realized, and she glanced over her shoulder, his face directly in hers, his gaze locked on her. “Gorgeous.”

She had the distinct feeling he wasn’t talking about the view of Las Vegas. More like he was talking about...her?

No way.

My review:

There is a prequel to this book called Wicked Weekend.  Basically it just sets up this book telling how the girls came to be at the party.  Personally I think it should have just been added to the front of this book but it really isn’t necessary. Can a Vegas weekend turn into forever?  This book doesn’t pretend to answer that but it does say that it can be a pretty good start.  When folks go to Las Vegas it gives them the opportunity to be who they aren’t for a little while.  What happens in Vegas… When these three young nurses get invited to a celebrity party it is like a dream come true.  Reckless Nights tells the story of Reagan getting to meet her childhood crush former bad boy Declan Carter.  He is out of rehab and wants a good girl.  Reagan is a good girl who can be very bad.  The connection is there but can it last beyond Vegas? This is a check your brain at the door and enjoy the sexy fun kind of read.

Vegas Nights, Book 0.5

Between nursing school and starting their careers, Reagan, Andrea, and Natalie have had no time for dating. After saving up for a special vacation, they’re on their way to Vegas for a long-awaited weekend of fun, sun, gambling and partying.

When their luggage goes missing, an impromptu shopping trip leads them to James, who makes them an unusual offer—to be part of the female scenery at his boss’s upcoming party. Not just any scenery, but women who are pretty in a real way, not the nipped, tucked and dyed Hollywood version.

Accept a “private party” invitation from a complete stranger? These ladies weren’t born yesterday. Yet before “no thanks” crosses their lips, Reagan discovers who James’s boss really is: Declan Carter, an actor she’s crushed on for, well, forever. Now she’s determined to be the eye candy who catches Declan’s eye. No matter what it takes…
